Duchess Satine “The Lawless” (Pre-Battle) Build Summary/WIP

Pieces: Undertunic (first layer) Sleeves Overtunic Pants Collar/Shoulders Belt Boots Wig Appliques (extra notes)

Important notice: For some reason my camera photographs things very warmly. The images you see are actually more cool toned than they appear. I have yet to get a nice camera other than my old iPhone.

Introduction: This costume was first constructed between Late September 2024 and Early March 2025 for MandoMerc and Rebel Legion approval, first worn at Birmingham MegaCon and then reevaluated and upgraded between February-(Ongoing) 2025 for future approval. Materials are a mix of fabric, leather, general sewing supplies, beads, and pre-owned and thrifted items.  I shall review materials individually in each costume piece as needed. The only piece of the costume I did not make myself or heavily modify were the pants.  All patterns were either self-drafted or heavily modified from a preexisting one.

Undertunic (first layer) This layer is a cocktail dress with the indented shape at the bottom, with added embroidery and beading. It has a modified neckline with a fitted bodice composed of six panels sewn together. The piece consists of a hidden side zipper, straps, and a shift-like garment with pthalo coloured silk velvet. The beads are 2-3 mm real freshwater pearls in gunmetal silver, teal, blue, and grey. I got them off of Facebook Marketplace for a fantastic price. The piping is entirely hand sewn and a reflective silver.  To match the cartoon, I made sure to use a couple rows of the larger pearls to get the slight size variation as seen. 

Sleeves The sleeves were made of the same pthalo toned teal velvet, and it is a separate piece from the underdress. They are attached to the decolletage. I used midnight blue cotton to line the insides. The sleeves are where I took a couple liberties. The cartoon shows sleeves with six rows of coloured dots approximately an inch and a half apart, in the same teal/silvery colour as some of the dots along the underdress. I used my larger 4-5 mm freshwater pearls on the sleeves. They are sewn on with double clear thread and handsewn on. I have seen other cosplayers paint their dots on, but I didn't want to do that because I want Satine to look like a duchess in real life with the funding for elaborate costumes. The silver cuffs are made with the same silver satin as my Padme Amidala (AOTC) “Packing Gown” sleeves because it matched the colour, shine, and silver tone as the rest of the silver piping. The fabric was a crepe satin purchased at joanns. I handsewed these cuffs and stuffed them with rolled up extra velvet from the overtunic. The sleeves flare out at the wrists before the cuffs. I did that too. The sleeves have one inseam.

Overtunic The overtunic was perhaps one of the most challenging parts. I had purchased a stretch velvet and in a stupid moment forgot to line the stretch velvet with a non stretch material. Needless to say I learned my lesson and I will not be making that mistake again.  I drafted and used my own pattern using procreate, then used the midnight blue cotton to line the back of the two tunic pieces. I made this to my own height and measurements for the proportional difference (I am not bone skinny like our Duchess lol) and to allow for my constant weight fluctuations not to hinder me from wearing this kit. The piping is again handsewn, and the pieces are whipstitched together to hide the threads from the front. Both tunic pieces I attached to the collar/Sleeve piece.

Pants The pants were an extremely lucky score on a school trip to Slovakia. They were thrifted at a Humana Vintage store. They were the exact same colour and velvet as the over tunic!  They have the flare at the knee as required and are very comfy!

a little excerpt from chapter 2 of the waiting door :)

Mathyas is fourteen years old, and spring has reached the Great Valley. As the snowline retreats towards loftier heights—exposing the volcanic rock that sits beneath—meltwater runs in rivulets down the mountains, leaving alternating streaks of rust, teal, and obsidian. The sky is clear and the sun bright, but a thin breeze chills the air, carrying with it the scent of flowering roobrush and gold kanet. Below, the Cormari River glitters silver in the noon-light.

They stop for lunch by the shelter of a juniper tree, but it is too cold to sit in the shade, so they set up a few feet away, in a patch of warm sun. Danmon is collecting juniper berries for his father; Sjorvar uses them to make mead, he explains, a Nordic beverage not easily acquired in Morrowind. Whilst Danmon picks his berries, Mathyas lays out their spread. Dinya has packed nothing short of a feast, perhaps hoping to satiate two ravenous teenage boys. He announces each item as he draws it from his knapsack; crab and scuttle tartlets, peppered melon, stuffed vine leaves, cabbage biscuits, and, of course, Dinya's famous marshmerrow rice cakes.

