Daily Devotionals for September 18, 2024
Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 24:30-32 (KJV): 30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; 31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. 32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
Proverbs 24:30-32 (AMP): 30 I went by the field of the lazy man, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding: 31 And, behold, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles were covering its face, and its stone wall was broken down. 32 Then I beheld and considered it well; I looked and received instruction.
Thought for the Day
These verses in Proverbs tell us that the slothful or lazy person's property will be evidenced by the obvious neglect and lack of care that it shows. What does the word "slothful" mean? The dictionary33 tells us that it means "Disinclined to work or use exertion; lazy." Someone who is lazy will not take care of the things that belong to them. They are irresponsible. That is the reason they never will acquire an estate. Laziness is one of the things that produces poverty. (Of course, some people are born into poverty and it is not their fault they are in it; however, they do not have to stay in it. If they come to God, He will show them the way out of it by helping them to find a good job.) There is another scripture in Proverbs that tells us that a slothful person is a brother to one who is a great waster.
Solomon noted the evidence of laziness; fields overgrown with thorns and vineyards and stone walls in disrepair. Thorns and nettles choke whatever crop one plants, and overtake it (Matthew 13:7), making them very difficult to dislodge. Broken walls allow foxes (or enemies) to enter and spoil one's vineyard (Song of Solomon 2:15). Since agriculture was the main occupation in Biblical times, most Israelites owned fields and vineyards. Those who were poor workers reaped poor harvests. Though we have different "fields" of work today, the Biblical observations on slothfulness remain applicable. If we do a poor job, the results will be the same: both our performance record and income will be poor.
"He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster" (Proverbs 18:9). Because slothful people are self-serving, they neglect their responsibilities at work and perform poorly, wasting their employers' time and money. To the employer, this is like sustaining a loss because someone destroyed equipment. A godly person has a servant's heart and works well, unto the Lord. "Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men" (Ephesians 6:5-7). Organized, efficient workers stand out and receive promotions. We can learn what not to do by observing how the laziness of others wastes time and resources. Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, thank you for giving me talents and gifts to contribute my portion to make this world a better place. Lord, I do appreciate the strength and grace to be able to daily do my job. May I always be a good worker and a cheerful one? Help me not to complain in the workplace, but to do my job with a joyful attitude. Give me a servant's heart to serve, not only those in charge but also to be mindful of all of my co-laborers. May my labor be a tribute to Your touch on my life, in that, all I do is of excellent quality and workmanship. I ask this in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wasted My Time on This
I used half of this drama as background noise and I did not even have my eyes on the screen for at least a third of this drama, this was no doubt a time waster. I did not exactly hate it, there were bits and pieces that I enjoyed. Unfortunately, Here We Meet Again was unnecessarily long, this drama did not need 32 episodes.
The only reason, and I stress on only, I continued watching was because I wanted to see what kind of karma will Xiang Yuan's identity bring to the show's villain(s). Let me just say, though it was satisfying at that moment, after thinking about it for a day, it was not worth watching so many episodes for.
Sure, this was an easy drama to play in the background but like I have been saying, this was such a huge waste of my time. I am only giving this a slightly higher rating because Janice Wu and Vin Zhang had comfortable chemistry. It might have been a chore to watch but at least the acting was smooth.
Do not watch this drama, there are better and/or shorter chinese romance dramas that are a better worth of your time. I guess you can consider Here We Meet Again if you've watched every single romance drama there is to watch but I still think one should not waste their time on this.
Rating: ★★★☆☆

There is a general lack of understanding of how computers work - one that tips strongly towards ignorance at each end of the age scale. Not phones or tablets and the like, but a "desktop" or laptop computer. This is not an attack on older or younger people, but it is a fact - one which makes people MORE dependent of easily manipulated data sources.
I've watched the rise and fall of computer literacy. In older people it is understandable to a certain extent. When the personal computer became common place, it was the playground of children, a time waster for teens, and a select few people used computers at work. Even as those numbers grew, most people who were adults in the mid-90s and beyond only needed a computer for specific tasks they were trained for. Thousands of blue collar jobs either did not use computers at all, or used them only as an interface to select between functions.
I did, in fact, learn computers in school. To a certain extent. They were still becoming common-place, so I had courses in high school and college - both times. I learned from other people, we learned as computers developed - and we filled in the gaps because people needed to know this to be employable.
My child, however, did not. Sure, she had computer lab as early as preschool, and I thought she was learning what I did. But no. She learned programs, she learned how to be comfortable with a computer, but they did not teach about where to save files, how a computer works, what all the numbers and letters mean. She, and her young cousins, can run a phone or tablet like a Mozart on a piano. But a computer?
