W.I.T.C.H. Character Headcanons (bc I say so)

So for those of you who don't know, I'm creating a rewrite of W.I.T.C.H. on Wattpad. It will essentially be if it were given a live action adaptation with a standing total of 60 episodes (5 seasons; 12 episodes per season). These headcanons all apply to said rewrite -- I have my Wattpad linked on my blog so go check it out!

Irma is canonically a Latina lesbian, that's zero debate, however I specifically headcanon her as Guatemalan.

Taranee and Peter Cook are canonically blasian! The Cooks are out here representing the blended families! I will be taking no arguments or criticisms!

I read a post a while ago about how every other fantasy world is based on Medieval Europe, Metamoor/Meridian being one of them and I was like "you know what would be cool? if instead Metamoor was based on Ancient Indian culture." so that's what I did and now Elyon and Phobos are ethnically Indian (Elyon's new name is Elyon Bhandari and I can't think of it as anything else now) (plus Metamoor is actually ten times more interesting with the amount of lore I'm creating for it).

sidenote: I need it to be known that Elyon will also be serving as the vice president of the Sheffield Student Government/Student Council to foreshadow her queenliness and she's also a book girly and she has initiative and Phobos is actually clever enough in his manipulation tactics for Elyon to not question everything until the last couple days leading up to her coronation. I wanted the queen to serve.

Everyone imagine real quick (cartoon) Matt Olsen as a black man. I don't know how I started picturing him black but now I cannot stop because it just works! We need a black lead guitar/lead singer of a rock band everyone will be making thirst edits over who is also humble kind sweet loyal loving-- And can I just say he would look sexy hot with the Shagon dreads! You cannot change my mind on this!

Kio Cyr is literally Eric Lyndon! I found an image with him in a NASA t-shirt and I was like "that's him folks!" Though, I do specifically headcanon Eric as Filipino.

Alchemy is now Alchemy Torres and she's a chem/bio nerd with an affinity for puzzles. I'm still figuring her out but she will gain more importance in S2.

I made a crackship out of Nashter (one of the Runics from the 100% WITCH arc) and Taranee and now it's very very serious. Not only does he have a British accent (do not ask) but he and Taranee are basically a detective duo/partners-in-crime turned besties in S3, which corresponds with the Crisis on Both Worlds arc which means angsty Taranee which means incredible banter between a smartass and a flirt.

And when I tell you that Nashter is the only white Runic I mean it: Darmon is lighter skin black, Shalin is Asian of some sort (specific region TBD), Cromo is dark skin black, and Ran-Rah is indigenous af.

Caleb lowkey is giving indigenous energy? I've barely touched him but the farthest I've gotten is that I saw one fanart of Caleb if he were on Phobos' side originally and now he has a whole defection arc in S1 from head of Phobos' guard to rebel leader in addition with angsty C&C so there's that going for us.

So this is for the W.I.T.C.H. reboot, re: why is Phobos not the heart

I had a thought that maybe its passed down avatar-style, but with like a buffer of a few years? Like If there is no suitable host born around that time then it just like dissipates into the world and gathers again when a new one is born (like it has to be from birth bc. that is what the person /is/, can't change an existing person or smth?), and maybe the previous heart 'died' but went into hiding and then died later, and so the royals had to try again bc obviously the timing was wrong or smth.

This isnt quite as thought out as I want it to be😅 General o

idea though is: prev heart faked their death and so thats why ppl thought it'd be Phobos. Oh! Or maybe it's like. next heir to be /born/ after the prev heart dies is the new heart and rev heart died after Phobos was born! That would make more sense than my earlier rambling 😅

Honestly one of my plot points for my rewrite/reboot is people pretty solidly expecting Phobos and it's a genetic factor through the family line so we have. Three options.

1.) Previous Heart died at a very midway time. I don't think they'd really be hiding or faking their death or anything but like. They died the same day Phobos was born so everyone assumes the power-transfer happened. But order of events was that he was born while the previous Heart died like an hour after but no one noticed/time of death was off/etc.

2.) Affair baby option so the genetic component doesn't apply (would make him and Elyon half-siblings)

3.) The Heart transfers through the women of the family specifically and whoops he's trans and the Heart is trans-inclusive so it skips him.

Visions of Greed Inspirations

My fic isn't finished yet, but I saw a post by @Whatiwishfanfiction where they shared their inspirations for their fanfic: The Great Lorax Movie Rewrite and I also wanted to share some of the things that inspired my own Once-ler fanfic: Visions of Greed (link to fic below).

Long post just FYI cause I was inspired by a lot of things.

The Teen Titans episode Haunted was without a doubt the most inspirational piece of media related to this fic. As I mentioned in the fic's intro, the story was basically created from a desire for more Once-ler content and also more content similar to that episode.

This influence is most notably seen in Chapters 12 and 13, where Once-ler and Greed-ler fight, but the influence is honestly present in almost every interaction Once-ler and Greed-ler have in the fic. I have a lot of fun coming up with all the different ways the interactions between them can be done and making them catered to my preferences (I am adverse to blood, gore, and horror but I like pretty things and animated action scenes.)

Going back to Teen Titans, aside from Haunted, other influential episodes include The Apprentice parts 1 and 2, Fear Itself , The Beast Within, and pretty much all the episodes that feature the villain character, Slade. The character of Slade himself is also one of the main inspirations for Greed-ler's characterization.