"Praise be," Danmon exclaims from where he is balancing preciously on a low-hanging juniper branch. "I actually had a dream about those rice cakes the other day."

"Any contributions from your end?" asks Mathyas.

"There's some candied ginger in the left side of my pack. Birthday present from my gahalma."

New Site & Patreon Changes

First off, say hello to Simularity v.2025! All of the mod, custom content, lots, and other posts have been rewritten and streamlined with new features added, old features removed. I even created a new avatar for Simularity for 2025! If you find anything broken or otherwise amiss, please let me know. One downside of recreating the website for 2025, I lost all the comments on the old posts. Feel free to leave new ones on the new posts! Oh, did I tell you all that I’m on Bluesky now? 

Patreon Changes

Due to dire financial circumstances, I am changing the way my Patreon works and how mods are released. I have updated all of the tiers with new benefits and changed the price of two tiers. The biggest change I should mention here is the 2-Week Early Mod Access. From now on, the members of the $4, $8, and $14 tiers will receive mods 2 weeks before general release. Other benefits for the various tiers include special Discord roles, WIP Previews, Opinion Polls, All Updated in One Zip, All Mods in One Zip, Mods in Beta Access, and Top Priority Request. I plan on setting it up so that anyone can make one-time donations of either $5 or $10 on Patreon if they are unable to support a monthly subscription. I am also reading up on how to setup yearly subscriptions with a discount. (I’ve had to do a LOT of reading of Patreon help pages and manuals today!) I have deleted ALL old posts from my Patreon account. All future posts will be far better organized using Patreon’s Collections feature and I’ll do better when creating tags. I’ll make a post on Patreon detailing all of the changes. 

Mod Updates

No Dying Livestock – According to Maxis, the bug that caused animals to still die even with the “don’t die” option checked in Game Options–>Pack Options, has been fixed in the last v1.113 patch. So, unless someone tells me otherwise, my No Dying Livestock mod is now OBSOLETE.

Ultimate Adventurer Aspiration – Newly re-released after a total overhaul. I added some new features, fixed old ones, and more.

Paranormal Proficiency Aspiration – This mod did have broken social interactions. They are now FIXED. So, please download the updated aspiration file to get the fixed version.

More Outcomes to Advice Calls – Fixed a tuning error which may have been causing some users to experience LEs.

Stop Dogs from Drinking & Playing in Puddles – Updated for the lasted patches/packs and now includes code to stop Cats from drinking puddles.

The following career mods all had various fixes and updates made to them: Comedian Career, Adventurer Career, Psychology Career, Rock Star Career.

The following mods were all updated to work with the latest patches and packs: Invite Any Toddlers to Play Date Event, Don’t Do That Mods Vol 1, Don’t Do That Mods Vol 2, Faster Archaeology, Faster Plant Research, Faster Crafting on Gemology Table, Faster Book Writing, No More Time Capsules or Maps, Cottage Living Fixes Collection, and Better University Tutoring.

I have also edited the readme text files in all zip files (including Lots and CC in addition to Mods) so that they now include a short description of what the files are in the zip. This is so you will know what each file is for as long as you store the text files somewhere (don’t put them in your Mods folder).

New Mods

I have two new mods now in Early Access for Patreon members of certain tiers; everyone else will have access on March 17th. The first is a mod I created after being stranded without climbing gear while on vacation at Mt. Komorobi while testing out my Adventure aspiration. Now you will be able to purchase climbing gear directly from your Sim’s phone no matter where you are/no computer required! Buy Climbing Gear via Phone (Snowy Escape Required). The other new mod makes it so that you won’t feel like building/upgrading a Rocketship is equivalent to watching grass grow (it’s incredibly slow). It speeds up building by about twice as fast as before. If that’s still too slow, let me know and I’ll increase the speed more or make alternate flavors of the mod. Faster Rocketship Building & Upgrading (Base Game).

Custom Content Updates

I haven’t updated anything yet; nothing needs it yet that I know of. I saw that tattoos will become recolorable in CAS so I’m assuming all of my tattoo CC will need updating once Sims 4 Studio releases an appropriate batch fix. For now, they are not on the site, but I will be adding them back as soon as they are updated.

