Emiya Shirou (Spellcaster): ¡Por último pero no menos importante! Nuestro foro es temático de Fate/Stay Night, ¡y nos falta el protagonista principal! ¡este es tu momento para venir con nosotros y ayudarnos a expandir nuestro elenco! Fate/Apocrypha - Personajes disponibles:

¿Te gustaron el anime y las novelas de Fate/Apocrypha? ¡Nuestros usuarios están organizando una trama similar! En esta trama, Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia intentará tener la misma influencia que su alter ego canónico y luchará con el fin de hacerse con la hechicería tal cual la conocemos, ¿te atreves a enfrentarlo?

Entre los personajes que buscamos para esta trama son los siguientes: Laeticia/Jeanne D'Arc (Ruler): Jeanne y Laeticia pueden ser dos personajes separados o uno mismo a modo de Demi-Servant, es importante para la historia de nuestro Sieg, además de que podría ser el principal estandarte contra la familia Yggdmillennia. Por supuesto, hay otros personajes como Keyla interesados en hacer contrato con ella, ¡no te pierdas la oportunidad! Caules y Fiore Forvedge (Magus): Estos dos hermanos son lo más cercano que Darnic tiene a un sucesor, pero aunque el corazón de su "abuelo" se ha nublado por la ambición, los dos hermanos conservan aún una moral definida y buenos corazones, ¿acaso podrían terminar traicionando a Darnic? Lemina Eltfromm Yggmillennia (Magus): Lemina, en el canon, es una Magus de la familia Yggdmillennia posterior a su disolución. Aquí, podemos proponerla como un personaje que desciende de la rama principal de dicha familia pero en una rama diferente, ya que el Clan Yggdmillennia es reconocido por estar muy distribuido a lo largo del mundo, con un estilo de vida propio y más alejado del que propone su pariente Darnic, ¿estará ella de su lado o en su contra? Frankenstein (Berserker): ¡Ah, una de las caras más tiernas y feroces de Fate/Apocrypha! ¡Podría ser servant de Caules como en el canon o de cualquier otro master interesado en participar! Este personaje nos lo pidió Mordred Pendragon (Prototype) quien, siendo Servant de Darnic, colaborará como antagonista de la trama, aunque le interesa conocer a Frankenstein para formar alguna trama donde el chico malo reconsidera su posición, ¿y quién sabe? ¿quizá un shipp en el camino? ¡sólo tú puedes descubrirlo! Aslaug/Kraka (Archer): El Rey de los Vikingos, el otro Servant de Darnic, es ni más ni menos que Ragnar Lodbrok, su esposo. Estaría bien que fuera uno de los servants convocados para esta trama ya sea por algún aliado de Darnic, o quizá por el angst y el drama, como la heroína cuyo trabajo será derrotar a su esposo en combate. ¿Será acaso que Ragnar aún sienta amor por Aslaug? ¿o permanecerá inmutable al hecho de que deben enfrentarse? Si me preguntas a mí, ¡estoy impaciente por saberlo!

El-Melloi II Classroom - Personajes disponibles

¡Actualmente contamos con El-Melloi II, Reines y Gray! A todos nos gustaría tener a Sven, Flatt y Norma en esta agrupación debido a que esta facción se está volviendo más y más popular en el foro, ¡de verdad! Podrían unirse para resolver casos de misterio, o construir sus propias tramas junto a los personajes ya mencionados, u otros personajes originales como Alice y Vayne quienes están interesados en expandir el lore de la Torre del Reloj.

Fate/Grand Order - Personajes disponibles

¡Estos personajes tienen todo! Peso, carisma, y muchos vínculos ya presentes por dónde empezar a rolear, ¡léelo por ti mismo! Además, se viene una trama compuesta por usuarios donde investigarán a Nachtigall Alpträume, un magus que es investigado por Chaldea debido a crímenes clasificados y el secuestrio de Cesare, un Designer Baby que pudo ser utilizado para invocar a un Espíritu Heroico de clase Caster. Olgamally Animusphere (Magus): ¡La actual cabeza de la Organización de Seguridad Chaldea, damas y caballeros! Olgamally es un personaje con mucha historia en el foro pues es la actual líder de la organización, ¡buscamos quién la rolee para que ponga en orden todo por aquí! Personajes como Fujimaru Ritsuka, Kadoc Zemlupus, Kirschtaria Wodime (el mismísimo alumno de su padre) y Kiara Sessyoin. Además personajes originales como Runari Wildly y Hyeon estarán al pendiente de darle la atención que necesita! Mash Kyrielight (Demi-Servant Shielder): Mash Kyrielight puede ser un personaje Demi Servant como en el canon, ¿o quién sabe? ¡Podrías tener una adaptación propia en la que sea Master por sí misma! ¡Tenemos a todos los personajes anteriormente citados para darle rol a Mash!

Ophelia Phamrsolone (Magus): Ophelia es un personaje interesante, con uno de los Ojos Místicos más fuertes de la actualidad, ¡excelente miembro del Equipo A, una Master capaz y ejemplar en todo sentido! Para Ophelia ya contamos con Kirschtaria y Kadoc Zemlupus, quienes son sus aliados en el Equipo A Scandinavia Peperoncino (Magus/Spellcaster/Freelancer): Myourenji Arou (A.K.A. Peperoncino) es un personaje muy complejo y fascinante. Tiene un poco de todo: es el mejor combatiente en batalla de 1 contra 1 del Equipo A, un gusto por la moda bastante vanguardista, un carisma único a varios niveles y un trasfondo e historia simplemente fascinante, ¡a todos los miembros de Chaldea les encantaría tenerlo! Actualmente, contamos con los personajes canon Fujimaru Ritsuka, Kadoc Zemlupus y Kirschtaria Wodime quien fue uno de sus mejores amigos en el canon, ¡tenemos varias tramas para proponerle!

Tsukihime - Personaje disponible

¡Seguimos en la búsqueda de una Akiha Tohno para su hermano, Shiki! Esta búsqueda incluye otras tramas como las que Shiki llevará a cabo fuera de Fuyuki y apegándose más al lore de Tsukihime que al de Fate, así como todo lo que rodee al personaje de Shiki, siendo algunas de sus tramas las que ya tiene planeadas con Alice R. Crowell y la posterior rivalidad a tratar en la trama de Shadow of St. Petersburg donde estaría muy lindo tener a los hermanos como protagonistas, ¡adelante!

Woopsie, I Put Too Much Effort Into A Character Song Playlist (Zib)

Just showing off some contextual brain worms. Feel free to toy with it as hyperfix fuel, art/fic ideas, a discussion starter, or just to know what’s been rattling around in my ears lately. Addition suggestions welcome. No particular order to arrangement.

