What’s your take on the idea that a “realistic” large flying dragon should have a short tail so as to lessen drag? Long tailed Pterosaurs and early birds were all fairly small. Birds have short tails, as did the largest Pterosaurs. Bats are variable but they’re small.
So when we say 'my take' are we meaning...
My Take As a Scientist
This is sound logic! In every large flying animal (we're talking Azhdarchid pterosaurs such as Quetzalcoatlus, or giant Cathartiformes birds like big vultures or Argentavis) the tails are short.

We just know this as a fact; every flying animal over a certain size has a small tail, and from our own experiments creating aircraft we can safely assume this is to reduce drag.

Our long-bodied planes all have horizontal and vertical stabilizers on the end of the tail - the horizontal ones act as an extra earofoil to generate lift - similar to the tail feathers of birds. Our long bodied planes lack the dexterity of fighting planes, who are triangular (so the 'wing' extends down the full body, no tail) or have much shorter tails compared to the long bodied planes.

Planes have the added benefit of being lifted by jets rather than powered muscles. To make a dragon or monster a similar size to a plane, it would need equally novel ways to propel itself, and then it's tail would need to be short, ideally with horizontal flukes (think whale tail) so the tail could provide lift to perhaps counteract the drag. A creature of this size would not have nippy, fast flight; even thermal currents would be difficult for it to soar on (which is how large vultures manage to fly most of the time). Sure the dragon could get from A to B but it could not maneuver or hunt like a hawk or falcon while doing so. And it's tail? Kinda short.

My Take As A Dragon Designer
As a dragon enjoyer I think dragons should have long tails - it ties them back to being majestic serpents from cosmology. Behind every legend that's "a dragon was slain here" is a "loathesome wyrme spat poison in a ditch" and behind that is a "ancient serpent symbol of dark and scary waters". Dragons should have the tails because they are fun.
So how do we make fun snakey dragon tails work when we know that logically, physically and biologically we need less tail to reduce drag while flying?
We could accept the dragon has short and powerful flights like a galliform (chickens, pheasants, peacocks) - peacocks can fly (not long distances like an albatross, but enough to be in the sky and get from A to B) while having 60% of it's length be long, dramatic tail feathers. Tail feathers are lighter than a meaty tail, but from an artistic perspective you can get a good wing-to-tail ratio for your dragon designs.

Alternatively you could go down the route of one of my favourite dragon designs ever and basically make a plane-shaped dragon and stick a swishy tail on the end for fun - the Ikran from James Cameron's Avatar are basically fighter-plane shaped with a thin tail sticking out the back. Realistically that little tail is contributing drag, but aesthetically we're enjoying this very cool dragon design.
Another take is something like the Legiana from Capcom's Monster Hunter games - this dragon has a thin whiplike tail which has extendable flaps - these flaps can form another lifting surface (think horizontal flukes on the plane tail or tail feathers of a bird). Legiana would still experience drag, but the way it can change it's surface area to meet it's aerodynamic needs is something fun you could consider in dragon design.
Of course Avatar and Monster Hunter take place in fantasy worlds with lower gravity (actually stated in the Avatar film about Pandora, and Monster Hunter's low gravity is just a fun theory because all the weapons and monsters are huge and you never suffer fall damage) - this doesn't affect drag but does affect the amount of lift compared to creature body size needed to be airborne!
My Take As Author Of Dracones Mundi Specifically
So this issue does not affect the Dracones Mundi dragons because they fly by levitation magic. This allows me to even allow wingless dragons, such as East Asian dragons, to fly around. As my dragons 'swim' through the air, long tails are permitted as they move like crocodiles, eels, sharks - all things that benefit with added length to their anguilliform-to-subcarangiform locomotion.

To get into the gritty details, my dragons have magical fat throughout their bodies, and these fats produce a magic field that interacts with atmospheric magic, so they are 'swimming' through the atmospheric magic rather than through the air, their bodies pushing and pulling against unseen forces. So their tails aren't dragging as much because they are being used to actively push through the magic to propel the dragon forward.

Sorry if you might have been asked this before, but do you have any advice on how to draw character poses? I always seem to have a problem with how to draw the shape and it never turns out right.

Start with the torso! It defines so much about the character's possible flexibility.
Being more specific, before the pose is finished the only anatomy I consider are the horizontal/vertical alignment of the body, and once I got used to that, proportions. If you worry about muscles/bones at this point you'll just overwhelm yourself. In particular, the hips/legs, arms/collar bone, and neck/chest and upper/lower torsos should line up cleanly with each other. My poses usually start more like the right example, before I add other stuff to see if I like the vision.
These also act as reference points when doing weirder angles and poses, so you can track where the body should be even if its off camera or the angle is throwing you off.
Shapes are very abstract but I got a couple things.
Don't worry about breaking anatomy at this stage. If the shape *feels* cool, just go for it. As long as you keep in mind the essential reference points, you can probably make it work. Super “correct” anatomy doesn’t lend itself to fun shapes. Have fun.
When I first started I drew with my wrist as the pivot point. Wrists are nice for writing small and precise lettering, which is like, the opposite fun and interesting shapes need. You may consider using your elbow or shoulder instead. They create broad, varied shapes far more easily.
If you're not sure what you want from a shape, you can assign traits to your lines and shapes. Convex/concave, soft/sharp, rounder/straighter, etc. Ideas will come easier with better anatomy understanding.
Long term Lesson Plan:
ALOT of Timed Gesture Drawings. You can google it easy. The big skill here is quickly identifying/drawing the essentials of any given pose. I've done countless of these, and it is boring.... but it just be like that sometimes.
Study bone/muscle structure. Again it’s google able. It's the body’s frame so it will influence your shapes (your shapes for bony areas would differ from the ones with more fat/muscle). My method was drawing a bone and muscle structure over real photos/artwork from various poses and angles.
From here I did long-form studies on various pictures. Some were real photos but I also did studies on @/chaesuart from twitter. They have a strong grasp on this stuff and do a lot of crazy poses to push you.
I did a lot of this studying last month actually and my poses do feel much better. Although actually creating poses from scratch is still a challenge (I rely a lot on good references).