Other sources of inspiration:

Miraculous Ladybug is another show that I derived a lot of inspiration from. Not so much specific episodes in the case (With the exception of that scene in Chapter 7 that was a direct reference to the episode Passion where Natalie pinned Gabriel to the table ) But I was instead inspired by the show's overall themes/ideas such as the concept of Akumatization (most notably in Chapter 19), the manipulation and corruption of people's desires by Hawk Moth, the themes of creation and destruction, the changing of personalities with the changing of costumes, Hawk Moth's butterfly motifs, and the melodrama LOL.

The character of Hawk Moth/Gabriel Agreste was also very influential. Hawk Moth, like Slade served as a basis for Greed-ler's manipulative personality. While Hawk Moth's civilian identity of Gabriel Agreste influenced Isabella's characterization in regards to how she treats her son, Once-ler. Gabriel Agreste also influenced the character(s) of Once-ler/Greed-ler himself. I imagine that they would be an influential fashion mogul like Gabriel after they became famous.

Sailor Moon (both the anime and manga) also provided a lot of inspiration, mainly with The character (s) Hotaru Tomoe/Mistress 9/Sailor Saturn (Once-ler's internal struggle with Greed-ler). But also with other tropes and motifs such as Queen Nehelenia and her mirrors, Rei Hino's prophetic nightmares, magical girl tropes in general, and also how beautifully drawn the manga is. I strive to make the words I write and the scenes I create “pretty” in a similar way. Especially the nightmare and hallucination sequences.

Other magical girl shows/manga/comics including Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H., Angel's Friends, and Tokyo Mew Mew were also influential in too many little ways to mention.

Other media influences include:

The American Dragon: Jake Long episode: The Doppleganger gang. Where the main character creates an evil doppleganger that tries to become the “real” version of him.

The Avatar the Last Airbender episodes with Azula's breakdown and the one where Zuko got conflicted and developed a fever (that episode along with some episodes of Tokyo mew mew were the inspiration for Once-ler's stress fevers.) Some stuff from Sonic X (I used to dabble in the Sonic fandom a bit):

The scenes with Sonic and Shadow fighting, Shadow's ability to warp away, Shadow punching Sonic in the gut in the finale, and those episodes where Sonic and Shadow pass out multiple times (happens to poor Oncie quite a few times in this fic.)

Death the Wolf from the movie Puss in Boots: The Last Wish was also quite influential. (Haven't seen the movie yet but I've seen clips.) The way that Death stalks and haunts Puss is very similar to what Greed-ler does to Once-ler.

Meanwhile the Schlepper Brothers from the obscure movie Rock and Rule were one of the main inspirations for Once-ler's relationship with his brothers. Where the brothers tease the immature and less manly brother but are deeply concerned for him when he gets seriously hurt.

I also made a reference to the Edgar Allen Poe story The Raven (Chapter 17) and another Edgar Allen Poe story called William Wilson will have a influence on the fic's finale.

I also included scenes inspired by the Greek Myths of Narcissus (Chapter 20) and Pandora's box (Chapter 15).

I also looked up Halloween is Grinch Night to see how Dr. Seuss himself implemented a nightmarish sequence.

Music

Music also served as huge a inspiration for this fic. I like to listen to music when I write sometimes and it can really sometimes get the flow going. I really like Electronic/EDM music such as freeform hardcore. (The reason why I write about Once-ler dancing in the club so often.) But I've also been enjoying some awesome rock/alternative songs with very relevant lyrics. Music become so influential of the story that I created a playlist to serve as a soundtrack for the fic of sorts.

The songs with the most influential lyrics however, are featured in my Once-ler's corruption playlist.

I was also inspired by various elements of nature including things like:

The Moon (Blood Red Moon)

Snow/Ice

Light/Darkness

Smoke

The classical elements of Fire, Water, Earth, Air,and Energy

Butterflies, a symbol of transformation most notably the Emerald Swallowtail butterfly, specifically the one pictured below.

I took the pic myself when I visited a butterfly house. This little guy was the main inspiration for the Masquerade Metamorphosis in Chapters 18 and 19 and was the direct inspiration the costume Greed-ler wears in those chapters, and in some chapters yet to come ;) That butterfly is also featured/mentioned in Chapter 16.

I also played around a lot with symbolism, including color symbolism (white, green, silver, and gold).

Along with fanfic tropes, such as sickfic, and whump prompts such as the scene where Once-ler falls through the ice in Chapter 22.

Finally I was also inspired by real life including my own experiences with working, dealing with my own greedy relatives, and coping with some of my own personal issues/insecurities

Reimagine That Villain (Con)

Naraku, Inuyasha Squandered Ultimate Villain -> Feudal Era Kang the Conqueror

Part of what made Naraku falter as the ultimate villain of his series to me was that he was kept around so long, even when there was increasingly little else that could be done with him and we even had other villains on the scene, so he didn't justify his position as the Big Bad to keep around to the very end. There's quite an easy way around that for a reboot of Inuyasha: instead of doing what was done with Naraku's "incarnations" and "spawn" in the old series, have them all be literally different variants of Naraku. Make him like Marvel's Kang the Conqueror, a singular uber villain with different versions of himself across different points in space and time. This way we have a bunch of different major villains who all tie back into the singular overarching Big Bad, as they're all alternate incarnations of him!