This blog's URL will change in the near future. I'm looking at "kierans-crow" right now, as I've picked up Kieran as my chosen name. It's not the name I was given at birth, but I'm also not the gender I was given at birth. I'm not killing my birthname. I just prefer Kieran to it. You can call me Kieran or Crow. You do you. (my pronouns are they/them).

I'll be sacrificing polyhedric-fate, which is the username for my DnD OC side blog. It's not getting used as well as I wanted it to. I'll be changing Polyhedric-Fate to CourtlyCrow and giving it several updates, while this, my main blog will be for my general reblog bullshit :)

Polyhedric Fate does see some reblogging though, but since I mostly draw OCs, it's perfect for a dual-purpose art blog and space for me to yell about my OCs!

My public Writing Blog which - also not seeing much use, and I've changed how I plan on using some features will remain the-corvid-scriptorium.

How to Indie Publish Your Novel

What happens after you write a novel? You can pursue traditional publishing or indie self-publishing. Camille Collins, a resident NaNo participant and indie published author, offers her advice on how to indie publish your novel.

Writing a book in hopes of becoming a best-selling author is only half the journey. You have to publish your novel first!

For those with completed manuscripts, congratulations! You’re halfway to your goal of becoming an author. One way to skip the stress and time consuming process of querying required by traditional publishing is to independently publish your book by yourself. 

This can be done through websites such as IngramSparks, CreateSpace, Wattpad, and of course the largest book selling website on the internet, Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). Your choices are not limited by any means, but for the best results, Amazon is the way to go for first time publishers.

Once you have your final manuscript, you can easily format it through Amazon’s free software called Kindle Create, or by downloading your book as an epub file from your preferred writing software. Once formatted, you can open KDP and begin the publishing process. After clicking on the “create new title” button, there are 3 pages of information you need to enter before your book goes live.

Book Details: This section will ask basic information about your book, such as the author’s name, the book’s title, and the blurb, as well as keywords and categories. It is important to do SEO research beforehand to know exactly what keywords and genre best fit your book. Your book’s subtitle and blurb are the places to squeeze in that information.

Book Content: To ISBN or not to ISBN? That is the question a lot of writers don’t want to think about when it comes to book expenses. Fortunately, Kindle offers free ISBN numbers for ebooks. If you plan to publish one or two ebooks, claim your free ISBN and forget about the hefty price of purchasing your own codes; however, for the serial author with a long list of future titles and big plans for marketing, purchasing ISBN codes from Bowker is essential for printing paperbacks on Kindle, as well as publishing on other platforms. I paid about $275 for a 10 pack of ISBN codes, so start saving up!

Book Rights & Pricing: How do you choose a price for your book after all the time you spent laboring over it? The answer is $0.99 or $2.99. To keep things simple, these are the most common prices for indie ebooks on Amazon, and having your first novel be affordable means you have a higher chance of making a sale. Debut novels and the first book of series do better with lower prices. 

After passing through the hurdles of KDP’s publishing process, all you have left to do is wait for your book to be approved and go live. Once again, congratulations! Writing is not easy, and most indie novels never reach print. Taking the time and effort to put your novel out there sets you apart…

Now all that’s left is to master the art of marketing!

dahlia bazaar - a living room set with outfits

Well my babes, it’s finished. I’ve spent 2 weeks on this baby and i’m super happy with it! When I first started putting it together, it had a really different vibe, and once I was a few items in, I got a really clear picture and I just went from there! There were things cut, things included at the last minute.. a lot of coffee was drunk!  This is a super long post, apologies! There’s a lot in here, 30 objects total!

Summary: Everyone is born with a mark shared by their soulmate, located somewhere around their shoulder blade. They say the mark burns upon meeting one's soulmate. Oliver knows what his is, but doesn't believe in the system. Barry doesn't know what his looks like, but he wants it to be a surprise.Set in The Flash and Arrow universes, but AU in the sense that I'm not sticking to the storyline laid out in either series, though I may borrow elements when they work for the story. Barry and Oliver are still The Flash and Arrow. Idea of the mark's location was inspired by the brand Oliver received in “The Fallen.”

knock knock, i love you, by @thelovejandles aka beautlouis (another one of my fave authors in this fandom, proof that wips DO finish, and they’re absolutely worth it). Harry and Louis get kicked out of a statistics exam for passing a knock knock joke note, and subsequently fall in love. Harry's a virgin, there's a cat, a hot cocoa date, a lot of sex, even more knock knock jokes, and everything is lovely and happy.

