first kiss - you run into eddie one night he's behind the bar at the Hideout and end up talking about your first kiss ever. Eddie offers a do-over.

ghost!eddie - joint venture with littlexdeaths and andvys that has lost steam, but has never left the back of my mind.

bath - ramble-fic about eddie learning to love baths (with and without you).

frenemies part ii - the morning after your edible confession followed by karaoke night with Robin and Steve hosting.

shelter from the storm pt ii - blowing eddie on your porch in the middle of the storm. (possible steddie if steve shows up trying to take refuge under eddie's roof?)

jealousy - pissing off steve when you smoke up with some guy in the boathouse at a reefer rick party.

coffee - exes to ??? with eddie, songfic based on "coffee" by chappell roan

with the band - harrington!reader secretly joins corroded coffin after eddie hears them singing in the shower.

camp steve - king steve is banished for the summer and finds himself working at the camp you've spent every summer at since you were a kid. him taking your virginity results in you and he having a secret relationship at school in the fall.

gator ii - follow up to cold dry stone where you're on a date that is interrupted by law enforcement. who would have thought?

friends with romance - modern!neighbor!eddie comes up with an arrangement with you where he provides some much needed romance, similar to FWB, except you don't engage physically.

beach - you meet eddie when he tags along on a beach trip with you and one of your friends.

been trying to figure out what to do with this 50x40 lot in Nordhaven and now it's a freaking ship museum WOO

Ok so a friend asked about my acrylic process - and I thought it might be fun to kinda document this little painting here! Just as a disclaimer, my acrylic process is extremely chaotic and I have no idea what I'm doing, I just throw paint on there until it looks good.

So I hope I won't forget about taking photos down the line, first batch of photos and babbling under the cut!

So let's start with what I'm using, just bc I'm always interested in seeing what others use:

Some cheap (kinda beat up at this point) small brushes, very cheap shitty white (I like to use it to thin my paints a bit without lighting them too much), liquitex heavy body acrylics in quin red, quin magenta and cad yellow medium (only these three bc it's a three colour challenge thing) and threw in some white golden soflat to have a more opaque white (purely bc it was already sitting on my desk from something else and I'm too lazy to get up and grab a different tube)

And this is what we're working on:

Some sort of water lily dragon, which already has a coat of very watered down yellow on it. I do that for multiple reasons: for one I just like how it looks and it feels less intimidating than white paper lol. But it also helps to hide the coloured lines from the initial sketch and I feel it's easier to judge values when starting with a non-white background

I sketched this a couple of weeks ago at this point, and had kind of forgotten what my plan for colouring was. Whoops. So I mixed up some of the yellow and magenta and started blocking in some background shapes -

But wait!

That's when I remembered that I wanted the background to be light, like the light is coming from back there, behind vines and leaves and stuff. So I started building up lighter colours with more yellow and my shitty white

But I wasn't really getting anywhere, so I grabbed my other white and put down some really light areas. That's better - now I can start blocking in the general colours and shapes for the plants and water

These are all different mixes of magenta, yellow and the shitty white, with one of the frayed flat brushes. I'll add details and definition later

But this felt really dark now, so I decided I had to roughly block in all the other colours too to check if it was really that dark or just looked like it next to the bright yellow

That dark colour is a very pink magenta btw, not a dark red, my phone just hates that colour. The dragon is just red + shitty white for now and wow, you can really see how transparent that white is. I'll definitely have to use more of the good white for this if I don't want to lose my mind

And that's where we're at rn! I took a break to let everything dry properly while typing this up, so it should be ready to go now - I'll report back later :D

Been writing Asajj fics over the last few days and I have like so many feelings about it The way she's devoted to Dooku, the way she's always the last survivor, the way she never gives up, never dies is soooo There's smth very interesting about her self-image the way I view it, from Ky's hopeful Jedi Padawan (Asajj) to the person that slaughters his murderers to a servant of Dooku, his apprentice and a Sith assassin (Ventress) to the Nightsister to the bounty hunter to whatever the fuck Dark Disciple was to my thoughts about her (Asajj) I'm currently insane about shit I made up (Jedi AU, the Lattz Razzi/Asajj fic I'm currently writing, the wip of a painful walkthrough of her relation to Ky and the force) and it's inhabiting my brain in such a way I need a totj ep for asajj so bad

dropping some DE sketches 🥀🥀 i draw so little now, bc i managed to found the opportunity to play DE (before that, i watched the walkthrough from start to finish). i've been playing for almost a week, probably, and each time these game sessions are 6 hours long or even more... ......

kids wip 😈😈😈 i adore them, what a little gremlins... we will adopt them, they'll be fine.

