I think you already know that your writing and works occupy my brain too much but I thought I'd drop by and say just how perfect your zombie!ghost fic is like. whenever I see zombie!ghost art it makes me fondly think of your fic and go "husband" at the same time and also?? the fact that the fic just satisfies every itch I have for zombie!ghost to the point that I don't even need to look for more?? I remember the second chapter wasn’t initially supposed to be there, was suppose to remain an open ending. But the more I thought about it the more eager I became to give them a happy ending, just having to get that second chapter out there asap lol

🤔💥 Can Gallifreyan bones break?

Despite their advanced physiology, Gallifreyans aren't immune to bone fractures. However, it takes extraordinary force to break these bad boys.

Fortified Skeleton: With enhanced spongy bone, dense cartilage, and thick cortical bone, Gallifreyan bones can withstand extreme impacts. For a Gallifreyan at the peak of physical health, it would take something like the weight of 21 bags of cement or an immobile giraffe to cause a fracture.

Types of Fractures: When fractures do occur, they're often severe due to the significant force required. Greenstick fractures are common in minor cases, but more intense trauma can lead to spiral, comminuted, or oblique fractures. Linear or transverse fractures are rarer and usually caused by very specific trauma.

Pain and Complications: Despite their toughness, fractures in Gallifreyans can be intensely painful and dangerous. Increased nerve density means a fracture can be extremely painful, and damage to the medullary canal could cause severe internal bleeding.

Healing Process: Minor fractures can heal independently with little intervention, but severe cases might need more attention. Their rapid healing can be a drawback, though, requiring quick medical responses to prevent misalignment.

So, while Gallifreyans have bones that make you go 'ooo!', they're not indestructible. When they do break, it's actually pretty serious. Don't be letting your Gallifreyan fob you off with the old, 'it's fine, I'm biologically superior to you' routine cos hun, you need to get that checked out.

Little Lambs

(WIP) Summary:

Jenny Garcia landed her first big role in the film industry… as a production assistant for a children's TV show. She figured that beggars shouldn't be choosers. It was her first job in the industry since graduating, and it will look very nice on her resume. Even if she has bigger plans for her career, this wasn't a bad opportunity. The team was even uncharacteristically sweet. Especially the lead actor, David Lee. Tiny, peculiar things started to happen around set, alarming little warning bells in her head. The mysteries of the show and the cast will slowly unfurl before her eyes. By then, it will be too late.

The main characters and setting

We follow Jenny, a freshly graduated film student, as she transverses her young adult life through LA's film industry in the late 90s.

We're met with David, the lead actor for a big, upcoming children's show called Lily's Stories. He has a boyish charm to him that enraptures anyone he talks to. He's sweet, albeit a bit naive -- and it totally makes Jenny crush on him. Hard.

Without the key character for Lily's Stories, the show would definitely fall flat. Lily is an animated lamb who explores the stories that David reads to her. She is animated over the live action sets, often in tandem with David. She is wary and scared, but with the help of David, she overcomes her fears through every story driven episode.

Frank Kozak is the lead animator for the show, giving life to Lily's movements. He is often very cynical and down to earth. But Jenny finds it endearing, as he has a serious approach when it comes to helping people. If he cares, he will say everything as brutally honest as possible.

Filming of the live action sets and characters is possible with the help of the cameraman Rohit Patel. He's a gentle giant who always thinks about the well being of his coworkers. He's kind, caring, and self-sacrificing for his job. There's nothing he loves more then getting the best shot. He and Jenny naturally get along as he helps her navigate this new work environment.

The show wouldn't be possible without the director, Robert Mason. He is an eccentric, family loving Christian. He believes that the children are the future, and thus deserve all the love in the world. His method of contributing to society is by directing these stories for the scared little kids.

Outside of work, Jenny lives in a shabby apartment with her flatmate and sorority sister, Serenity Jones. If Jenny is the balloon, Serenity is the rock that anchors her in place. Serenity is practical and quick witted. She often works night shifts at the dodgy bar a few suburbs over. She and Jenny are often a team. It's them against the world.

Come join as we explore this fun, whimsical story of love, self-discovery, and ultimate betrayal. It's all for the children, after all.

One glance at his star-splattered blue eyes and we'd aim to recover what’s lost from others; even if that meant losing ourselves along the line. Yet, that was the mere start—the mere start of how he roped me into another one of his schemes.

Afternoon sun slits through the window blinds into our apartment, an iridescent glow painting across the living room. Half-eaten plates of yakitori rest on the tabletop–a cold reminder that it has been nearly three days since we were absent from the present.

"Ready to take a risk, Astin?" Harper asks, a smirk playing at the cusp of his lips while his hand extends in my direction. I look up hesitantly, avoiding eye contact as much as possible or we'd fall back into a loop of the past.

1 - Side characters: I'm completely fine with that! As long as, like you already said yourself, they make sense to be added, I'm good with anyone. I'm also fine with original characters, if you really need them.

2 - Songs I associate with my ships: I can only remember Silrah, Ben/Luna and Ben/Rose, so forgive me if I forgot any.