Also distinguish between styles like Neo-Baroque, Neo-classical, Neo-Gothic, etc.?“
Buildings are a really unique way to set the scene. In fact, I’ve read plenty of books where the buildings felt like characters in their own right, rather than just spaces where a story was set. There is so much to gain from being able to capture a building or the architectural style of a region really well, and that goes for both those writing about the same world we inhabit, or if you’re writing genre fiction that requires a completely custom-built world.
Understanding basic architectural elements
Every building is made up of unique details and component parts that come together to give a building its unique, architectural style. When describing a building, or an architectural style, it’s important to have the vocabulary to properly describe what you’re seeing. So here’s a quick primer. The list is by no means exhaustive, but hopefully covers some of the more common architectural elements:
Facade: The main exterior face of a building.
Foundation: The base that supports the structure.
Architrave: This most often refers to the decorative, moulded frame of a door or window.
Cornices: Horizontal decorative moulding at the top of walls.
Skirting: Horizontal decorative moulding at the bottom of walls.
Columns or Pillars: Vertical supporting elements that transmit the force of the elements above to what is below. If these take the form of a female figure, then they are known as caryatids.
Corbel: A bracket-like structural feature designed to hold the weight of what is above it. These are often decorative.
Buttress: A structure built against a wall to prop up or reinforce the wall. Usually these look like flat ramps on the outside of a building, but a flying buttress looks visually like an arch and are used when a building has a vaulted ceiling.
Pilasters: Decorative columns that appear to be embedded in walls that can either be decorative or load-bearing.
Gable: A triangular section of a wall between the sides of a sloped roof.
Pediment: In classical architecture, a triangular gable is called a pediment.
Finial: An object that marks the top, or end, of an architectural element, often used to decorate domes, towers, or gables.
Dormer: A structural element that protrudes vertically from a roof. These offer additional headroom or light into the roof space and can be added to a building post-construction.
Coping: The capping or covering of a wall to give it a finished look.
Cupolas: Small dome-like structures placed on roofs.
Baluster: A small moulded shaft that supports a handrail of a staircase, balcony, or parapet. A series of balusters are called a balustrade.
Arches: Curved structures spanning openings that can support weight.
Moulding: A decorative finishing strip (architrave, cornices, and skirting are all a type of moulding).
Common architectural styles
Architectural styles are incredibly varied, but we tend to talk about only a select few that have been influential internationally, which are often quite Euro-centric. There are lots of incredible styles that are worth your time and research, however I’ve outlined some of the most common styles you may have heard about below so you have an idea of what to look out for:
Baroque: Characterised by highly decorative and theatrical features, the Baroque architectural style originated in Italy during the late 16th century and expanded throughout Europe. Designed to amaze, it used visual and theatrical effects, including domes, painted ceilings, grand staircases, mirrors, sculptures, columns, and oval rooms.
Romanesque: There have been several Romanesque movements, but the first took hold in Europe from the 10th century and the beginning of the 11th century. Characterised by thick walls and bare facades, its interiors were richly decorated with frescoes.
Gothic: Gothic architecture was a popular style in Europe from the late 12th to the 16th century, lasting even longer in some places. The term “Gothic” was first used as an insult during the Renaissance by people who preferred classical designs. Gothic architecture is known for its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses. It also includes detailed stonework and colourful stained glass windows, making Gothic buildings both elegant and imposing.
Neoclassical: Neoclassical architecture, as the name implies, is a revival of Classical architectural styles, drawing inspiration from Greek and Roman designs. Buildings from the 18th century often resembled Greek and Roman temples. This style is characterised by clean, elegant lines, a simple and uncluttered look, free-standing columns, and large, imposing structures.
Brutalist: Brutalist architecture emerged in the 1950s in the United Kingdom as part of post-war reconstruction efforts. This style is defined by its minimalist approach, emphasising raw building materials and structural elements rather than decorative designs. Brutalist buildings often feature exposed, unpainted concrete or brick, sharp geometric shapes, and a mostly monochromatic colour palette. Steel, timber, and glass are also commonly used in these constructions.
So how do you write it?
Focus on distinctive features
Identify unique architectural elements.
Highlight unusual materials or colours.
Are there any historical modifications that change the look and feel?
Has the building sustained any damage, or is there any wear and tear?
Emphasise scale. Which parts of the building are meant to look large and imposing, and which are more designed to be small and invisible?
Consider the building’s relationship with its surroundings. Does it complement or contrast with neighbouring structures?
What is the building’s function and how does its design serve that purpose?
What is the overall impression or emotional response the building evokes?
Pay attention to lighting, both natural and artificial, and how it interacts with the structure.
Highlight any significant architectural patterns or repetitive elements.
Examine how people interact with and move through the space.
How does it look?
How does the light interact with the building’s surfaces at different times of day and in different weather?
What kind of shadows does it cast, and do these change?
What kind of colour variation is there in the construction?
Are there any distinctive weathering or age marks?
How does the surrounding environment reflect in its windows?
Is there any plant life growing on or around it?
What distinctive architectural patterns stand out?
How does it feel?
What texture does it have? Is it made of stone, brick, wood, or some other more material?
What is the temperature of the surface? Is this in keeping with its surroundings or is this unusual? If so, why?
You can show the passage of time with how smooth certain elements are. Handrails, walls, and steps can all be worn down. Are these elements worn, or crisp and angular?
Are walls smooth or rough to the touch? What does this say about what happens to the building? This could be through the passage of time, exposure to the elements, or the social lives of those who exist in or around it.
Is there any moisture on the walls? Is this expected? What does it say about the general state of repair?
How does the wind and the air move around the building? Are the wind tunnels, or is the air surprisingly still?
How does it sound?
Does sound echo when it bounces off the walls or is it dulled?
What sound does the air make when it interacts with different surfaces?
Does it have any distinctive sounds, like creaking floors or banging pipes?
How do footsteps sound on different surfaces?
Are there any building-specific sounds like the ringing of bell towers or chimes?
Are there natural sounds associated with the building, like the scurrying of insects and small animals on a garden roof?
Research and worldbuilding
Whether you’re writing a fantasy building or describing one in the real world, you’ll probably need to have at least a passing understanding of architectural terms. Your readers have a specific frame of reference, so you need to ensure you use descriptions they can understand. A hobbit hole may be a fictional building, but it is still constructed and described in a way that readers can engage with. With that in mind, these research and worldbuilding techniques will help you on the way:
Research appropriate architectural terms. Don’t get bogged down in details, but make sure you’re using the right word to describe the right thing.
Understand basic construction methods. If you’re writing about real-world buildings, then understanding how they’re built is essential. You don’t want to describe a timber frame in a building that is traditionally constructed with the steel frame. If you’re describing a fantasy building, then you need to have an idea of how these are constructed within the constraints of your story world, and stay consistent. It’s also important to determine if different buildings have different construction. After all, a hobbit hole requires a very different construction from Elrond’s house in Rivendell.
Learn about (or invent) local building materials and determine if they’re used in construction, or if materials are imported.
Consider historical context and regional influences for the buildings you’re describing.
Make sure your building has a function. There’s a difference between describing a specific building, or just using a general description for the style of an area. If you’re being specific, then make sure there’s a reason for that specificity.
Common mistakes to avoid.
Don’t overuse technical terms. When you’ve done the research, it’s natural to want to show off that knowledge, but it’s usually not going to be interesting to readers. It’s important information for you to know so that you can use the right words and means to describe something, but if it’s not plot-relevant, technical jargon isn’t all that useful.
Don’t ignore the human scale. A building is only as useful as the purpose it serves. Never lose sight of the fact that the characters will need to interact with it.
Make sure you remember the environmental context. No building exists in a microcosm, so be sure to fit it into its surroundings.
Don’t overlook a building’s cultural significance. In the grand scale of your narrative, it means something. This could be anything from historical to social. But if the building is important enough to describe, then there are important reasons why it is the way it is.
Remember that buildings are more than just structures; they’re repositories of history, culture, and experience. Your descriptions should capture not just their physical appearance, but their role in the story and their impact on characters and plot.

