HOLY COW! I’VE BEEN TRYING TO KEEP HUSH HUSH ABOUT THIS FOR SO LONG, BUT NOW I CAN SHOUT ABOUT IT!! My friend is DMing a campaign and I get to be a player! I was told to keep all the character art quiet until it started so that’s why I have been inactive for a while! Hope you enjoy! Session 30: Strategizing to No End

Memorable Epic Moments: - After polymorphing one of the frost giants into a rabbit, Fussin flew 100ft above the hole and let it drop, releasing concentration and causing the frostie to take 22d10 fall damage (nearly killing him) - Skychi finished off a frost giant by yeeting himself down the hole and pile driving him to instant knockout before decapitating him and letting out a loud draconic victory cry

Loot and/or Magic Items gained/found: - Nobody looted the bodies… yet

Session Summary: - After much, and I mean MUCH strategizing, the group FINALLY decided to start their ambush - With a couple smart tactics, the group focused all their firepower on the archer, who was swiftly defeated (less than two rounds) - They defeated the other frost giant by dealing him 22d10 fall damage and 12d6 additional damage from Skychi jumping on top of him - Skychi let out a victory battle cry that could be heard both on top by the others as well as everyone else inside

DnD highlights again!

Getting these down while they’re still fresh in my mind. <3 Today’s session went pretty great, even if we did have an ABUNDANCE of crit fails (most of them more annoying than hilariously awful). Morgan is very very grateful to be randomly assigned a Halfling race because all their crit fails got re-rolled, but they did get crit by an Ogre and were immobilized for one turn due to being stuck in the goddamn floor. The dice gods love to fuck with us, but sometimes we fuck back.

- Morgan apparently ships the Ogre and the Orc we encountered earlier (the ones who ate the pasta). They couldn’t remember what species one of them was, so when they were recalling their adventure to ‘Corbie’ (Pixie the Kenku, who was absent last session), they called the pair “The Orc... an’ ‘is boyfriend.” - Morgan says the party’s Tabaxi ‘died of stupid’ multiple times. Tabaxi is not happy. Cleric says they’re technically right. Cleric has a negative INT motifier. Tabaxi shuts up, Morgan loses their shit. - Speaking of stupid...  >There’s a glowing rune on the floor  >Alan the Tabaxi wants to pounce on it because shiny  >Me OOC: “Roll to prevent stupid?”  >Everybody laughs but Tabaxi instincts be strong  >One successful persuasion check later, stupid is prevented  >(Morgan is team dad/parent???) - Stupid is however NOT prevented when ‘Laddie’ (Lon, the cleric with the negative INT modifier) steps into a circle of pebbles, because Morgan said not to (and their back was turned). They contain Wild Magic. THANKFULLY the only negative effect is scaring Lon slightly when the pebbles generate a minor illusion of being on fire. Morgan is pretty Done with this. - Thanks to a well-timed crit, Morgan ran behind another Ogre and chopped off his foot on the way. It didn’t kill him but it was pretty sweet. Morgan loves their chef’s tools. - Potential stupid was also prevented by Pixie, and luck with a coin flip. They put one of their feathers under the a locked door that has things on the other side, and they hear those things get excited. In retrospect, that was probably a bad sign... but thankfully the party is prevented from going that way when a coin flip sends them through a different door. - The door led to an Intellect Devourer. Cue everyone freaking out. 'Corbie’ actually taunts the thing and successfully learns a very nasty swear word in Deep Speech. - And thanks to another well-timed crit, the party ended up eating the very same Intellect Devourer that tried to eat them (or, well, specifically Lon’s brain) thanks to a crit success on a check Morgan wasn’t going to bother doing. They were literally about to say “well, ah’m not eatin’ that” when DM prompted a Survival check. They rolled a nat 20. - The result? Intellect Devourer Schnitzel Sandwiches (made with pounded leg meat, which the DM pronounced ‘very very edible’), with melted smoked cheese. The entire voice chat went ‘oooooh’, Morgan got advantage on all the checks thanks to the crit, and there was enough left over for 2 extra portions. The DM was impressed. (And I’m going to draw this later) - After so many successful cooking sessions and someone asking about how they learned to cook, some of Morgan’s backstory was unlocked! They went to culinary school back in the ‘real world’ not just because they love food, but because of a friend of theirs who died in a drunken accident (”Gettin’ fucked on 3 bottles of Buckfast an’ pickin’ a fight with a double decker bus”). - The party were actually nice about this and didn’t laugh, even though their friend died incredibly stupidly. Following that, Morgan seemed to have bonded with the party well enough to accept a hug from Kitty Cat (Alan) and Laddie (Lon). Character development! - Morgan apparently knows what a Mimic is. Everyone collectively decides this means he’s played Dark Souls back in the real world. As someone who’s worked in kitchens irl, can confirm this is probably true. Chefs fuckin’ love video games. - Alan avoided an attack by the last dungeon bosses (Twin Skeletal Minotaurs we dubbed Twinotaur and Minotwin) by catloafing. One of them completely failed to hit Morgan, and they responded by making a very rude noise. Lon ate an Intellect Devourer Burger like a duck. - Morgan might have also impressed the DM in a more subtle way? Namely, by asking the messenger of the divines about a note he picked up in (what’s now been dubbed) the “Training Wheels Dungeon”. The party now has a lead that it’s in a cipher a local Wizard knows, and a location of said Wizard. Not bad for a random ‘do you know what language this is in’. - They also have a lead on Wilvalor, who briefly appeared in a dream Lon had. It... took him a few attempts to relay the relevant information to us (that the dungeon exit was in the Northeast Corner). Morgan seems... oddly enthusiastic about seeing him again? - Morgan also seems to be getting used to magic being A Thing, and they were even able to converse with the Fae Messenger nicely. They are, however, still highly suspicious of things that look magical even when an Arcana check says they’re harmless. Character development... ? - And since we’re level 4 now, the DM was going to give us the option of picking a Feat on top of our +2 stat bonuses... but I suggested she pick for us based on what we did prior to the relevant level up. So now we’ve got something to be hype for next session. But anyway next up is shopping, and the DM’s also planning on introducing us to a barter/miniquest system. Hype!

