I have finally returned to the Jungle where it all fell apart.
A different person stands here today than did those long years ago. Someone who has suffered, for certain. But someone who has also learned to live despite that. Someone who has grown, slowly, but surely.
I will not lie and say this is not difficult. So many things are. But isn't that what I have spent the years coming to terms with? I can do difficult things.
Perhaps I will write more on this. In a different journal, as this one holds too many painful memories. I will start fresh, and fill new pages with this chapter of my life.
One that, while still challenging, holds so much more hope.

WIP Whenever
Thank youuuu @beaconfeels for the tag. I've done hardly any writing the last two days but I've done a lot of day dreaming about writing. Here's a scene from my current hyperfixation project, a crossover between Teen Wolf & Harry Potter:
Everyone in the Sheriff’s Station moved at once, rushing to grab gear and be out the door in seconds. For the second time that day, Hermione found herself in a race against time as Rafe took corners sharply down unlit streets and police sirens blared all around. When they pulled up to the dark building, she was not surprised to see a familiar blue jeep sitting outside. Stilinski rushed over to the passenger door where a redheaded girl sat, “Lydia, where are they?” The girl’s eyes were wide but she was seemingly calm, or perhaps frozen in nerves. She pointed towards a propped open door into the building. They were all just in time to watch as Stiles burst out the door, holding it wide open for Scott to guide a girl outside. “Oh hey, pops! So glad you’re here! Crazy night we’ve been having!” Stiles shouted to them, looking a little too happy. Stilinski groaned, “Stiles, I swear–” “Barrow is inside.” Scott offered. “He’s dead.” Hermione left Rafe and Stilinski to deal with their sons, instead following a half dozen deputies inside the substation. Parrish offered her a flashlight as they began looking around the pitch black space. One of the deputies shouted. Hermione followed the noise with the others, finding the deputy crouched over Barrow’s body. Barrow looked as if he’d been electrocuted. His clothing was singed badly, with some of the seams ripped apart. It appeared as if he’d been thrown, crashing into the chain link fence that partitioned the space. Assuming he was electrocuted, he had likely died from it. Which begged the question - was Barrow the cause of the black out, or was it one of the teenagers outside?

Was pondering how Mark’s rigid ass mask/lens is prob a Budget Thing (since squishy, bendy lens are pretty much a mandate for all hero animated series, like JL, BTAS, TNBA, Spider-Man, etc), and then I was slapped with a vision of Mark in a more JL/BTAS-ish style and I had to see it through. I am a genius btw.
#i had MANY thoughts while drawing my brain melted while posting so if ya have questions send 'em / ask 'em#but rapid fire: leans more into nightwing's look b/c bro's name is legit grayson + moves away from his father's sidekick/protege +#and legit has a blue and black outfit. that is soooo winking at robin (dick grayson specifically)#mark has a more casual / athletic fit and tried to keep his usual kicked puppy expression / mood#which then contrasts his more emotional (hero) side he acts upon when he's suited up as ANOTHER wink to the whole dual persona#mark does it unintentionally as he's eager to prove himself as invincible and thus more emotional/confidential/eager + feels lackluster#as just mark grayson.#but it's such a comic book trope it's interesting el show ignores the potential stakes for that + prob cause they dont focus on#villains#mark has debbie's cheek bones + pearls both so he skip the whole copy paste design tactic cartoons annoyingly use + wink at batman w/ pearl#nolan wears pink and debbie wears green b/c they have conflicting views on raising Mark but (used to?) stand on a somewhat#united front by having same collared shirt. but mark leans more on debbie's stuff visually w/ cooler colors + white shirt underneath#mark keeps his cape as another wink/nod at robins (tim drake TNBS specifically) which mimics his Dad + kid-like eagerness for hero stuff#which he gets rid off when he goes blue/black suit arc (cough cough nightwing looking ass) so just leaned MORE into it#mark has a heart on his chest because he's TRYING to do what he think he's best + emotional asf#lens/goggles are diff to keep the audiences' eye back at HIS eyes + look more ominous and predatory which the black/blue combo#already COULD do in canon but in show its just pallete swapped which ruins the more ominious look it probably intended#and doesnt really scream “OH NO! THERE'S NO GOLD! INCREDIBLY LONG INCOHERENT TAGS RANT INCOMING FAIR WARNING HAS BEEN GIVEN:#it makes me so so sad how little discussion there is about specifically ikuko because imho she fits so neatly into a lot of the more#overarching Big Themes of the game in a way that i have not ever really seen people take notice of or point out in a meaningful way#like even just off of the top of my head. the significance of names and what it means to go by a name that's Not Yours (she has like 4+)#what it Means to be a witch how it represents a person's deepest insecurities and flaws & how its at its core a coping mechanism#the fact that it takes two to create a universe and trying to do it on your own anyways has the capacity to bring you intense misery#^ (how she's shown to be extremely dismissive of her own work and skill until a collaborator comes into her life and helps/encourages her)#and even the family/patriarchy/misogyny stuff that is so prevalent in the rest of the game comes back around to her. even her Only Friend#(young&stupid atp to be fair) remarks that shes Weird for being unmarried + the little she does say about her past invites the question of#to what extent her self-image stems from her family deeming her a freak outcast & effectively disowning her while celebrating her brothers#and i have lot in my mind about the witch thing specifically because i think her particular situation is very reflective of what umineko's#entire magic system and fantasy facet as a whole is meant to represent for an individual. from what little we see of (what is presumably)#her Real personality she is shown to be deeply self conscious in a way that is JARRINGLY diametrically opposed to both 1.) what we see in#featherine and 2.) what we see when she is acting as a Public Figure. because both of the above are very much purposeful acts that she is#putting on in order to obfuscate her true self. and i have always been very resolute & adamant about not totally equating her to featherine#not only because im very firmly in the camp of “featherine is the avatar of the Pen Name & tohya is part of her too” but also very much b/c#i feel very strongly that the stark differences between the two are very centrally relevant to her character & her psyche. as is the case#with most other witches featherine's personality traits serve to reveal/magnify a lot of ikukos inner workings by playing on her#insecurities/reversing them e.g. ikuko being very quick to downplay her skill/achievements becomes featherine being the COMPLETE opposite#to the point where she barely registers even other witches as living beings rather than just fun touys. BUT even though i do champion the#ikuko/featherine separation so hard i ALSO think it is purposefully relevant that at first glance the line between them seems so blurry#her introduction implying a more nebulous separation between her reality/fantasy counterpart is i think is an intentional move on her part#like it is part of the front she is putting up when acting as the Author. as opposed to Ikuko the person who we (in a way ironically very#similar to the way that the Real Battler is presumably only shown during the boatscene) only very briefly get to see take up screentime#which even on a meta level lines up very well with her apparent underlying nature as a like. extremely private largely reserved/shy person#hit tag limit but if by some miracle anyone is still reading this thank you... please see ikuko with the love she deserves... ok ily byeee

i know it will never happen but i so desperately desire an origins-type playable backstory thing in all games but especially veilguard. i feel like it added so much depth to origins and made you feel instantly connected to your character in a way that gets lost in games like inquisition where you fill in the blanks as you go except for the bare basics. like, i do enjoy the freedom to willy nilly decide where a character was before the events of the story from a creative perspective, but the playable origins were just so good! especially when you go back to where your warden is from and can engage differently with the arcs there

Me Again is the twelfth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on 18 July 2025, by Republic Records. Written in the months after Swift had concluded her career-spanning Eras Tour, the album is inspired by “the strange feeling of suddenly being very close to your young, wide-eyed self again, while simultaneously making very adult choices”.