No Heart, Care Bears Evil Satanic Sorcerer -> Evil Bigoted Studio Executive

This one's pretty out there. No Heart, the demonic sorcerer villain of The Care Bears Family, would honestly be well-serviced being reinvented into an evil studio executive with an unconcealed loathing of different groups of beings such as the Care Bears. This way, he not only becomes a real threat again, he become an allegorical one: how many studio executives have tampered with the creatives' visions and works in order to churn out something that can be called "soulless" or "lacking heart"? And how many have made decisions that clearly show them to be bigots? Think an Avi Arad or an Ike Perlmutter, or even higher up the chain of command like a David Zaslav! A guy wielding such levels of power and hatred in addition to magic would be truly frightening and formiddable on so many levels. For his aesthetic, he combines features of No Heart, the Wizard Of Wonderland, and the Evil Vizier all into a singular sinister package!

Noah Kaiba, Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters! Bullshit Filler Villain -> AI Of Gozaburo Kaiba's Ideal Heir

This would normally fall under a villain rewrite, but in order to rewrite him, I'd have to reinvent him (and obviously I'd want whatever story he featured in to be set far away from the Battle City arc!). Rather than be a virtual replica of Gozaburo Kaiba's deceased biological son who for some reason bears resemblence to his adopted son Seto, Noah should've been an AI program made to emulate the ideal heir that Gozaburo wanted to turn Seto into, one that'd take on a life of its own in an effort to live up to its purpose and become that heir, which would obviously require destroying and replacing Seto to do so.

Otonokoji Twins, Super Danganronpa Another 2 Serial Killer Abuser And Her Victim -> Pro LARpers Who Are Ultimates In Manipulation And Torture

It's sort of an AU idea based on what the twins were as young adults. In addition to them being a successful music duo, I can see them as gifted at acting and LARPing whatever gimmicky thing they choose to be to work their acts into, and whenever there's any threat to their livelihood detected, Kanade would turn to manipulation and different ways to torment the target - abduction, extoriton, blackmail, mind games, meddling, musical torture, indirect murder, you name it - and would often strongarm Hibiki into being her faithful accomplice.

The Phantom Blot, Disney Comics Black Cloaked Criminal -> Unfinished Character Who Shapeshifts

I legit have no idea why this hasn't become a thing for this character. Make this guy an actual ink blot of what was going to be a cartoon character but who never got finished and whose rough sketch got discarded to decay into the "Phantom Blot" it is now. Give them Clayface powers, including the power to shapeshift into different cartoon characters to pull of their crimes! It seriously writes itself!

Prince Phobos, W.I.T.C.H Tyrannical Usurper -> Charming And Orderly Authoritarian

I know Elyon got a rebooted incarnation recently, but what about her older brother Phobos? I think there's a lot you could do with him if you made him into this more Akio Ohtori-esque character, seemingly the perfect Prince Charming with a handsome, kind face and an outwarldy benevolent reign upon the land he rules, but behind this mask he's a complete sociopath and an authoritarian tyrant who looks to conquer or destroy the other realms of Metamoor so that Meridian alone could stand as the only prosperous, powerful nation. Y'know how in the TV show there was this dumb plot element of Phobos decieving Elyon through illusions that made his Meridian look beautiful and peaceful? Make his Meridian actually like that! Both he and his domain, pretty covers concealing hideous truths.

Mr. Potter, It's A Wonderful Life Sociopathic Wealthy Realtor -> Sociopathic Mega Corporotist

Remaking It's A Wonderful Life is something else that becomes the topic of rumors and discussion every now and again. If it was to be remade in a modern time and Mr. Potter was to be included, there's really no better direction to take him in than to embody the stone cold inhumanity of cutthroat capitalism and corporate avarice. Push him in an even darker direction, with more details spared for just how fucked up and corrupt an enterprise his "Pottersville" would truly be.

Dr. Regal, Megaman Battle Network/NT Warrior Evil Net Criminal Mad Scientist -> Horror-Themed Cyber Terrorist Mastermind With Military Ties

For both Dr. Regal and Nebula, I touched upon this in this post.

Rosemary Applefied, Nadja Of Tomorrow Wannabe Princess -> Ruthless Young Capitalist

This one's less a total reimagining and more what Rosemary would likely become as she strove to make a fortune and a living for herself in America after the events of the series. Definitely not anywhere near the level of Mr. Potter, but cutthroat in business all the same.

Sailor Galaxia, Sailor Moon Alien Demigoddess Sailor Soldier -> Evil Studio Executive

What Sailor Moon Stars ought to have done with this character! They had Shadow Galactica using the Ginga TV studio as a front for their operations. Information known about this is that there are many civilians also working there who have nothing to do with Shadow Galactica, the Sailor Animamates are employees there, use desks and lunch rooms, and conduct their business incognito, and a supposedly out of service elevator takes you to the secret real top floor, Galaxia’s dominion. These are all solid ideas, but there’s nothing really gluing them together even when such thing was so freaking obvious - Sailor Galaxia with a civillian alter ego as the leader of the proudction company that owns the studio! Give her a fake name and have her wield illegally attained (via maaaagic) corporate influence to advance her master plan, all while the regular people who work there are completely in the dark about what they’re truly working towards, and they could double as the only victims-of-the-day that the story would need. This would’ve made Galaxia seem Freeza levels of scary in how she’d have so much power in her yet would usually not need to lift a finger to accomplish anything since she’s at the head of this corrupt business. The Sailor Senshi taking on an enemy with institutional power that shields their true evildoing wasn’t really done beyond Professor Tomoe being the head of Infinity Academy and Witches 5 doubling as students there, so to do it here was such a golden opportunity that got so tragically wasted.