Can I get ROR guys (Thor, Korjuro, Qin and Hades) with Bayonetta Reader?
I went with her Bayonetta 2 design. It's one of my favorite designs of her.
Bayonetta is portrayed as a beautiful woman with a slender yet curvy bewitching figure. She has black hair, gray eyes and a beauty mark on her chin. Bayonetta's hair has been cut short and her glasses have a ribbon design near the lenses. She retains her skin-tight bodysuit, though the design has been radically altered. The suit is more gray in color with jagged patterns resembling thorns and a frilly collar. She has sharp shoulder pads and a cloak of hair over her chest, as well as triangular earrings. The palms of her gloves are blue with frills at the wrists. The back of her suit features a diamond shaped opening, and several diamond cutouts on her legs.
Powers
Bayonetta has an unprecedented skill for the Bullet Arts and shows near mastery of a new weapon whenever she picks it up. Her combat skills are brutal yet graceful. She also appears to be extremely perceptive, able to evade attacks from all directions through anticipating her enemy's movements in battle. She has immense superhuman strength and endurance, being able to toss a satellite back at Balder several times and headbutt an entire skyscraper thrown at her by the former, as well as using only her lower body to redirect an even larger satellite at Aesir. She is also able to effortlessly lift the likes of a Belief and block and hold a thrusting attack from a Valiance; she also was able to physically toss back Fortitudo with the aid of her mother, Rosa. She possesses superhuman speed and agility, allowing her to perform numerous acrobatic feats with ease, and able to fight on par with Jeanne, whom was stated to be either just as or stronger than her. She also can lift a light post and physically overpower the likes of Alraune.
Her physical skills, combined with her magic, makes her capable of defeating countless hordes of forces from Paradiso and Inferno. She also manages to hold her own against opponents that overpower her such as the likes of Loptr (and him as the ascended and reborn Aesir)and Jubileus, The Creator, which, in order to be truly defeated, required the aid of another. She also possesses longevity and doesn't seem to age.
As an Umbra Witch, Bayonetta possess varying powerful magics that assist her in her daily life and allows her to fight against even the most powerful of beings. As an Umbra Witch, she is easily capable of seeing the other realm known as Purgatorio and entering it at will. Skilled in the Dark Arts, Bayonetta also possesses some magical abilities unrelated to the dark arts, such as freezing the moisture in the air to form a spear in an attempt to impale her opponent.
Dark Arts & Magic Techniques
• Umbran Climax & Serious Mode: Techniques that allow Bayonetta to enter into an ascended state of power. Both techniques allow her to continually manifest the limbs of various infernal demons and increase her damage output. In Umbran Climax, she also gains the capability to perform "Infernal Weaves" and even recover her health while in that state.
• Witch Time: Bayonetta is capable of using Witch Time to speed herself up, causing enemies to appear to move in slow-motion. This Dark Art is capable of allowing her of countering the likes of Light Speed used by a sage. Furthermore, she is able to "stack" over Witch Time to counter another witch and even a angel.
• Beast Within: A magic technique that allows transformation into various animals.
• Panther Within
• Crow Within
• Bat Within
• Snake Within
• Witch Walk: Bayonetta can use the Witch Walk technique, allowing her the power to defy gravity and walk on any vertical or horizontal surface during a full moon or on select devices created by Lord Aesir.
• Wicked Weaves: Using her hair as a conduit, Bayonetta can use Wicked Weaves to summon forth various demons and also summon forth their limbs to attack.
• Infernal Weaves: An even more powerful variant used during Umbran Climax. At the end of her combos using Wicked Weaves, Bayonetta summons a full demon for a large area-of-effect finisher.
• Infernal Kiss: This allows her to indirectly to control various machines at will, such as in Bayonetta 2, when she blew a kiss at the Cessna-like small plane that contains Enzo while on her way to Fimbulventr before jumping off. Despite Enzo's fumbling, the small plane actually made it all the way to the city she lived in and was only destroyed by angels. This is in contrast to direct control, with which she can shove her middle finger through any machine key holes to take control, such as Enzo's car or even the witches' power walkers.
• Alchemy: Bayonetta is able to gather crystallized magical compounds such as Mandragora Roots, Baked Geckos and Unicorn Horns to concoct lollipops. These can bolster her power, render her impervious to all damage, or simply restore her health or magic.
• Healing Factor: When being stabbed by Luka while being in Strider form in the third game that would normally be fatal for a normal human, it is shown that Bayonetta can heal from the wound in a few seconds.
Torture Attacks
Bayonetta is capable of using special attacks which can deal massive damage to most forces of Paradiso and Inferno. By chanting in Enochian, she can summon various objects to potentially finish her enemies.
Personality
Bayonetta described as nonchalant and is perceived as somewhat callous towards others, such as Enzo, whom she often disregards. Throughout the first game, she's shown to enjoy fighting angels in a playful yet brutal manner, maintaining her cool and even tends to banter with the more serious angels such as the Auditio, as well as Infernal Demons.
Bayonetta tends to enjoy using her sexuality to taunt and tease her enemies and friends alike. She tends to operate alone and prefers to not get encumbered by other people, at least initially. She can also be construed as somewhat impatient, especially towards the more "talkative type" of enemies she encounters such as that of Temperantia and Father Balder.
