5 O’clock Somewhere
Filling out a work report,
a tiny slice of hell;
paperwork is never done,
but only time will tell.
Clock is ticking by the hour
consistent with the sun,
pursuing time and cash until
the corporate day is done.
The clients billed by hours,
the hours stacked in rows,
the timesheets tracking money
as the workload never slows.
Until the day is over,
with promises to keep;
it seems my work is never-ending
even when I sleep.
Perhaps it’s time to question
exactly what I think—
ask, what would Jimmy Buffett do?
and go and have a drink.

Being a flex gaurd is dope. I get to work at different facilities all week. I hope more hours come in. It's nice finally catching up on everything even if it feels tough. I can't wait for a spot to open full time, we're getting ready to fix the floors in the house and get ready to sell and move. Transfer elsewhere, figure it out, give my beautiful wife a big kitchen with a 18 burner stove and the pups 🐶 can finally have a yard!!

A Word’s Look: Workingman’s Blues #2 by Bob Dylan
Of the entire canon of Bob Dylan’s work, I think Workingman’s Blues #2 runs a close second to Like a Rolling Stone. The song came out in 2006 on Dylan’s Modern Times album. I cannot remember where I first heard or became aware of it. It was probably on one of the last area real-life classic rock stations before those faded into oblivion. The song isn’t one of the more popular or well-known of…

Day One Thousand and Ninety Nine
It's the same story the crow told me It's the only one he know Like the morning sun you come And like the wind you go
Ain't no time to hate Barely time to wait Woah, oh, what I want to know Where does the time go?

Grateful Dead Unveil Greatest Hits Compilation to Celebrate 60-Year Legacy
You either get the Grateful Dead… or you don’t. Being a Deadhead isn’t just about being a fan—it’s a state of mind, a lifestyle, a musical devotion unlike anything else in rock culture. The Grateful Dead inspires a loyalty far beyond casual listening, creating a uniquely tight-knit community of followers who continue to celebrate the band’s free-spirited ethos decades after their…

I gave my Modern Times-album with Dylan a spin today when I was out driving and this song is so beautiful, I think. Thanks Bobby D for singing this song for me today. <3