idk what those lines sound like in the original (i'm not playing in english), so i'll just say that harry says that cunoesse is weird and asks what's wrong with her, and cunoesse yells at what they're, f*****s, whispering about. i loooove the way their faces turned out! i want to color it later

harrykim... husbands........ just started this one today, i'd like to practice drawing kisses and etc, so i sketch from pinterest photos with small changes

church dances. kim is not happy yet, but these will be sketches about dancing with a good outcome - don't worry! i really want to draw a full color about harrykim dancing... perhaps i start when i reach this moment myself (very soon)

this will be a sketch about the meeting of jean and harry 🥀🥀

morning wips! i wanna get involved with the communities rollout! i've submitted a couple of them for review already. however, even for someone like me that is v ready for it, it's hard to engage with communities as a concept because it's not clear what they'll be, not possible to browse existing ones, and there's no info about how they might look or feel like to use. could we have a list of communities that are already happening (even if we can't access them yet), a walkthrough of how communities look or some other descriptive resource? the current info about communities isn't telling very much. these suggestions are made with positive enthusiasm - i WANT to get hype - but it feels v much like we're fumbling in the dark/contributing to something that we don't get to see atm and i think some clarity would help. kis kis kis !!

Thank you for these. All great, fair questions!

And we are happy to answer them. Admittedly, we are fumbling in the dark a little, you might say—that is why it’s still an experiment. We have our own ideas for how Communities could work, but really, we want to build it based on what people actually do with it. This is why the current functionality is fairly simple and limited. We’ve wanted to see what feedback we get and to understand what people ask for and expect—rather than spending a long time building something that may be unappealing to the people we hope will use it (we’ve made that mistake many times in the past!) You can see a little bit of that dialogue in the Feedback community.

To your point about seeing communities—right now, we’re working on ways of integrating public communities into existing feeds, search, tagged pages, etc., so that they can be discovered by people who aren’t in any yet (which is most people on Tumblr!) We hope that by seeing other people use it, you’ll get a better explanation than anything we could try to provide—because every community is doing things in their own interestingly unique way right now. We don’t want to be prescriptive about how they should be used.

By the way, the same is true with how blogs work on Tumblr—we don’t tell you how to blog. Instead, we hope you try to figure out your own way of blogging by seeing how others behave on the platform.

We hope that helps address at least some of your queries. We would also advise that you have a little look at this handy Help Center explainer into Communities. Above all, we hope y’all like it.

“Steve, seriously?!”

Everyone else’s heads turned, whirling around onthe host of your gathering who was still holding up the same number of fingers and looking none too pleased about being called out for it.

The tips of his ears burned bright pink, standing out against the chestnut locks of hair that curled around them in messy disarray as he looked down at his lap. You slapped a hand over your mouth trying (and failing) to stop your own laughter.

“Sorry, sorry—I didn’t mean to…” you giggled, swaying in your toasted state. “I just meant, you have that beautiful pool and you’ve never—”

“Why’s that weird?” Steve snapped, his harsh glare turning on you. “Just because I have a pool, I automatically have to float around in it with my junk hanging out?”

You shook your head and rolled your eyes, hardly phased by his outburst. For someone who’d been so eager to play at the start, the sour look he was sporting indicated the game wasn’t going quite the way he must have envisioned.

It seemed the former king of Hawkins High wasn’t quite as experienced as his reputation might have lead one to believe. He was practically a prude.

Really, things had been going downhill ever since Argyle’s turn when he admitted never had he ever ‘wined, dined and 69-ed’ and Steve had to watch Nancy and Jonathan both drink while his own beer remained untouched in front of him.

Even Barb had lost more fingers than Steve.

Only one, but still.

“It’s not weird, it’s surprising is all,” you amended, a pacifying tone only making his hazel eyes flash with more indignation as he licked his lips and parted them to argue back.

“We used to do it all the time,” Heather suddenly chimed in from her spot in the circle.

“All the time?” Steve scoffed in disbelief, his head whipping in her direction. “Really?”

“Fucking Billy always scheduled us to close down the pool,” Chrissy explained with a grimace. Her pillowy pink lips curved into a wily smile, seaglass eyes twinkling with mischief as she raised her cup again. “So we tried to make the most of it.”

The group erupted in a mix of woos and chuckles as Chrissy and Heather bent their heads together, strawberry blonde waves brushing against tight, brunette coils as their noses nuzzled.

Steve’s eyes almost rolled to the ceiling. “Okay, but you guys work at the pool—”

“And you have one in your backyard!”

Eddie jumped in next, his voice booming and beer sloshing as he gestured wildly. The grin on his face made you smile, but the look on Steve’s had your chest twinging with regret. You hadn’t meant for everyone to start dogpiling on him.

“Yeah, but—”

“Forget about it! Nobody cares!” you groaned. “Just go already, it’s your turn.”

Steve’s eyes rolled again and he huffed slightly, but abandoned his attempt to defend himself.

“Fine,” he said, zeroing in on your lone finger.

You cringed inwardly at how vulnerable the last round had left you, but remained cavalier as ever on the outside, shooting him back a challenging smirk. Steve’s eyes narrowed as he thought and then lit up as a shockingly evil smile spread across his annoyingly handsome face.