Despite coming off as callous, Bayonetta has also expressed genuine care and sympathy. It's witnessed that she's done her best to explain to Luka in the past that his father's death wasn't her fault and has been seen taking his venting of anger and frustration to heart. Despite claiming to dislike children, she becomes fiercely protective of her younger self, as well as Loki in Bayonetta 2.After rekindling her friendship with Jeanne, she was willing to risk going down to Inferno to rescue her, placing the blame on herself for not foreseeing Gomorrah's attack in time. She also dislikes being seen emotionally vulnerable; in one instance, Loki wouldn't wake up after she got him out of a lake, making her panic before he woke up laughing, and she kicked him for making her worry. Another is when she saved Jeanne from Alraune; her soul wouldn't wake up, making Bayonetta fear that she had lost her friend, but Jeanne wakes up and she immediately regains her composure.
She is also not above expressing outright anger and hatred, having done so for both her father and Alraune. Despite her close connection to her father, upon re-learning her memories concerning his supposed actions of starting the Witch Hunts, she denounced him. In Bloody Fate, she goes even further and blames him for the death of her mother. However, her hatred for her father dissipated upon learning the truth of her mother's death at Loptr's hands and willingly called him "Daddy" one last time before he sacrificed himself to contain Loptr.
I’ve only recently started to get into Bayonetta, mainly because of the 3rd game because I heard an awesome soundtrack, Fertile Rondo, and she is quite a wild character, isn’t she? I will try my best with this!
-It was strange, having a witch in Valhalla, especially one so powerful such as you, but you had proved that you were a strong warrior, one worthy of being in Valhalla.
-You were very extravagant, from your outfits and shoes to your fighting style, using magic and using your hair to fight, sometimes winding up completely nude when you would put your back into your attacks, using contracts with demons, and using guns.
-Many couldn’t help but like you, mainly because you were true to yourself, not willing to compromise for anyone, living your second life in Valhalla the way you wanted to, and you had no filter, you always called things how you saw them, and always called other out on their BS if you knew they were full of it.
-That’s what led you to (Love), who was impressed with not only your power and strength as a warrior, but your personality and humor as well- you were the perfect package!
-Despite being so sexy and alluring towards others, you were incredibly loyal, you never let your gaze wander, and you would always shut anyone who was flirting with you down instantly, not willing to let anyone have the chance to steal you away from (Love).
-(Love) adored you but sometimes you did fluster him, when you would hug him from behind, your arms draped over and around his neck, your chest pressing into the back of his head as you cooed so sweetly in his ear, he always wound up quite frazzled and riled up- but you couldn’t help it- he was so cute when he got like this!
-You liked watching him fight, you would always look like a predatory studying your prey, your gaze unwavering which did unnerve him at first, but now he’s grown used to it and your antics, but every now and then you will make him flustered, watching him so intently, that he would feel almost self-conscious, like you were undressing him with your eyes, which technically you were- he was just too cute for his own good!
-You rarely fought anymore, as you felt like there weren’t many in Valhalla that could give you the challenge you desired- the humans were just that- humans, no matter the strength and skills they had, and many of the gods seemed almost intimidated to fight you, thanks to your contracted demons.
-Every now and then, some of the gods would come to you, seeking the same that you sought out, a challenge, and would ask you for a fight.
-There were some you didn’t give the time of day to, mainly because they would try to make demands of you, like ‘if I win let’s go out on a date’ like you weren’t in a serious relationship!
-On the other hand, there were some, like Hercules, that you knew only wanted a serious fight with you, demanding nothing from you, as he respected the relationship you had with (Love).
-Your fights always drew a large crowd, mainly because you sometimes would lose your clothes when you fought, something (Love) was rather annoyed with and you didn’t like seeing your lover so upset, so you started fighting only in secluded areas so only Hercules or other worthy warriors would see something like that if they forced your hand.
-You loved to tease (Love) sometimes, when he would get jealous if someone else was able to see you, you would always cover him with so many kisses that his brain would melt, leaving him grinning with a goofy smile on his lips while you were licking yours as if you had the most delicious meal.
-(Love) knew despite the sexy and confident personality you liked to display, you were a very kind person, knowing that you sensitive with some things, like with Jeanne whom you were very close with, despite your rebuttals that you weren’t.
-He sees that you are close to the ones you truly care about, even if you don’t always show it and even if you try to deny it, it’s the part of you that not many get to see, but you trust (Love) to not saying anything about your vulnerability when you allow yourself to be weak around him, like you were a normal person.
-You enjoyed being in Valhalla, being with (Love), and you were never bored, that’s for sure!

