i was really looking forward to the S3 artbook giving us SOMETHING about fuzzy ooze or filling in any of the numerous gaps in ROTM's story. cannot begin to express how disappointed i was when i opened up the artbook to find that THIS was the only page on fuzzy octarians

the blurb on the top can be boiled down to "why are octavio's troops in alterna? wow theyre fuzzy. do they even have any ego left?" like ok that's just. basic observations and things that were mentioned in promo materials. and we cant say this is like out of spoiler avoidance because the previous page has (also very little) concepts for hugefry and grizz. go girl give us nothing! In terms of dev interviews, the april 2023 famitsu interview has 2 questions regarding fuzzy octos:

----Was it the effects of the fuzzy ooze that caused the Octarians in Alterna to grow hair? Inoue: under the effects of the fuzzy ooze, they're on the verge of becoming mammals.  ----In the case of the new Agent 3, when they come into contact with the ooze they suddenly grow hair. Are the Octarians supposed to be in the middle stage? Inoue: That’s right.

Within less than a year of Octo expansion's release, we got a few dev interviews and a whole artbook giving further clarification on sanitization, tartar's motives, the octarians in the metro...even though some elements were unclear until side order and some responses were dodgy, there still was something to work with and some gaps filled.

in the two years since ROTM we got uh. the one dev interview, which, while that did explain a few things with alterna and smallfry, gave us Nothing about fuzzification or mammalization. whatever it's called. aside from those 2 answers above. is the process reversible? how did grizz get all those troops? why is there an octoplush track that uses dedf1sh's naming scheme? oh yeah, and literally nothing about ORCA or any expansion on grizz's character in ROTM. ORCA goes completely unmentioned in the artbook. hello. im getting side tracked.

and before we couldve gotten another chance for answers on ROTM, side order came out, and all focus in terms of splatoon's story got directed towards that.

I will be genuinely surprised if bancalawalker gives us anything on ROTM since that's seems to be the side order/later update artbook my only hope is that, since there's some suspicious things unanswered for about lil judd and grizzco, maybe, hard maybe, the fuzzy octarians could be addressed in any capacity again, like how side order expanded on OE? But idk it seemed like ROTM was a way to just wrap up the squidbeak saga and they could just Not mention it again lol. one last thing. these amped octostamps, an enemy introduced in rotm, have full 3d renders. notice a uh. lack of fur.

or another wacky thing. is how the only artwork we have of an octarian (non octoling) in the tableturf style is a normal non fuzzy octotrooper.

my Game Theory is that. i think rotm had some... late in development decisions in terms of story direction, with the fuzzy octarians being one of those later decisions.

1. garrick: now i can’t exactly disprove this bcs the only reason i dont think its garrick is because theres more evidence for it being bodhi but yes during imogen’s pov he is described as tired and also says himself that he doesn’t have enough power which would lead one to believe that he could be it but i dont think theres enough proof.

2. aaric: um i dont know why people think this, him and xaden were never close enough that xaden would feel this betrayed and heartbroken by him turning venin and idk i just feel like its a dead end

mention of an unconscious dragon in xaden’s pov —> in imogen’s pov she mentions seeing bodhi’s dragon having a hole in his right wing

bodhi is in a constant state of “i dont want to rule tyrrendor, im gonna fight with you, you cant stop me” they even get into an argument in Aretia (i think?) about it. he just wants to support and help xaden with whatever he does. i remember seeing in an interview when someone asked RY what drinks the fw characters would get and she said that xaden would get a beer and bodhi would get a beer because xaden got one which further proves my point. so him turning venin just to not be alone and be with and help xaden doesnt seem too far fetched to me

after bodhi got sent away by violet bcs he wasnt strong enough to counter theophanies storm signet in chapter 64 the tornado theophanie sent out suddenly dies and violet assumes she stopped it so that she made it harder for her to wield. i think bodhi channeled at that moment making him powerful enough to counter theophanie’s signet and clear up the sky. hes also seen retching towards the end of chapter 63 could be the overwhelming power after channeling for the first time

also wouldn’t bodhi just be made duke after xaden leaves if he was completely fine? why would xaden go through whole process of getting married to violet during a battle unless he absolutely had to (bodhi also turned venin).

Some fanarts to bring attention to the long post about the books!

