Spamton who use to Caregive for the other Addisons who were stressed after full busy days and sense he was usually between jobs they'd just kinda throw themselves at him to be Cared for and he just Quickly Adapted without looking into it.

Spamton who got into a relationship with Tenna in his big shot era and immediately recognized how Stressed Tenna was (eldest Dreemurr child Tenna suffering from Eldest Daughter Syndrome), so he'd treat him like he use to the other Addisons when they were stressed and eventually just Coaxed Tenna into Regressing.

Spamton who use to unwind by playing with the Swatchlings in Queen's Castle while waiting for Phone calls, teaching them games and ways to pass time that he learned from Pippins, getting them to unwind and relax and engage in more and more silly kinds of behavior.

Spamton who after crashing found himself on Noelle's computer and watched a sad, lonely, stressed little girl just look desperately for anything to help her cope with everything. Spamton who knew her history. Spamton who saw her love of creepy pastas and comfort in child-friendly horror. Spamton who reached out to a Lightner, not for profit, but because she needed him as much as he needed to be Needed.

Spamton who accidentally Caregives for everyone he comes across. Spamton who still thinks Agere and CG/L are the same thing because he's 47 years old and only ever interacted with Regressors who didn't/couldn't explain it to him and he never bothered to Google It.

for real WHERE does the idea that [utdr humans] are nongendered so that "you can project on them" come from. their literal character arcs are about NOT being a blank slate to be filled in by the audience

i think i understand the assumption on some level for undertale, because there is a very intentional effort to make you identify with the "player character" in order to make your choices feel like your own (the beating heart of undertale's metanarrative lies in giving you an alternative path to violence against its enemies after all, and whether you're still willing to persue it for your own selfish reasons. YOUR agency is crucial).

of course, the cardinal plot twist of the main ending sweeps the rug from under your feet on that in every way, and frisk's individuality becomes, in turn, a tool to further UT's OTHER main theme: completionism as a form of diegetic violence within the story. replaying the game would steal frisk's life and happy ending from them for our own perverse sentimentality, emotionally forcing our hand away from the reset button.

i think their neutrality absolutely aids in that immersion. but also, there's this weird attitude by (mostly) cis fans where it being functional within the story makes it... somehow "editable" and "up to the player" as well? which is gross and shows their ass on how they approach gender neutrality in general lol.

but also like. there's plenty of neutral, non PCharacters in undertale and deltarune. even when undertale was just an earthbound fangame and the player immersion metanarrative was completely absent, toby still described frisk as a "young, androgynous person". sometimes characters are just neutral by design. it's not that hard to understand lol.

anyone who makes this argument for kris deltarune is braindead. nothing else to say about it.

Ugh I can’t stand how chiefs fans are making fun of jamarr and calling him a diva (among other names) when Travis literally screamed in his coach’s face during the Super Bowl and has been ejected from a game before for disrespecting the ref.

tbh i don't mind chiefs fans shit talking ja'marr, they have every reason to hate him. he's embarrassed their team plenty and has done more than his share of shit talking. let them have their fun (although i agree it's def hypocritical after that travis moment that i guess no one ever wants to talk about!)

what upsets me SO much though is seeing our own fans turn on him. calling him selfish for the hold-in, blaming him for the contract debacle, saying he's overrated, saying we should trade him and keep tee (when they were all saying the exact opposite when tee requested a trade TWICE a few months ago 🙄). and i do understand that ja'marr was in the wrong for this penalty, but getting ridiculous penalties against the chiefs is kind of just what he does! like it cannot be emphasized enough how much that man hates the chiefs lmao.

ja'marr has been STRUGGLING these past few months and it's obvious how much of a toll this has taken on him. i'm not at all surprised things boiled over to a tipping point when he thought he was tackled in a particularly dangerous way (whether he was right or wrong, he DID believe it). right now he's taking a huge risk being out on the field at all without any real guarantees for the future. that shit is scary, it's scary betting on yourself even when you do believe in yourself 100%. people play better when they feel secure, when they feel valued, and the front office did everything they could this offseason to make him feel the opposite.

i'm really hoping he can have a big game this monday. supposedly the commanders defense is Not Good, so that should help us! (i just hope it isn't a trap game for us. but the fact that we're 0-2 i think will make the guys take it seriously.) winning helps cure all ails for competitors like ja'marr, and i believe we've got a lot of that ahead of us!

Okay, Tumblr, consider this: Eldritch Horror, but it becomes increasingly clear that it's not that the Terrifying Beings Beyond Our Comprehension aren't like, uncaring, or seeing us as beneath their notice or whatever, but are in fact the equivalent of like. Conservationists or wildlife rehabbers desperately trying to keep the protagonist(s) alive and stop humans from driving ourselves to extinction.

Bonus points if some of them are uncaring and some are desperately trying to protect the Squishy Humans, but from the humans' perspective, it's super difficult to tell the difference.