Slade Wilson, DC Universe Masked Mercenary Mastermind -> Corruptive Teacher

Great Slades and not-so-great Slades have come and gone, but I'd kill (no pun intended) to see a version of Slade Wilson who keeps all else about his character in-tact: army vet, big game hunter, toxic family man, masked mercenary killer, supervillain, etc., but has his day job be that of a school teacher or a principal. An occupation where he has access to young people that he can manipulate, corrupt, prey upon and use as pawns in his secret criminal games. Sort of a Walter White crossed with Gakuho Asano if you will. That would be super interesting and really lean into his darkest facets.

Steele, Balto Jerk Jock Killer Sled Dog -> Police Brutality Dog

There was always kind of a problem with Steele in how he was meant to be a Gaston type character where though his a prideful, boorish jerkass, he's a beloved figure in town....only he was designed, animated, and voiced to be as Maximum EVIL as possible, without even a pretense of subtlety, making it a stretch that no one had a clue about how evil he truly was until he actually goes and does really inexcusably evil stuff. But if we incorperated Steele into an urban setting like Shere Khan in Tale Spin, the remedy to this would be quite simple: make Steele a cop. This way not only does he win over the reverence, respect and goodwill of the public for a different reason, but it suggests he also keeps others in line through fear. He can act as aggressively, blatantly evil as he wants to, what's anyone going to do about it? He has a fucking badge, and it shields him from paying consequences for his corrupt, cruel, and unethical actions. His prejudice against half-breeds like Balto would also take on new meaning, as it's reflective of the very worst of such dirty cops.

Sweeney Todd, Sweeney Todd Demon Barber -> Demon Stylist And Merchant

Sweeney Todd was technically already reinvented when the musical stage play was first concieved, but his original iteration was so obscure that it hardly seems to matter. If Ben Barker got a second do-over, I think his villainy could be ramped up by making him not only a barber, but an acclaimed stylist and the producer and seller of various hair and skin products. Him expanding into a larger business could make him a man who "cuts throats" in a much different way, also expanding his means of killing people, both overt and subtle. And working with Ms. Lovett to make meat pies out of his victims ensures he maximizes profits in both money and in human life!

Tsumugi Shirogane, Danganronpa V3 Ultimate Cosplayer Twist Villain -> Ultimate Amoral Fangirl

Basically doubling down on the Tsumugi we got to see in Alternate Continuity outside the main V3 story. As I've stated before, I do like antagonist Tsumugi when she’s actually being antagonist Tsumugi and leaning into the idea of an unhinged, amoral fangirl and fanfic writer in total control of her own Danganronpa game experience.

Were Jackie Chan Adventures to be rebooted, imagine if the Dark Hand wasn't a crime syndicate but instead a criminal web in a conspiracy that spans different places and carried out by different public figures and civil servants who are secretly involved, like with HYDRA in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? And Valmont would be at the head of the whole thing as a top political donor who makes donations and contributions to various politicians and factions in exchange for their silence and complicity with his secret movement. After a demeaning Villain Decay, this would be a return to top form!

Venom, Spider-Man Vengeful Addictice And Corruptive Symbiote + Eddie Brock -> Vengeful Addictive And Corruptive Symbiote Cycling Through Hosts, Driven By Wrath, Power Lust, And Irresponsibility

In a way, they're already starting to move in this direction with recent depictions of Venom like in the 2017 Marvel's Spider-Man show, Insomniac Game's Spider-Man 2, the recent comic stories that has the symbiote bonded to a mysterious new host as the All New Venom, and maybe even whatever's coming next for Tom Holland's MCU Spidey. Eddie Brock's had his share of solid reinterpretations, but I'm glad Venom can now move away from him as a fixture.

Vlad Masters/Plasmius, Danny Phantom Generic Arch Nemesis -> Half Ghost, Half Vampire Chef/Caterer With Influence Over Politics And Crime

This reimagining of Vlad I can only describe as being one part Count Dracula, one part Hannibal Lecter, and one part Chef Julian Slowik. Rather than the accident by his old friend Jack causing him to turn half ghost, Vlad would have become a vampire like he was initially planned to be and from there he'd gained his phantom powers from the Ghost Zone on his own. Amassing his vast fortune, he'd become a renonwed chef that makes recipes from Wisconsin dairy products, but uses that position to attain his special secret ingredient of human blood. He'd also have hypnotic powers that he'd use to hold sway over local politics and law, including in the criminal underworld.

Lord Voldemort, Harry Potter Wizard Hitler -> Nonbinary JKR Expy

OK, this one is more than a little petty, but at the same time could make for an interesting character! Rather than be a reflection of the racist, classist, nativist despots that the UK and Europe had to contend with a century ago, Voldemort could reflect the populists, bigots, and authoriatrians of this century, and in a way that gives him a striking ressemblence to his own creator, JK Rowling. This Lord Voldemort would begin as a widely beloved figure for the magical gifts they'd imparted upon the world (much like JKR) only for their own personal vices and emotional immaturity to steer them towards seeking further power and self enrichment for the sake of their ego (again, much like JKR), to the point where they mutilate their own soul and become a shell of the human being they once were (again, much like JKR), and with newfound power and purpose they embark on a crusade to persecute and wipe out a vulnerable group of people they deem as detriments to the world order they wish to see, making it their life's mission to see them all struck from existence (again, much like JKR), and becoming the dreaded dark lord who many dare to even speak the name of. The most twisted part would be despite the insistence of being hailed as "LORD Voldemort", or "HE who must not be named", Voldemort secretly does not identify themself as male or female, hypocritically believing their greatness puts them above things such as gender pronouns and labels while in public they'd blast any such person as an inferior that must be oppressed. And unlike the Tom Riddle of old, this Voldemort doesn't fear death. They fear life that they can exert total dominance and control over.

