I liked Fromis_9's Love bomb, but i'm not a big fan of their other stuff. I might stan if they release something I like. I'm not into Gfriend's music : / but i really like them as a group because of their dorkiness. I also like Khan and WSJN is so-so for me. I don't like all of their songs, but I do like some. I thought about stanning them and I might in the future - skz anon

That’s ok! I’m picky with my girl groups too so it’s okay it took me a while before I even liked gfriend’s sound. Like idk why but it took literal months before I even wanted to stan, but now I stan them and I love them a lot. I’m excited to see what Khan will do in the future though like they were my favorite girl group debut last year. KHAN FIGHTING!~

i'm not sure if i remember correctly but are you indian? if so, what are your thoughts on g-idle wearing mehndi and doing what looks like bollywood dances in their music video?

I am Indian! And tbh, I did see some people getting into this on stan twt, but personally I don’t think it’s necessarily appropriation. Mehendi is something that has evolved to a decoration thing, even in India, like I wasn’t raised with the idea that it was somehow significant or held any deep meaning. I think it’s okay for them to have put mehendi on their hands, they used it for it’s decorative meaning and that’s okay, I think. 

The bollywood dance thing, uhh, I’m also confused about that one. The one that I find super iffy, is the one where they press their hands together and move it around in the chorus. I can see it as just a hand movement, but also the context with the mehendi and stuff make it a bit iffy. I don’t see it as a direct offense or straight up appropriation? But I feel like it does have bits of appropriation and it  does kinda annoy me. They do have other hand movements that make me go like, yanno, did they like use Indian classical dance movements or is it just delicate movements? It’s confusing.

I think they’re not outright appropriating so I wouldn’t write them off already, but SK has never been very sensitive to cultures and I can see how others may find it really offensive. But this video and choreo on it’s own is not too bad, in my opinion. Like I don’t think they’re mocking or outright appropriating, but I guess it’s just how you perceive it, and honestly, what they do next.
