OK SO I WOULD LIKE TO STATE BEFORE DOING THIS THAT I KNOW PRETTY MUCH NOTHING ABOUT HOW EXCHANGE RATES WORK. Also very long post ahead, scroll to the bottom if you want the answer.

BUT I do find this very interesting. Part of what makes getting an exact number hard is that Shrike and Beebs are freelance mercenaries, so they don't get hourly pay that would make this so much easier.

INSTANCES OF CHARACTERS DISCUSSING MONEY IN-SHOW:

- Chester is a billionaire, which is still a ridiculous amount of money. We don't know how many billions of pixels he's worth though, so not very helpful

- 25k is VERY little, by all standards

- 100k is a pretty good amount for two low-ranked mercenaries

- 10 million is frankly insane and you can buy an entire ship with either that OR with 40 million, left unclear

- 1 million is what LAW offers for the capture of a Terran

- 9,422,100 is the estimated cost that it will take to repair Scratch's ship, and it is also considered to be an insane amount. BUT, and this is important, it's not enough to consider buying a new ship entirely.

- an Agari reproductive organ is, uh...

150 billion, I believe? But we can assume that the price has been padded a bit because it's for the black market.

- 25k is considered dirt cheap for what is basically an auto repair shop (it's a mech shop, close enough)

- 2.5 million is considered a "hefty" amount for a bounty

And I believe that's all? And from this we can really understand that a pixel is a lot less than a dollar, but we can't really get how much less. But let's try some reasoning here.

- Let's say a ship is about on par with a car. The ship Tyneen wanted to buy was probably pretty fancy, since she's a pretty powerful pirate. I went to a random website and took #5 of the top ten most expensive cars in Canada. Got $393,350. Let's use that.

If the ship costs 10 million pixels, the pixel-dollar exchange rate is 1:0.039335. If the ship costs 40 million, then the exchange rate is 1:0.00983375. Let's see if this matches up with anything else.

- I don't have a source for this but I'm willing to bet that 25k pixels is in the low hundreds for CAD. Again doing an approximation here, let's say $250 for the sake of convenience. That's an exchange rate of 1:0.01. Matches somewhat up with the 10 million pixel ship approximation from earlier (about 1:0.04). $250 might be highballing it though, since Shrike implied that it...really wasn't sufficient as a payment for the task. So 1:0.01 is probably the highest it could possibly be.

- I'm taking the black market price as an outlier, we're not even going to TRY messing with that one.

I have NO clue what's considered a standard price to put on someone's head, either for our world or for Monkey Wrench's. So while we can't really use that to hone down on the exact exchange rate, we can use it to check our math and see if it sounds reasonable.

Our current possible spectrum is 0.01-0.04. Let's average that with 0.025, just to make everything consistent. If we use the exchange rate of pixels to CAD being 1:0.025, then that means that:

- the price on JB's head is $62,500

- the price on Nobert's head was $250,000

- the reward for capturing a Terran is $25,000

- what Nobert was offering Shrike and Beebs was $2500 (yeah I can see why Shrike wanted to hand him in)

- the cost of fixing Beebs' arm was $625

- the cost to repair Scritch and Scratch's ship was $235,552

- the cost of the ship Tyneen wanted to buy was, if we use the 10 million approximation, also $250,000. If we use the 40 million approximation, it's a million dollars.

- the price that Shrike offered in the latest April Fool's video (600 pixels) is $15. Which means I was wrong when I said I wasn't sure it would crack $10 but I wasn't THAT far off.

Does that all sound reasonable? I think it does. It's as good as we're gonna get.

SO. Final answer for everyone, let's all assume for now that the exchange rate between pixels and dollars is 1:0.025.

If anyone has a better estimate please let me know

It was another day at St Georges’ Park. The English team was back for the international break. Jude sat at lunch, Trent at his left and Marcus and Bukayo in front of them, in the middle of a conversation.

“Aye, Jude, you remember Mariah ?” Marcus started as he kept his eyes on his phone.

Jude’s head rose, confusion written on his face.

“The girl you disrespectfully dumped after cheating on her” Trent described with no facial expression.

Even though Jude was his friend, he never forgot to remind him how wrong he was in this situation.

“Oh, umm yeah why?”

Marcus turned his phone around showing them an Instagram post.

He kept scrolling as Mason and Declan sat at their table. The two instantly noticed Jude’s concentration since he didn't even noticed them.

"Nun- his ex he threw away for a one night stand now has a baby" Bukayo cut him off with a teasing smile on his face, ruining Jude's attempt to change the subject.

Declan went on Mariah's page, seeing all the posts with the little girl on it.

"Five months...."

"Tamara is a such cute name" Mason intervened.

Declan had noticed a detail about the little girl's date of birth that rose his attention.

Declan's eyes widened as it all came together in his head. If little Tamara was five months, then Mariah had to get pregnant a year and two months prior. And if they broke up a year and a month ago...

Ohhh my godddd

Just dreamt there was this. Rollercoaster ride?? That was Steve themed, and I was riding it but I was Colle (It was very clearly Merf's design too 💀). And he/I was looking for Seer, we had a bundle of feathers, each from our close friends. But by the time I reached the end, I morphed back into me. The "real" me was confused as to how I got there, in a college math class.

But I had my bag and a notebook, so why not. The teacher was chill af, but here's the kicker: this whole thing is an elaborate LARPing thing (like, legit regular students/staff pretending to be in the Steve Saga etc). And I'd taken the long route, but I went again when I saw a long line in the quad and someone let me cut bc I was new.

Apparently the math teacher was a LARPer and was the head of this whole thing. And when I was there the second time, the vice principal was handing out basically little randomized character sheets and then acting out a short (relatively ordinary) scene. The little characters on it are like lil Muppets, mine was a red-blue Steve with curly hair that took after Colle, ofc.

Also somehow influGreen and influPurple from the smile for the camera au by @/0ketinha were sitting at a table the 2nd time and were saying like, "bro how do you feel now that we're here (in tss, ig)?" "Bro, it feels amazing. So much to do!" And for a sec I thought they were a Purple n Green Steve but then it hit me lmao. I was like, wait they be lettin in stick figures now??

Ooh, time to get international (for most of you, that is)! I first listened to this song in school, of all places, but it is rightfully recognized as really good: Construção - Chico Buarque. Though, the appeal of the lyrics may be a bit lost outside of Portuguese. It does some really neat replacement of nouns in the verses between the halves, to build up along with the sounds to this climax of revolting indifference, excellently punctuated by the last verse-- just really masterful!
