so i actually had to sit down and think about this because i havent established a ton of solid lore for them yet.. but ! i like to think of lumi (my self-insert) as a safe space for shadow due to her gentle and soothing personality. shes actually mute so they dont talk much when theyre together (obv), but theres this quiet mutual understanding between them. like they just get each other without needing to say anything.

this sounds so cheesy when i read it out to myself hwelp.. im still not sure if i wna make their relationship romantic tbh i think id actually prefer it if they were just friends who care for each other a lot :)c

oh The other thing i wanted to talk about ! so recently I became the luckiest girl alive forever when i got my hands on the old Emily the strange : Strangerous 3ds game & playing it has . breathed the creepiest cutest most nostalgic black kitties the sweetest air back into my childhood n life. And i don't know many people who played it back then + there r barely any playthrus / walkthrus online for it .. I had been thinki ng for a while of posting playthrus of my video games on like . youtube probably , rly only bcus I replay certain games so often that i figured posting my own playthru i can rewatch selfishly would help . BUT this game specifically + The path , i am rlyly curiously and heavily considering makin lore type videos or walkthrus / tutorials. this would all again b selfishly for me tho But idk There would be lots to figure out . i just wna be able to have lots of videos n screencaps of my fav videogames to shareEspecially this emily the strange one ..god It is so gorgeous and created me ;_; i hope i can show everyone it soon !

Into, Across and Beyond!: Quill Society Membership Rules

So I'm gonna do a small lore dump for IAB! here, discussing about how the Quill Society handles recruiting new candidates. As the hints have implied here and there, compared to the Funkin' Society and the Spider-Society, a member doesn't have to solely be focused around individual Sonics to be a member.

As you've seen, the members in the Quill Society are very diverse in their styles and types, such as counterparts of Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream and Shadow all being present around the place. This also applies to numerous fan-made characters, such as Millie, Milly Prower, SunFIRE and Creamy, having roles due to their appearances and endeavours.

For one reason or another, the Quill Society has even brought in beta characters and/or glitch entities as members (examples of these including Boomer the Turtle, Ashura and Bluckles), alongside figures like Lord Mortis (a redeemed X from another timeline) and Socket/Minute (the character whose game was called a Sonic knockoff).

However, you may have also noticed that there are characters not explicitly made by SEGA that have appeared in the Society's recruit list. Well, there's a good reason for it. If a potential candidate's backstory (or a special event) has enough involvement from somebody who is a SEGA character, then the Quill Society will extend their hand to them in spite of those differences. As specific examples go:

Friday Night Funkin':

Benjamin has Hatsune Miku, a vocaloid owned by SEGA in the real world, as his big sister.

Kenji Tensei (the Boyfriend from HoloFunk Pre-6.0) was once employed by Kazuma Kiryu from Like a Dragon, and his cousin is the co-worker and best friend of Kiryu's pupils. Both the girls in question are co-workers with Korone Inugami, who is the current brand administrator for Sonic as a franchise. And in general, Kenji's world's darker writing is full of homages to Like a Dragon.

In the case of Aloe Mano (her counterpart from HoloFunk), while the Like a Dragon aspects are gone, she's still an alumni of Korone's company, and the two were pitted against each other in the final fight of the mod's 6.0 release. And it's likely that she's not beholden to the same busy schedules and bigger fish to fry like the rest of her world's main cast.

Others:

Carol and Blitz!Milla showing up in the Quill Society is because of Freedom Planet starting out as a Sonic fan game before it expanded into a full-fledged indie game (a nod to this being in Hedgelac's appearance). For Blitz!Milla, it helps that she also comes from a crossover fanfic that her boyfriend (Blitz!Tails) also stars in.

The Aladdin and Woody that survived Respiro's wrath don't have any ties to SEGA on their own (their tales instead animated by Disney), but since Respiro went and attacked a Sonic world before trying to destroy everything using Oldum's body, Blaze serves as the Sonic representative of their team, and thus granting the pair clearance for candidacy. Out-of-universe, both also have video games on the SEGA Genesis adapting their first films.