Yesterday i had finished the httyd books re-reading (it's been A MONTH), and today i watched the httyd movie for like the 30th time idk (i was really keen of it as a child)

Friendship with movie Hiccup ended, now Tuffnut and Ruffnut are my best friends. They are iconic. I remember book!Tuffnut being kinda sorta a background character, like somebody amongst the Hooligan tribe. And that's the move i liked about the dreamworks version, heh

Yeah, i loved movie Hiccup and associated myself with him very much... But now, after i reread the books, refreshed my memory about The Ending (and cried my eyes out), i found the movie rather.. strange? It leaves a lotta questions, like the world building, Astrid's behaviour, poor stylistic choise of making her as skinny and wimp as Hiccup, and Stoic s attitude towards his son, like.. stop??? He is an awful warrior ok but plz quit telling everyone around how much you are ashamed of him. Plus i miss Alvin as the main antagonist. He was one of a kind, never saw anyone so persistent to living and killing your distance nephew. And i miss Fishlegs No name as he was so cute and sarcastic. Movie Fishlegs is rather cliched

Weeeeell this whole post exists just bc i love book Hiccup sm AND THE WHOLE STORY AND I LOVE THE FIRST HICCUP AND THE SECOND AND I LOVE FURIOUS AND HIS STORY AND I LOVE FISHLEGS STORY AND DEADLY SHADOW AND I ADMIRE VALHALLARAMA AND CAMICAZI AND CHINHILDA AND TANTRUM and i miss them and i want to share my love for the books with everyone around... But amongst all my friends i don't have somebody who would've read the YA fantasy book about a 10-15 yo viking boy and his tiny arrogant dragon, and i would not either if i had not became a fan at my 12-13s by absolute chance. This is insane. I love my fixations (that's the whole point of fixating) but it hurts that I can't share it, and even if i try to explain to one of my friends who are ready to listen, I can't tell why exactly would i cry for half an hour about the children's book ending where OMG the dragon died, no waaay

I really wish it were a cartoon series based on books specifically, bc that way i could show them to my friends, which is waaaay easier than making them read the books (which is impossible, i tried). But ig.... It would stay a wish forever

I wanted to tell something about the books again. Why i like them so much? But i get too emotional about them and can't muster up ANYTHING. What CAN i say??? They are good. They are perfect. Cressida Cowell made a great job. The slightest gradient between the first and the last book makes the neighbour books in the series feel alike, but the first and the last are nothing like the other. The first is really a cute local story. WHILE THE LAST IS ABOUT CHANGING THE WORLD AND WHOLE NATION. This is incredible

Myself, i like the first 4 or 6 books more. They are so funny! I read them just for fun. But when i do, i just cant stop. And as i proceed further, the world changes, and the Fate follows the main character with a knife of misfortune (i wish i could play with English words as i do in my native language lol) - or good luck! Who knows, when you survived so many terrible moments, are you extra lucky or the exact opposite?

The first books don't even have in them the main thought of the last - dragon slavery. Or do they? Now, when i think of it, i do recognise the abuse and unappropriate attitude towards dragons, like foreshadowing... It's hard to tell if Cressida planned it all from the beginning or expanded the world as the books went further and further. Anyway, the first book os nothing like the last. The last is insane

I hate the book series endings almost every time, but not in that case. No. No. No. This one is solid perfection. It is logical. It is mature. And most importantly, it is painfully realistic. That's what broke me. The realism of the ending, where the magical creatures have to vanish from the human world just to save themselves. It is common for books like that to end with death of all magical (like it dies when we grow up, blablabla and so on) and it is the story of maturing, but that is not all. It matches with our world, where all living things die away and vanish eventually, if they are not significant for human race survival... But in our case they will never ever return from some North fields or sea hollow. Abused animals have neither intelligence to speak for themselves nor some kind guy to save them. Theme of war and death is extremely actual rn too. And i was devastated when the peace was established and shortly after that Furious died 🤪🤪 amazing, thank you. It killed me when he said that he was dead for all these years, and lived again only after Hiccup III spoke to him and returned him to his right mind

I remembered now that it supposed to be a post bout the movie I've just watched. Well. The movie's best part is that it brought my mother's attention to the book series,, i was obsessed with the movie therefore she gifted me the books, and i became so obsessed with them that she even yelled at me for rereading them so frequently, lol