I've trained many first-real-job-out-of-college kids young adults, and the school systems (and parents) have failed them. They do not know what a file is, where a drive is, how to navigate without an app to click. They don't know where their files they save go, they have no understanding of how full a hard drive may be, and they don't know why the computer stops working.
While I'm at it, they also have zero experience with desk phones. A dial tone is not a thing they've encountered. Hold buttons, transfers, and voice mail. These are things that MUST be taught, now, at the workplace level, because they are not learning them before they come.
So it's little wonder that the computer world is dumbing down what they are selling. They are simply trying to market to the knowledge level. There's so much being lost! If you are a parent, please, take the time to teach your kids these things. If you are under 30, please ask someone to teach you, take a class, do online tutorials! This "simple" knowledge will skyrocket you past your peers in the workplace.
not to enforce gender roles but a computer should NOT fucking have apps okay. if I wanted an app I'd go on my phone my laptop is for Programs. I mean this.

Using Employee Keyloggers To Eliminate Time-Wasting Habits
In today’s fast-paced digital world, time is money. And yet, despite best intentions, employees often fall into time-wasting habits that can hinder productivity. Whether it’s checking social media, bouncing between tasks, or using inefficient tools, these distractions can add up. That’s where employee keyloggers come in — as an essential tool for identifying and eliminating time-wasting habits.
Used ethically and responsibly, keyloggers help managers pinpoint where time is being lost and guide employees toward more productive work practices.
Here’s how employee Keylogger can help you cut down on distractions and boost workplace efficiency.
🕵️♂️ What Is a Keylogger and Why Does It Matter?
A keylogger is a monitoring software that tracks and records keystroke activity, app usage, website visits, and even screenshots. While they may sound like surveillance tools, when used transparently and for the right reasons, keyloggers are powerful productivity tools.
Instead of guessing where inefficiencies lie, keyloggers provide hard data that can guide decision-making, help shape more productive habits, and ensure time isn’t wasted on non-work-related tasks.
🛑 Identifying Time-Wasting Activities
One of the key benefits of employee keyloggers is their ability to pinpoint time-wasting habits with accuracy. Whether it’s checking social media, watching YouTube videos, or browsing personal sites during work hours, keyloggers can log:
Websites visited and how much time was spent on them
Applications used and their relevance to work
Periods of inactivity where work wasn’t being done
This data gives managers a clear snapshot of how time is spent, so they can take proactive steps to improve efficiency.
⏳ Shifting Focus with Time Analysis
By tracking the time spent on different apps or websites, keyloggers allow managers to evaluate how employees allocate their time. Are they spending too much time on unnecessary tasks or browsing non-work-related websites? If so, it’s time for a shift in focus.
Keyloggers help identify the specific habits that contribute to Time Wasters such as:
Overuse of social media
Frequent task switching
Unproductive software use
Excessive personal web browsing
Once these behaviors are identified, it becomes easier to implement changes that help eliminate these distractions and get employees back on track.
🎯 Targeting Inefficient Work Patterns
A keylogger doesn’t just track time spent on tasks, it also shows the flow of work. Are employees constantly switching between tasks, bouncing from one project to another without completing anything? This habit, often referred to as “task-switching,” can drastically reduce productivity.
Keyloggers reveal the frequency and impact of task switching by tracking when and how often employees shift focus. By identifying this, managers can:
Offer time management training
Introduce time-blocking techniques to help employees stay on task
Encourage breaks to avoid burnout and promote focus
With data-backed insights, managers can make better decisions to optimize workflows.
🚫 Limiting Distractions with Smart Tools
Time-wasting habits can also be linked to the tools employees use. Whether it’s using the wrong software or not using the right one at all, a lack of digital tools can lead to inefficiency.
Keyloggers can show:
Underused tools: Employees might be sticking to inefficient tools that aren't fully optimized for their tasks.
Excessive switching between tools: Having to jump between too many applications can waste time and lead to frustration.
By analyzing this data, managers can standardize tool usage, recommend better options, and train employees on the most efficient tools to complete their work.
🔄 Supporting Change with Real-Time Feedback
Once time-wasting habits are identified, it’s important to act on that data and provide real-time feedback to employees. Keyloggers allow for:
Instant feedback on behavior: Managers can provide feedback quickly when they notice time-wasting habits.
Tracking progress: Over time, keyloggers can show how much improvement has been made in eliminating distractions.
With this continuous cycle of feedback and improvement, employees are more likely to adjust their habits and become more mindful of how they manage their time.
🌟 Promoting a Culture of Productivity
When employees understand that the goal isn’t to “catch them in the act” but rather to create a more efficient work environment, they are more likely to embrace the changes. Smart keylogging practices empower employees to become more self-aware and take responsibility for how they manage their time.
