That's for another post. I have quite a few treats to share for this anniversary!#Rather...I've been thinking about my own relationships and the bonds I've forged and broken.#The transition between environments...when you leave somewhere and hear about how all the people you were once close with-#-have been moving on without you? It's so bittersweet.#You want to be happy for them. You wish you were at their side. You cannot be at their side.#Relationships change like the tides. They ebb and flow. Sometimes they crash so hard into the shore it reshapes it entirely.#The truth is that we are more surrounded by love than we realize. Even when we feel utterly alone - there is someone who wants to help.#And to me this scene strikes a chord in that way.#This is the reminder than even though you feel like it is all burning down around you - you are loved.#There are people who miss you. People who are so thankful for your presence in their life.#And most importantly of all. And I say this from the heart: There are people you have yet to meet.#Remember this in the darkest of days: The future is full of loves you have yet to see. The present is also full of love you forgot to see.#Another reminder to go tell someone you care about how much they mean to you today. It matters.

you know, sometimes I forget that Twst is actually an isekai that starts with the protagonist getting run over by an inexplicable horse-drawn carriage. and every time I'm reminded is a delight because that's AMAZING.
also. look. okay. there's a lot of very fun stuff in the trailer but I am obsessed with that Crowley surprised pikachu face. me when I spend all my keys and gems literally hours before they announce overblot SSRs and drop the anime trailer:
#twisted wonderland#twst anime#<- gonna use that for anime stuff in case anyone wishes to filter it#this is the point where i once again have to admit that i have not really read the manga#(i've liked what i've seen but it's very hard for me to keep up with stuff a lot of the time)#(the anime may actually be easier for me to absorb it in :')#god i GOTTA draw the manga yuus#i kept meaning to when yuuna got revealed but i didn't get around to it before 7-13 ate my brain 😭#anyway the bits they chose for the trailer are pretty interesting to me!#like i think chances are good it was mostly from that one sequence because given the timeline#they probably don't have a ton of 100% finished post-comp footage yet so they probably just took what they have#but also i'm thinking back to how deliberately vague all the game promo stuff was#and...okay again i don't really know how they did it in the manga but i am reminded of how overblotting was actually like. a twist.#a twst twist#like we were introduced to it in the prologue with the mine phantom#but riddle's overblot was an actual SURPRISE and like. an instant reveal that okay THIS is what the story's gonna be about#so i'm just kinda wondering if the anime promos might also like...actively try not to spoil everything#or if they're gonna go full anime-intro 'here's all the super spoilery scenes you can expect to see :)'#basically is the marketing gonna skew towards new viewers or established fans. both valid i'm just curious!#also excuse me for a moment as i reveal myself as a hugely pretentious snob but#oh my god the backgrounds actually have some texture and shape and are taking style cues from the game backgrounds#oh my god the castle exterior actually looks illustrative and fantastic and isn't just a 3d model they plopped in#it's hard to tell at this point how consistent that'll be since most of the trailer is in the mirror chamber#but i'm just SO happy to see it! hopefully this means they weren't crunched to fuck and are able to really go ham#(the pre-isekai scenes all look more generic modern anime so like...is that a conscious artistic choice they made)#(because that would be incredible. holy shit.)

TBH I've always been seen as weird or something for being so fast. Even past professors/art teachers were like: "How are you doing this???" Meanwhile this was before AI lol so they really had no idea. esp as i don't even know how that new fangled skynet tech works.
I'm just out here, painting things the old fashioned-digital way (which is a possible oxymoron but whatev). I use, in clip studio paint, the g-pen, airbrush, and opaque water color brush mostly. Still, ask any who've commissioned me :D this speed is normal. I'm weird. and i'm fast. so here's some pierrot cause we all love him!~

What a little legend.#The crowd comments about LWJ being 'daddy' and WWX being 'the mother' are a little too 'fan-service bait' for me.#So I am personally reimagining it as another layer of 'misinterpretation of a more complex situation' commentary.#I like how the different styles of interacting with children WWX an LWJ exhibit say so much about their own childhoods.#We - human beings in the real world - take two lessons from how we were parented: What we valued and what we wish we had.#LWJ leaning into indulgence is him pushing back against his own childhood of asceticism. It's something he didn't have - so he gives it.#WWX on the other hand has been *so* defined by his drive to indulge. And here he is the restrictor!#It takes a bit more to see what's going on here. The factors are not singular.#but to keep it in theme with LWJ; I'd propose it is partly his way of establishing structure when he did not have it as a child.#Both approches are a way of saying 'I didn't have this and I wish I did.'#With LWJ it's pretty obvious why...but WWX? What is at your core? What is your regret towards a lack of restriction?#Or...What benefit do you think it gives this child to learn the harsh lessons of going without?#Did it make you strong when you were a child? Do you think it is just the nature of the world and we all must learn it?#How we interact with children is such a fascinating topic to delve into our psychology and neuroses.#In a more light hearted turn of topic:#WWX confirmed to be 'person taking the car to the drive through to order one black coffee for himself' on the triangle spectrum.#LWJ is saying 'we have food at home' as he is opening his wallet ready to order for everyone.#(Technically this is comic 213 but yippee! about illario working with the venatori, we can't forget that elgar'nan gifted him blood magic, so I do think that he somewhat influenced him and that's why he's so much more vindictive and jealous in comparison to tevinter nights. I don't mean that he's being mind controlled, but it's a bit like cyrian, a god just amplifying those negative emotions in you and promising power and glory can push a person to that edge and to make stupid af decisions.
im also not forgetting that zara line in inner demons where she talks about an envy demon. like. why an envy demon in specific...there's THINGS between zara and illario that were not shown
no literally if you get me talking about illario + envy + the possibility of getting him possessed, you will have me here for fucking ever. a non mage doing blood magic (any magic at all) is really weird and interesting to me and i don’t remember an example of this happening before (feel free to correct me tho lol. i’m discounting possessions and dwarves)
i had started wildly theorising after bloodbath that he had been possessed and he was tapping into the fade using an envy demon. especially like you said, zara mentions it, AND because i swear there’s a codex in the ossuary where it mentions an envy demon whereas spite is obviously determination, right? so i thought it was a breadcrumb trail to a big “illario is being influenced and doesn’t even know” reveal— same as you anon like great minds am i right— but i’m not sure there is actually any evidence of that lol. like maybe if you squint but i do believe it was explained away by “oh yeah, and elgarnan let him do special blood magic”
it does also make sense to me that illario can only control lucanis, due to being part of the same family. a bloodline thing, and it is very poetic to me that their shared family connection in caterina is what allows him to control lucanis, even for a moment lol. spite being the extra magical boost that lucanis needs to block that out ALSO makes sense to me so i’m not too fussed abt these details lol🤔
the envyllario in my heart also gets spectral weapons for himself. lucanis gets wings, illario gets talons, PLUS green-purple are complementary colors so it would have been really fun to see them clash with their spirit/demon-powers. the talon thing is also a kind of reflection of his end-goal desire, how envy demons already have those freaky hands, and it manifests as claws and is a much more aggressive, strength-augmenting manifestation (as opposed to manoeuvrability and speed-augmenting that spite’s wings give lucanis.) anyways that's what the diagram above is supposed to be (this is extremely hot to me)
