I think ivy is one of Taylor's most misinterpreted song specifically because of the lyric "Oh, I cant stop you putting roots in my dream land / My house of stone, your ivy grows / and now I'm covered in you"

because when ivy grows on a stone house the roots push into cracks and fissures, slowly destroying the structure of the house over time

as  i've  mentioned,  colette  has  motor dyspraxia  and  developmental verbal dyspraxia  —  which  is  an  important  part  of  my  portrayal  of  her.  below  is  just  some  stuff  incorporated  in  threads,  headcanons,  etc.  ❤️

colette's  dyspraxia  manifests  in  a  few  ways.  poor  hand  eye  coordination,  sensory  hypersensitivities  (  particularly,  this  is  sound  for  her  ---  occasionally,  touch  can  be  too  much  as  well  )  to  her  environment  and  in  part  to  this,  slow  auditory  processing,   terrible  special  awareness  (  she  has  and  will  continue  to  run  into  the  kids  in  the  hall  –  it's  why  she  avoids  it  during  most  of  the  class  changes  ,  and  the  other  ghosts  when  walking  closely  together  ),  very  very  very  little  sense  of  direction  both  physically  and  metaphorically  (  it  took  a  long  time  for  her,  even  in  life,  to  figure  out  the  layout  of  the  school  and  relied  on  a  very  specific  route  every  day  )  ,  horrendous  memory  –  both  long  and  short  term,  though  she  chalks  the  long  term  stuff  up  to.  you  know.  being  dead  for  a  decade.  “clumsy”  walking,  but  it's  just  the  lack  of  coordination  within  her  legs  and  feet  –  cannot  walk  in  a  straight  line  without  intense  focus.  lack  of  dexterity  in  her  hands  (  i  like  to  think  she  “steals”  the  football  teams  jackets  because  she  can  barely  do  zippers  on  hoodies  or  buttons  on  coats  )  ,  highly  empathetic  internally  …  but  has  a  hard  time  expressing  it  externally  due  to  her  background  for  obvious  reasons.  constant  overstimulation  due  to  the  constant  need  to  concentrate  on  various  activities  and  making  sure  her  body  moves  “correctly”.  homegirl  had  her  velcro  shoes  in  her  locker  during  prom,  just  in  case.  very  very  poor  time  management  —  she's  been  outside  all  day  and  someone's  had  to  come  out  to  get  her,  despite  it  going  from  light  to  dark  around  her. 

regarding  her  speech,  this  itself  proves  itself  a  problem  (  to  her  )  .  it's  something  she's  extremely  insecure  about.  her  stutter  is  the  most  obvious  –  it's  not  too  much,  in  her  own  opinion,  but  it  execrates  when  she's  stressed  or  in  a  situation  she  doesn't  want  to  be  in.  get's  stuck  on  “hard”  letters,  like  t,  q,  z,  or  d.  has  a  “rushed”  sense  of  conversation  -  tends  to  interrupt  or  talk  over  others,  especially  in  group  conversations.  she  grew  up  speaking  french  and  moved  to  split  river  in  middle  school,  so  she's  still  not  entirely  fluent  in  english  but  the  amount  of  media  she's  consumed  has  helped  quite  a  bit,  still  has  an  accent.  speaks  some  sign  language  but  due  to  her  lack  of  hand  -  eye  coordination,  she  lacks.  a  very  very  small  lisp  on  some  words  (  she  blames  the  accent  )  .  difficulty  knowing  if  she's  speaking  in  a  correct  tone  –  due  to  the  lack  of  communication  between  her  brain  and  the  muscles  used  in  order  to  talk,  it  takes  a  minute,  and  sometimes  it  comes  out  wrong.  can  often  be  too  quiet  or  too  loud.  jumbles  her  words  and  sounds  –  sometimes  she  starts  a  new  word  before  she  finishes  the  next  one.  words  tend  to  slur  when  she's  speaking  quickly  and  trying  to  get  her  thoughts  out  before  she  loses  the  nerve.  tends  to  pronounce  things  wrong  (  i.e,  “thor”  instead  of  “floor”),  occasionally  skirts  on  vowels.  pitch  regulation  is  indeed  an  issue  aforementioned  when  it  comes  to  volume.  focuses  too  hard  on  what  she  wants  to  say,  how  to  say  it,  that  words  can  often  get  mixed  in  the  shuffle  ("hello,  how  are  you?"  comes  out  as,  “hello,  are  how  you?”)  .

As the final part of our PGCE course, we were asked to create a piece of artwork and curate an exhibition focusing on a topic relevant to our training and the art and design curriculum. We had the exhibition last night, and here was my piece!