By using keyloggers to eliminate time-wasting habits, you create a culture of productivity where both the employer and employees are working toward the same goal: maximizing time and achieving results.

🏁 Final Thoughts: Empowering Efficiency with Ethical Keylogging
Time-wasting habits are common in every workplace, but with the right tools, they don’t have to be permanent. Employee Keylogger, when used ethically and transparently, offer the data and insights needed to identify distractions, shift focus, and promote better time management.
The key is to focus on using this information to coach employees rather than punish them. With real-time feedback and actionable insights, you can create a more productive environment for everyone.

Missed Deadlines? Lost Productivity? Employee Live Tracking Could Be the Answer
Are you tired and annoyed of chasing after never-ending deadlines? Is your team's productivity lagging? Do you feel that you have lost view of what your staff members are doing during work hours, more so with the emergence of remote and hybrid work models? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, you are the one among many with similar experiences. Companies face these challenges, and the key part is that there is an answer to all of them: Employee live tracking.
It takes smart work, not only hard work, to stay ahead of the curve. Smart work means using technology to make things easier, faster, and reliable. Employee live tracking is not about micromanaging but rather providing tools and insights to build a productive and transparent work culture.
The Productivity Puzzle: Why Are Deadlines Being Missed?
Let's see why people miss the deadlines, before starting with how employee live tracking software will solve these issues. Any of the following explanations can contribute to missed deadlines or lost productivity:
Lack of Transparency: If something is happening without you knowing what employees are working on and how they're spending their time, it might be hard to recognize when they get stuck or need support.
Inefficient Workflows: When processes are overly complex or carelessly designed, time gets wasted and moods become spoiled, and this impacts productivity.
Communication Breakdowns: Between team members, team miscommunication or no communication means delays and mistakes.
Distractions and Time Wasters: Digital distractions abound. From social media to personal emails, distractions abound, if people get distracted during the workday-it can damage focus or production.
Lack of Accountability: If employees fail to make themselves responsible for their time or tasks, this only leads to delays or a lack of deadlines.https://www.youtube.com/embed/FD9UwtJPRP8
Employee Live Tracking: A Solution for the Modern Workplace
Live employee tracking changes the game for these problems by providing a route for real-time visibility of employee activity, improving accountability, and enabling data-driven decision-making.
How Does It Work?
Real-Time View: Live employee tracking gives you a real-time view of what the employees are up to. Their application usage, website visits, and active and idle times information are all tracked by the monitoring system.
Tracking Work Time and Attendance: This tool allows you to keep an accurate track of employee work hours, attendance, and breaks. It prevents the use of manual timesheets, thereby eliminating errors.
Integration with Project Management: A host of employee live-tracking maintains third-party project management software that allows real-time tracking of tasks and projects.
Reports and Analytics: Detailed reporting on employee productivity, time allocation, and project progress can be generated. Such insights will help you to figure out the areas for improvement so that you can make further optimizations to your workflows.
Location Tracking (Optional): Through location tracking, especially for remote employees or field teams, you can gain substantial insight into where and when they are on or off during their duties.
Benefits of Employee Live Tracking
Some benefits that would fall to the organization with the introduction of employee live tracking include the following:
Enhanced Productivity: Employee live tracking allows for real-time insight into employee activities and the recognition of time-wasting activities, ensuring that employees are focused and productive.
Better Accountability: Knowing that their time and activities are being monitored increases the accountability of employee to stick to their tasks and meet project deadlines.
Improved Time Management: Employee live tracking encourages employees to be aware of how their time is being spent and identify areas for improving their time management skills.
Refined Workflow: With all analytical data on employee productivity and time allocation, you can identify problem areas and inefficiencies in your workflow, and work on such areas.
Improved Communication: Employee live tracking sometimes guarantees more open communication among team members during project development and helps to identify the possible blockage.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Analytic and reporting capabilities will empower you to make informed decisions regarding resource allocation, project development, and employee growth.
Cost Reduction: Lastly, with improved productivity and efficiency, less employee live tracking translates into lower labour costs and maximizing profitability.
Addressing Concerns About Employee Live Tracking
It's a natural instinct for employees to have some apprehensions about tracking their activities; some may even consider it to be an invasion of privacy or a symbol of distrust towards them. But it's very important now to advocate for the benefits of tracking as not micromanaging but enhancing productivity and bettering the work environment.
Here are some tips for addressing the concerns of employees:
Be Transparent: The objectives for employee live tracking should always be communicated clearly as to what the tracking data will be used for.
Productivity: Stress that productivity and efficiency are the only goals of the tracking process and not one of monitoring employees in the path of their work.