Yukio Oikawa, Digimon Adventure 02 Wannabe DigiDestined -> The UnChosen Child

Whereas Ken's change would ride on an alteration of his motivations and villainy as the Digimon Emperor, Oikawa's would hinge upon an alteration of his backstory. Rather than a longtime best friend of Hiroki Hida who could see Digimon and dreamed of going to the Digital World, Oikawa might've been either one of the first ever Chosen Children who got unchosen for some tragic reason, or one with the potential to be a Chosen Child but who got passed over by destiny when he was made to spend less time around his bestie, thus unable to observe anything more related to Digimon and the Digital World. Either way gives Oikawa a hangup that he'd carry with him all the way into adulthood, a Digimon fanatic who refused to grow up until he got to have the Digimon Adventure in the Digital World that he was owed back in his childhood. This also enhances Oikawa's desperation, which could suggest that maybe in this version his corruption and draw to the powers of darkness wasn't mere chance. Rather than the pawn of some dark entity, he's embraced the dark entity and made it part of himself, and he will have his way in the Digital World even if he has to ruin the lives of children and endanger both worlds just to reach it! It's every bit as effective and interesting as the original canonical Oikawa.

Yzma, The Emperor's New Groove Treacherous Advisor Mad Scientist -> High Priestess For Supai

As with Chelsea, Dr. Irie, Lila, King Magnifico, and Vlad, this is more moving a character back towards their conceptual roots as means of reimagining the character they'd become in the final product. In the planned Kingdom Of The Sun, Yzma was the high preistess for the Temple of the Sun who secretly resented the sun, blaming sunlight for her physical aging, so she pledged her servitude to the god of darkness Supai and schemed to cast the empire into eternal night by releasing Supai via a blood sacrifice of the young Emperor Manca and granting him the power to destroy and conquer as he pleased. She's also a necromancer who reanimates mummies to serve her. Definitely a darker, more vile take on Yzma than what we ended up with, even though she's still no less comical and bungling. And this is the Yzma who'd get that awesome villain song Eartha Kitt recorded!

Xehanort, Kingdom Hearts Squandered Darknessholic Villain -> Amoral Scholar Of Dark Arts

Or rather, Anxem Norterrax, a researcher who studies the powers of darkness within the Mirrorverse and those that come from such darkness like the Fractured. A retooling of Terra-Xehanort's character for the Mirrorverse setting and in name, characteristics, and even clothes he combines the best of regular Terranort, Ansem Seeker of Darkness, and Xemnas. Would've been quite fun to have around had only Disney Mirrorverse stuck around and been handled better...

Stardust and Tearduct AU is officially in the works!

Plot: When Dib was a toddler and Gaz was an infant, Prof. Membrane takes them to a meteor shower and finds a crashed ship. Inside the ship is Miyuki with unconscious Red and Purple and seemingly dead Smeet Zim. He helps her out, brings Zim back to life via electricity, removes both her and Red's and Purple's PAKs to give them a fresh start. Miyuki and Membrane get married to protect them both sides, and they raise Red (now called Flynn but also Red by his friends and family) and Purple (now called Mauve) and Zim as human children with no memories of before the crash after removing their PAKs. Miyuki disappears after 5 years (Dib and Zim: 7, Gaz: 5, Flynn and Mauve: 9 years old) of this special life and Prof. Membrane tells everyone she's in some hospital to try and help her mentally and physically but in truth he has no idea where she is.

Coraline and Norman are cousins and decided to do a joint family vacation where both Coraline and Norman brough one friend to come visit, Norman's family comes in later though since it was easier for the Jones to arrive to Gravity Falls than the Babcocks

Danny is on a special summer trip to Gravity Falls with his class for their junior to senior year and his family decided to come with

Greg doesn't remember much about the Garden Wall but Wirt remembers it very clearly and is part of a paranormal forum to hopefully find someone who can answer all the unanswered questions while dealing with the trauma of it all. They visit Gravity Falls a bit later but is one of Dib's favorite online friends from the forums.

Powerpuff Girls is only mentioned as of right now in the drafts but will be more focused later on when the gang try to figure out what Chemical X is

SVTFOE is added and technically takes place sometime after season 2-3 but me and my friend kind of didn't like the final two seasons and did a serious rewrite with some details still there but we fixed a lot of the romances so be ready lol But they come in later as they leave Gravity Falls

W.I.T.C.H. happens about a year after the end of season two and are mostly online faces and names kind of like Clover but like the Totally Spies we will see them later and I even have a lil script ready for reactions of them using their powers!

This AU will be pretty serious and angsty since I'm pretty sure a majority of the cast will be very traumatized within their canon stories, but it'll also cover the feeling of identity and discovery with Zim, Flynn, and Mauve, varies forms of grief and depression, suicide attempts and mentions of suicide, and one scene that legit made me cry between Zim and Norman as they both talk about their childhoods, Coraline having sever Claustrophobia, etc.

Membrane will be a great dad in this AU as he should be, most positive about paranormal but plays the acts of a nonbeliever around his family since he swore to Miyuki to not tell them their origins without her present, which is harder when they seem to catch on and no one knows where she is.