Tied Down, by @ham-palpert (the twists and turns here, my goddd, just masterful) The most interesting case in Liam and Niall's careers falls directly into their laps, courtesy of an epic fuck-up of one Harry Styles, partner to the almost-infamous drug dealer Louis Tomlinson. The investigation yields an unexpected yet satisfactory outcome for Liam and Niall. For Harry and Louis, however, things are far more complicated.

Alien Roadtrip! by @helloamhere (needs ao3 account; I love desert roadtrips, and this captures that vibe perfectly, plus it’s hilarious). For the first time in his life, Louis doesn’t know where he’s going. Harry doesn’t mind. Or, a roadtrip with desert feelings, too much snack food, and empty motels. Harry is definitely absolutely not an alien. That would be ridiculous.

Harry Styles Cooks..., by @magicalrocketships aka sunsetsmog (aka the very best wip on earth, I weep with joy whenever I get the notif). In which Louis Tomlinson can’t cook, there’s a very special shower curtain, and Harry Styles used to be a baker. Or Louis owns all of Harry Styles’ cookbooks, and he never intends to cook a single thing out of any of them.

Turning Page, by @daisyharry aka purpledaisy (pretty much every on-set picture I see of Harry these days just makes me tag it for this fic). “You wanna buy Harry a drink?” Louis lets his eyes drip back to Harry, to his wide eyes and the way his shoulders curve down. He really is pretty – Louis will be the first one to admit it and the last one to ever say it out loud. Louis almost smirks and his lips twitch as he tilts his head, “Not particularly, no.” An AU where Harry Styles tries to get lost in a place he’s never been. Louis Tomlinson has been perfecting the art of being lost for years. What they don’t expect to find is each other.

Are You Gonna Be My Girl? by loadedgunn (another one that inspired my sideblog dedicated to short fics! So much greatness packed in, Jesus, it’s in my top five for sure). Louis reenacts his first time, and Harry wants to be his good girl.

“burn this flame” by @rainbowninja aka rainbowninja167 (anytime I reread this, I smile...filed under hot and hilarious). When Harry gets invited to play in a celebrity charity match with Louis Tomlinson, Manchester United's star player, he's determined to impress him with brilliant football skills. The only flaw in Harry's otherwise foolproof plan? He has absolutely no football skills, brilliant or otherwise.

Challenging Nature: A Look into Male Lactation, by @jaerie (hands down, one of my fave kinks, handled fantastically well...and this isn’t the author’s only one!).  Even taking into account all the bizarre things Harry has subjected himself to in the past for the sake of an article, Harry has received his strangest assignment yet. Take Our Bodies Higher, by @littlelouishiccups (I’m something of a connoisseur of the phone sex trope, so the way this author flips it and makes *Harry* the operator plus what ensues? chef’s kiss!). Harry wasn’t often caught off guard at his job anymore. He called different men Sir, Master, or Daddy for work almost every week, but he’d never been told he was a good boy in a voice quite like that. In which Harry is a phone sex operator and Louis dials a wrong number.

Make a Dime Go One Hundred, by @screwstyles (I’d rec this for their jobs alone, but everything in it, just wow). “Do you think you could trust anyone enough to have full control over you?” he asks into the night, hoping his sentence won’t break their bubble. It doesn’t, if the way Harry’s eyes meet his is any indication.“What do you mean?” Harry’s voice is barely above a whisper, rough from the singing they had done earlier. Louis wants to keep this memory forever.“You know, if someone wanted to, uhm,” he coughs, “to tie you up, or blindfold you.” Or a friends to lovers AU where Harry volunteers to help Louis experiment with bondage. Anakin is finally reunited with Padme, Obi-Wan, and his mother after his death in Return of the Jedi. They have already forgiven him. He just has to forgive himself.

Luke’s light is fading but so is the pain. He doesn’t want to leave the soft glow in the Force which is his child—his children, but letting go is sweeter than falling asleep.

He is almost surprised when he wakes up and the world hasn’t ended.