Respect Privacy: Establish policies that respect the privacy of employees, including not tracking personal time and activities or communications.
Training: Give training to employees about the use of employee live tracking software and data interpretation.
Feedback: Encourage employees to share their opinions and suggestions about the employee live tracking system, and make adjustments wherever they deem necessary.

Office Clutter Cleanup in Atlanta and Canton, GA for Small Businesses: Boost Productivity by Clearing the Workspace
For small businesses in Canton, Georgia, maintaining an organized and clutter-free workspace is more than just a matter of aesthetics. A tidy office boosts productivity, enhances employee morale, and promotes efficiency. With many small businesses juggling numerous tasks and limited office space, clutter can quickly become a significant roadblock to success. Going for professional clutter cleanup in Atlanta and Canton, GA, can transform a chaotic workspace into an efficient, productive environment. Here's how decluttering the office can benefit one's small business and improve overall performance.
Increased Productivity and Focus
One of the most immediate benefits of clearing office clutter is its impact on productivity. A messy, disorganized environment can distract employees, slow down workflow, and make it challenging to locate essential items. On the other hand, a clean and organized workspace allows team members to focus on their tasks without unnecessary interruptions.
By eliminating distractions, the owner allows the team to maintain focus, leading to greater output and better results.
Improved Employee Morale
A cluttered workspace affects productivity and employee morale. No one enjoys working in a cramped, messy office where desks are overflowing with papers and storage spaces are poorly managed. Employees in such environments may feel overwhelmed and demotivated, leading to higher levels of job dissatisfaction.
In contrast, an organized and clean office promotes calm and order, contributing to a more positive work atmosphere. Employees in clutter-free environments are likely to feel more valued, as a well-maintained space reflects a company's commitment to providing a professional, supportive environment.
Time Savings and Efficiency
Time is a valuable resource for small businesses, and clutter can be a major time-waster. When employees spend excessive time searching for misplaced files, office supplies, or equipment, the workplace's overall efficiency is reduced. A decluttered office saves time by ensuring everything is easily accessible and logically organized.
Creating an efficient filing system, organizing supplies, and implementing proper storage solutions can significantly reduce the time spent on non-essential tasks.
Better Space Utilization
For small businesses, office space is often at a premium. Clutter can quickly consume valuable square footage, making it difficult to utilize the space one has effectively. By decluttering, one can maximize the available office space and create a more functional layout. Clearing out old or unused items, reorganizing desks, and creating designated storage areas can make the office feel more spacious.
Reduced Stress Levels
Clutter has been shown to increase stress levels, negatively affecting employee performance and overall workplace dynamics. A cluttered environment creates a sense of chaos, making it difficult for employees to relax and focus on their tasks. Decluttering helps create a more serene and organized environment, significantly reducing stress levels. When employees feel less stressed, they are more likely to be productive, engaged, and able to think creatively—key traits that small businesses need to succeed.
Professional Image and Client Impressions
First impressions matter, especially when it comes to business. For small businesses in Canton, a cluttered office can create an unprofessional image for visiting clients or partners. A clean, organized workspace, on the other hand, sends a message of competence and attention to detail.
By prioritizing office organization, the owner demonstrates clients and business partners that the company is well-managed and focused on delivering quality services. This can enhance the reputation and increase trust with clients, ultimately benefiting the business in the long run.
