i bought some plushy hammocks to finally get things off of the top of my bookshelf, and as a consequence just found some of my favorite and most expensive necklaces, which have been missing for literal years because i decided to put them somewhere safe (in a special box on top of the bookshelf)

I genuinley need to talk about the tear on murray is tail along with the necklace. I don’t know if you covered this or not but I remember the first comic for it where she is holding the necklace talking about the tweels is dad while holding the necklace so was it his?

Along with the rip on her tail did she get it out of a fight or the moment when something happened with their father? Im sorry if Its a bother I’m just attached to your art rn and wanna unravel it

Plus when you drew her as a kid I wanna know if it was either a small scar she got either if she was a kid or my random thought was right.

Hehe I was waiting for someone to ask about the necklace, I'm glad you asked 🤭🤭!

The necklace is a mourning locket. Mourning jewellery is very common and popular in the Coral Sea, since it's the most efficient way to grieve the death of a loved one. So the necklace isn't his, but technically IS him, since there's both a lock of hair and a picture of him inside of the locket (yes it can open, though Murray rarely opens it/doesn't want to)

For the rip in her tail, I'm actually impressed that you got it, but yes it's from when something happened to papa Leech. The rip was caused by Murray trying to escape and it got stuck on something. I can't say much since I am planning on making a little comic about it in the future but yes, you are correct about it being from something that happened to Papa over there.

I will eventually post more info about Dad Leech, his character design and how he interacted with Murray. Though that's going to happen after I introduce Murray's (adoptive) dad, since that old man is still very much in the picture and is one of the people who helped raise the tweels.

And, because I am normal and don't think about these guys for hours every day, here's some backstory:

When Cross first joined, Killer actually took to him pretty quickly (Dust and Horror did not get warm welcomes). Which is to say he immediately started flocking to Cross to annoy him and compete with him on missions. Cross didn't have the benefit of knowing Killer already to see these were affectionate annoyances, so to him Killer was just some guy who had a problem and wouldn't leave him alone.

During that mission, Nightmare was calling a retreat when he put a hand to his chest and realised the heart locket was gone. Killer saw him looking all around frantically and had a good idea what was lost, since it was the one thing Cross would absolutely not part with since he joined. So, Killer ran back out towards the stars to look for it, because why learn self preservation now. It was the first thing to convince Cross that Killer actually was being (relatively) friendly, despite all the annoyances.

Agatha surprised her with a long, black box when she awoke that morning. After the warm response they both had to Rio's collar, Agatha wanted something more publicly acceptable. Innocent enough, a heart pendant with a simple "A" inscribed on it, on a thin chain. Nothing obvious whatsoever.

Rio loved it so much they were then late for work that morning. She wore it that day, constantly fidgeting with it and making Agatha smile just from how much she liked it.

Herb was having a birthday party of sorts at the bar in town, having invited the entire precinct to celebrate. It being a Friday night as well just meant the bar would be absolutely packed. Normally not one for crowds, Agatha agreed to go while her eyes were on the pretty new necklace around Rio's neck.

When they got to the bar, they were lucky to see their usual booth in the far back corner was still free to grab. Agatha led the both of them to it, sliding in. Before Rio could take the bench across from her, she pulls Rio in with her.

"You think I could fuck you here?" she rasps in her ear, hand gripping her knee before moving between her thighs. She cups Rio's sex through her slacks before kissing her cheek. "Can't seem to keep my hands off of you."

Rio whimpers, barely audible from the volume of everyone in the bar, but Agatha knows. Her hand drops from Rio, settling them on the table with a chuckle.

"Beer?"

Rio licks her lips, clearing her throat to calm herself down. "Sure."

As she walks away, she feels Agatha's eyes on her. She flicks her tongue into the inside of her cheek, shaking her head. The untapped excitement she feels wearing Agatha's initial around her neck so publicly is addictive. Like lightning under her skin, begging to be unleashed.

Rio grabs the silver pendant on her necklace between her thumb and forefinger, running it back and forth as she stands at the bar. She eyes the bartender, hoping she'll be served as she feels a hand on her lower back.

"I'll help you, beautiful," a man's voice says in her ear. Rio frowns impulsively, looking over her shoulder for Agatha. "Can't believe a pretty thing like you is alone over here."

Rio turns to look at the man, still frowning. "Not alone, don't need help. Thanks."

The man raises his hand while the other still is on her lower back. "Don't need to be hostile, miss. Don't you want to be friends? I'm such a good friend."

Rio shrugs out of his grasp, stepping away from the bar entirely as she drops the pendant. The man's gaze falls from her eyes and down to her necklace, the glint of the light allowing him to read what was on it.

"Oh, does your name start with an A?"

Rio smirks, shaking her head. She doesn't say anything, instead leaving the man alone to lick his wounds after her rejection. She walks off, slipping through the crowd of people in the bar until she finds her way back to Agatha's side.

She'd be able to find Agatha if she were blindfolded. Forever drawn to her aura, the invisible tether tied to each of their bodies. The necklace was just another way of displaying it.

Arriving empty handed to the table, her breath catches as she approaches her girlfriend.

"There's my girl," Agatha says with an amused look, reaching forward to take the pendant between her own fingers. She rubs the letter with the pad of her thumb, sucking her teeth as the corner of her lips curl up in a smile. "I saw what happened. Should I remind you who you belong to, hon?"

Rio presses her thighs together, "You do, baby. But I wouldn't say no to a reminder."
