Writing Tip #4

It was a while I did one of these :)

I remembered a tip I saw once that I honestly wish I could look back to more when I feel unmotivated to write 🥲

"You cannot edit a blank page, but you can edit a bad one."

It doesn't matter if your draft is bad, or generic, or soulless, or just doesn't feel right. At least you'll have something written down, something you can always change later.

So go forth! Grab your pen or keyboard. And write something.💜

I started rereading that story.

One that makes me cry and feel like throwing up because of how messed up it is.

So naturally, I’m sharing a scene.

Because if I have to suffer, you do too.

The floor beneath him tilted ever so slightly.

Or maybe that was just the blood rushing to his head.

He paused.

If he fell, no one would hear him.

No one would come.

But then again... hadn't it always been like this?

For months, he'd walked the edge of something dark and deep with no one at his side. He'd told no one. Had screamed into silence and swallowed his pride along with too many pills, too many hopes.

There had been nights he forgot what his own voice sounded like. Days when he was sure his legs wouldn't work again.

So why stop now?

Not sure if I’ll ever actually publish it tho… we’ll see.

I’d like to recommend googling your characters full names to see what comes up. Sometimes you get boring results, sometimes you get weird shit, sometimes you find out theres already a character named that, or sometimes you could find out that’s already a pornstar’s name*

*(That last one is from experience. To their credit, it is a catchy name. Safe to say I changed the spelling lol)

🔮 Interests & Hobbies I’m into pretty much everything that gets my brain tinkering. Aside from the above hyperfixations, Hetalia was my first true fandom (showing my age here), and I love all things supernatural (Big SPN fan 🚗💨🔥). Mythology has a hold on me right now (Epic the Musical and Hades are currently plaguing my brain). When I’m not nerding out over that, I have a special interest in neurodiversity—why people do what they do—and I enjoy playing video games, seeing musicals, a good group sesh at bottomless brunch, reading, D&D, and listening to music way too loud (you know, when I’m not being an “adult” and doing adult things like working).

💀 Writing Style & Themes I thrive on angst, fluff, and characters who make questionable life choices. Anything that pushes the feels to the max, good or bad. I love exploring emotional complexities and struggles. Expect emotional damage, tangled relationships, and an abundance of subtext. 📚 Neurospicy Vibes Currently rocking the ADHD-late diagnosis™ life, but I’m also pretty sure there’s some ASD/dyslexia lurking in the mix. It’s one of those things where you finally get diagnosed and suddenly everything makes way more sense—you get closure, you feel vindicated—but then you start piecing everything else together, and uh… it’s a lot. But hey, as an adult woman, I’m just supposed to “cope” because you’re fine—ha, sure. Anyway, my brain thrives on a delicate balance of structure, spontaneity, and, honestly, without spell check, all my writing would be illegible. 💀

💌 Writing Woes & Progress Progress is progress—no matter how small. I’m currently fighting executive dysfunction but doing my best to finish what I start. Writing a magical bond that may make readers think "soulmates", but plot twist, it's not. Okay, so it's not really a plot twist. But it is a lot of almost ending the realms magical backlash. And drama, so much drama. And how the heck are they still having trust problems when they can literally... *sings* spoilers! Sorry. I don't know when to stop babbling, as I'm sure you've noticed. XD