For small businesses in Canton, office clutter cleanup can lead to a host of benefits, from increased productivity and employee morale to improved space utilization and reduced stress. Keeping the clutter at bay can also help keep mold growth in check. If mold growth is still due to clutter, it is essential for the office owner to go for professional mold removal in Atlanta and Johns Creek, GA. But when that one bad apple keeps on ruining things, dragging down team morale, souring the workplace, and making life a living hell for you, the other managers, and their colleagues, you have no choice but to deal with it. You have to end things. But you may wonder, “How do I deal with a toxic employee?” Surely, there are good ways to handle the bad apple, and then there are ways to worsen the situation. You want the first option to increase job satisfaction and ensure the workplace environment doesn’t become hostile or toxic (like the rotten apple). Before you deal with a toxic employee, here are the signs to identify that they are toxic. 7 Signs You Have a Toxic Employee It’s not always easy to spot a toxic employee since they don’t usually advertise that they are unhealthy or behave toxically. Plus, some toxic people are really good at hiding their true nature. They carry on as “normal,” playing the game of being a good employee until that one day when they snap or you see them for who they truly are. These kinds of employees are often skilled manipulators, so chances are high that they have colleagues and even those in management wrapped around their fingers, making it even more challenging to see their real colors or as individuals whose behavior is toxic or that they are making the work environment a toxic place. Here are the signs to watch out for that will help you identify a toxic employee: An overall negative attitude Negative Neds are harmful to their core, and nothing you do as an employer seems to make them happy. These toxic employees have a low job satisfaction rate and get angry quickly, meaning colleagues walk on eggshells around them. Their negativity also tends to spread. Gossips create an “us versus them” work environment with the cliques they form. This quickly leads to conflict as Gossip Ginas uses their charismatic personalities to divide (by spreading gossip and rumors) rather than unite. Gossip mongers tend to cause trouble intentionally. Never take responsibility Toxic employees unwilling to take responsibility will always blame and backstab others. It’s never a No Responsibility Rina’s fault, so they play the classic victim card by complaining, causing problems (since they never help find solutions), and blaming others for their failings. The clock watchers or Time Waster Watsons are employees who show up to work because they have to be there. While physically present, they don’t spend much time working, instead engaging in “hobbies” like scrolling through social media, shopping online, chatting by the water cooler, or surfing the web. Or, they find other activities that waste company time without doing the work (or do as little of it as possible to maintain appearances). Insubordination and sabotage These toxic employees (Troublemaking Teds) are all about undermining their colleagues and managers and doing everything they can to make the company look bad. Troublemaking Teds tend to tell tale about others, causing serious distrust at work. Bullying and harassment Toxic employees can also be bullies and harass, intimidate, criticize, or demean their coworkers, clients, and superiors. Bully Bens have a demoralizing (if not downright devastating) effect in the workplace as they highlight the mistakes others make as examples of what not to do. Unprofessional behavior Employees who are toxic, like Disrespectful Dianas, Violent Vinnies, or Seductive Stans, also engage in other unprofessional behaviors. They use company communication systems like email and instant messaging platforms to share inappropriate jokes, memes, and snarky messages. They also talk loudly on the phone, sharing personal and private details about their or another coworker's life.
They may use social media to share harmful things about the company. Other unprofessional behaviors a toxic employee exhibits include taking credit for someone else’s work, being aggressive (or even passive-aggressive), being absent from work a lot, being insensitive, being a jackass, chronic procrastinating, always making excuses, and being toxic positive. 7 Steps for How to Deal With a Toxic Employee Managing toxic employees is challenging because it creates a hostile work environment for everyone. Their toxicity is like a contagious disease that spreads either quickly or slowly, depending on how toxic the individual is and how they behave. It also costs the company money in terms of loss of revenue and increased employee turnover (and more). Toxic employees are found in traditional workplaces and remote job settings, but how do you effectively deal with this problematic person who won’t take responsibility for their actions, who doesn't play nice with others, and who makes the workplace unbearable for everyone else? It would be best to identify a toxic applicant before you hire them. Unfortunately, the signs that a person may be toxic in the workplace may be impossible to spot on their résumé. While there may be signs that they are toxic during the interview process, you often only realize or learn how negatively they behave once they are hired and comfortable in their position at the company. If an applicant shows signs of being toxic, don’t hire them, no matter how brilliant they may seem. But if you do hire someone and they turn out to be toxic … Here are the best steps to help you deal with a toxic employee: 1. Gather Information The first step is to prepare, gather information, and document evidence. You need to make sure the toxic employee is indeed (and continuously) toxic and not just having a bad day or week (because of unusual circumstances, such as the death of a parent). Plus, most toxic employees may not realize that they are behaving in a toxic way. If they are skilled manipulators, they’ll deflect and deny it. Or, they’ll turn the tables and blame others. Being prepared also helps ensure that when you talk to the employee about their toxic behavior, it doesn’t turn into a “he said, she said” tennis match. It also looks highly unprofessional if you say, “So, I heard about your stinky attitude and how you are spreading rumors.” They’ll disregard you, asking for proof. You want to have your facts straight with the evidence to prove your point. You need to gather specifics and the details thereof (and you’ll use this information when you talk to the employee). The “Golden Rule” that human resources follow will help you here. Document your investigation, making note of specific incidents, the discussion you’ll have with the employee, and what happens afterward. The information-gathering session will also help you decide whether the employee is worth keeping or should be fired. 3. Prepare a Feedforward Plan Marshall Goldsmith, a business educator and coach, recommends creating a feedforward plan when dealing with a toxic employee. Managers generally don’t like giving feedback, and employees don’t like getting feedback (especially when it isn’t consistent with how they see themselves). Feedforward, the opposite of feedback, means addressing actionable ways a toxic employee can tackle negative behaviors. So you don’t look back and dwell on the past (which is what you do when you give feedback); instead, you work with the employee to be better in the future. You want an expansive, dynamic plan that’s focused on the opportunities the future may bring since giving feedback is limited and static. Giving feedforward to your toxic employee means that you share ideas about how they can achieve their goals (maybe they are gunning for a promotion?), which is more productive, effective, and efficient. The employee is less likely to take the feedforward personally since they’ll likely listen to you attentively.