Tabris/17th Angel/Angelworu reference sheet 2024
Ref sheet for the current design of my take on Kaworu's Angel form

Disclaimer: all the information in this post applies only to my AU version of Kaworu, don't take this as canon info about his biology as an Angel.
Feel free to take inspiration from the design or any other supplementary info in this post (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Introduction: Kaworu Nagisa is a genetic hybrid of human and the 1st Angel - Adam, born as a result of the Contact Experiment. He has lived and looked like a regular human up until entering the Central Dogma. The proximity of another Angel (Lilith) has resulted in a sudden change in gene expression, activating dormant Angel genes. The result was some kind of a rapid transformation/metamorphosis from an almost fully human body to that of an Angel. It has been referred to as Tabris, the 17th Angel, with this particular form being described as the High Angel Gene Expression form.
Anatomy and physiology: Standing at over 3 meters tall, Tabris is the second smallest Angel after microscopic Ireul. Its limited growth compared to other Angels is a result of constraints put on its body by the human part of the DNA. In general proportions, Tabris resembles Adam and subsequently - the Evas, with the exception of its overtly elongated limbs. Like Adam, it emits light, though not nearly as bright, and sprouts Wings of Light, spanning over 18 meters in width with an additional tail-like structure
During the metamorphosis, its core has resurfaced to the center of the chest, changing its position from the one more akin to that of the human heart. The central core containing S² Engine is very tough and resistant to damage but very sensitive to touch. It can become malleable and flesh-like if the AT Field is lowered enough. Instead of beating, it produces a soft humming sound similar to that of the Sun. Two smaller cores underneath it seem to help redirect generated energy to the lower parts of the body.
Additional core situated inside the neck area works as a transmiter, condensing energy from the S² engine before relaying it to the head. Such adaptation is a result of a much higher and centralised brain function compared to other Angels, which requires more energy to work properly.
Excess energy manifests itself in a form of three halos - two vertical ones with spike-like extrusions above the head and a horizontal one around the neck core.
As a member of asexually reproducing species, post-metamorphosis Tabris lacks any sexual characteristics, both internal and external.
Due to the volatile state of its DNA, there is a possibility of further mutations occurring if not killed or removed from the Central Dogma in time.
With enough damage delt to the central core, the transformation can be reverted, though not completely. The resulting form known as the Low Angel Gene Expression form (sketch of this form) is almost identical to pre-metamorphosis Kaworu, with the exception of visible main core and red markings adorning his body (basically looking exactly like the draft sketch) It is a result of the damaged core not being able to provide enough energy to sustain its fully changed form.
Thanks to the extremely powerful AT Field, Tabris' main core can be completely destroyed only by either him voluntary lowering the AT Field or being pierced by the Spear of Longinus. Destruction of the S² Engine results in Angel’s death.
Design notes: It is by no means a wholly new design, just a mere evolution of the ones that came before it. Two main inspirations for the design (like always) have been draft sketches and Adam. With Kaworu’s body being that of a human and Adam being a humanoid entity, I've decided to stick with a clearly humanoid design for Tabris. As much as I love more abstract Angels, I feel like this Angel/human duality is essential to Kaworu's character.
The most drastic change in this instance of the design is its shoulder area. I think these pylon-like structures work much better than spikes as it likens Tabris more to Adam (from what I gathered, these serve as restraints for Adam and Evas but I don't really care :v). Same goes for the change in proportions. Lengthy limbs add to the uncanniness and distance the silhouette from that of a regular human.

I don't know if I have the words for how much stupid silly "12-years-old-girl-screaming-energy" happiness gived me this chapter. I had 2 weeks of 11 hours of work every single day, I lost countless hours of sleep and hadn't seen the sun in days, but man everyday after 7pm, knowing that i got to draw this part was what at the end of the day gave me back almost all the energy and motivatiom.
They are so stupid and in love your honor, I love them so much.

My horrible, no good, very bad, terrible, awful Mold!Ethan design (or his mutation if he’d had one)

clearly heavily influenced by the cleric beast from Bloodborne.
but I do actually have my reasons alongside the fact that I simply think the aesthetic fits well.