Breakdown/Preview below:

Outer Science, English Ver. [Kuraiinu]

Song artist: Jin (covered by Kuraiinu, English lyrics by Kuraiinu)

Fact of fun: The story told in the original song is part of a whole rabbit hole of a work, the Kagerou Project. Outer Science is specifically about one very bad ending out of a huge branch of connected timelines and possible “routes”.

Sorter’s note: This badass track is a huge favorite of mine both with and without even considering this character list, but holy shit did I find it appropriate for this purpose- from the action, the vibes, and especially for it to center around another villain as utterly maniacal as the star of the list. In my little headspace I love to imagine it mostly addressed from Zib’s perspective toward our main timeline’s Dib.

Sorter’s note: I felt this one fitted Zib to the point of comedy. The original context of the song was literally about a universe-wide genocide with xenophobic motivations. To me this might as well have been going through his head in canon had he gotten his way.

Song artist: Kanimiso-P (covered by Bookiezz)

Fact of fun: The original music video with Hatsune Miku is super famous for good reason, and it’s actually a terrifying piece of art. The song by itself carries a really sad story involving themes of alienation, the vicious cycle of bullying, and possibly suicide, depending on how you interpret its ambiguous ending. There’s also a lot of body horror in the fashion of arthropod imagery, and that’s neat. This pick happens to be my favorite version of it, something about the part with the laughter still gives me actual chills.

Sorter’s note: I’m keeping it a secret for now what segment of the song I’m referring to but I actually started working on storyboarding for a brief animation of Zib to an audio snippet earlier this month.

Starting a new (canonical) arc of T3 means a massive improvement on the scheduling part. I intend to delay The Apothecary Diaries to a much later point in the 404 TOON RESET arc, but for real, I have decided to bring back BLACK CAT reruns since its previous broadcast on New Year's Eve 2024/2025. Also, I have noticed that Toonami wasn't able to secure the broadcasting rights to Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works regardless of Aniplex's announcement of said series getting cable TV broadcasts in 2025. To make up for this mistake, I have decided to step in and confirm its 2006 counterpart for live-streaming on Toon Time Theater's More One Night block starting 8 March. I chose the 2006 series over Unlimited Blade Works since it's the Fate work that I mostly grew up with back when I was a kid. Although I didn't have any plans of live-streaming the Fate/Grand Order shows, I figured, "why not expose the world and us Americans to the Fate franchise?" If I live-stream a Fate animated series, then that would not only give the viewers a taste of the Fate universe, but also convince them to check out Type-Moon's Fate/Grand Order free-to-play mobile game. Even Melty Blood Type Lumina's more recent characters use Fate series characters (especially from FGO) to draw attention to the growing Fate community. Not to mention SWORD ART ONLINE returns to the Saturday Morning Animation Cram Session, jumping to Episode 4. My previous broadcast of the series was near Christmas, when I was able to rerun Episode 3 just in time for the holidays. Anyways, KEY THE METAL IDOL will move to More One Night as part of the Hall of Fame sub-block reserved for cartoon classics and reruns of past programming from T3's earlier days. However, this second broadcast will be edited even more than the previous broadcast back on SMACS, and it will be done to reduce the amount of foul language, explicit nudity, and unnecessary edits. Lastly, I will be cutting DRAGON BALL Z KAI after Episode 53, giving other cartoons a better chance to be in the spotlight.

1. Favourite servant?

Uno de mis servant favoritos de los animes es Iskandar. Aunque solo apareció en Zero me llegó al cora ♥ En cuanto al juego, uno de mis preferidos es Waver/Caster

2. Favourite master?

Creo que no hace falta ponerlo, pero mi master preferido de todos es Waver. Aunque al principio es bastante simple y asustadizo tiene una evolución mucho mejor que los demás masters de Zero. Si bien no es el más habilidoso ni preparado, es uno de los poquitos que trató a su servant como algo más que eso, que se preocupó realmente de él y que trabajó codo con codo para lograr hacerle feliz.

3. Favourite servant/master team?

Bueno, AMO con todo mi corazón el Iska/Waver, porque es un team que se complementa por completo, lo que a uno le falta lo completa el otro y así. Son preciosos y por eso los amo. PERO, cabe destacar que otro de mis team preferidos sería Caules/Fran, a pesar de que tuvieron tan poquito tiempo los amé demasiado.

4. Which command seal design do you like the most?

Mi preferido en cuanto a diseño es el de Waver; se que suena tonto ya que me gusta tanto el personaje en si xD pero creo que es un diseño muy bonito y elegante, a la vez que sencillo, pues hay otros demasiado recargados. Y su diseño me recuerda mucho a unas alas ♥

5. Which game/light novel/manga is your favourite in the series?

Case Files sin duda se ganó mi corazón. Y esta vez no es porque se trate de Waver siendo el protagonista, sino porque es algo más serio que las demás animaciones o juegos. Me gusta mucho la trama de estilo un poco detestivesca, y que no sea todo basado en las guerras del Grial, pero que te enseñe montones de cosas.

6. Favourite anime adaptation?

Pues realmente no he leído los mangas de Zero o Apocrypha, así que no sabría decir cual es mejor adaptación xD Como anime Zero sin duda está en el top, pero si hablamos de visualización Apocrypha es mucho más llamativa y mejor dibujado.

7. Favourite opening?

Ninguno de ellos me gusta realmente xDD pero creo que el que menos me disgusta es el segundo opening de Zero, la canción no está mal, aunque como favorito creo que no tengo.

8. Do you have a fate/oc? Describe them!

Nones. Si bien tengo a algunos personajes de otros fandoms en el de Fate, no son personajes originales, así que supongo que esta parte no la puedo rellenar xP.

9. Favourite servant/servant ship?

Charles/Astolfo, aunque no he tenido la oportunidad de verlos en ningún anime, si que he podido ver interacciones suyas en el juego de Estella, y me han encantado. Así que se van al top de mis servant/servant ship.

10. Favourite master/master ship?

Bueno, no tengo ninguna ship de este estilo montada, así que me quedaré con la que ya viene por defecto en Zero Kitsugu/Irisviel. Son super tiernos juntos y realmente me gusta la pareja que hacen.

11. Favourite master/servant ship?

¿Hace falta preguntarlo? Por supuesto mi par de idiotas Waver/Iskandar. Los amo demasiado como para no pensar en ellos como pareja cada vez que me preguntan sobre Zero. Realmente creo que son de los pocos que podrían tener una relación más allá de master/servant, por la manera en que ambos se tratan. Y, aunque no se diese esa posibilidad, todos sabemos que Waver siente algo más que simple amistad hacia Iskandar.