3. Schedule and Have a Talk with the Toxic Employee Talking with the employee won’t be easy, and you may want to combine feedback with a feedforward approach, much like the traditional sandwich method (sharing at least two good things, such as compliments or praise, that’s sandwiched by one negative thing, like constructive criticism). But you need to have “the talk,” so schedule a one-on-one with the toxic employee. Send them a meeting invite and ensure your chosen location is private and free from distractions. No good will come if you choose to chastise or talk with the employee out in the open where others can hear. You also need to be calm, direct, diplomatic, assertive, and prepared to deal with them, so run various scenarios through your mind and note what you want to discuss so you aren’t caught off-guard. Create a safe space to listen to your employees and give feedback or feedforward. Use the specifics you uncovered during your fact-finding mission, talk about what happened as factually and emotionlessly as possible, and focus on their behavior, not who they are as a person. Share or collaborate on a feedforward plan to give the toxic employee reason or motivation to improve their past behavior. Sometimes, you need to set benchmarks (aka deadlines) by which their behavior needs to improve. For example, you can say something like, “There will be a performance review if your behavior on XYZ doesn’t improve in 30 days.” Also, set boundaries with the employee so they don’t approach and confront their coworkers, furthering the toxicity. 4. Follow Through & Create a Plan for the Next Steps You can’t just think you’ve talked to the employee, put their file away, and that’s it. You need to follow up if you want sustainable improvement in how the employee behaves. After discussing with your toxic employee, you must follow through and address the consequences. So, create a plan for the next steps. If you agree there will be a performance review in a month and they haven’t turned their negative and unprofessional behavior around, do the review. If you decided on certain milestones in a feedforward plan, stick with those—provided their behavior isn’t toxic. Part of following through is monitoring their progress. You can do this via colleague feedback, looking at productivity reports, and even self-monitoring. Also, schedule regular check-in meetings so you can constantly contact the toxic employee to listen, give feedback and feedforward, and keep your finger on the situation. Recognize any improvements they make and address failure to do so. 5. Address the Root Causes of the Toxic Behavior Part of dealing with a toxic employee is addressing the root causes of their bad workplace behavior. The employee may not realize that their toxic attitude has such a negative effect on the company. In this case, you may need to ask about personal challenges they are dealing with and offer support. This may mean that the toxic employee needs to go for mandated counseling, therapy, or anger management to help them address their behavior. It could also mean they need coaching, but only if they are ready to embrace opportunity and change their behavior. Besides just looking at the toxic employee, you also need to see the bigger picture. Consider the possibility that the work culture is toxic, causing the employee (and possibly others) to behave negatively. Could it be peer pressure, and you don’t just have a bad apple but a whole basket of bad apples causing the toxicity at your workplace? And what about the employee’s manager or direct boss? Can they be the source of toxicity and other negative behaviors like gaslighting? Finding the root causes of toxic behavior isn’t easy, but it is a must to help you deal with one or more toxic employees. It’s only when you know and understand the why behind the toxicity that you can create an action plan to root it out. 6. Be Proactive and Creative in a Supportive Work Environment The
next step when dealing with a toxic employee is being proactive and creating a supportive and transparent work environment. A supportive work culture can help counter negativity so the toxic employee’s behavior doesn’t drag down your other employees. You may need to limit the time the toxic employee spends with others, so isolate the “infection vector” (aka the toxic employee) as much as possible. Even suggesting they take some time off can help break the cycle of toxicity. Other ways to build a positive and supportive workplace are to foster open communication, give your employees the resources they need to do their jobs well and to succeed, and encourage positive reinforcement. Find ways to engage your workforce in decision-making, giving them ownership and some control. Eliminate unrealistic demands, excessive overtime, and discrimination to help prevent chronic stress. Create mindfulness spaces where your employees can chill and work on their mental health and feel encouraged to do so. Work with leadership to get their buy-in. They need to set examples if they truly want their work environment to be where employees feel seen, heard, and supported and to help eliminate toxicity. 