I'm still debating dating but I will say the main "canon" within this AU will be building up Coraline and Wybie and Star, Marco, and Tom's whole romance thing is still canon with Star and Tom being exs and some feels happening. The W.I.T.C.H. girls have their relationships from season two but will be altered or changed since some are not that fleshed out and in the comics they kind of ruined some. In this AU Sam and Danny dated but didn't last much but they could get back together. I have seen SO MANY SHIPS related to crossovers, especially Mystery Kids, and honestly there's a lot of fair arguments of a lot of them! I've seen Dibper, Parapines, Pinescones, Gazble, Pasiciper (or whatever Dipper and Pasifica ship is called), etc. etc. If yall have possible ideas that aren't proshipping, I'd like to hear! Crack-shipping is also welcome as long as you give me some points of why!!

We have a nice little roster of villains since this is a AU which means other universes with other stories, characters, and villains! Including one of my favorite mini fandoms like Mystery Kids called "The Bad End Friends", a AU world of crossovers of the main characters who becomes villains/the villains won their universes. We'll have Invader Zib, Bipper, Beast Wirt, Ghost Coraline, canon Invader Zim, Dark Danny, and so much more!

Again, this AU is still being build/made as I'm going through. Scripts of certain scenes are already written and I'm even currently drawing out other minor villains of the series like bullies or even bad exs, thoughts and ideas are welcomed!

📚 Backstory 📚

Childhood: He had a pretty decent childhood, raised by his family of five and two dogs and lived on a ranch his brave scientist parents owned. Since birth he had shown how smart he is and enjoyed discovering new things. Most kids were jealous he passed classes and would exclude him in things which never bothered him, he was perfectly fine working by himself

Adolescence: His mother died via gas poisoning after years working in the lab, causing a huge rift against him and his dad that sadly never been fixed no matter what. He graduated highest of the grades and moved to Townsville to attend collage via a science scholarship

Young Adulthood: He's still awkward as usual but gotten along well with the other students in the science scholarship like Drake Utonium, plus with the fact he doesn't go home during holidays he spends more time studying and creating his first invention and research. He graduated a year earlier than planned and began his business after moving to Whiteham, buying a closed down factory as his new lab. He slowly started to feel lonely after his business picked up and upon remember his ideas of cloning the ranch animals and created Dib with similar methods of cloning with some changes of course. Dib's birth was a success and so he decided to make a sibling since he had a fun time being with his siblings growing up. When Gaz was born and Dib was turning one years old, he took them to a hill to watch the meteor shower, there he finds a huge hunk of junk and metal where a mysterious woman was clinging to three smaller forms as she barely stays awake. He takes them all back home and patches her up, learns her name is Miyuki and the Smeets she had were Red and Purple who were destined to be the next Tallests after she perish and Zim who she tells was defected at birth and sentenced to death. He removes Red and Purple's PAKs carefully (Zim didn't have his when found) and brought them back to life. He and Miyuki got close after all this and she stayed on Earth for him, raisin the Smeets as human children alongside Dib and Gaz. He invented a special wig that was applied to the Smeets that will feel, move, wash, and grow like normal hair once applied but their antennas do appear, which he and Miyuki instructed to always keep them hidden unless indoors and with them. He and Miyuki vowed to tell the kids the truth together, but then not long after the vow she disappeared. He searched for her but couldn't find her, so he decided to raise all five of them by himself as best as he can

One might think that Magical Girls are a typically Japanese genre given how the country assumes the kawaii aesthetic comparing to the Occident. But like all kinds of stories, Magical Girls aren't the property of any culture and one can easily find "Western" examples like "W.I.T.C.H.", "Winx Club", "Star VS The Forces Of Evil" or "Miraculous Laydbug". And among all these examples, this month we will talk about "LoliRock" ! In my rewrite, I gave each girls a specific gemstone, some specialties in their musical career/practice of magic and affinities with some kind of elements.

I take this opportunity to make a quick dedication to the creator of the series, Jean-Louis Vandestoc; and to TeamLoliRock which helped me a lot in this video's writing.

If I had to rewrite the series, I'd like to use more of her magical voice presented in the 1st episode and not really used in the rest of the series. I'd also like to make Iris more impacted by the revelation of her magical identity. I imagine her developing an almost unhealthy obsession for Ephedian culture in an identity quest typical of teens with 2 cultural backgrounds. The series would then be an opportunity for her not to base her identity on her dramatic origins and to understand that she is as attached to the Earth as she is to Ephedia.

Xeris is supposed to be a world with all the knowledge about the magic of this universe or almost. So I guess they'd took the opportunity to improve everyday life with techno-magic as we see here and there in the series. If I could rewrite the character, I'd like to accentuate Talia's trauma of her kingdom's invasion (writers are sadists, don't deny it). To the point of almost never allowing herself to rest and being appallingly demanding of others. During the series, she would eventually agree to get help for her survivor syndrome and not let her past poison her life.

If I could rewrite the character, I'd like to play on the fact that Auriana is the 2nd of a very large family and has the feeling that she must prove herself to exist in their eyes. And what better way to prove her worth than finding the Lost Princess of Ephedia and helping her in her fight against Gramorr ? Eventually, however, Auriana would realize that she was doing all of that for wrong reasons and eventually take her responsibilities to Iris and the other worlds seriously.

Reading the W.I.T.C.H. reboot, rewrite time!