He realizes with a jolt that he is standing up, but no sooner has the thought crossed his mind than his legs buckle beneath him. He collapses onto the hard-packed dirt and his knees can feel the grit on the ground—to hisvastonishment they are made of flesh once again. The weight of all those years and all their crimes, all their deaths is suffocating as the sobs take him.

Anakin’s wails echo off the drycast walls. The room is dim and smells of grease and hot sand and he is alone, alone and lost in the entire universe. There is no one and nothing else, just Anakin and the horror he has created. His ragged howls tear up his throat. His whole body trembles with grief.

Just when he feels like he can bear it no longer, a gentle hand comes to rest on his shoulder. He doesn’t have to look up to know who it belongs to.

“Shh, Ani, it’s all over now,” a familiar voice soothes.

“Mom,” he manages to whimper in between sobs. She kneels beside him and cradles his head against her chest. Anakin’s fingers find purchase in fistfuls of her threadbare clothes, clinging desperately as though he might fall, so starved is he for a friendly touch. His chest heaves with a lung capacity he hasn’t had in years, he realizes he has bitten his lip badly when he tastes blood. His shoulders shake involuntarily, snot and tears mingling on his burning face.

“Everything will be alright.”

“I’m so…sorry,” he wails, hating the hoarse sound of his own voice and knowing that the words mean nothing, that he has no right to ask forgiveness, no right—

“Not now, love. There will be time.”

Anakin sobs as if he’s trying to purge himself of the horrors he has seen and done, and Shmi holds him tightly through the storm, rocking gently. When the sobs subside into weak hiccups and he’s worn himself out, she guides him to a bed—his bed, he realizes. Shmi holds a damp cloth to his face—deliciously cool, a pang of guilt, a selfish waste of water. She wipes away the mucus and the blood, and kisses his forehead.

“Rest, my Ani. You have a long journey ahead. I love you always.”

She stays by his side, rubbing big circles across his back as he cries himself to sleep.

When Anakin awakens, the first thing he notices is the absence of pain. Sidious’s droids had engineered every detail of his suit to prolong his agony and fuel his anger; it has been so long since he has woken up without feeling pain.

The second thing he realizes is that he doesn’t fit in his bed anymore. His legs are too long, and he has been sleeping with them folded up awkwardly. His room looks much as it had the day he left it to join the Jedi Order. He can’t resist glancing around, wondering if he might see Threepio.

“Ani,” his mother says warmly from the doorway. Anakin sits up slowly, afraid to speak in case he starts crying again.

“Come, sweetheart. Breakfast.”

The bowl she sets in front of him is filled with porridge and blue cream, just like she would have made for him as a child.

A dark shadow falls across Anakin’sface. He catches Shmi’s glance, then looks down in shame. “I wanted to save you. I was too late. I’m sorry.”

“You could not have prevented it, sweetheart,” she says. “But you already know that.”

She’s right. His apology is not for leaving her behind, nor for returning too late. It’s for something much bigger.

Anakin gulps. In some ways that first stumble is his greatest secret. He never told anyone besides Padmé how he had first allowed the darkness into his heart, not because Sidious had commanded it but because it felt good, because he wanted Tuskans’ hearts to hurt like his did. Shmi had taught him kindness, and he had murdered in her name—he had savored it. How can he begin to ask her forgiveness for tainting her memory with the blood of children?

“I did something horrible,” he whispers.

Shmi puts her hand over his. “I am at peace in the Force, Ani. I love you fully and always, the good and the bad together. But there are some here who have not found their peace yet. If you truly wish to find yours, you must help them.”

“How?”

“You’ll know.”

“Who are they?”

“Many that you have met before,” Shmi says.

Fear lurches up in Anakin’s stomach. He can think of plenty people he does not want to see again.

“This is the path before you. You have travelled a long road here, and you must travel a longer one out again.”

“Will you come with me?” he says without raising his eyes to meet hers.

“What does your heart tell you?” Shmi counters.

A trembling sense of determination joins the fear and dread that echo through him. “That I’ll see you again,” he answers at last. “But…only if I do this. Alone.”

Build 0.5.2 and the Queer Games Bundle

Hello everyone! I have here a new build for you all! This doesn't add any new content to the game but there are a bunch of changes made to the game. Here is the full list of changes:

When Rex enters the frat house on the first day of Kamil's route, the music now transitions a lot more naturally.