7. Make the Hard Decision and Cut Ties The last resort option is to cut ties with the toxic employee, especially if they aren’t showing up or making an effort to change their behavior. Some people are just hell-bent on destroying and taking (never giving), and it’s no use keeping such an employee around. Sure, they may be geniuses in their field, but considering how much they are costing the company, it most likely isn’t worth keeping this difficult person around. A study by Harvard Business Review found that at least 4% of employees with toxic behavior engaged in that behavior for fun. If that’s the case with your toxic employee, no amount of feedforward, counseling, or support will help. Get informed about what your employees' employment contracts stipulate as fireable offenses and what type of warnings are needed so the process of letting an employee go can be as quiet and without further drama as possible. Legal implications can also cause serious ramifications if you don’t get informed before taking steps. They aren’t too valuable to keep around. No employee is. Remember, every employee is replaceable. In extreme cases, acting swiftly and mitigating the damage is in your (company’s) best interest. Let the toxic employee go and focus on rebuilding a company culture that is inclusive, productive, and supportive. Final Thoughts on How to Deal with Toxic Employee No one likes having a toxic employee around. They ruin the whole work experience, poisoning the workplace with negativity and unprofessional behavior. Managers must deal with toxic employees. While the quick (and sometimes most effortless) solution is to fire the person on the spot, it is recommended to gather information and evidence first. Then, work on a plan that includes feedforward, scheduling a private talk with the toxic employee, and following through on what was discussed while keeping an eye on the person and their behavior. You also want to immunize your employees against toxicity by establishing a supportive work culture. Are you still wondering if your workplace is toxic? Unlocking Efficiency: The Power of Timesheets in Time Management

In the fast-paced world of work, time is a finite and invaluable resource. Efficient time management is crucial for both individuals and organizations to achieve their goals and maximize productivity. Among the various tools and techniques available, timesheets stand out as a powerful instrument for unlocking efficiency. In this blog, we'll delve into how timesheets can transform time management, boost productivity, and drive success in the workplace.
Tracking Every Minute
The first and most obvious benefit of timesheets is their ability to track every minute of work. By recording the start and end times for each task or project, individuals gain a precise understanding of how their time is allocated. This information can be an eye-opener, revealing time sinks and areas where improvements can be made.
Identifying Time Wasters
Timesheets help identify time-wasting activities. As individuals track their daily tasks, they may notice recurring patterns of interruptions, unnecessary meetings, or low-priority tasks that consume significant portions of their time. Armed with this awareness, they can take steps to minimize or eliminate these time-wasting habits.
Setting Priorities
Effective time management is all about setting priorities. Timesheets provide a visual representation of where time is spent, allowing individuals to see if they are dedicating sufficient time to high-priority tasks. This insight enables better decision-making when it comes to task prioritization and resource allocation.
Achieving Balance
Work-life balance is essential for overall well-being and productivity. Timesheets help individuals assess whether they are overworking, underworking, or maintaining a healthy balance. Recognizing imbalances early on can prevent burnout and support long-term productivity.
Accountability and Focus
Timesheets foster accountability. When individuals know they are tracking their time, they are more likely to stay focused and productive. The awareness of being accountable for their time encourages them to minimize distractions and stay on task.
Data-Driven Decision-Making
Timesheets provide valuable data that can be leveraged for data-driven decision-making. By analyzing timesheet data, individuals and organizations can identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. This data-driven approach helps refine workflows, optimize processes, and adapt to changing work environments.
Accurate Billing and Client Management
For businesses, accurate billing is essential for revenue generation. Timesheets offer a detailed record of the time spent on client projects, ensuring that clients are billed correctly for the services provided. This accuracy builds trust and credibility in client relationships.
Project Management and Resource Allocation
Timesheets are a vital tool in project management and resource allocation. Project managers can use timesheet data to monitor progress, identify potential delays, and allocate resources effectively. This ensures that projects stay on track and within budget.
Remote Work and Flexibility
The rise of remote work and flexible schedules has made timesheets even more relevant. With employees working from various locations and time zones, tracking work hours and tasks becomes crucial. Timesheets provide a standardized method for remote employees to log their work, enabling managers to monitor productivity and maintain work-from-home arrangements effectively.
Continuous Improvement
Timesheets facilitate a culture of continuous improvement. Organizations can analyze timesheet data to identify patterns, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. This data-driven approach helps businesses refine their processes, enhance productivity, and adapt to changing work environments.
Choosing the Right Timesheet Solution
To unlock the full power of timesheets in time management, it's essential to choose the right timesheet solution. Modern timesheet software offers a range of features, including automated time tracking, project tracking, reporting, and integration with other productivity tools. These digital timesheet solutions streamline the time tracking process and provide real-time visibility into time allocation.
Conclusion
Timesheets are not just a relic of the past; they are a timeless tool for unlocking efficiency and optimizing time management. Whether used by individuals or organizations, timesheets provide valuable insights into time allocation, prioritize tasks, and support data-driven decision-making. Embracing modern timesheet solutions can significantly enhance their utility in today's dynamic work environments, ultimately leading to increased productivity and success in the workplace.