Overall… there were some interesting things here and there but… no, it’s not good. The pacing is too fast and it looks like a whole arc compressed into 100 pages. These are the changes I’d make:

-Keep all the original designs but add some new details (for the parents, mostly).

-Cornelia is the one that tutors Will.

-I liked it more when each one had a different passion.

-Taranee is like a nerd. We need more nerdy girls. And she retains her personality.

-Maybe she’s just moved too and Corny shows the high school to both of them.

-Elyon dreams about her mother and, one day at the library, meets Cedric.

-He says she’s from the Metamoor and her mother is waiting for her. He gives her something, maybe a magic crystal, so she can see through the Veil.

-Elyon wants to tell Cornelia about it, but Corny is busy tutoring Will and Taranee. They agree to meet after school.

-Kandrakar is looking for the new guardians and the Oracle thinks Will is worthy.

-Cornelia’s sister can stay. She’s the reason she tries too hard to be perfect in everything. But, also, she hates being compared to her.

-Irma can still hate the water and Hay Lin can be working to gain money to… guess what? Her grandmother is living with them. She just wants to go to China to meet her distant relatives and get to learn more about her culture.

-Will hears Matt playing the guitar while she’s cleaning her new bedroom and that’s how they meet.

-Cornelia stays more time with Will and Taranee because the Knickerbocher tells her to not leave them alone. Irma and Hay Lin go to school to help with the school fair or something and see them. Cornelia introduces them and goes to talk to Elyon.

-Elyon tells Cornelia about what she has discovered and Cornelia doesn’t believe it. Elyon says she’s leaving soon.

-Will feels a headache when she sees Elyon. It’s like she has a bad aura or so.

-The five girls connect immediately and make plans to go to the school thing together.

-Instead of finding the floating things, Will just enters Kandrakar as she goes home. The Oracle explains everything to her and gives her the Heart. Will has a crisis because she doesn’t think she’s good enough. The Oracle says she’ll have to give the others their powers.

-Will tries to meet them and explain what happened. The girls think they’re crazy. However, Hay Lin, who thinks there’s something out there, asks her to continue. Cornelia then blurts out about what Elyon told her.

-They receive their powers but they’d have to unlock them.

-Elyon and Cedric are trying to open a portal. The magical energy disrupts the whole city. The WITCH find out how to use their powers by helping with the situation. They can’t transform yet.

-They reunite again to talk about Elyon. Cornelia wants to help her. Will tries to ask the Oracle, who tells her they have to protect a lot of worlds now, and Elyon going back to the Metamoor would be a good thing.

-They find Elyon and Cedric and let them know they’re going to help. Cedric says not only they have to open the portal, but when the Veil is broken, lots of creatures from different worlds can come into theirs, so they have to be ready.

-They use their new-discovered powers to open a portal. Immediately, a lot of monsters appear. Cedric transforms and tells Elyon all the people from the Metamoor can change. Will feels the Heart bursting with energy.

-The girls transform and fight the creatures.

-Elyon says goodbye to them but they’re the Guardians now, they’ll see each other soon. The Oracle appears and thanks them.

-The girls feel a little better about their lives now that they have powers. But a new threat approaches…

Aisha is not half mermaid but she is related to them. I plan on giving all the Winx their own final fairy forms and Aisha will gain Sirenix which will give her access to a mermaid tail due to her heritage.

Though I'm assuming "because ✨drama✨ and I thought it would be funny" isn't the answer you were looking for even though it's true. But the more detailed answer is I have move more expansive backstories for all of the Trix and different world building for the differences in witches and fairies. I even made Queen Luna a witch too! Sorry to be vague but adding to Stella's family felt right to diving deep into my version of her, she loves her family so much flaws and all while Darcy is more openly critical of it. Darcy isn't her only sibling either, there's her OC little brother (which happens a little after the start of the story) and I also made Sky their brother. I'm still on the fence if Sky and Stella should be twins.

Plus in transparent honesty I love Darcy and wanted a much bigger role for her. And yes!! Roxy has her own story, she is a Winx and tied to them but that doesn't change the fact has her own arc plot centered around her. Bloom may be the main character on a technical level but plot wise Roxy, Stella, and Aisha are equally crucial.

I actually did consider making Tecna a cyborg or a full magic AI, it's such a neat idea imo but I felt it would be more interesting (for me personally) to write about them not being the fairy of technology/technomagic. Tecna is a knowledge fairy with expertise/special interest in technology. Tecna actually lives in/is from Solaria.

In fact that leads me nicely into the last bit about the worlds. They're not from a bunch of different separate worlds, it's all Magix which is governed by several courts which are further divided into domains/realms. Each court has a royal family; land (Tir Na Nog though this one might change), sea (Andros), and sky (Solaria) all have a court then their overlap is the "life" court descendants of the Dragon Flame. Actually a majority of the Winx are from Solaria due to being refugees as the courts that would be governed by Bloom is inhospitable and Roxy's is being ruled by Solaria in the beginning of the story.

issue 22 - A Broken Heart

I thought I hadn’t had a hyperfixation in a while, but maybe the way I express interest and obsession just changed. It didn’t click in me until I thought about the chart in lrb and realised I’m literally taking notes of all the things I would change if I were to rewrite W.I.T.C.H. arc 7.

SO the ask mentioning the W.I.T.C.H. reboot/rewrite thing got me thinking about that and like.

I wanted to rewrite the bit during L is for Loser. Because ya know what fuck Irma having to apologize.