Deer/Antlers/Head
To me, Ethan Winters is best signified as a stag; a deer. The cleric beast, while not being completely ‘deer focused’, does have notable traits.
Deer are often thought of as shy, meek, weak prey animals due to their herbivore nature. Though certainly that can be the case, other times it is not. Deer are powerful creatures, quick and nimble. Antlers grown by deer can be strong enough to puncture the body or even cause interlocking, resulting in the eventual starvation of the other male (as well as possible decapitation).
Deer can be dangerous despite their initial appearance. A deer's kick can generate an estimated 700 psi. In comparison, a human punch can generate around 200 psi. They can easily break bone, knock a person down or cause internal bleeding through striking someone.
Ethan is often a character seen as weak or lesser than other Resident Evil protagonists, which I think is quite ridiculous. Drawing the parallel of deer and Ethan being seen as meek is an easy gap to bridge. But both are powerhouses in reality. Ethan is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with, injuries or not. More often than not, he is injuried in some form during gameplay.
Deer, even being hit by a car can still kill a man by kicking him to death through the windshield. (If it survives the initial impact of course.)
His antlers, and by extension head, would be made up of a hard material- possibly bone like. Perfect for ramming, skewering and protection.
Fur, claws, fangs, Skin
As for the fur aspect, I’m going to explain that using headcanon power/kind of canonical shit.
HGT or Horizontal Gene Transfer is the movement of genetic material between organisms other than the ‘vertical’ transmission of DNA from parent to offspring(reproduction).
HGT is present within the games and it is quite literally why Ethan is still Ethan after he is made up from the mold. Miranda uses it as well, disguising as Mia, and even Marguerite Baker ended up as a chimera of various insect genomes intersecting with her own.
All this to say, I believe the fur would come from lycans. But how?? How, dear god, is that even possible if lycans are the result of cadou experiments, emfleaa??? This is where things get more headcanony if they weren’t already. The cadou parasite changes one’s body, altering them heavily or not so unheavily. We know that lycans were the result of the cadou not taking properly to villagers, yet they are still a result of the cadou itself! As for how the DNA would be transferred onto Ethan, my explanation is extremely simple that it’s frankly stupid but apt, in my eyes.
He got his fucking fingers bitten off.
Now, I’m not saying the bite ‘infected’ Ethan, because clearly it didn’t. But for the sake of my little mold critter, I do think some lycan dna was taken in by the mold making up Ethan as a sort of reserve. Probably through the absorption of the lycans saliva through the wound.
And hence, the fur, the claws, the sharp teeth.
The skin, as I could try to depict it, wouldn’t actually be skin. It would more so be like the texture of the Molded from RE7, made up of pulsing mold.

Bloodborne
Bloodborne is so fucking amazing and personally one part sticks out to me and really makes me think of Ethan.
Djura, the retired hunter in Old Yharnam says, “There’s nothing more horrific than a hunt. In case you’ve failed to realize… the things you hunt, they’re not beasts. They’re people.”
I personally believe this sentiment fits Ethan so goddamn well. Especially if he were to mutate at all, into a beast, a monster. He’s still a person, somewhere deep down (probably).
But how or why would he mutate at all?
BLAAARRGHHH if you’re here for non-headcanon explorations into this topic this is where you can check out because I AM NOT GOING TO CLAIM I AM AN ETHAN WINTERS EXPERT. NOR RESIDENT EVIL. I AM SIMPLY A FAN WHO LIKES THIS WHITE BOY.
I truly believe Ethan Winters wouldn’t mutate unless under extreme emotional distress. I don’t believe that extreme physical distress would trigger a mutation within him, as he’s unfortunately fairly used to extreme physical distress. (Hand cut off, leg cut off, hand cut off again, impaled so many times, thrown around like a ragdoll, etc.)
Because of this mutation during extreme emotional states, I think his mutation would be a bit different from the usual “IM KILLING YOU. IM KILLING YOU. I DONT CARE WHATEVER THE FUCK ELSE IS GOING ON, I AM KILLING THAT GUY RIGHT THERE” mutation. I do think Ethan is capable of reacting violently, no doubt. I think he would lash out and create problems, but I don’t think he would actively seek them. To me, Ethan is the best example of the human will to survive.
I believe his mutation would prioritize survival over anything else. Doing whatever he needs to do to survive, no matter the cost, while staying safe.
I think on the chart of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Mold!Ethan would simply want the basic needs. While Ethan himself would want all of them, as is human nature.
Mold!Ethan would not seek violence, unless provoked I believe. (Which would probably happen anyways considering the conditions needed for this mutation to arise to begin with.)
What’s with the eyes/red marks?
On the topic of his eyes, you’re probably thinking, uh, where the fuck are they or why are they closed. Both great questions. My answers?
His eyes are on his face, they’re pretty massive. I imagine that he’d have them closed most of the time, as seeing through such large eyes would be incredibly overwhelming, possibly painful. Once more, I believe he’d only open them out of necessity, or extreme distress.
He’s got those big bulgy eyes like a dog or a rat boggling. (Eye colors were inspired by Jack Baker’s mutated form in the boathouse.)

The red marks along the skin are scarring; I just made them red as a sort of undertone glow that some mutations in the series have. I tried to depict most of his more severe/memorable injuries through the scars left behind, including the exclusion of his two eaten fingers.
Okay that was a lot. Anything else?
yeah uhhh here’s molded Ethan freakin out I imagine him to be like one of those really nervous shaky chihuahuas despite being incredibly tall if he stood up straight (though he quite feasibly can’t, he wouldn’t be able to support his weight)
there’s a whole bunch of shit else but that simply delves into my headcanons of Ethan himself, and idk about exploring them too much here haha, I’m already nervous enough as is with my silly ideas