Ngl I am actually That Karen irt to poor customer service lmao like I’ve worked long enough in retail to know when some sales assistant is deliberately wasting my time. Bc I was always that person that carried the workplace, so I naturally had a swarm of these time wasters constantly sapping my energy and being negative and borderline bullying me and expecting me to just do their job for them with a smile anyway. I’ve seen the same behavioural issues turned on other select colleagues and customers (usually females), you know just anyone who looked like they wouldn’t call that shit out because they’re ‘too nice’ or whatever. So whenever some check-out bitch wants to give me shit these days, I have NO sympathy. Like, I know you ain’t had no bad day or whatever. I know if I was working the next check-out I’d be that nice girl you’d be beating down with this same attitude all day everyday. I know %99 of retail workers ain’t shit. Because I had to run in that world and suffer this bullshit for my paycheck. Customers were rarely a problem for me, but people on my pay grade? They gave me problems from when I signed in to when I resigned. So hell yeah, if you can’t scan my discount card, I’m gonna cause you trouble. You can’t process this refund, you gonna process a law suit instead. You look at me sideways I’ll make this bad fucking day for you. Try me, I ain't a 'just go check out the back' type o Karen, I know the specific ins and outs of making this job a living hell for you and I'm only so happy to in fact do that. The worst thing about working in retail wasn’t the boring routine, wasn’t the customers, wasn’t even the low pay (although that did in fact suck), the worst thing about retail for me was the miserable parasites I had to work with in every single job I’ve ever had. I’m so much happier working remotely, like you cannot even believe. So I guess this is just a story of ‘you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain’ lmao
#shitposting#but rly I actually hate all retail workers#just my experiences tho#they start acting right I might stop hatin em you know#lmao#anyway

Quality of Life @ Work - Part 1: The Meetings

Let’s start with some stats: [1]
1. Average middle manager spends 35% of their time in meetings. For those higher up in the corporate ladder its upto 50%
2. A whopping 37% of meetings are considered to be adding no value to the organisation
3. 91% of employees have daydreamed during a meeting, 39% have reported sleeping during a meeting, 45% have felt overwhelmed by the number of meetings they had to attend, 73% have done other work during a meeting, and 47% of employees have complained that meetings are the number one time waster at the workplace.
4. To find the monetary cost of an hour-long meeting, estimate the average hourly rate of each of the attendees and multiply it by the number of attendees. For instance, if the average hourly rate of the attendees in a meeting is $50 and there are fifteen attendees, that means that the cost of the meeting to the organisation is about $750.
5. Using company in our example above, it would mean that the cost of the weekly executive meeting is $350,000, without taking into account the subordinates who spend their time preparing for and supporting the meeting.
6. The top reason people selected as the best way to get them excited about attending a meeting is for it to be well-planned (64%). The exception to this is for younger generations (18-29 year olds) who said it was a free lunch (71%).
While these stats were published during 2019 when we had a supposedly “normal” world, things have changed post-pandemic. Most of us now meet in a virtual world. The world where a casual hallway conversation is yet another virtual *meeting*. Virtual fatigue is real and is here to stay.
What can we do to combat this situation? Here are few points I feel would improve the situation.
1. Think twice before clicking on that “New Meeting” button. Ask yourself. Is this meeting really required or can you do away with a one pager document or an email ? Most of the times an email would suffice.
2. Break between meetings [2] All/Most of the meetings are virtual meetings given the current situation. Let’s try to schedule meetings incorporating breaks. One way of doing this is; always start any meeting at the 0th hour but schedule for 25 mins (instead of 30) or 50 mins(instead of 1 full hour).
3. Start/Stop on time Simple. Expect folks to be punctual. Start the meeting on time and end it on time. Period.
4. Focussed group Do you really need all of the participants mentioned in the invite for the meeting or can you do away with a focussed group who are appropriate for the discussion. I would like to clarify that, being silent in a meeting does not mean he is inappropriate for the meeting.
5. Agenda is everything Do not accept a meeting without an agenda. Agenda helps in being prepared for the meeting. Agenda with timelines helps in ensuring the meetings are effective and abides by the schedule of the meeting.
6. Why not a phone call? As discussed earlier, the notion of virtual meetings being “yet” another meeting, the meeting tools has set an uneasy image in our minds. Why not try a casual phone call for a 1-1 meeting with your manager or team mate? Phone calls are casual whereas virtual meetings are formal. At least that is the notion for most of us. :)
I must admit that most of the above points are not easy to implement. I am in the process of getting close to it but a long way to go.
I am curious to hear from all of you, what more can we do to better our meeting times and in-turn improve our Quality of Life @ Work.
