Plot Drop 002:

Lord Stark had approached Queen Valaena Targaryen about half an hour after her speech opening the week long festivities. He was stricken with worry, and it had already been noted by many in court that the North had arrived with but a tiny fraction of the hosts they were expected to bring. Queen Valaena accepted his request for an audience and they moved to the Small Council chambers with her councilors. Lord Stark wasted no time in getting to his point:

"The Others have returned"

The statement was met with laughter from several of the members of the Small Council, but the Queen wanting to be fair to one of her most loyal lords requested elaboration.

"The Others have return and already struck first blood at the Wall."

Lord Stark went on to share the tale that the Lord Commander had sent to Winterfell by rave. The men on the Wall had thought Wildlings were in the treeline right beyond the Wall, and when the Lord Commander and First Ranger took out a team of 50 men to deal with the party, they were not met by Wildlings, but by the undead Wights. They slaughtered almost all the men, only the Lord Commander, the First Ranger and 5 of the men they took with them made it back. Since then the Wights have still been lingering in the woods, but made no efforts to come closer.

Lord Stark continued to share how that was why so many men of the North were not present, but rather they were preparing food, and horses, and weapons and were going to begin a march to the Wall, to reinforce the Lord Commander's numbers, and to ensure that the Realm would be safe from the evil beyond the wall. He ended his tale with this request:

"We need you and your dragons, your Grace. We need your massive southern armies to march North. Only if we all stand together can we defeat this evil."

After a long silence from the Queen, she came to her conclusion:

"Lord Stark, I have the utmost respect for you. Winter is coming though. We need our men here, working the final harvests. Preparing for the millions of people who will need shelter, and our protection from that coming darkness. While I do not want to dismiss these claims.....it has been a long time since the Others have attacked, let alone be seen, verifiably." A long sigh, "I will need to send a party of royal representatives, people who's word I would trust without a doubt to investigate these claims, who could then report back to me their findings."

"Your Grace, this is a dire matter it will not matter what we do with food if-"

"Lord Stark, I have heard your plea, and made my decision. I will not do anything to stop you from recruiting lords whom want to send men of their own free will, but I will for now, order no one but my representatives to the Wall. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and now let us return to the festivities."

Lord Stark could only bow his head, while he was disappointed with her answer he would not fight her, for he knew he would need her and the Targaryen dragons. Still he would not stop himself from showing his displeasure and he did go off to try and recruit more lords to his efforts.

what an interesting concept for a rp! lore question that I have, since this is an AU, since when has Dorne been a part of the Seven Kingdoms and how did Summerhall and the Dragon Garden came to exist? Also, seeing that Lord Tyrell's marriage, is it safe to assume that same-sex relationships are socially accepted?

First let me start off by saying thank you!! I wanted to create a collaborative rp rather than a player vs player environment! So to answer your questions: During the reign of King Aelor I Targaryen, he brokered a marriage between the future Ruling Prince of Dorne and one of his younger daughters! When their father died, the new Ruling Prince of Dorne, his wife and King Aelor completed the alliance by fully bringing Dorne into the folds of the Seven Kingdom. Just like in the original lore, they were allowed to keep their royal titles and were semi-autonomous. Summerhall, was much like in the original lore, built during the reign of Queen Rhaenys I, Aelor's daughter. She built it so that the royal court would have a new palace closer to Dorne to help secure the alliance, but also to have a beautiful summer home when winter came to Westeros.

The Dragon Garden came to fruition in the Reach during the reign of Queen Alysanne. After a trip to Highgarden and the Water Gardens of Dorne, her ambition became to create another royal palace to retreat to from King's Landing that mixed the most beautiful aspects of both locations.

As for same-sex relationships just like absolute primogeniture is largely a case by case basis depended on the house and the ruling lord. While it may be more acceptable within some families and some locations, it may not be as acceptable in others. More martial houses for example may not be as welcoming of the idea. Of course depending on your character's station, this lack of acceptance may either be public or whispered behind their back.

ehat's the status of the different religions of the known world? i suppose the faith of seven is still the main religion of the Seven Kingdoms and the North still follow the Old Gods, but is the drowned god still a thing in the Irold Island (and what about their Old Ways?)? and would followers of the Lord of Light be allowed in Westeros? just curious to know how different things are due to the UA nature of the plot (given that we have equal primogeniture, for example).

Hi anon! What a great question! Let me break some things down for you! So starting by addressing that there is equal primogeniture is not completely true! While the Royal Line of Succession is now based simply on whomever is born first not every house subscribes to this! Some Houses still see the eldest boy, NOT the eldest child as their true heir. The Crown does nothing to enforce this change onto other houses, leaving it up to each house to chart their own path: The Westerlands, Stormlands, and Vale for example still predominantly put their male heirs before their daughters. NOW as for religion! You are correct in saying that the Faith of the Seven is the predominant religion, and that the North still follows the Old Gods. The Iron Islands still believe in the Drowned God HOWEVER, most aspects of the Old Way such as raiding mainland Westeros do not take place. Since the Dance of Dragons never took place the dragon population is healthy and thriving. Before the 100 years of peace, the Targaryens did have to remind the Iron Born who they were sworn to and why. It is a lesson that has still not been forgotten, and since there are even more dragons, and dragon riders.....it is a lesson that would be even worse if it had to be repeated once more. As for the Lord of Light, you will be hard pressed to find ANY nobles that follow R'hller. Since there was no War of Five Kings, Stannis never imported and imposed it on his followers. It still has some followers, mostly in Dorne, King's Landing and Oldtown. It is not illegal to follow R'hller, just uncommon. Sorry this answer got long !!! But I hope it answers your questions!