12. Name your notp.

Kirei/Kiritsugu. Lo siento pero no los puedo emparejar ni así trata de hacerlo. Son dos polos completamente opuestos, se odian demasiado el uno al otro como para poder verlos de otra manera que no sea peleando a muerte, y lo siento pero para mi Kiritsugu hace demasiada buena pareja con Irisviel como para volver homosexual.

13. Name a part of fate/ that makes you salty.

La parte en la que de repente, Juana dejó de ser Juana para convertirse en una adolescente idiota (como la mayoría de las chicas en los animes), y de repente y sin venir a cuento se enamoró de Sieg y estaba celosa en todo momento de Astolfo… realmente esa parte sobraba por completo, puesto que Juana nunca sería de ese modo y me parece que actúa muy en desacuerdo a como se muestra en casi toda la primera parte del anime. No me gustó nada esa relación forzada y cada vez que lo veo me pongo de los nervios.

14. If you could change something from the canon, what would you?

Tal vez… cambiaría el hecho de que solo pueda participar un máximo de master, no se, me gustó mucho la idea de dos equipos que hubo en Apocrypha, tal vez porque así tuvimos oportunidad de ver más espíritus heroicos, aunque realmente no cambiaría nada, me gusta como es.

15. Least favourite manga/game/light novel from fate?

Sinceramente no aguanto Fate/Stay Night. Tiene una animación bastante fea, entiendo que la serie es antigua y tal, pero no me gusta ese aspecto. Luego tiene un desarrollo lento y pesado. Se desarrolla prácticamente como cualquier otro anime de trama colegial en el que todas las chicas se enamoran del prota, y creo que así no puedes disfrutar lo suficiente de la serie, aunque por otro lado es normal teniendo en cuenta su origen xD.

16. Name a servant you want to beat up.

Voy a nombrar dos en este caso, y ellas sería Saber (Arturia) y Archer (Atalante). Arturia se muestra de un modo muy altanero e infantil a veces. Si bien en Zero me gustó mucho más, no dejaba de ser alguien bastante engreída en ciertos momentos y eso no me gusta demasiado. Por otro lado Atalante es simplemente que no pude con ella desde un primer momento porque me parecía bastante estúpida, siempre pensando en si misma y los demás no importan, solo lo mal que lo pasó ella, y ese victimismo puede conmigo.

AU kara no kyokai con los personajes de fate!

Pucha Saku eso la mitad de mi ML HAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAAHAHA

A ver, por orden...

Primero 5 HC del AU en general, y luego 5 por cada personaje porque no veo forma de resumir en 5 headcanons todo ese AU considerando que son 9 personajes mas sus interacciones con la gente de Kara no Kyokai que son 7 más.

Todos los Servants serían humanos normales usuarios de algún tipo de Ojos Misticos o tendrían un Origen/Afinidad particular. Ed y yo tenemos ese headcanon de que así como los vampiros son el main theme de Tsukihime, y los Servants el de Fate, el de Kara no Kyokai es el de los Ojos Misticos, no sólo los de Shiki, sino que hay al menos 3 usuarios más, pero para ciertos personajes a los que no puedo ponerles ojos misticos ni queriendo, asignarles un Origen extraño (como el de Touko) o un tipo de Afinidad sin igual (como la de Rin) sería suficiente.

Todos los Masters serían magos, pero no estarían directamente afiliados al Garan no Dou. Excepto tal vez Rin pero por incidentalidad, no como Kokutou y Shiki.

Como hay prototipos de diseños Fate en todo KnK, creo que muchos personajes se confundirían entre si, por ejemplo Kokutou pensando que Rin es Azaka, o Shiki pensando que Shirou es Enjou, Rin creyendo que Fujino es Sakura, y así sucesivamente.

Los servants/humanos serían vistos como cosas raras u oddities, y muy probablemente otros magos buscarían reclutarlos o tenerlos de su parte por lo que pueden hacer que ellos no, como sucede con Touko y Shiki, o Touko y Kokutou, que por sus habilidades Touko los usa de manos ejecutoras y diplomáticas del Garan no Dou. Probablemente ella misma contratara a personajes como Arturia, Archer, o los mismo Gilgamesh y Fenrir.

Considerando los eventos de Future Gospel, creo que Gilgamesh le daría lecciones de vida a Mitsuru Kamekura, y ambos le tendrían terror a Mana (no diré su apellido porque es spoiler). Así como probablemente casi todos los servants evitarían lidiar con Shiki y a Mana a toda costa aunque Shiki es la encargada del Garan no Dou en el futuro.

Ahora vamos primero con los dos Masters

Rin tendría más dinero y probablemente Tokiomi habría muerto de todas formas, pero no de manos de Kotomine, sino del mismo Gilgamesh en persona.

Considerando que el Origen de Rin de por si es de los más poderosos que puede tener cualquier mago, en este AU ella llegaría mucho más rápido al ranking de los 100 mejores magos de la historia mucho más rápido (esto último es canon confirmado por Nasu).

Trabajaría más a menudo con Touko, y le tendría cariño a Kokutou, pero probablemente no soportaría a Azaka y siempre tendría sus reservas respecto a Shiki. Asimismo, intentaría hacerse amiga de Fujino.

No estudiaría en el colegio católico donde estudiaron Azaka y Fujino, pero probablemente si en la escuela donde estudiaron Kokutou y Shiki.

Ella, gracias a Touko, tendría su propio "grupo" de cazadores de rarezas que consistiría en Archer, Gilgamesh, Cú Chulainn, Arturia, y probablemente Fenrir, Amakusa y Bedivere de forma sumamente eventual y como última alternativa. Tendría un nombre en alemán que podría traducirse en algo como "Trono de Cristal".

Él no tendría un grupo, pero sería mayormente un aliado de Touko en sus investigaciones para crear el ser perfecto, pues gracias a su Origen, Gary es invulnerable a todo el veneno que existe, existió, y existirá.

Es quien probablemente haya ayudado a Rin a formar su grupo pues es el único con la edad suficiente para estar en medio de la gente de la generación de KnK y la de Fate, ya que no tendrían todos la misma edad. Más que nada porque sabía que a futuro Rin y su grupo le iban a beneficiar bastante cada vez que surgiera un caso extraño que Touko no pudiera resolver.

Se llevaría bastante bien con Gilgamesh y Cú Chulainn, pero es probable que se llevara terriblemente mal con Archer y Fenrir, y sintiera ligero desprecio por Arturia, Bedivere, y Amakusa. Mitsuru le caería de forma bastante neutral, pero tendría un desagrado intenso por Azaka y Fujino.

