Even though my posts make a decent amount of notes, I always compare them to others. Like I'll say, "Well this post has 262 notes, but there's this other person that posts fics that gets an average of 800 notes per fic within the first few days, so...." And it's like I know I shouldn't compare. My fics are really not catered to the reader-insert community as a whole and does well for the niche it's in, but.... There are some others in this niche that do better than me. So it's like.... 🤔🤔 even though I know notes are dependent upon multiple factors.

#rambles #i think what drives down the amount of notes i get is timing #i never post for the popular character when they're popular #mostly because it takes me like three updates to get a good feel of a character #maybe if i could post a fic the update they come out my fics would do better #but it takes me like eight months to write a fic in general so we should not be wishing for things that are impossible LOL #it just gets me thinking #logically i know my fics are good #logically i know that because i am the type of writer i am they will never cater to what's popular #and yet i still think #i'm never satisfied haha #the really conceited thing about this all is that like...#my first thought isn't 'my writing style isn't good enough to be popular'#it's 'i don't have the ability to take advantage of what's popular at the time'#so essentially i'm not blaming myself. i'm blaming everyone else #'no my writing style is fine. it's just that my crowd is a fickle bunch'#that's so conceited LOL #i have confidence in my writing. i just.... hate writing LOL #i think it's hard for me bc my fics have an average range of 40-400 notes #there's no statistical average because i write for popular and unpopular characters #some do well while others not so well #so it's difficult for me to get a good idea for how decent my fics are because the note amounts vary so much #some people average to 800-1000+ across the board #while others only 12 #wait i'll save the rest for a different post

no but really, I think it fits him really well! I had thought his UM would probably involve something kinda sleight-of-handy or pickpockety! and I looooved that it made such a nice loop-around back to episode 1. ❤️ I was. kind of half-expecting him to just run out and punch Riddle in the nose again. but instead this time 'twas he who offed the queen's head! it was great! and he did it while stone-cold terrified out of his mind! because Ace is the only remotely normal or well-adjusted person at NRC and therefore the only one who is like "we're going to literally die, this is super effed up". but he did it anyway!!!! I AM SO PROUD

tbh I don’t think therapy would have fixed Jayce and Viktor lmao. maybe would have softened their self-destructive tendencies but there’s no fixing that co-dependent relationship. Heimerdinger Mel and Sky are told “yeah, I can help treat their individual depressions but nothing is gonna reduce their co-dependency. I’m pretty sure separating them makes it a lot worse for not only them but much worse for everyone else. for everyone’s safety I suggest they’re not allowed to be more than a buildings length away from each other and even that is pushing it.” That therapist then quits on the spot cause now they’ve literally seen everything.

It’s like that scene in Brooklyn nine nine where all the physiatrists are observing and talking with Gina but instead it’s a whole crew of therapists and neurologists and physiologists trying to find out how these two men literally mind-melded together. They go to couples therapy but it’s literally just individual therapy held together because why tf not it’s the only way to get them to go.

"have we not had a good time together" shes pointing yaz to the rule that yaz very well knows is there: we can travel if you dont ask me any difficult questions. yaz knows this is the rule - "because you ask too many questions", "this team structure isnt flat" - but she also was the one to invite the doctor into her home so im pretty sure she also knows shes not gonna kicked out that easily. she has some leeway. which she has been using between revolution and flux, which is why the doctor reminds her of the rules

i dont think she'd kick her out though. she wouldnt. i think it's just that the more you break the rule, the more unpleasant she becomes to be around, and eventually youre gonna walk out on your own. she doesnt want you to, she'd rather you stay and dont ask questions. but if youre gonna try to ask questions anyway, i think thats whats gonna happen

and yaz must think so too. because she does back off. because she doesnt want that to happen either. and it does anyway

#like on one hand omg this building is air conditioned? and im working with mostly women?#but also on the other hand where's the union brother #where's my monthy union meetings with 50 year old men #also 12 hour shifts with only three breaks? and lunch isn’t paid? a 12 hour shift at the factory would be a minimum of 5 or 6 paid breaks #but also no one is dying of heart attacks or having heat strokes on the factory floor and it's not as physically demanding #but also while the workers aren't yknow dying sometimes the people we take care of are?? so theres that #idk the differences and trade offs are interesting