Modified a line that happens near the end of Day 4 if you have encountered a certain scene variation from Brendan's Day 2.

Broke up a line from Brendan's Day 1 into two due to how it originally went offscreen.

Changed the background near the end of Brendan's Day 1 to save a little file space.

There's now a new CG in the game on both Days 1 and 2 of Brendan's route with its own set of expressions.

There are now fourteen new custom-made songs in the game. Three of these songs are ringtones. Five of these songs were composed by Haoran.

Brendan's sprites now indicate if he's having a boner or not. Previous scenes have retroactively been modified to accommodate this. Yes, you needed to know about this.

Very slightly modified a scene during Brendan's Day 2 near the end.

A few scenes have been modified to include some of Brendan's new expressions.

Kamil, Tucker, Liam, and Reggie now have new outfits for Day 1. Tucker and Reggie both have new outfits only in Kamil's Route.

Replaced the placeholder icon for the composer, Emma, with the new art he provided me.

Modified the lustful variation of the scene you have during Brendan's Day 2 to contain less blur and to make the transitions smoother.

A new image appears while Rex is in his room at the end of Day 1.

The common variety n*pon in Brendan's office background has now been replaced with a tiger plushie to avoid copyright issues.

Also, the Queer Games Bundle is now live! All the money spent on this bundle goes to all the queer game devs who participated in the bundle. By purchasing a commission, you automatically agree to the following:

The prices are set in stone unless I see a reason to raise it due to the complexity of the piece.

Please be sure to use USD only. If you're converting from your native currency, Please be sure to pay the full price.

For commissions regarding fanart or OCs, please be sure to provide clear reference images. Getting the correct colors is very important to me.

You may use the commissions for personal use, so long as you credit me as the creator.

You may NOT use the commissions for personal gain, whether that be merch, prints, etc.

I have the right to decline commissions. If I do so, do not send in money and expect a product. I will return the money and potentially block you from future purchases if you do so.

Any and all commissions are not to be used for commercial purposes unless both parties agree upon it. If you wish to do so, ask before you do and respect my decision if I decline.

I retain all rights to my artwork. That means that I can use them in a portfolio and post them on social media, however I will be sure to tag you on said platform if you ask me to do so during consultation. 

I will send you a WIP and ask you if you want any changes before I begin coloring and linework. If you do not specify what you want changed, later changes may not be accommodated.

When paying, be 100% sure that you want the commission since there will be NO refunds. If you fail to provide payment because you are not happy with the results you will be blacklisted. I would appreciate it if you tell me ahead of time that you are unhappy with the product during the sketching period to avoid wasting the time of both parties.

In order to get a commission started, the minimum payment has to be at least 50% of the commission total. If you want to pay only after you receive the product, kindly look for another artist to commission.

Partial up-front payments MUST be made within 24 hours of ordering or you will be moved to a lower priority in my queue and the next person in line will be focused on first.

I will add a watermark to every commission to show I made it. There is no compromising, and if the watermark is removed and the image is posted without it I will have it removed.

Please be sure to tag me or link my profile if you post the image on any site for proper crediting.

If you read the ToS, please be sure to let me know if there's anything you're curious about. However, I will not change anything in the ToS in any way. Asking me to do so will lead to me simply declining the commission and moving on to the next client. I do not want to argue over it, so I simply won't.

A new year, new content.

If you are reading this, welcome to a new blog I’m trying to start to sort of keep everyone updated on my progress on some of the work I do, most notably game design and mod development with maybe a sprinkling of some streaming thrown in. I’m going to try not to get ahead of myself just yet though.

First let me begin a incredibly short explanation for my absence in mod development for 2017. It was a hard year. Lots of personal events between moving twice, two very hard school terms, a passing of my grandmother, and trying to take care of myself since I believe self care to be important.

On the flip note though 2017 had plenty of opportunities. I made friends, traveled to Spain, and learned more about myself as a person. All of this in combined with spending adequate time with friends and family really got me remotivated to get back into what I love to do, game design and modding.

While I started this endeavor almost two years ago Most of my work was done in the first year and not much progress has been made on the neverending list of ideas I wish to develop/am developing/have developed but not released. 