Pt1
Gazing, admiring. I've done such good work, of course I'm going to take my time. I reposition the mask on my face, letting some air in through the bottom as it shifts. My scrubs, form fitting and black are wrinkled from the earlier struggle. Filled with various tools, ranging from medical lubricant to a simple small notepad and pen. No phone, though. You're my soul focus.
You're starting to stir and I'm starting to get impatient. The general anesthesia is starting to wear off and I feel myself getting more and more giddy. I have you blindfolded, for now. I don't want you too scared, too tight. Your arms are positioned snugly above your head, locked firmly in place. I'm particularly proud of how I bound your hands. Just enough wiggle room but not enough to succeed with any ill intentions. If anything, I'm being generous, giving you such a false sense of freedom. You should realistically be thanking me. But we can save that for later, I suppose.
Your breaths are starting to quicken, your stomach rising and falling so perfect. I tenderly run a few fingers across it, feeling the sparks and warmth of your skin against mine. About "realms" in heaven and the underworld. I heard there are 33 heavens, but then I also see people say it's only 9 heavens. I have a question, did each heavens are like their own realm like Norse mythology nine realms or more like a country, where all of it exists in the same realm with their own region. And did the Jade Emperor rule all of it or just some?
And did the underworld also have multiple "realms" too?
This is a topic that absolutely requires more research on my part (so take it with a grain of salt), but the concept of "layered heaven" as we commonly understood it seem to be a post-Han dynasty development, with a heavy dose of syncretism.
Like, in pre-Qin mythology, the dominant view of Heaven was kinda like going up a leader leading into the attic: the "sky ladder" is usually a giant tree or a tall mountain peak such as Kunlun, and the entrance into the attic is the Heavenly Gate.
Now, the "Nine Heavens" is a phrase that has appeared in Warring States works like Chuci, but if the slightly more specific description in Lvshi Chunqu is any indication, it's not 9 vertical layers but horizontal division of the sky into 9 chunks (similar to the popular spatial conception of the Nine Continents).
This idea of layered Heaven is closely related to the conception of the Three Realms in Buddhism, where there are 6 Heavens in the Realm of Desires (ruled over by Mara), 18 in the Form Realm, and 4 in the Formless Realm.
The Form Realm and Formless Realm are entirely inhabited by devas, and the "layer" of Heavens in all Three Realms indicate different levels of consciousness and detachment from the material world. However, because even those in the Formless Realm are not truly enlightened, they are still not free from reincarnation.
The 33 Heavens is the literal translation of the name for the 2nd layer of the 6 Heavens of the Desire Realm, Trayastriṃśa, which has been interpreted literally and syncretized with Daoist scriptures, but there's also the Daoist Six Heavens of Mt. Luofeng.
It might be related to the "Six Heavens" found in late eastern Han annotations of the Confucian classics, which combines the Heavenly Emperor Haotian with the "Five Emperors" conception of the Han dynasty, where 5 divine emperors each correspond to a direction and one of the Five Phases.
However, the Six Heavens, as it is described in Tao Hongjing's Zhengao, refers to the Six Palaces of ghosts and gods on Mt. Luofeng, who act as judges for the soul of the dead.
Some virtuous people were said to become ghostly officials working in the Six Palaces, and knowing the names of the palaces/palace gates allow one to ward oneself from ghosts and evil spirits.
(There is also the somewhat related idea that the Six Palaces are just the lowest level of the Northern-Southern dynasty Daoist pantheon, staffed with posthumously deified famous ppl.)
It's an interesting intermediary stage in the evolution of the Chinese Underworld mythos...but the Six Palaces of Luofeng is still separate from the later ideas of the Eighteen Hells, which comes from the Buddhist scriptures.
In its earliest incarnation, the 18 Hells refers to either the 8 Fiery Hells and 8/10 Cold Hells, or the 8/10 Great Hells where each Great Hell consists of 16 Minor Hells.
Lastly, for your question: it depends. What I said above is all in broad strokes, but in medieval + imperial China, there are certainly the ideas of some Daoist deities reigning over their own immortal mountains/islands or chunks of heaven (the two are not mutually exclusive) that are functionally similar to a personal realm, as well as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas having their individual Pure Lands.
JE/Heavenly Emperor rules over the entirety of the Three Realms in the same way "All under Heaven" is considered a historical emperor's personal property. A historical emperor neither has the time nor effort to micromanage all of his "property" , but it still falls under his authority.
...Very complicated and not consistent at all, I know. So here's an attempt at a TL;DR through analogies.
Pre-Qin Heaven: An attic with a trapdoor, you climb inside through a really tall ladder. Be careful tho, the ladder is sometimes guarded by mythical beasts. One Confucian variant of the Six Heavens: There's 1 big palace building at the center of the sky, owned by Heavenly Emperor Haotian, surrounded by 5 smaller palace buildings owned by the Five Emperors. A similar later view of the Celestial Realm: Heaven mirrors an IRL palace compound/imperial capital city, divided into multiple palace buildings. Six Palaces of Luofeng: 1 prison compound divided into 6 buildings. The newly dead souls proceed through the buildings in sequence. The Buddhist Layered Heaven: You go up a staircase leading into a multi-storey pagoda, except the higher up you go, the more joyful and incorporeal you become. You still can't defy gravity, tho. The Layered Heaven in the popular imagination: You go up a staircase leading into a multi-leveled government building, and the higher up your office are in the building, the higher your position in the administration.
Chinese Underworld: a giant courthouse-prison-torture chamber complex, but the torture chambers and prison cells are highly specialized and have their own creatively ominous names. Is also the basement of the aforementioned pagoda/gov building.

Because this is no longer strictly during the summer, we're just now calling it StarkerFestivals Bingo 💗
Cards will have a theme and maybe a few theme related prompts for fun. (You can always request a prompt change if any of the prompts aren't to your liking)

How Do You Play?
As a participant, fulfilling prompts can be done at your leisure. We want everyone to have fun, so whether you fulfill 1 or do the entire card, it's up to you! There is no obligation to "win" bingo, but for those who want to go for it:
To "win," you will need to get five in a row via horizontal, vertical, or diagonal means. You can also win by getting the free space and all four corners. Finally, you can get a blackout by completing every square on the board. Visual examples:
Free space is free prompt choice. You can write or draw anything you like as a fill. Just please make sure it follows the rest of our rules as they apply.
Please elaborate on the "one prompt per fill"/multi-chapters?
The only rule is that it is one prompt per fill. The exception would be multi-chapter fics (ex: the prompt "falling in love" can be claimed for chapter 1 and then a 2nd prompt, first kiss, can be claimed for chapter 2. Or you create an accompanying moodboard with the prompt "Falling in love" and the fic is used to fulfill "first kiss".)
Is there an age restriction to join?
All ages are welcome! The sign-up form will ask if you would like SFW, NSFW, or both. Only 18+ participants may receive a card with NSFW prompts.

