Baltimore County Animal Services currently has almost 40 dogs available for adoption in the shelter. We have more dogs available than kennels in our adoptable room, with more dogs coming in or becoming available throughout the day. We are over capacity and desperately need adopters or rescues to help. All of these dogs are available for rescue or adoption immediately. We are open 12-5 today for adoptions, and 12-3 tomorrow.

All of the dogs are medium-large size, but of all ages (6 month-9 years), weights (28 pounds-75 pounds) and energy levels. All of our kennels are quickly filling up. We’re hopeful someone is still looking to add a furry family member before the holidays and will give our dogs a chance to be their best friend fur-ever! Any courtesy posts for our dogs in need are greatly appreciated! Oliver has been very involved in the business recently. Most of what I bring home to work on, he must inspect. We have been inventorying lots of new crystals for our next 3 Holiday Double Live Sales. Oliver’s paws have literally been in all the boxes check out the “batability” of the crystals. Wir hatten die Tage Besuch🐾 von einen fremden Kater 🐈 Ein wunderschönes Tier aber leider haben die Besitzer ihm ein Halsband MIT Glöckchen verpasst 🙁 Ich höre den Kater in der Nacht teilweise schon aus großer Entfernung wenn er "angebimmelt" kommt. Aber Mäuse fängt er trotzdem äußerst erfolgreich 🤣 zumindest lief er unlängst mit einer im Maul die Treppen hoch 🤣🙈 . .Leider weiß ich noch nicht wo er wohnt und kenne die Besitzer nicht. Why is my work room always a mess with random cat beds and fabrics scattered around? This evening I met with Jacquie from @luxepaws … if you want to know more about what they do… Or how you can help them in their mission, information is on their profile page. Spaying and neutering wild neighborhood cats is important. Keeping the population in check… as wild cats decimate bird populations among other things. One neighborhood cat is cute… 57 is a problem. Step 1. Make sure you have a solid plan on where you are going to take the cats before you trap them. A shelter, rescue, or a clinic. Have it worked out before you trap the cats. Make sure where you plan to take them is copacetic with your idea. Step two. Consider contacting organizations like Luxe Paws or similar in your area. People who do TNR, have vet connections, own traps and have knowledge. Just getting spay and neuter appointments in certain areas is a challenge. Step three: attempt to get spay and neuter programs in your city or town. Your local municipality should be trying to help keep feral cat populations in check. Step four: it’s better to get kittens early than wait till they grow too old. But it’s important also to get mature male and females spay and neutered or else you will continue to have blossoms of kittens. Step five. Learn TNR from someone who knows what they’re doing and don’t ask me… I’m not even a novice. I just did it for a few hours. Big thanks to Jacquie and Luxe Paws for showing me an important process that I had no experience in until tonight. We trapped 5 cats, a little TNR. That’s trap/neuter/return… Or trap/spay/release… Or trap/fix/get medical help/find adopters… One was in need of medical attention. It’s really important that you and your community keeps the animal population in check.