So yeah I'm going to have the setup of like. When he's not flirting with her, Irma thinks Martin is pretty okay. Maybe not 'cool', but he's sweet and a friend. And she does like him enough /as a friend/ that while she shuts down his advances,

And then ofc he continues, especially when they're working together and she expresses gratitude that he purposely misinterprets as flirting and the Grumper Sisters spurring him on because they think it's funny because Irma gets upset every time.

Which eventually results in her snapping at Martin. And like in the episode, Irma thought they were alone and had no idea the Grumpers had flipped all the switches to air them.

At first it also goes like Canon in the school's reaction. A lot of people thinking that Irma was just being a bitch and dunking on the nerd on the air because she could. A few people seem to think there might be more, but the others are louder. Especially as the various bullies 'congratulate' her for doing it. Doubly especially as Martin is being very cold to her.

Eventually, after a chunk of thinking on it, Irma addresses it on the live show. (Kicking everyone else the fuck out so they don't mess with her again).

She first explains the situation, and does apologize for everyone hearing that confrontation, but pointedly says that it was a private conversation aired without either party's consent.

Then while she explains that she may apologize for one or two of the things said, as they were out of line and said out of anger and want to hurt after what he had done, they were not applicable to the situation.

But she says she is refusing to apologize for getting mad and laying out the facts so harshly. Because she can only stand so much of her friend making advances on her and making her feel less like his friend and more like he only gives her attention because if he wears her down she might date him. Because nothing short of yelling at him like that had ever gotten him to listen to her about it.

While she'd love to keep him as a friend, it's not going to be at the cost of being harassed and made to feel like she doesn't truly matter to him.

Ofc the students all have their own speculations on this situation, some calling it a half-assed apology covering her ass, some now flipping and turning Martin into some creepy perv asshole(which he is a little bit but not to the extent.). But honestly it doesn't matter that much.

Mostly because Martin does come by to talk and apologize. Because yeah he- he has a crush on her and was probably seeing things that weren't there and was encouraged by others and just overall didn't realize how much he was hurting her. And he doesn't want to do that because, while he is in love with her, he values her as a person and a friend.

He promises to be better going forward, but he wants to keep this friendship too. And he admits he'll probably make a mistake or two so please just spritz him with water like a cat or politely kick him in the shin. Irma agrees and they leave as friends. The two of them being friendly again helps squash the rumor mill for the most part.

Old art #21: Four Colours

I love talking about this old project. We drew this exchange impro comic with the childhood friend my last repostober post was about, when we were 12-16. We sent the pages to each other with our letters, and that was our way of continuing to do art together after I moved away from my birth town.

Basically, it's our version of W.i.t.c.h. and Winx club type of magical girl stories. Except... we really didn't give a crap about the magic part of the story. We drew so much about the characters' ordinary life that it's hilarious how every once in a while it's like a side note... "Oh yeah, I guess we should do something about our magical mission, huh. Anyway, I'm really stressed about the math test tomorrow." Lol. I guess in that sense it resembles h2o more than it does those other series? They're mostly just living life. Except they don't really get into funny incidents because of their magical secret. It's really mostly just school, friendships, family, dating, for some reason a singing contest two of the characters win and become famous (LOL exactly what 12-year-olds would come up with), with some resemblance of a plot sometimes.

Yes, the comic's name was really just "Four Colours" and yes, the characters were colour-coded and their colour was in their name. They had colour related powers and with absolutely ridiculously over-dramatic names, like, seriously, I can't even say them, even now that I'm mostly endeared by the stuff I wrote as I kid. (My dear KnB's got nothing on these 12-year-olds. It was that bad.)

The magic plot was basically that there was this random village somewhere(?), where people were dying because of some magical disease and these four girls were chosen to climb a magical mountain and unite their colours at the top of it, and that's how the village would be saved. Sounds completely ridiculous, but when I think about it, I guess it's not completely uncreative from kids that age. (But the chosen ones sure let the village suffer for a long time.)

Obviously, as we grew, we just ditched the most ridiculous stuff, and some parts of the end of the story when we were 15-16 aren't completely horrible.

The story was full of generic and unexplained villains, weird anatomy, for some reason it always started raining and someone pointed it out for no reason, there was a character who was a real dramatic romanticised curse magnet, another whose breakup with a guy she'd only known for a few months haunted her for more than half of the 500-page story, another who was co-dependent on the dramatic curse magnet and made everything about her, and the one who both me and my friend had apparently decided was the least interesting character because she did practically nothing.

But these are the stories that make you grow into a writer, you know? And I still love these characters. I have plans to rewrite their story in a completely different way that brings out those interesting personalities that had to suffer from this horrible story.

And like I said, some of it is not that bad, and is interesting to me. Like, there's this character who sees everything magical that happens to them through a religious lens, and that is neither confirmed nor debunked at any point in the story, and none of the others ever argue about it with her even though they clearly don't see it that way, they never even say anything like "oh well, that's her", because that's just so her, that no one has to even mention it. It's just her way of seeing the world, and she never really pushes it onto others either. I like that. And there are some fairly interesting psychological consequences some characters suffer from because of their powers, which is something I always want to see in stories, and also is pretty clear unintentional exploration of neurodiversity from me when I didn't know anything about it. Some powers are also clear unintentional explorations of trauma.

I also experienced some of the first insane flow states with this story. One time I stayed up all night and drew 40 pages in that one sitting.

Anyway, this is just another story that will never leave me and probably explains part of my taste for writing about the everyday lives of extraordinary people.
