I've seen a lot of talk about ENSekai removing queer subtext from a lot of the game, but are there any super egregious examples of this? Not doubting, just want to know what I might have missed as an EN player (especially re:mizuki but jut in general)

Actually the stuff with Mizuki remains entirely intact. I guess it would be pretty hard to censor especially considering how important it is to her storyline. The queer erasure comes entirely from stuff like (f/f or m/m) shiptease or implications of characters being gay. It's not all the time, and An/Kohane are mostly immune to this as well, but every now and then if there's a single line of dialogue that could imply a character is queer it gets edited. Probably the most egregious examples of this would probably be Asahi in Curtain Call, Toya in Walk on and on, Nene in Amidst a Dream, and one line from a 4koma with Honami/Kanade.

I linked the posts I've made on them if you want more details. The Amidst a Dream one is 4k words one was co-written with @/stageeofsekaii and goes into detail of various other examples of censorship (including what i just listed) and weird translation choices as well. So yeah, that’s about the most of it.

Hey! What are your expectations from the spanish gp? Lando had a brilliant weekend after months and yet a lot of ppl are predicting this smooth cruising momentum will screech to a halt with the arrival of TDs. Mclaren has been quiet adamant that the tds won’t hurt their car and for lando’s sake I hope thats true. But of course we’ll see on Saturday.

tbh i don't really feel like i have enough information about the car to have any concrete expectations at this point. i know lando as a driver has good momentum in this triple header, and i hope he can carry the confidence boost he got from such a great weekend in monaco into a very different track, but i also am not assuming that's what's going to happen. i'm hopeful and excited to see how it goes, but there are just mitigating circumstances that make me feel like i need to wait until practice at least to have any real sense of the weekend.

i've seen many people have a lot of hope or fear that the TDs will radically change things, but i'm just not so certain they will shake up the field as much as people say. i've read about all the ways in which mclaren's advantage is coming from their rear suspension and upgraded cooling system, not the wing. they've had a lot of notice about this change, and they've not shown much concern about it at all, so tbh i still expect them to be better on tires than other teams, and i think i remember tire degradation being a concern at this track.

i think it's going to be pretty warm but not scorching hot though, so i don't know how much that will matter. i know the circuit has some long straights, which aren't mclaren's strength, and it also has some high speed corners which also aren't where the car is strong either, but it's got a mix of corners. i don't know how overtaking will be, if cars are going to struggle to get close with dirty air or if they're going to be able to fight. i don't know how pit strategy is going to go. sorry for saying "i don't know" fifty times but i don't want to lie and say that i'm super confident it will be one way or another.

while lando did fantastic in quali in monaco, i'm not really assuming or expecting that he'll have a perfect quali in spain. monaco is weird, and doing super well there in quali is more about taking risks and sending it, not about mastery of car balance. spain is a much more conventional circuit, and i don't know if we'll see him revert to form. i hope not! i'm hoping he'll be smart and confident in q3 and deliver on the pace i know he has, but we'll have to see if he can put it together. i'm not as worried about sunday as i am about saturday. i really would love to see him end this triple header on a high note!!

I had a dream last night that is an actual plausible theory and I want to put it here so I can look back at it when the show either proves or disproves it.

First off, in the dream, Jax was one of the workers for C&A who knew about the circus's development. Maybe he was a programmer, or a random intern, who knows.

Now, Gooseworx said that Jax is going to do something "unforgivable" later in the show. Many people are speculating that he's gonna make someone abstract, aka kill them. But I had a thought- maybe he's not going to do it, but he's already done it and we'll see in a flashback or lore drop? Maybe... he's the one who got volunteers to try out the Circus? Maybe he was the "marketing team," so to speak, who convinced people to come try out this new VR and led them to their doom, even maybe KNOWING what would happen?

Gooseworx also said Jax is the newest member of the circus (besides Pomni, of course) and that he had the worst reaction out of everyone when he realized he was trapped in there.

I think maybe someone at C&A forced the headset onto Jax and trapped him there after something went really wrong, like the project needing to be hidden. A "No witnesses" situation, where the 22-year-old guy whose job was literally to tell people about it was too much of a loose end. Of course, if he was already in the know about the project, he'd instantly know he was f@#$&d, since Goose revealed that the circus members do remember their lives, just not their names.

(I think Pomni then found the headset years later after it was hidden and put it on at the computer we see in Episode 1, which is how this theory is still continuity-compliant. It's also why the headset itself looks old.)

Now, one more thing: I don't think anyone in the circus can escape. I think they're actually trapped forever. And Jax knew this, too, hence his freakout upon arrival.

Why?

Well, another thing Gooseworx posted was a list of warnings about the show. One of them was "corpse portrayal."

Additionally, when answering an ask about whether the show was going to have any major blood/gore, they said: "do decaying dried out corpses count?"

(YES, GOOSE, THEY DO.)

And I'm pretty sure we're all thinking the same thing.

Those corpses are the bodies of the circus members.

Entering the Amazing Digital Circus transfers a person's mind and consciousness into the digital realm. How could a body survive that? Be real here!

So, Pomni is dead. Jax is dead. Zooble and Gangle and Ragatha and Kinger and Kaufmo and Queenie and all the others whose names we don't know - they're all dead and decaying.

Which means, how can their consciousnesses escape the computer when they don't have a body to go back to?

And if putting on the headset really is a death sentence, then hoooo boy... Getting people to put it on even when you know they're doomed would be a pretty unforgivable thing to do, eh?

So, to summarize:

-Everyone in the circus is DEAD.

-Jax is the one responsible for everyone (except Pomni) being stuck in the Circus and therefore dying.

-We're going to see their bodies. They probably all got thrown in a cellar somewhere by C&A to hide the evidence. A fitting parallel to the Abstraction Cellar.

I sure hope I'm wrong, but I can't find any evidence against this so far.

So, I'm not sure why everyone is so certain that Armand's story has to be a complete lie because it's not a one-to-one recreation of the scene in TVL. You guys do remember that Louis is white in the books, right? Claudia is five? Lestat's father lives with them?

This isn't the books. Of course Armand's version isn't completely correct, but pointing out how it differs from the books isn't proof of anything.

I am not sure what to make of Agate's smile at the end when she looked at Spinel.. I wonder if she was smiling because she was satisfied about their plan going smoothly, or was she smiling thinking about how she would betray Spinel eventually and that he was acting exactly the way she wanted him to. Spinel said that he was the only one who can actually analyze the Rakurium, so maybe Agate needs him for that.

It's pretty interesting thinking about how Spinel is getting quite comfortable around Agate, too. He usually shows open affection towards Blacky when they are both alone, yet in this episode, he gave Blacky pats with Agate around (and he was so cute about it too w). That's something he didn't do when him and Agate met up privately back in HZ034. So it feels like things are shifting a bit for them, and Spinel behaves a bit differently around Agate now.

The two of them clearly have their own agenda now, since they do not intend to report information to Hamber, presumably because he would report said information to Gibeon. And it looks like they need Gibeon for some reason (Spinel talking about ensuring the future of the Explorers back in HZ064), so they had to take Amethio out of the equation. I am still not sure what to make of their dynamics. Maybe they are really working together towards a common goal. Or maybe Spinel thinks he is using her, while she is the one using him?