Eventualmente ayudaría a Rin o a Touko con los casos, y le fastidiaría bastante tener que pasar tiempo con Kokutou o Mana, principalmente porque Shiki tampoco le agrada mucho. No le gusta la idea de tener que enfrentar su propia mortalidad estando frente a ella, y sabe que Shiki ve a través de él y sus mentiras, y esto por extensión también cubre a Fenrir, a quien considera un animal en piel humana.

Probablemente habría sido kouhai de Lio, y habría sido reclutado por Souren por esa misma razón. Y es posible que supiera de la creación del Spiral Paradox pero no le importara la gente en lo más mínimo sino lo que podría suceder si efectivamente conseguían llegar al Origen.

Ahora los servants!

No estaría afiliado a nadie, pues sería un cura más del montón. Excepto que probablemente tuviera la necesidad de ayudar en cosas muy puntuales a Rin. Su único trabajo normalmente es cazar a Fenrir aunque nunca lo logra.

Su trabajo sería como profesor de Religion y Cura en la Academia donde están Azaka y Fujino, así que escucharía constantemente historias sobre Shiki y Kokutou, y rezaría por ambos a sabiendas de los problemas en los que se meten.

No sería un mago, ni tendría ojos misticos, pero sería un Ejecutor y espadachín excelente a servicio de la Iglesia. Es al que podrían llamar de Wild Card en cualquier momento, pero su trabajo es mantener el orden en la Academia para proteger a las niñas.

Su Origen muy probablemente sería Pureza, y su afinidad elemental Espada.

No estaría de acuerdo con Word of God y opinaría que su nombre es ofensivo, y sería el primero en avisar a Touko para explicarle lo que sucede en la Academia durante Fairytale o como mínimo convencer a Azaka de que llame a Shiki, pero no podría interceder directamente porque no se lo permitieron.

Archer sin duda tendría ojos misticos, estos no existen en canon, pero creo que serían algo así como Ojos del Espacio, que le permitirían tener la vista que tiene. Es decir, sus ojos tendrían una percepción única del espacio donde, mas que manejarlo a voluntad, sabría exactamente a dónde lanzar una flecha para que esta llegue a donde quiera, desafiando incluso las leyes de la física pero sin romperlas.

Por esta razón es que trabajaría con Rin. Aquí no sería un heroe del futuro, sino un aspirante a mago. Su Origen y Afinidad serían los mismos de siempre, sólo que por sus ojos misticos usa más las flechas que las espadas. De allí que su apoyo sea Archer.

Usaría magia de refuerzo en todo su cuerpo para poder mantener peleas cuerpo a cuerpo, y aunque no es capaz de usar aquí Unlimited Bladeworks, es capaz de hacer magia de proyección y refuerzo para usar a sus dos espadas si la situación lo requiere.

No tendría particular interés en trabajar con Touko o Shiki, pero Kokutou tiene su interés pues conoce pocas personas tan amables como él. Asimismo, cuidaría de Mana y Azaka por su parecido con Rin. Sería también el único que no detestaría a Azaka, sino que le parecería más bien adorable de a ratos.

No estaría afiliado a la Clock Tower como Rin, pero aprendería muchas cosas de ella en su tiempo libre. En este AU no son pareja, pero habría tensión entre ellos (aunque Archer no haría nada dado que Rin tendría cierta tensión con Cú Chulainn también), y de hecho se conocerían desde que son niños.

Arturia al igual que Amakusa tampoco sería una maga, pero tendría un Origen único que serviría parecido a Excalibur, algo como Destrucción, y su Afinidad sería Luz. No tendría ojos misticos tampoco, pero su Origen y su Afinidad serían suficiente para hacerla una parte invaluable del grupo de Rin, perfecta para encargarse de personas poseídas y matar demonios.

Habría ayudado a Bedivere en su cacería de demonios y de allí que fuesen amigos, probablemente hay sentimientos sin decir entre ellos pero son demasiado honorables para decir nada.

Odiaría trabajar con Gilgamesh, pero a diferencia de casi todos si le gusta hablar con Shiki, pues sus Orígenes se parecen en cierto modo y puede tener conversaciones interesantes con ella (aunque si sentiría temor del alcance de la habilidad de Shiki). Se llevaría de forma educada con todos los demás, aunque no es capaz de hacer equipo con Fenrir por más respeto que le tenga. Como punto curioso, sería, junto con Rin la única en ser capaz de hablar con Fujino de vez en cuando.

Su relación con Rin es de mejores amigas, y de hecho Arturia y Archer serían los primeros que habrían empezado con la iniciativa con ella al resolver uno que otro caso que Touko y Shiki no pudieran resolver.

Viviría con Rin, Archer y Cú Chulainn en la mansión Tohsaka, y todos se encargarían de mantener la casa limpia y arreglada. Asimismo, por vivir allí, no dejan a Rin sola y le dan tiempo para estudiar.

Tendría una habilidad muy rara llamada Ojos Puros. Estos permiten ver las cosas como son realmente, así que hechizos o magia, incluso demonios disfrazados son totalmente incapaces de ocultarse de él. Sería el único sin un Origen o una Afinidad resaltante.

Sería un cazador de demonios, probablemente de alguna de las tantas ramas de la familia Ryougi, y en este AU no tendría relación con Arturia, aunque al conocerla decidiera quedarse en la ciudad para hacerle el trabajo más fácil.

Su brazo sería hecho por Touko Aozaki, sólo que mientras todos lo ven como un brazo normal, él lo ve como lo que realmente es: un armatoste de metal y cables que está tan bien hecho que casi puede engañar a sus ojos.

Por sus ojos, trabajaría eventualmente con Touko para que ella pudiera perfeccionar cada vez más sus muñecas y sus maniquíes. No sería todo el tiempo, pero es el único que podría saber desde hace cuánto tiempo Touko es un maniquí y cuándo cambia de cuerpos. Por esto mismo, es también el único que podría haber visto la paradoja en el edificio.

No trabajaría con Rin porque prefiere ser lo más servicial posible. Aún así, en casos de extrema urgencia, él es capaz de ayudarla cuando tenga problemas, especialmente si Arturia es quien se lo pide.

No sería amigo de Rin desde la infancia como Archer, pero probablemente sería un mago de la Clock Tower se que hizo amigo de ella y decidió acompañarla cuando decidió crear la cooperativa. Terminaría viviendo con ella porque Rin tendría exceso de espacio y no quería vivir con Arturia y Archer sin que él estuviera incluído.