I suppose I’ll talk about a bit of my work since that’s what is going to be the main focus going forward

Stardew Valley Mods:

This is the bread and butter for this blog for the time being, the main thing I’ve done and what I plan to mainly work on for some time. I’ve already released a slew of mods on nexus under the name of Omegasis with the help of Pathoschild in teaching me new things and maintaining my mods in the large year of absence. I’ve done great things like Happy Birthday, Stardew Symphony, and Auto Speed just to name a few. However this could be greatly improved upon. Here’s some of the upcoming ideas that I probably want to work on in this order.

Note* Some of these names are subject to change.

0. Stardust Core: Status: WIP

     This is the main core mod I’ve been working on for about the last year now. It’s gone through many different iterations, but the main focus is to provide a modding core for a bunch of shared functions and things I want all of my future dependent mods to work off of. This includes a generic template object that all my modded objects will inherit from, a serialization system for saving a loading all of these custom objects, and the Illumination Framework, which I’ve decided to integrate as opposed to having it be its own stand alone mod since I can use a lot of the code in the core. Also one notable feature is an animation manager where users can add in animations to their custom objects and have them run at specific triggers when combined with a code based mod. This could allow for things like fountains, spinning tops, and more! 

0.1 Illuminate/Chromatica Framework: Status: WIP Planned: Summer 2018

    This is already a really basic implementation of lots of colors that I’ve added into code to basically just make things look well...colorful! It’s in a very basic alpha stage and doesn’t do too much since it really only includes the Chromatica side of things, but in the future I hope to be able to add a lot more customizable light sources with different light shapes, interpolation, and configurations to be able to have lots of controls to add multiple light sources to an object. An example would be having multiple light sources on something like a christmas tree or a lamp that gives off multiple colors!

This crystal for example would be colored differently and give off a colored light. Stuff like that mostly.

1. Additional Crops Framework: Status: WIP Planned Winter/Spring 2018

     This is one that I’m currently developing right now. I recently learned that a similar mod called JsonAssets exists that covers some of the same features but what this one does differently is

     1.Allows the user to purchase planter boxes that can be placed down. More of these can be added in by modders for different aesthetic designs. These planter boxes will be used to plant crops anywhere in the world and allow for more features such as greenhouse effects where crops don’t die and self-watering planter boxes. No more having to have crops planted just on your farm!

      2. More kinds of fertilizer that can speed up crop growth and increase quality. This will basically expand upon the fertilizer that is already included in the vanilla base game.

Also shoutout to Spacechase0 for JsonAssets. Definitely a big fan of the work and very impressive.

1.1. Rune Factory Crops Mod: Status: WIP :  Planned Winter/Spring 2018

        This mod is being co-developed alongside Additional Crops Framework as a way to make sure it has a good set of features so that mod authors can make their own mods based off of the Additional Crops Framework. All it would take is a super simple 5 lines of code or so in a code based mod to simply tell the framework where to find the new assets. Of course I would include a tutorial of how to do so full of documentation, but the point is to make a crops mod with lots of new features and customization without having users struggle with the code side of it.

Here is some examples for my art so far, I’m a programmer so programmer art is more of my style but some of this doesn’t look to bad.

     Sorry about the size. I’ll have to find a better way to include images without destroying the quality. Also yes, the turnip crop is just a recolored parsnip right now. I’ve made custom art for the object, but there is still quite a bit more work to be done on this one in terms of art.

2.Stardew Symphony Reboot/Stardew Music Displayer: Planned for Winter/Spring 2018

     One of my personal favorites that I wrote a long time ago with not much programming experience behind me. While the mod works, it’s not terribly user friendly and the tutorials that I made for it well.... frankly put need lots of work. I wasn’t very confident streaming back then and my old house echoed terribly so my voice just doesn’t sound very great on these videos. Also what does one typically say during these things anyways? Well the point is that this mod is going to get a user-friendly upgrade. While a sister mod for it exists which is the simple sound manager and allows for simple mod sound effects for modders to use, Stardew Symphony is aimed at the general populace with no coding experience. 

     Some of my plans for it include:

     1.Making an interface to listen to music included in music packs. That way users can determine what music they do and don’t like. This will probably take form of a music box that you can purchase from Robin to keep keyboard keys clean from a million menus. This menu would also be able to customize what music would play when in terms of location and season instead of having to fudge around with text files.

