saying this as respectfully as possible but. Do not put fandom content creators on a pedestal. We are also just fans contributing to a community just as you are. We have boundary on our own work and that’s it. What I say is not and should not be considered sth the whole fandom should listen to. I’m just a normal ass person ranting about things on my blog. If it does not have a fandom tag for others to engage in, do not make it out to be me trying to start fights or addressing the whole community. Because it���s not.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, my art, my lore talk, is biased. I’ve never tried to hide that I view Marika a certain way and will always develop my theory following that base assumption.

Aside from translation stuffs and pointing out in-game items, everything else I say you can look at it, agree or disagree, and move on to form your own opinions. Just because I draw stuffs doesn’t mean you get to saddle me with responsibilities about managing fandom expectations. What the hell? I’m a fan artist, I’m the last person who you should look at for “leaderism” (?) WHAT?

I can and will be a hater in my own space, like I know sometimes other artists will just post their stuffs and not engage too heavily with fandom, and for a while I did try to do that here (because I’m already a dramatic ass on twitter), that’s just not me though.

You will get art and you will get my opinions as well.

yall are about to piss me off by not having any PASSING basic knowledge of the way the u.s. military manipulates its recruits into joining by typing up one of your uninformed, unresearched, unempathetic, individualistic, unbelievably annoying posts about how 100% of the people in the military ended up there because they just Love America So Damn Much! they're extremely mature and informed at time of recruitment, they can totally leave anytime they want, they totally had tons of other avenues in life they could've taken, there was no rush at all to get income as fast as possible, and everyone in the military also totally is part of the combat divisions and personally enjoys being IN the military very much, big believers of violence. everyone in the military is shooting guns all day, that's how that works. they LOVE BLOODSHED. also I love the "amewicans haha" twang to this type of shit because you're actually TOTALLY stealing our Thing, which is turning systemic issues into Individual Issues. Instead of talking about the powers that be, it's so Personal Choice up in here. It's, "well you shouldn't have done it then. I totally wouldn't because I know better." you don't wanna talk about the military industrial complex as a whole, and you don't want to talk about recruiters, you just want to pin the blame on Specific Individual People one-by-one, as if they're responsible for the system that they're being ground up in. someone was in the military? bad person, no matter what. it's easier to believe that, I guess, than to acknowledge that Normal People (with high school educations) are manipulated and incentivized into joining a system that is Bad. at like age 18. but yeah no that 18 year old should have just been smarter lol haha anyway here are some screenshots for no particular reason

side note this reply of someone going "umm just get loans and go into a high paying field it's easy XD" as a direct response to someone trying to explain how most americans joining the military are being funneled in that direction out of a need for money.

and another person who Decided that americans join the military just CLENCHING their teeth thinking of other people, and not thinking completely selfishly about their own selves and their own income/housing/healthcare.

As someone who hasn't read the Wicked books I was wondering if there's a specific reason why Gelphie fics tend to give them the "they lived on a farm" ending? I love it every time but I'm curious if there's something in the books that hint to Gelphie wanting that for their future?

Or maybe every author just loves the gay cottage core aesthetic (me too lol). Love Attrition so so so much 💚

I have noticed this phenomenon as well and I have no idea why it occurs. I guess there's just something charming about these two women in a farm? I mean me personally I see gelphie and they just scream cottagecore to me. But other than a quick mention of Glinda's family preferring rural Gillikin (which is mentioned to have dairy farms) there's really not a lot of canon hints that's what they want! Canon book Glinda would probably be appalled at the idea of working on a farm, if I'm honest.

That being said I also eat it up every time. It's my favorite thing for them <3 And I'm glad you like attrition, thanks! :D

Hello! I hope this doesn’t sound weird, but I just wanted to tell you about how your style has inspired me so much!! Probably an ask you’ve gotten a lot, but I just have to know; how do you go at line work? It looks so good when you do it. Like, you’ve perfected where to leave gaps, what should be thick and thin, what should be subtle shading, etc. I’m so jealous! Do you have any suggestions on how to improve in this area? I’d love some insight!!

For line weight, Mark Morales covers it very well here

Aside from using line weight to show light source, you can also use it to emphasize stuff, which is what I like doing. I think it's essentially the same logic though- I just bend the rules often to make it work the way I want it to. Lots of trial and error and fixing stuff.

As for the gaps, I don't really know how to explain it without sounding a little weird. I think it's just something I developed as a habit where areas where you're supposed to connect with thin lines, I just don't finish it. Most of the time I don't finish my lines, because I don't need to. I live and embrace the karma of not connected line art when I color it.

I think my style boils down to How do I draw good with the least amount of work which sounds questionable, but the less I focus on whether each individual line connects or looks good, the more stamina I have for the rest of the drawing.

Real answer: probably try doing gesture drawings with the least amount of lines possible with 2 minute timer to simulate what happens in my brain when I do line art. you can try to apply the line weight stuff and think okay where would I apply thickness to show shadow or emphasize curves

I mean I love a good enemies to lovers just as much as the next person but it's so much more realistic to me if sometimes the feelings don't change. Sometimes the the bad things ARE inexcusable, and just because someone has a sad backstory doesn't mean a character has to start liking them.

ALL HAIL SPITE WRITING Romeo and Juliet or Softest Sci Fi?

For context: occasionally, I read something that so deeply offends/irritates/upsets me that I rotate how I would have done it differently. I strip the concept down to bare essentials (i.e. "What if Romeo and Juliet, but Romeo is gay", or "how to navigate a budding polyamorous relationship while solving a murder," or, in this case "man falls in love with an AI") and build around that concept. I call this "Spite Writing" and I've plotted 3 novels (and made Jim plot one) because of it.

The latest one got WELL out of hand, and I've accidentally fallen in love with the concept that grew out of those bare essentials AND the characters. So while this should be a much closer race than it is, given how much I love Romeo and Juliet, uhhh....

I fear Monty owns my soul, actually.

I'm making myself a wiki page about him. This shit's dire.