Se lleva bastante mal con Archer porque tiene historia con Rin, y en general cree que es un idealista que no disfruta su propia vida. Pero se llevaría bastante mejor con Arturia y Bedivere, e ir��nicamente sería bastante cercano con Fenrir. Amakusa y Gilgamesh son a los que no soportaría.

No tendrían ojos misticos pero su Origen sería Precisión y su Afinidad Fuego, así que con cualquier objeto, Cú Chulainn es capaz de hacer todo lo que hace Archer, con el bonus de ser capaz de crear fuego en cualquier lado. De ahí también vendría parte de su rivalidad co él. La diferencia es que Cú sería mucho mejor en combate físico pues es un mago bastante más competente y cuando usa lanzas y bastones es totalmente invencible.

No le gustaría trabajar con nadie del Garan no Dou, así que siempre se mantendría alejado de sus asuntos. Opina que Touko es una mujer retorcida, y que Shiki, Mitsuru, y Kokutou no son mucho mejores que ella.

Es el único del grupo qie trabaja a medio tiempo, pues no le gusta depender de Rin. Él no es bueno cocinando como Archer, ni es particularmente eficiente en las labores del hogar como Arturia, así que su forma de contribuir al Rin es enseñándole magia y dando clases de Historia en la Academia de Fujino y Azaka donde está Amakusa.

Gilgamesh Ibn-La'ahad sería un jeque del medio oriente hijo de ricos y poderosos que está dándose la buena vida en Japon para escapar de la vida cotidiana y el calor de Dubai. Sería un mago pero no de la Clock Tower, y tendría ojos misticos. Probablemente algo llamado Ojos de Percepción de la Suerte, que le permite ver cuando algo o alguien le va a traer suerte de alguna clase. Ya sea dinero, deberle un favor importante, o algo tan trivial como buen sexo, así como la cara opuesta de la mala suerte y sus desgracias. Por esta habilidad es que decide en principio salir con Rin durante un tiempo, pues ella le iba a traer suerte, y es a raíz de esto que ella decide unirlo a la asocación. Así que por su suerte y su dinero, es quien paga la mayoría de las cosas y los ayuda a decidir en qué casos meterse y cuales no les convienen en lo más mínimo. Plus, su Origen es Creación y su Afinidad es Oro, así que es el único mago en el mundo capaz de hacer alquimia para convertir plomo en oro.

No sería particularmente bueno en eso de luchar, así que se mantiene como soporte del equipo. Y considerando que no se lleva bien con prácticamente ninguno excepto con Rin, porque Archer y Cú Chulainn lo detestan, y Arturia nunca le presta atención a sus flirteos, vive en su penthouse con su gato Enkidu y abiertamente esta conforme con ser parte permanente del equipo pero desde lejos. Por esa razón también se mantiene alejado del Garan no Dou, porque no le tienen en mucha estima, y tanto Shiki como Mana le causan terror al ser pilares andantes de mala suerte. El único con el que medio se llevaría bien es Mitsuru, porque ve que este va a traerle fortuna si logra superar sus inseguridades y si logra separarse en algún momento de Mana, y Shiki.

Es, por lejos, el más complicado del grupo, pues en todo sentido es el más superior de todos, solamente siendo superado por Rin en el aspecto de la magia. Sus ojos le permiten prácticamente ver el futuro, su dinero e influencia son gigantescas, y aunque no es muy buen luchador es bastante mejor que el promedio, sólo no es tan eficiente como los demás. Así que todos lo detestan pero él se divierte con ello porque sabe que sin él el grupo colapsa.

A pesar de su mala actitud, es totalmente capaz de ayudar a los personajes más incidentales solamente por diversión, sobre todo a Gary y a Fenrir aunque a éste último no sepa del todo como lidiar con él a pesar de ser quien más pasa tiempo en su casa porque es así como Shiki es un pilar de mala suerte, Fenrir es lo opuesto, entonces le conviene tenerlo cerca. Así que en el fondo no es mala persona, sólo es un hedonista engreído, y por eso a pesar de los roces los otros no quieren que se marche.

Es el único que vive por cuenta propia, y el único que es capaz de estar constantemente en movimiento resolviendo casos por su cuenta o enviándolos a propósito hacia Rin. Su trabajo en equipo es poco, pero en solitario es el que mantiene al grupo andando. En una de estas misiones en solitario es que él conoce a Fenrir y se lo envía a Rin, así como fue el que desvió el camino de Bedivere para que llegara hasta Arturia.

Fenrir Nisnö es un noruego que viaja por el mundo después de una infancia traumática donde sus padres vivían encerrándolo en todas partes e incluso llegaron a enterrarlo vivo después de que su Origen se manifestó por primera vez, y a raíz de ello descubrió sus ojos misticos, Unchained Eyes. Su Origen es Lobo, que le permite canalizar el poder del animal hasta llegar al punto de incluso transformarse en uno de gran tamaño; sus ojos le permiten liberarse de cualquier encierro o atadura. Sus padres lo consideraban un monstruo, y al no poder abandonarlo, ni tener voluntad para matarlo, lo encerraban en cada sitio que encontraban, le negaban comida, e incluso lo golpeaban hasta dejarlo inconsciente. No es un cazador de rarezas ni de demonios, pero terminó en Japon intentando escapar de sus propios traumas. Por sus ojos y su Origen, Gilgamesh vio la suerte en él cuando un par de Ejecutores de la Iglesia intentaron matarlo y éste simplemente se escapó de las trampas y los mató sin pensarlo dos veces, y decidió reclutarlo bajo sus propios terminos para ayudar a Rin en casos dificiles. Él accedería, pero finalmente se daría cuenta que no era enteramente lo suyo así que sólo los ayudaría en caso de última necesidad, sobre todo porque no se lleva bien con nadie por su mal carácter, aunque le tiene algo de cariño a Rin y respeto a Arturia, y no sabe cómo definir su relación con Gilgamesh.

Sería mucho mas cercano con Touko, porque ella buscaría estudiarle y usarlo de conejillo de indias como sucede con Bedivere y Gary, pero aún así ella no termina de agradarle. La ayuda porque es la única que no parece tenerle miedo. Por otro lado se llevaría particularmente bien con Shiki, ya que ninguno es de hablar demasiado, y probablemente Fenrir decidiera recibir clases de combate de ella, así como aprender a usar su Afinidad, Filo, que se parece ligeramente a la de Shiki quien aumenta sus capacidades si usa una katana.

No es particularmente importante en el AU, porque él activamente busca que nadie dependa de él bajo ninguna circunstancia, y le desagrada enormemente la fascinación que Mana tiene por ver su forma animal y de querer verlo más a menudo. Siente que la niña se apega demasiado a él y eso le fastidia enormemente, especialmente porque le ha empezado a agarrar cariño y a verla como una hermana menor, igual que Mitsuru.