Red, one of the major characters seen in the Angry Birds franchise, was made by Rovio, a company initially independent of SEGA. Though he was made a SEGA character after the company purchased the rights to the series.

Ninjala, itself an indie game, had a Sonic crossover event in its early points that allowed players to purchase Sonic-themed cosmetics to add to their avatar, so in turn, any of the ninja from that game can be considered a candidate, considering their own schedules at WNA aren't keeping them too busy.

In the case of those who aren't capable fighters, the Quill Society is simply otherwise a hub where they can interact with others in a friendly social setting. Though Lofi Girl had the collab with SEGA and Alien: Isolation recently, she's got her usual studies booked in (same with Synthwave Boy and his programming) and might not be able to be there outside of the odd break. Lofi BF and Lofi GF might also be candidates with this in mind, but the revamped Funkin' Society in the aftermath of The X's defeat calls to them more due to it simply being a social hub and not a strike force anymore.

I love your long posts and answers to questions and headcanon and I just wanna ask what your thought process is? How do you categorize which ones to answer, how do you gather your thoughts and how do you verbalize your answers?

HIIIII and awwww thank you soooo much!!! <3333 i never expected someone out there to enjoy them LEHFKWNKFE i'm a self-entertaining machine since i was a kid so i spend a lot of time sitting in my thoughts 🫡 i also wna thank to whoever sends in asks because i love reading them and omg our brain waves are joining together... 🫶🫶🫶🫶

*sweats looking at my other half-written answer drafts* i figured to answer this first because then it explains how my brain works and processes the asks i get 😩

my thought process... *shovels through my braincells like i'm rummaging a pile of dead leaves* HMMMM i feel like it more has to do with how my brain is wired. i'm curious about human behaviour, patterns and drawing connections to unrelated things so when if character does action XYZ then i'd just think about why they did that (e.g. how they were brought up, motivations, other contextual factors) and what else does it imply for their other potential future behaviours. this might be because i couldn't read social cues well and was always confused 😭😭 so i fixated so hard on picking all on this up so i could understand the world better and actually be more adapted to society ☠️ plus i'm not good at articulating my thoughts and it's something i've been trying to work on. in a way, posting my long asks here is a form of practice for me to structure my thoughts better 😁

honestly i love all the asks i get and think they're interesting, so i'd eventually get to them all!!! it's just i take longer to respond to certain asks because: 1) i have too many messy and not concrete ideas, or 2) they might not be something i particularly thought of before or not of my immediate expertise, so i prefer to sit and mull over it until an inspiration comes through. plus i like to have a better gauge of things before i suggest something LOL sometimes i'd go back to certain episodes and clips just to get like a general reminder of how they are canonically (mannerisms, speech and clues about what their thoughts are) and reminding myself of their canon storyline lore. i know headcanons are headcanons but idk i like to base my thoughts on evidence LMSKWLFJKSK but ofc bc the way shows are so limited and some show writers desperately HATE their own characters ☠️☠️☠️

usually i just word vomit and then slowly solidify things up and reorder them by drawing imaginary connections so they would flow better structurally. for vague ideas/concepts, i would go google to understand and fact check what i'm thinking (e.g. animals, parenting behaviours). i bounce from idea to idea unexpectedly, so i have MANY drafts of my half-written answers. plus this is also probably why i've never stuck to actually trying to publishing a proper fic, because i get frustrated when i work on something for too long 😭😭 AND ofc the most important thing, languages was never my strong suit.....

i hope that answers your question!!! and that it makes sense.... i'm still trying to dig apart my brain ngl.... if you are a nerd like me, the technical term for the struggle i face mentioned above is called theory of mind. there's this research paper that scientifically explains the experience i described.... (and this is why i have a headcanon that sonny is also autistic despite showing how he can understand and blend in the field! probably might make another post just to talk about autistic sonny again LOL)