You can only have one card active at any time. You may ask for another card after you have won your old one. As for a new card, you should receive it within 1-3 days.
Do fills have to be strictly Starker?
They do not have to be strictly starker, but we ask that the focus is Starker since this is a Starker bingo.
Can I use a work to fill both my Starker bingo prompt and another event's?
Yup! We're cool with that, just make sure the other event is also fine with it.

"hi.." i whisper my voice a little louder than the branches cracking behind me. he stares at me clearly in shock and regret, we haven't seen eachother since the breakup and clearly it shows.
i slowly back up keeping my space, i try to let words escape my mouth but they're stuck in my throat same with my breathing, my stomach swirls and suddenly every body part itches from the sweat. his face goes pale blue with sadness and he slightly moves to the side sweetly inviting me in with no words.
i walk past him his strong cologne infecting my nose, i sit down on the couch and place my bag on the scratched up table. as i look around their house there's so many memories i didn't know i'd be so sadly familiar with. like the dent in the wall from when chris threw my heels, the countless coffee stains on the table from my rough mornings here..and the more i look the sadder i get, tears threatening to escape my eyes, it's silly really..i shouldn't be this sad about a ruined wall or table, even looking down hurts my heart; it's like someone is stabbing a hot cigarette into my fragile heart.
"y/n?" he speaks with sadness, i think he has been trying to get my attention but i've been looking around and forming a wetness on my face from my eyes .
i quickly wipe my light red cheeks and straighten up wiping the tears of embarrassment against my blue ripped jeans. i apologise and clear my clogged up throat.
"what are you doing here?" he asks sitting down and licking his lips, a thing he does when he's nervous he doesn't want dry lips and wants to present himself and act like hes not nervous

"y/n.." he says trying to console me "there was someone else?" i ask knowing the answer but unable to believe it, my world just broke in two. the room spins vertically and horizontally and time stops giving me a second to break down, tears escape rather fast and i'm unable to breathe the dizziness taking over my whole body.

I felt a surge of conflicting emotions raging within. betrayal, hurt, and a burning desire to escape engulfed my senses. without a word, I rose to my feet, my movements fueled by a mix of anguish and determination. every step I took echoed the resounding ache in my heart, a painful rhythm that matched the cadence of his footsteps behind me.
I could hear him calling my name, barely as my ears are focused on any other sound than his voice, that one sweet voice that once made me feel the most special but now it's disgusting and tinged with desperation, but I dared not turn back the tears that stung my eyes blurred the path ahead, yet I keep on, driven by my sadness and panic from the shattered pieces of our love. His hand reached out, barely touching my hand, but I still felt the strong energy between us.
the air was thick with unsaid words and broken promises, a weight that hung heavy between us even if we are a 10 minute drive away. i can still hear him pleading to me as i lay lifeless in my bed unable to even flinch or blink. breathing hurts and falling asleep becomes difficult. my mind clouded unable to shut down all alone i lay, without him by my side.
maybe it isn't the right time.

The Myxini, commonly called “hagfish”, “slime eels”, or even “snot snakes”, is the most simple class of vertebrates. They have one order, the Myxiniformes, and 3 families.
Hagfish have a cartilaginous skull but no vertebral column, though they do have rudimentary vertebrae. They also have tooth-like structures composed of keratin. Species range from 4 cm (1.6 in) to 127 cm (4 ft 2 in) long. They have elongated, worm-like bodies, and paddle-like tails. The skin is naked and loose, attached only along the center ridge of the back and at the slime glands. They have simple eyespots which only detect light, six or eight barbels around the mouth, and a single nostril. Their jaws move horizontally rather than vertically like other vertebrates, projecting two pairs of horny, comb-shaped tooth plates that grasp food and pull it into the mouth. They are marine predators and/or scavengers.
Hagfish are most well-known for their defense mechanism: releasing copious amounts of slime from specialized mucous glands in their skin. The slime reacts to seawater, expanding to 10,000 times its original size in 0.4 seconds. This slime is flexible, more durable and retentive than the slime excreted by any other animals. If a predator is not deterred by the sudden mouthful of slime, hagfish can also tie themselves into a knot to scrape more slime off of their bodies, wiggling free from their captor while its gills are clogged. Hagfish will also use this traveling knot behavior to clean themselves of any excess mucous.
Very little is known about hagfish reproduction. They are split into males and females, with females usually outnumbering males. Depending on species, females lay from 1 to 30 tough, yolky eggs. The eggs stick together with velcro-like tufts at either end. They do not have a larval stage and hatch as miniature adults.
The oldest-known stem group hagfish are known from the Late Carboniferous, with modern forms first being recorded from the mid-Cretaceous.

Hagfish thread keratin, the protein that make up their slime filaments, is under investigation as an alternative to spider silk for use in applications such as body armor.
Hagfish slime threads can also be used as ultra-strong fiber for clothing.
Hagfish skin, used in a variety of clothing accessories, is usually referred to as "eel skin". It produces a particularly durable leather used for wallets and belts.
Remember this?

In 2017, a truck carrying 7,500 pounds of live hagfish got into a road accident on U.S. Highway 101. The aggravated hagfish then released enough slime to cover the road and nearby cars. Horror movie situation tbh.
But why were several tons of hagfish being shipped in a truck? Well, they were on their way to Korea for seafood purposes. Yeah. They are eaten in Korea and Japan.
Hagfish have a sluggish metabolism and can survive months between feedings; this is likely due to the scarcity of food on the seafloor. When food is present, such as a dead whale, they can go into a feeding frenzy.
Here I am listing all these ways that humans use them, but hagfish are also an important part of the deep sea ecosystem. Plus… I think they’re cute and I too wish I could produce a bunch of slime when I don’t want people to touch me. I mean, Howl in “Howl’s Moving Castle” does it and people love him, so…