Uno de los problemas que el enfrentaría a menudo es escaparse de los Ejecutores, especialmente de Amakusa. Así que más que resolver casos, estaría la mitad del tiempo con el Garan no Dou y/o Gilgamesh, y la otra mitad del tiempo matando y escapando de los Ejecutores de la Iglesia o luchando mano a mano con Amakusa en persona ya que lo consideran una anormalidad del calibre de un vampiro.

Sería el único, además de Amakusa, que no tiene ningún apego con nadie que podría terminar en algo romántico de ninguna de las dos asociaciones. Lo más parecido a eso que tiene es Gilgamesh, y ni siquiera él mismo está seguro de si su asunto con Fenrir es un capricho o que le tiene afecto genuino por la indignación que le da que alguien haya tenido semejante vida tan miserable y carente de afecto y placer de todo tipo. Fenrir estaría muy alejado de todos, y viviría su vida en automatico sólo yendo va a donde le piden si se siente con ganas de hacerlo, y debido a su mal carácter probablemente para él sale mejor estar con la gente del Garan no Dou donde no tiene que socializar demasiado (excepto cuidar de Mana cuando Mitsuru no está) o a solas con Gilgamesh que tiende a no estar en casa.

Opinión de Star Wars: Clone Wars (Tartakovsky Vol 1.)

En la espera y puente entre el episodio 2 y 3 de Star Wars, Lucasfilm cedio los derechos para que alguien le haga una serie de cortos a Star Wars, Tartakovsky aceptó la propuesta e hizo esto. Tartakovsky es un master en hacer series animadas entretenidas, el hizo Samurai Jack, Primal, ayudó en Las Chicas Superpoderosas y Dexter. Teniendo eso, los cortos de Star Wars se centran en la guerra que estaba presente en los filmes.

Hubo un manejo excelente para un escenario amplio y no explorado por las películas para mostrar de cerca aquellos conflictos que muchos en ese tiempo hubieran solo imaginado. La acción es desmedida, algo que se buscaba, una sensación de una guerra y no una simulación de esta.

Puedo destacar, dos momentos del primer volumen de cortos, cuales son la pelea de Assajj y Anakin, uno de los primeros vistazos de Anakin siendo propenso al lado oscuro de la Fuerza, con una pelea excelentemente animada y con Duel of Fates de fondo.

El segundo momento destacable, es la primera pelea que se muestra del General Grievous, es una forma atemorizante de presentar al personaje, primero solo la voz avisando que se rindan, después su presentación física, matando a un padawan que era Shaggy.

Los jedis describen a Grievous como un droide invencible, es un as para pelear con multiples jedis, dejando fuera a 3 jedis según lo que yo habia visto. Es un arma poderosa y lo mejor que he visto de las precuelas. Mejor parte de esto es que Grievous no tiene tuberculosis

Toca esperar para ver el segundo volumen, porque lo vi con amigos, pero el primer volumen es recomendable para la gente que quiera. Aunque no sea canon, es bueno verlo, te entretiene y de lo mejor de Star Wars.

- 8-7.5/10: Vlad, Achilles, Shakespeare, Caules

- 7: Chiron, Fran, Atalanta, Karna, Fiore, Darnic

- 6, I start not caring: Gordes

Mordred: SHE. Higashide’s best accomplishment in winning me over no matter other flaws. Tie with Gilgamesh as my favorite Nasuverse character ever.

There isn’t a single thing I don’t love about her (bar that atrocious “dress” under the armor, delete that). The armored and casual character design. The backstory as abused and exploited child who tries to break free of her mother influence and plots but ends up following them anyway because of her other parent rejection and, ultimately, how Morgan life lasting damage could not be undone without support. Her snarky, bratty, selfish and ferocious personality she show to the outside world and the hidden insecurities, the good heart and the ability to reflect on her flaws. Her loyalty and her desperate need for parental love and recognition as her own person. Her fighting style that is a delight to read or watch, truly a beast. Her chemistry and relationship with Shishigou, all of it. How it start in that cemetery, how develops over the course of the story, how she manage to open, connect and trust him and ultimately find a real father in him.

If I have to find a “wish this was expanded on” is her written in but not recognised by canon issues with gender/presentation which wasn’t a real issue for me until I read metas here and I’m now quite confused especially on how to write her (him?) in the future, when I’ll hopefully get at it.

The only reason I don’t completely wish for her and her Master to have been made MCs is the love I have for the following two guys and this couple steal too much of a spotlight from other characters.

Still, while theirs is a story more focused on personal growth and healing then deciding the fate of a great number of people or the world, in the end Mordred and Kairi saved each other so it could’ve still meshed neatly with the overall salvation theme. Sadly it was not meant to be but I’m more than content for what we got.

Jeanne: She. Who gets only second place and no caps lock because, a surprisingly good portrayal none withstanding, she could’ve been even better had Higashide done a bit more research (in his favour, I don’t know what kind of books on her are translated in Japanese and if the processes transcripts are among them).

For example I’ll forever maintain that, while the whole “romance” thing has a historical base (funny that, uh?), it required a way better realisation and as it’s written in Apocrypha does her character a disservice. Laeticia too, who was a potentially interesting “device” and could’ve been our outsider perspective, got derailed into more nonsense romance and aww poor Sieg and oh man, who-gives-a-damn: not me.

Also, not enough of a sarcastic spitfire or military prowess (“just waved the flag”, now that’s a funny way to write “half of Charles’ court was impressed by how good she was with every damn weapon”) for my tastes but I guess historical Jeanne is just that irreplaceable or TM chose to emphasise her piety and “sainthood” over other traits in order to avoid an Arturia 2.0.

Not a single mention to her mentors either, in 5 volumes (which is bad, extremely bad, Higashide why) and too much of Gilles de Rais nonsense but unfortunately Type Moon is committed to roll with it. Dunois, La Hire and d’Alencon never, poor me.

That said, Fate!Jeanne is really a good interpretation, firmly rooted in history and I love, love her.

Her faith and lack of hate are spot-on and are treated with respect instead of mocked.

She’s allowed to have a no-nonsense and even ruthless soldier like attitude, a protective streak (which always remind me of that promise she made to a young noblewoman to keep her husband safe and bring him back to her, or how she took care of her young squire. Both survived her) and loth of empathy at the same time.

She’s down to earth but can also be immature and have flaws and be tempted.

This post is already long as it is, so here’s some more reasons I love Apo Jeanne:

My eternal greatest disappointment will forever be the lack of a satisfying confrontation with Shirou. You write someone able to shake Jeanne d’Arc convictions, make her doubt her conduct and moral standing when the threat of torture and the Rouen process weren’t able do so... and you don’t follow on it? Unforgivable.