Session 29: Scouting the Lair

Date: Monday, January 24, 2022 Adventurer Level: 11

Roll Call: Players Present: - Cheetara - Fussin - Lightsnacc - Thorin - Wilvalor Players Missing: - Skychi

World Map Region(s) Explored: - Frost Giant Hideout #5 ○ A Frost Giant outpost about 2.5 miles northwest of Mamadomtrix - Ben's Log Cabin

New named NPCs met: - Foxie, a wild fox northwest of the town - Ben - a lone fisherman who directs people to the frost giants but warns them of the mortality of the mission ○ He also feeds the humans who work with/for the frost giants and they leave him alone (humans enjoy fish)

Session Summary: - Waking up an hour before sunrise, the group very quickly grabs breakfast - Fussin grabs food to-go and runs over to Knives 'n' Plates to pick up his newly-refurbished armor - The group heads northwest of Mamadomtrix, eventually running into what look to be human-sized footprints - They trace the footprints back to their origin, finding a lone man's log cabin with fishing stuff everywhere - After meeting a fox and chatting it up, the party decides to go and talk to the fisherman who is fishing by the lake - He tells them what they want to hear (where the frost giants' hideout is), but also warns them that none who go there ever return to thank him for his warning - They go anyways, and Fussin casts Clairvoyance to get an advance look at the situation, happens to see the changing of the guard(s) - Cheetara, Fussin, and Thorin go ahead to take an up-close look while the rest of the party stays back half a mile away

Highlights of today’s DnD session!

A few notes for context: - This is only my second ‘proper’ DnD campaign - It’s srs but not super srs, so the plot is basically ‘people from the real world get transported to DnD land and get turned into non-humans to Save Shit’, allowing for memes and Jokes™ - I’m playing a Lethal Joke Character called Morgan Quinn, who is Scottish, quite ill-tempered, and basically has ‘battle chef’ as their class - And I do mean lethal because their stats rolled very high - This is our first dungeon - The dice gods decided to fuck with us by throwing the absolute strongest enemies on the DM’s list of possible encounters in our way After four hours of play there were extensive shenanigans, so they’re under a cut for your convenience.
