the rejection, albeit expected, bites kallian like the bug that crawled into her tent the day prior. doesn't hurt the same way a whip or the sharp edge of a knife does, but does anyway in the most annoying sense possible—difficult to ignore.

of course sharrah would reject her. it's normal—there's no reason for the dalish to associate herself with city elves like kallian, not too different like the cowardly hares burrowing themselves into the safety of their nests in the ground.

kallian suddenly feels regrettably small in front of sharrah's frame.