Shirou: This guy. This absolute mess of a human being. I need more and no, GO, “evil alternative self” isn’t what I mean (but yeah, gimme him too). After discovering him in Apocrypha I started digging my university library to hunt down his IRL self story and there is no higher accomplishment for a Fateverse character for me. Fascinating person and fascinating take by TM, double so since I discovered dude’s still being vilified in contemporary Jp stories/entertainment and man do that enrage me.

It’s like someone mixed up a character I love (Kirei), one I loathe (Kiritsugu), shaked it and the result it’s the best possible one I could ask for.

I like the character design (both), the historical and post 3HGW backstory and how it shaped him into a Jeanne opposite (for excellent reasons), the most “Kotomine” traits like the snark and trollish attitude and how they cover all the suffering, despair and hate boiling under the constant smirk. How Higashide avoided the “turned evil” interpretation that’s prevalent in jp entertainment and made him a good person and a hero, if a misguided one and also the trapping of a “void/hollow inside” personality and instead gave him those fragments where you see he’s still a 17yo kid.

He’s not just interesting, he’s funny to read, even with all the angst going on.

The interactions with Shakespeare are great and... his relationship with Semiramis. Man, that’s excellent, excellent stuff. Can’t gush enough about how much I love them together <3

My only great complaint -for now, until I see a certain late discovery with my own eyes- is that all the narrative build up and comparisons between him and Jeanne (done in-universe and acknowledged within the text mind you, I’m not headcanoning here) went wasted.

How can you write two characters who mirror each other so perfectly, put them as “head” of their factions, in the same role both... and not deliver with a confrontation? The only thing that tried to do so was -ironically- the anime in ep #13, as their confrontation in the novels wasn’t as personal and as good as the anime.

Shishigou: best father ever, 100% should legally adopt Mordred. He was/is extremely enjoyable to read about, snarky, smart, his fucked-up magus backstory had long lasting effects but managed not to destroy him, on the outside your tough, broody mercenary making hard decision but actually a good, moral person with a caring nature and, again, a great father.

As already said, his and Mordred narrative is less tied to the different views of salvation theme and more to the “people making their wishes come true” and they’re bit of outliers for the whole duration of the story but I wouldn’t change a thing (except one T_T).

His relationship with Mordred is one of the absolute highlights of Apocrypha for me, in every medium.

Semiramis: shallow reason first: charming, scheming, hot asshole-ish royalty in league with a Kotomine troll, what more could’ve I asked for? That she was an interesting char in her own right, which is what I got.

More in-depth, she’s another character I never have enough of. Begrudging sole responsible adult of red team, I couldn’t help but grin every time she had to deal with AKA team or single members, not to speak of her scenes with Shakespeare, which are both amusing and very good for characterisation.

She may not have that much of screen time compared to other faves but earned her place by making what she had memorable.

Her backstory is simple: abandoned child learns to exploit her society view on women to rise to the top and get everything she wants and fuck everything else. Which not only neatly establish how and why she became what she is but also why this broken kid, which is a sort of her exact opposite, fascinate her so much.

Speaking about our broken resident Kotomine, her chemistry with Shirou is simply great, all of their scenes are a joy to read. They have fun plotting together, they (she, dude’s either too young to notice or just let it go) casually flirts, have a functioning, mostly open relationship from the get-go that works no matter how messed up they really are and get each other’s back until the very end. Most of the more lighthearted stuff is in vol 1-2, then things gets more interesting.

See, as much as she seems to be (and like to present herself as such to enemies) the perfectly devoted Servant and is aiding Shirou… she’s also truly villainous, cold and ruthless as hell and is also very conflicted and switch back and forth on what she wants, not much as out of the War as instead from her Master in particular (don’t think bad… okay, do) for the whole series. Vol3 and 4 are a godsend for her character and you dunno how I wish we had more than a bare bone summary for vol 5 because god damn some things in that summary.

With the many, many stay night or Zero parallels and homages in Apocrypha, she come off as a sort of reverse Zero Gilgamesh and Gilles in being, respectively, the devilish member of the Kotomine - Servant pair and the “personal involvement/interest in the saint figure, sometimes verging on the creep-ish, predatory behaviour" one (Gilles was 100% full on creepy mode, Semiramis keeps her thoughts for herself and is just tempted. I strongly appreciate), “reverse” for being conflicted, but in the end being a better person than both dudes above and respecting and knowing her partner enough to let go of her worst desires/frustrations. There’s some really good stuff in these two’s relationship, let me tell you.

If Mordred-Shishigou take the cake for best platonic relationship in Apo, Semiramis and Shirou single handy destroy every competition for the romantic one.

Rank “You. I like you”, 8-7.5/10

Vlad: here’s someone I’m pretty content with how he’s written (I wouldn’t change a thing), but really wish had had more space just because I enjoyed him a lot. Higashide nailed him and I wanted more of a historical Vlad III who is a hero, a good ruler caring for his country and a ruthless warrior and executioner and none of this aspects negate the others. Plus, it was refreshing to see a Vlad III being so clearly separated from the “vampire” twist that his wish for the Grail was to erase book and legacy from existence.

Achilles: a simil Alexander, I dislike the IRL/myth dude but can’t stay mad with their Fate incarnations. I like his personality, his quirks, his relationships with Chiron and Atalanta. Loved the mocking duel (and the anime committee will hear me scream from the other side of the world if I get robbed of it yeah, I wrote this part before ep17. Fuck you A1).

I don’t even think he needed more screen time, he’s really fine with what’s shown. Not every character need to be a main one and Achilles manage to be a good secondary one, with enough development and characterisation.

Shakespeare: here’s an enjoyable dude I like to hate. Amusing character, his interactions with Semiramis and Shirou are a joy to read or watch, but, fuck this guy. May Moriarty and Saber Gilles have their way with you in Chaldea.

Caules: one of those rare beasts known as “perfectly functioning siblings” of the Nasuverese. Respect his Servant and tries to do her right till the end. A good dude.

Chiron Atalanta Karna Fran Fiore Darnic

Not really anything to say about each one here. They’re fine as they are.

Could’ve used more Darnic, the 3HGW is a fascinating subject no matter who the Einzbern decide to summon and his actions shaped the whole world of Apo. Personally I’d have cut the Jack business and expanded him as a character/treat, maybe to shed light into CT politics and magus society fuckery (because if there’s something the Yggdmillennia as a whole and each one of them in particular show is how the magi society is an aberration that twist and corrupt everything it touch). But in the end I know it was either Ygg vs CT as promised or Rulers against each other and I’ll gladly take the latter. A longer series could’ve had space for both, who knows.