For Ben/Rose: There's this one heart wrenching song, the inspiration for a scene that has been haunting me for over a year by now (it's for a way later chapter of a wip of mine). The only spoiler I will give is that it immediately made me think of the morning after Ben receives some devastating news: Wide Awake and Dreaming (stripped duet) - OSKA, Stu Larsen.

For Ben/Luna: I hadn't thought about songs for them yet! Doing a quick scan through some of my playlists, maybe: Heal - Tom Odell ?

For Silrah: Oh my goodness this was HARD! I have a Silrah playlist with currently 160+ songs I had to filter through for this (as you said, too many, lol). There’s a few different themes in there, mainly around different periods in Saul’s and Farah’s lives, but also plenty that are linked to certain stories in my mind/wip folder (so those are rather specific). I’ve tried to keep it to three of my current favorites, in no particular order:

Who We Are - Hozier. I suppose it’s actually a breakup song, but a lot of the lyrics just feel very fitting for them post Aster Dell. So much of our life is just carving through the dark, or You and I burned out our steam, chasing someone else's dream. Perfect.

Oblivion - Bastille. Saul's worries towards Farah. Makes me think of that scene with the two of them in Farah's office, when he asks her if she got hurt by the burned one. In the context of S1, pre-episode 6 Silrah, these two lines in particular seem very foreboding: Are you going to age with grace? Are you going to leave a path to trace?. Ahh, my heart.

Hurricane - Tommee Profitt, Fleurie. Could be them during any time period, really. But probably works best right after Aster Dell.

Angst, pining, pain, what else could make me think of these two idiots? I promise, there’s sweeter/nicer ones on there too. I think.

Bonus crack: Saul is a contra-bass. Farah is an alt-violin. Ben is a bagpipe. Rose is a transverse flute. Luna is a triangle. Make of that what you will😏.

3 - Mulled Wine: I realise I said mulled wine previously when I meant glühwein, my bad! Is mulled wine the same as glühwein, or different? I’ve only ever had glühwein, and I genuinely don’t know any other spice combination than sticks of cinnamon, whole star-anise, and cloves. Now I’m wondering what other things I could throw in there👀.

Rules: Writers often have to research some pretty out-there stuff for our wips. What are some weird, unusual, or oddly specific things you’ve had to learn about or look into?

-- Turkish Reflex bows (construction materials, draw weights, differences from recurves, use in combat, how they're drawn (using the thumb instead of the forefingers) and also dips into variants from other cultures like iirc Mongolian archery) (Related fun fact: I've tried out archery a few times just to get an idea for how it feels!!) -- A Lot of weird animals for creature/fantasy race designs (Gharials, cowtail stingrays, phantom jellyfish, oarfish, orchid mantises, bronze parotia birds of paradise, gyr cattle, etc. etc. etc.) -- Legal terms for things like "this dude is standing in for someone who isn't here" and "knowing about a first degree murder before the fact and not stopping it" (pro tempore and accessory to [crime], respectively) which prompted deep dives into niche lawyer things of which only like 2% stuck in my brain -- Sign language!! And Language-Assisted Signs, because those are different a lot of the time and I wanted to know How and Why to portray Ash and Ice respectfully (Another related fun fact: half of my ASL research has been for use outside of writing, too, because I have Deaf family members. Also, I learned the ASL alphabet when I was 9 and that's come in clutch.) -- Speed of travel for different types of age-of-sail ships, and how to calculate that for a fantasy world where the routes are up to you and not currents of wind and water alike -- Altitude sickness/the Bends -- Ocular autohemmorrhaging (aka squirting blood out your eyes as a defense mechanism. lizards do this a lot) (this was for dragons) -- Differences in symptom presentation between Multiple Sclerosis and Transverse Myelitis (I determined that Lorelei has Multiple Sclerosis) -- Necrosis (Don't look this one up if you have a weak stomach) -- How bog bodies happen and work -- Rabies -- Different forms of paddle boats historically used for swampy navigation -- Traditional Chinese junk rigging, and how it was used in Sampan ships -- Gyroscopes and how they work/what they do/specifically the one in the plane that flew a telescope and had to keep it steady but the name of which ive forgotten -- Many Illegal Kinds Of Knives (did you know certain kinds of switchblades are illegal almost everywhere?? i didn't until semi recently. theyre some of the sexy ones too </3) -- How wing shape affects flight ability in birds -- How owl wings, specifically, are so Quiet (its the feather construction. i still dont quite get it but im tryin) -- Afrofuturistic architecture/the Afrofuturism movement as a whole -- Dancing swords/sabers with a specific focus on their grips and lack of hand guards, and the forms people used when fighting with them -- An Unreasonable amount of sewing techniques which I am now trying to make excuses for annie to reference. -- Fresco painting techniques (ended up not relevant) -- Marble sculpting techniques -- And of course a ton of research into PTSD, traumatic memory loss, OCD, the Autism + ADHD spectra (so i dont just copy-paste myself on everyone), Schizophrenia, etc. etc. for better/kinder portrayals

That is. By Far not an exhaustive list but yeah <3 i enjoy research and talking about the weird shit i learn solely through the hodgepodge of information axes i follow on the regular

Lettucestanets - Those are just two sphirical things with no ribbons and no golden bows.
