What is ichor?

Ichor is basically Lavenderstar’s blood. Their body isnt made up of ichor, they are just covered in it. So if you wanted to pet Lavenderstar, you could. But your hand would end up wet and gross with blood. The ichor seeps out of the wounds Lavenderstar received in the fire. Usually these would be healed by dying and going to the Astral Planes (Starclan) but the bitterness Lavenderstar has from their clan basically being extinguished has corrupted their spirit. Technically I should be drawing Lavenderstar dripping with goopy ichor all the time, but I don’t because I’m lazy.

How does ichor work?

For Lavenderstar to infect and control other spirits with ichor, they need to be close to them. If Lavenderstar leaves, so to will the ichor from the infected’s body. I didn’t make it very obvious, but in the most recent ask Weedtail’s infection was slowly going away. You can see this in that their purple pupils are fading. I should have made it more obvious, but I didn’t for drama.

Lavenderstar can control how quickly the ichor infects someone. All Lavenderstar has to do is be near them. Their own ichor can leave seep off their body and onto their victim. This difference in timing can be seen in Moon 6 and Into the Pool. In Moon 6 Lavenderstar infects Rimebat quickly, not giving him enough time to properly warn Ashsight. This is takes 4 panels, so pretty standard for Lavenderstar’s speed.

Meanwhile, in Into the Pool, Lavenderstar’s infection of Weedtail is much slower so that she has a chance to speak. It takes 7 panels to get a little under halfway to complete control. This is very slow for Lavenderstar.

However, shortly after this the ichor starts going away. Ichor is controled by Lavenderstar, but that doesn’t mean their emotions don’t get in the way of it. Weedtail’s words were throwing them off, so their control weakens significantly.

If enraged enough, infection can only take a second. This is demonstrated in the last part of Into the Pool where Weedtail is instantly infected by an enraged Lavenderstar.

The grasp Lavenderstar has on their victims wavers depending on their emotions. If they’re feeling a strong emotion, it weakens the ichor’s effects. The exception is rage, which gives Lavenderstar strength. The entire reason their spirit is like that is because of the rage and bitterness they feel at their clan’s death, to the point they let it consume them whole.

On the topic of Into the Pool, the red scribbles present are also ichor, just a thinner, foamier type. This ichor - which I will now dub scribble ichor - is a lot hotter than normal ichor hench why it is bubbly. This heat is generated by Lavenderstar being enraged as well as their spirit’s form morphing which also gives off heat.

How does being infected by ichor affect the victim?

Any sort of freewill and emotions the victims have are taken away by Lavenderstar. Their spirit becomes apart of theirs, and therefore is controlled by them. This means Lavenderstar can make them do as they like, for example making Cougarshade pin down Ashsight in Moon 6. This also means Lavenderstar can see from their eyes, though this makes their spirit vulnerable to attack. Even though a part of the victim’s consciousness is taken by Lavenderstar, they can still think and feel whatever is happening to their spirit. This includes pain.

Lavenderstar has made Weedtail an exception to this (until recently) because they trusted her the most out of their clanmates. This is why one of her eyes were normal and she could show emotion in Moon 6 whilst the other victims couldn’t.

That’s all you really need to know about ichor right now! I hope this clears some stuff up because it’d be really hard to try and “tell” this in the story.

i feel like the scene where charlotte tells noel she feels bad for him and how she thinks his devotion is like a curse is very telling. because she knows what it's like to throw away your life for someone. to determine that your entire existence is relative to them instead of existing as your own.

but more than that, considering she knows enough about his life to at least know he had a bad enough life to justify becoming a hater, i'm sure she knows why he had to become that way. she knows that he's like this because he too, was a discarded child not deemed worthy enough to exist (for charlotte, her parents left her to die, and for noel, he was was seen as disposable and forcibly erased), neither was old enough or had enough support from anyone else to find a way to cope so both needed to find someone else to determine them their value, to which they attached to and saw as the source of their worth. the difference is that one found someone who abused the self-worth-issues-induced-devotion and the other was lucky enough to find someone who actually cared. (i imagine noel could've easily fallen into an exploitative relationship the way charlotte had though.)

but maybe worse than that, charlotte at least had the self respect to be mad that she was treated as disposable, but noel is so far gone that the outlook of the other person doesn't even matter to him. (well, it does psychologically, but he'd still nearly kill himself for someone who he thinks hates him, ex. sirius.) and despite this behavior clearly having developed out of a need to have someone determine his worth, he constantly isolates himself from that person and thinks the best choices are the ones that don't lead to him ending up by her side (even if he's obviously sad about that), and i think this really bothers charlotte -

that not only did he form the same attachment she did, not only would he continue being devoted even if the relationship got fucked, he's the one actively fucking it over and won't even admit that he wants to have a life with her even though he obviously does. charlotte sees someone who has someone who actively cares about him, but still decides to make himself disposable for her. so to her, the first few steps are very similar to what happened to her, but the last few steps seem like an entirely self inflicted version of that pain. which i think is why she tells him to just indulge in his desire to be with her, albeit in the most unhinged way he could possibly indulge that.

i doubt noel really... sees the reason that charlotte sympathizes. like, he probably doesn't know what she's been through. but like... i feel they exist in such a similar trajectory to each other.

but even more ironically, charlotte is... still devoted to someone. i wouldn't say it's the same, i don't think this is a case in which the devotion determines her own self-worth, but it almost feels ironic to see charlotte laugh about these things, laugh about caring, laugh about loving, when she feels a knowingly pointless devotion to someone too, someone who will never notice and is not equipped to return it. that she'll put herself at knowingly ultimately pointless risk just out of her love for lime. and it just makes me feel like these characters reflect each other even more.

We actually don't talk enough about Taylor playing WCS at her 19th show, pairing it with Mine from Speak Now, right after announcing the rerecord, and then not playing another Speak Now song for 13 shows until she played Haunted at her 32nd, because it's objectively one of the funniest things she's ever done.

The Mist Territory includes two clans, Dawnclan and Duskclan.

Dawn and Dusk were two shecat mates in the ancient times, until Dawnstar killed Duskstar, due to jealousy cause Duskclan has been doing so well as a clan while Dawnclan only seemed like a group of rogues.

Dawnclan is only filled with ginger, orange, pale ginger and brown cats and they usually had green, amber, Hazel or brown eyes.

Duskclan is filled with gray,black,white,blue gray , purple gray cats with purple,blue or white eyes. If the cat is a tortoiseshell and has both colors it’s up for the eye colors for the clan to decide if the kit is given to the opposite clan. For example a white and orange cat with Green eyes stays in Dawnclan.

white and black cats with eyes of the opposite clan are given to the other clan. Not vice versa (Ginger cats with blue eyes stay.)

Deerpaw has heterochromia AND is a tortoiseshell. That’s why she is believed to be a sign from starclan. The reason Duskclan kept her is to basically take the credit.
