YOUR VISITOR CONTROLLER MIGHT NEED SURGERY

Hello out there!!! If you use Visitor Controller mod for the Sims 2, it might be broken. I am not sure exactly which version I have ... Midge's that allows togas or the older CrispandKerosene's version with personality options.

The personality settings may be broken because I looked at my file today and sure enough, the BHAVs are not referencing personality properly.

Go into the BHAV "Check Personality Flags" inside Visitor Controller in SimPe.

It should look like this:

The highlighted node should not reference any other value but a number higher than 100.

If you see this:

Then it is broken. Personality has to be referenced in hundreds!

You must change it with the Instruction Wizard which is on the right hand side of Plugin view to make Personality features work, as in banning Lazy Sims from a gym.

The first image shows that Sims with a Neat personality lower than 400, which is 0x0190 in hexadecimal, will be banned from the lot.

Repeat for the other personalities lower in the code.

hello! thank you for all your mods! i was using the visitor controller and wondering, there's an option to ban plagued sims but would it be possible to make it ban healthy sims/only allow plagued sims? i've set up a hospital and only just realized that i can't do that final step D: is it something like a bcon i can edit in simpe myself or would it be more complicated?

It's been a really long while since I've looked at the Visitor Controller, tbh. I probably should, though, since aparently the values I use to check personality scores aren't the right ones? My version isn't the most recent at this point, too. Maybe someone else fixed that. Anyways.

Looking at it now, it looks for "plague" by checking whether the sim has a disease token:

(It returns true when a sim indeed has a disease.)

Its greater context is the check of the sim's various characteristics:

It runs if flag "E" is set. Notice that if the sim is sick, we here return False, because this function determine whether or not we want them on the lot.

Flag "E" is the internal representation of whether to ban sick sims:

So you'd have to edit a couple of BHAVs and the like to add the option in, but you can (re)use the existing check. You'll have to rework the logic a bit, though. I'd help but my brain is kinda fried atm, sorry :x