Avicebron: also know as the poor thing similar to the antagonist in background and wish that could’ve worked with the themes while also being a personal foil to the protagonist in being a golem/artificial life creator and user but the writer couldn’t/wouldn’t bother with him for some reason and he only got to be the “Gilles de Rais summon Chtlulu and heroes have to team up to bring him down” of Apocrypha, with no other purpose than being a Zero “homage”.

To add insult to injury, the Adam threat does literally jack shit on a narrative point because “Servant goes stray and threaten the world, Servants form both factions have to team up to defeat him” already happened, 2 episodes before for the anime, end of vol2 vs beginning of vol3 for the novel version. And Mordred and Shishigou making an alliance with the surviving Black members was already going to be a thing after the Gardens mess. Shame, shame and shame.

Siegfried: tainbocuailnge here has written some good meta about him lately and, yeah, perhaps all of that was intended, and I can kinda appreciate it. The point is that I couldn’t give a single crap over the OC when for him to come into being means sacrificing freaking Siegfried. I may not have read as much or being already attached to the literature/epic character like other cases but… no, just no. Siegfried deserved way better than what he got in Type Moon.

Add more personal bitterness because with such numbers I thought it was finally time for the Heroes to shine and for the Masters to be sidelined and instead we got super special super powered MC. To hell with it.

If anything, Siegfried may be the only character the anime did more good than damage. He’s still there and sometimes get to act as a mentor instead of being a useful power up and then fucking off for the remaining 4 volumes.

Astolfo: I’ve tried to like him but to no avail (rest assured, though, that I’ll deck anyone who’ll try use that t*ap or “girl” bullshit).

It has to be that unholy combination of extremely airhead personality and mannerism, all the screen time he gets that could’ve gone to my favourites, that idiotic attempt at a “love triangle” (for the love of God, Higashide) and a voice acting that, I swear, even if I already didn’t like him from the novel the anime would’ve been the nail in the coffin. All these combined make him grates on my nerves like few other Fate characters. Perhaps part of my distaste comes from being unable to shake the feeling that the author himself don’t respect him.

I realise it’s quite… unfair, because on the page he has everything I usually like: he’s brave, he’s kind, he has morals and will maintain them in front of everything, he stand up to assholes, he save and inspire people, you can overpower him as much as you like and he still won’t care and will still fight you.

Astolfo is a good, decently written character and I really wish the franchise would just stop using him as a joke and stop being so gross to him in order to cater to even more gross “fans”.

If I were to put tastes/guts feelings aside, I could praise him for pages. I simply can’t bring myself closing the gaps from appreciating the undeniable qualities to actually like the character.

Rank: fluctuating between “your concept should’ve been handled by a more experienced narrator” and “goddamn, does your very existence piss me off”, pending more on the second as we go on, less than 4

Sieg: on the page kid’s got a good arc. An homunculus, a magus’s tool, trash to be used and disposed off, gains consciousness and, shaped by what he witness and the actions and sacrifices of heroic figures, rise to free his kin from their slavers and then find himself fighting to “save the world”. How he attained freedom and have come to interpret it and his experiences put him in the path of the antagonist and the two and their “ideologies” makes for an interesting double face of the coin, forced salvation vs free offer and answer to actual prayers. Sounds pretty great.

Unfortunately, Higashide aimed too high for his skills or didn’t learn well from Nasu and Shirou Emiya, or both.

Otakus mad because he “got the waifu” aside, Sieg do come across as too damn lucky and overpowered and there is a limit on how much the in-universe reason “damn, the Counter Force had to work hard to give him a chance to stop a Heroic Spirit with hundreds time his experience” can go before the readers start getting annoyed at Heroes dropping dead or getting sidelined just to push him forward.

I’m not a fan of these buzzwords, but the impression he’s a fan fiction OC that force the original and more interesting cast to revolve around/sacrifice for him or hijack their plots is damn strong. Scrap it, it’s not an impression, it’s exactly what happen. In at least 4 or 5 cases.

There were also too many times he bore me to death so not really what you want from your protagonist.

Another thing, more grave than personal preferences: his wish/fight firstly go nowhere, then get resolved too quickly without a fuss and then, once his goal has been effortlessly achieved, he proceeds to tag along and stole duels and confrontations from other characters, on which he had no stakes nor reason to be. What kind of writing is this?! He get the contract with Astolfo, walks in the castle and the Yggd agree on releasing the homunculi. And that’s it. Wow?

Also here’s my 100% personal reason for not having an ounce of interest in Sieg, godly writing skills or not: for once, just once, we could’ve got our first Fate solo female protagonist. An all-around badass but, at the same time, not an Arturia nor Shiki nor Arc nor Aoko clone. Who just happened to be my favourite historical figure ever.

Could’ve kept the same theme of opposing concepts of salvation, brought the Ruler vs Ruler/Saint vs Saint thing in the spotlight, with all their nice baggage of similar lives resulting in opposite views by different regrets and traumas, faith or lack (that instead got all swept under the rug, and man if the self awareness of vol4 isn’t something to behold) and after five years I still feel personally robbed of all of this, especially when it became clear Apocrypha was yet another “male protagonist with the world revolving around him while the female heroine gets to be his support/sidekick. Oh, and as already said, he get the confrontation with whom the narrative builds as her rival”. Because of course he does.

You don’t sideline Jeanne frigging d’Arc and expect me to forgive you for it.

Jack and Reika: ye god, why. The concept behind this Jack the Ripper? I find Fake ver superior but I’m on board. Then, first, that fucking character design. Sorry BL, reddit, MAL and whatever: putting a child in a thong is a revolting choice of character design and no, there’s no “well, she learned from prostitutes” that count. I appreciate at least the connection made with Atalanta. But the execution. Their “plot” drag and drag on and goes nowhere (hilariously so in the anime. What was the point of Jack killing some random homunculi and disappearing for the whole arc, again?). Their only narrative purpose is doing ???? for roughly three volumes, *do that* to Atalanta and shaking Sieg’s worldview. At least they grant Jeanne some badass solo scenes and to us more insight on her character. Still the equivalent of a anime-only filler, and a bad one.

Pity, really, because a child Jack who 1. is a child and act as one and 2. get heavily influenced by her/their Master and thus could either become a better person or be exploited wasn’t that bad of a twist for a famous figure but the pair was never allowed to be more than “Apo pair of rogue murderers”.

Celenike: just… begone. I cheered when she died in the novel, cheered loudly when she died in the anime and will cheer even more loudly when she will die in the manga.