     2.The Music Displayer portion is a part I already integrated that automatically parses the names of songs from the music files included in a music file. Using some nice hex parsing techniques this allows exposing all the sound files associated with any one given music pack without mod authors having to include a file saying which songs are included.

     3. Finally some better tutorials on the process from how to install the mod, to making music packs, to working the interface. This one is huge since it’s almost stupid that the ability to add custom music to Stardew has existed for so long and I just haven’t made some good tutorials for this yet. So this time it’s happening.

3.Additional Fruit Trees Framework: Status: Planned for Spring 2018

     This is the same as Modular Crops Framework and very well might be integrated into Additional Crops Framework at a later date. This essentially does what you think it does. Adds in different types of trees that will be able to produce different things for the farmer such as more fruit or different kinds of trees that maybe produce modded items. That would be fun!

4. Unnamed Cooking Mod Framework/Overhaul: Status:Planned

     Because what’s the point of having more crops if you can’t cook with them? This essentially will make cooked dishes have different/better effects or at least have a more reasonable logic when it comes to healing stamina and health.This mod would also add in the ability for new cooking recipes that can be learned in different ways. How this would all work is still undetermined. Maybe the same or maybe you research them? Also maybe include a cooking skill??? Who knows.

5. Unnamed Alchemy/Magic mod/Framework: Status Planned for Summer 2018

      This is a big one. It’s to hopefully expand on the fact that there is magic in the world of stardew but finally add on things like spell books, potion brewing, and other small magical machines and artifacts that would be able to add a bit of variety to Stardew. I’ve already prototyped a bag of holding which can be expanded with upgrades, some crystals that do different things like healing or cause it to rain, etc. Like I said, there is a lot that will be done with this one, and is going to be the big content adder.

6. Additional Animals Framework: Status: Planned for later 2018.

     This mod essentially will expand on the potential to have different types of animals that can live on your farm. Of course content mods will be made off of this and I already have an idea of one. It’ll sadly be awhile before I get to this one since I know the other mods will take me a ton of time to get around to completing, but I’m determined to add this one in too.

7.Modular Furniture Framework: Status: Planned: ????

     This is a HUGE mod that I’ve been trying to properly tackle since my early days of Stardew modding and I think I finally found a working solution to how to go about this one, but understand the amount of time it will take is going to be a task within itself. This will finally allow modders to add in custom furniture and place it anywhere. This will also allow ways to include more interactable types of furniture as well that could allow for some fun potential. 

8.Unnamed paint mod:Status: Hiatused

     This is a mod I made back in the spring and it technically works but needs some more tweaking. It essentially allows you to paint on a canvas object with different colors and place that painted tile anywhere in the world. This is pretty much the same way Animal Crossing does it with their designs from the Able Sisters. While I could probably get this mod up and running pretty quick it’s a bit lower on the priority list right now.

9. Additional Buildings Framework: Status Hiatised/Planned to resume LATE 2018

This is a mod that I’ve already made a variant through XNB content modding, but I need to update it to be more compatible to SMAPI since this mod was made on a patched version of Stardew Valley I made as an experiment in the early days of modding. This would allow for different buildings to be placed on the farm such as a bathhouse, warp hubs like subways to go to new custom maps, different aesthetic barns/coops etc. I want to get back to this one but it’ll take a ton of time before I can get here.

Anyways that’s what I have PLANNED for 2018 but the scope of some of these might even flow over into 2019 depending on a ton of factors such as multiplayer, code complexity, and the amount of art I would need to do. Not to mention I have a life where I go to school, am social with friends and family, and like to do other hobbies to. If I can complete even half this list though that would be amazing!

Now this is a story I’ve worked on a long time ago for a game I was making in good ol’ RPG maker VX Ace and while I might not get around to making the game anytime soon, I really want to get back around to writing this story.

Game/Code Streaming:

Since I already play games in my free time and I spend so much time coding  figured I might as well try my hand at streaming again. It could be a fun way to pass time and maybe bounce around ideas from streamers about things I could do with my mods. We shall see where this all goes.

And that’s the very first and VERY long update.

I’ll try to see if I can stick to a bi-monthly update schedule where I’ll update every two weeks or so with my progress that I’ve been making and hopefully next time I’ll have more graphics to show on the specific mod I’m working on.