“Never have I ever…kissed someone over ten years older than me.”

“Oh, fuck you.”

I don't keep my WIPs in a folder exactly, but here's what I'm currently working on:

Datasouls InFinite: Fake walkthrough for a game that doesn't exist, featuring bickering between the guide writer and the curmudgeonly speedrunner annotating her guide to tell the player how to get the secret ending.

Justice/Arcana: Sequel to Star Seeker in: the Secret of the Sorcerous Standoff, digging more into what the deal is with illegal magic and demons and stuff.

Medallion Works: Content authoring engine for Fire Emblem-style SRPGs, being used to make...

Thrall: An FE-style strategy RPG perhaps more aptly-titled "Izuka Simulator", where you play an outrageously evil hag trying to take over the world by sorta-mind-controlling your foes to conscript them into your army.

Typhoon Family: Transformation smut game where you play an unethical geneticist caught in a time loop and trying to prevent the alien invasion of Earth.

Two-Faced Jewel: Novel adaptation of a defunct fantasy TTRPG campaign, starring a fancy dancer who lies all the time.

TFTBNVN: Not my WIP, exactly- I'm doing a bunch of programming and stuff for the VN adaptation of Lurina's webnovel.

World of Mafia G2: A 15-player game of Mafia with a shitton of extra rules and mechanics, featuring an evil corporation's secret underground magic R&D death facility.

This is too many things to be working on at once! Probably not a lot of these are getting done for a good long time! Oh well!

Happy STS! What are some of the inspirations behind your wip? Where did you get the initial idea and what influences molded your development process?

Bad End was inspired by the Bad End Friends here on Tumblr.

For those who don't know, it's a crossover art thing, usually between Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and Over the Garden Wall, based on the idea where Farm Finn gets controlled by the crown permanently, Dipper gets possessed by Bill, and Wirt has to stay on the other side forever. Some people add more people in, like Mabel or Morty or Darcy.

I was also a huge fan of Gravity Falls, my mom was a big fan of turning on the Twilight movies for background noise, and it gave me the desire to write about weird little towns. Plus, I am a big fan of mythology and folklore, which included ghost stories, and I like watching walkthroughs of horror games.

Can I ask if Royal Favor is a necessary purchase to enjoy Royal Affairs? Or is it just a fun extra thing for the game? (Also, an aside, but as someone accustomed to British spelling, spelling favour sans u is so bizarre!)

No it's not necessary - it's just an added extra for people who want to change their stats, get achievement walkthroughs, have some hints, or read some author notes. It doesn't gate off any of the game itself.

Thank you for the ask! And yes as a British person, writing in US English for my CoG games can be strange - "judgement" vs "judgment" is one I can never get my head round, and obviously my new WIP Honor Bound has it front and centre... (or should I say front and center...?)

This was really interesting to go through as I really try to avoid anything related to stats - but also fun to revisit some posts/fics I’d forgotten about!

This year was such a transformative year in many different ways, that I’m still trying to process with 2024 quickly approaching. I’m looking forward to seeing what the New Year brings. But I hope it brings me more of the same I’ve experienced here - community building and some wonderful people that I get to call friends 💕

When I first came back to fanfiction I was so confused by the reader insert format. The last time I wrote fanfic, it was canon characters or OC’s - which is what both Gold Rush and Chiffon (my first) are written in. So in order to try out the format I started with Marcus and what is now the Sweet Jane series. I have plans for those two, I have how they met mapped out in my head, that I hope to explore soon!

8. 175 notes - Aug 4 2023 - Strings (Joel)

This was another nerve wracking foray - reader insert Joel and because it was a challenge to write Joel with someone other than my OC. It started as a one-shot, that then was three parts, then four and finally finished at five. It’s also the only series I’ve managed to complete 😆. I’m so proud of this one, it has a special place in my heart - this is the ending Joel deserves, living on a little farmhouse being taken care of and a reluctant chicken dad.

9. 167 notes - Aug 14 2023 - A Sunday Night Ramble (text post)

This was a late night epiphany - where I realised that I was trying to force writing and make my two OG series’ fit into more palatable moulds for others consumption rather than writing the story I wanted. It’s also a good reminder that it’s okay to take a break from something that isn’t currently serving you. If you come back to it two day later, two weeks later or never - it’s okay. You’re not beholden to anyone. This is all supposed to be fun first and foremost, if you’re not having fun then it may be time to step back and re-evaluate.

I still get sad when I think about this piece. Like real sad. I don’t know if I could write something like this again now - or ever. I was well and truly in my feels with this one. I made the decision to watch a walkthrough of all the cut scenes of TLOU2 and it broke me. I knew what was coming, but knowing and watching were two different things. I do like that I left this one open to interpretation - meaning I can revisit one day if I want, so who knows.