I can't say anything about the movie. I have no thoughts. I guess i just re watched it too many times as a kid to feel anything anymore. It didn't work with the books though. Reading them again 6-7 years later the latest reread, as an adult, i figured out that they aged extremely well. I found inspiration in them. I'm lost in thoughts about them. I want them to be more popular and well-known. And i hate fucking live action movie btw if you even care 😘💅 not to think about all of the resources that could ve been put in use to make cartoonish HTTYD books real

Upd.: this one is obvious but I loveeeee the trope. When Hiccup went on the impossible journey of Training His Dragon Toothless, he learned how to deal with arrogant, whining, lazy people. He learned how to be a a leader who listens to his followers, a teacher, a mentor to all the crazy arrogant and wild viking nation, and that is why the title of the book focuses on Training your dragon

chapter 17 notes (finally)

Episode 1

MY GYATALICIOUS GOAT BENKEI IS THERE!! My favorite staff me ever since he’s so whimsical and silliness. Also because he’s more obvious with the dark wick lore, JUST LIKE NOW. So, based on Benkei’s assumption that Elias and MC were friends AND that he was suprised to here that Elias is working, it almost confirms that Elias is supposed to be around MC’s age, aka, a student. HOWEVER, what bothers me is that BENKEI, AN EMPLOYEE, doesn’t even know that Elias is working. Shouldn’t they all know each other? This could mean that there’s some sort of class system on what information goes to which teacher. This would further prove my point since the cats tend to treat different staff differently. They treat the teachers like coworkers while employees such as Benkei as lower class, as shown by the cat literally scolding Benkei for almost slipping up to mc. A bit of a stretch, but I like it so. 

Episode 2

I don’t like the conversation going on between Moby and the Chancellor right now…Especially since they are so discreet about EVERYTHING they say, even in private. There’s a clear teamwork between Moby, Hyde, and the Chancellor right now, and honestly, it makes me a little less suspicious of other teachers such as Dante (My goat) and Nicolaus (URGH.) but I digress. First, I want to point out power dynamics between the chancellor and Moby. Obviously, employer and employee, but it’s more than that. What type of authority does Cornelius have over all these other beings other than the fact that he has a say whether to lock them up or not? Appearance wise, he doesn’t have anything to prevent a revolution of anomalies against him. So why does HE specifically have authority. Is it a power he yields? Connections? Money? Or is this a representative situation? He acts as a placeholder for the real power in this specific branch and then notifies the bigger power on a situation in order to get a decree? I’ve been wondering this since episode 1 and still, there’s no story YET that connects to Cornelius’ role in dark wick as a whole. Next, these lines specifically between Moby and Cornelius, before they realized MC walked in:

“It only happened because Professor Hyde didn’t explain things properly when he dumped THIS on me?” -Moby

“How could I be expected to know that he STILL had the intellect to OPEN THE GATE by himself?” -Moby

ARE THEY HOLDING SOMEONE CAPTIVE BRO??? LIKE NOT AN ANOMALY BUT A PERSON?? Maybe it is an anomaly though idk. A fox?? Chat search up Japanese fox legends maybe that’ll help. Also… I suspect it’s a person because they say “intellect” to “open THE gate”. I know anomalies can be hella smart, but I just love how much darker it WOUKD be that they would brainwash someone to lose cognitive skills to keep them captive. Also, it’s not A gate, like a regular old gate and lock, but THE gate. What makes this gate special? Or Am I just dumb and they’re just mentioning the fox’s gate? And this isn’t something Moby was supposed to do, but Hyde. I hate this guy so much, and he’s on so many BUSINESS TRIPS. Is this why he needs Romeo wrapped around his finger and Sho too? YALL CANT FORGET SHO IS A PART OF THIS TOO. Finally, let’s look at what Cornelius said about someone finding HE. This one I was a little confused with because HE can be either Hyde, which means Cornelius needs Hyde’s business trips for his plan, or the fox, which means the fox is a big disruptive force against Cornelius. If it is the fox, why refer to it as HE?? HE would imply that, yeah, this thing is a person, or at least humanoid wouldn’t it? Now, CERTAIN SOMEONE. This concerns me. If HE is Hyde, this wouldn’t really make sense right? I would assume his business trips would be shady to anyone other than the staff, so maybe that rules him out. If HE is the fox, this makes more sense. Still, why a specific person? If they were exposed to said fox, what would happen? Perhaps memories coming back?? (Cough cough Jiro, Taiga, Dante). Sighs. Idk this is so vague to debunk (hehe get it)

I guess it’s not surprising they have connections to the entertainment industry to get us in but like… why THESE GHOULS. CHANCELLOR SAID THAT THEY WERE “hand-picked” SO WHY THEM???

So proud of her for speaking her mind just hate these bitches for pushing it down like it’s nothing. I know what he means is different but there’s always an undertone when they speak “Can’t exactly find your cure without our help now can you? So, just listen to us and follow our lead” yikes.

Star festival? No SHUT THE HELL UP CORNIEUS IM TRYNA LEARN. I want to know if this is a “make a wish upon a star” situation, a gamble even. Moby says the curse could be ——- by the star festival? Does he mean “it can end by the star festival” or “you could use the star festival to end your curse”. Huh.

Yk, now that I think about it, Benkei acts a LOT like Lyca, and I think that’s why I like them so much. What I mean by that is they both act like clueless little smurfs navigating through the human world and they’re still trying to learn and improve. That’s by thing though, Why does Benkei act like that? Is that why he’s a grocer and not a teacher? Is he an anomaly? Honestly, don’t care, he’s still my goat.

So basically, yada yada yada something about a woman wanting to direct the show of Waves of Love but couldn’t cause she died so now she’s haunting the sets. But that still doesn’t explain why people are going missing. If it really was her ghost, wouldn’t she try helping the missing people so that they can continue shooting? Or is it that she’s taking them because we’re following a script and she wants SINCERE love and not bogus? If it is the first option, is this a clear protagonist (ghost lady) vs. antagonist (I assume man that appeared in Episode 1) situation? 

Also, the pearl in the first set went unscathed and just left EVEN THOUGH we saw a cutscene of a woman (I assume is the pearl fue to her swimsuit) getting “attacked” with a guy. Huh.

Yeah it sucks that it has that sort of limit, cause then it’s just useless isn’t it? Wouldn’t you want that artifact most in these types of situations? I agree with Edward (for once) because it does , I guess, SEEM like Darkwick just gives them “bonuses” or “tools” that barely serve them any purpose. Doesn’t allow for them to do too much I guess.

“Seems pretty likely  that the anomaly is the ghost of the original producer and the cause of all this” (Jiro)

“Gotcha. If attacking us physically would use up all her power or if it’s already getting chewed up maintaining that barrier, that’d make sense” (Haru)

“She may only be able to use her full power here, on this island of Love” (Edward) 

“Right, ghosts are way more stable if they use a place or object they’re attached to as a medium” (Rui) 

Ok so I agree… with most of this so far. It would make sense since the ghost’s motive is to continue filming Waves of Love, so I that’s why she’s staying. First problem I have with the conversation is why assume she would attack us physically? Because she’s a ghost? That wouldn’t go with her goal to film Waves to Love to begin with since she wants the group to keep filming. Secondly, I have a bit of a problem with what Edward and Rui said. First off, isn’t this a different island than where they were originally filming at? ( I swear I’m not crazy) That either means she wasn’t connected to the missing people at all and they discovered a new anomaly, or two, she’s not connected to the island, but rather, the crew. If it IS the original sight, then I guess what Rui and Edward says fits. 

I hate Edward. I HATE THIS OLD WRINKLY SMELLY BAG OF FLESH I HATE HIM I HATE HIMMMMM. WHY’D YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT AWKWARD???? THIS ISN’T NICE. “You and the man you choose can leave this island” URGHHHHH. I’m automatically picking Haru, the only one I’ll feel tbad for are my boys Jin, Jiro, and Rui…

Well duh, I had to choose somebody. I was js gonna choose the worst contestant for shock value. Now what … 😔. I’m hoping you’re right Rui!! Trust there’s always another way!! See, we finally agree Ren! Irl, I probably wouldn’t date… NONE of these guys. Not that they’re not great, I js don’t like dating. Lmao “Really?” was probably just because he was curious I guess.

OK NEW TERMS: 

Neutral, Sympathizers, and Dissidents

Ed and Rui being neutral… doesn’t surprise me. They’re at a risk if they help either side. Well, in Ed’s case, it’s more entertaining to be a viewer than a participant. 

FROSTHEIM BEING SYMPATHIZERS, which I assume means on Darkwick’s side, IS NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND.  It would make sense for the general students to be on darkwick’s side since most of them are rich. Not only that BUT THEY LED IT?? I doubt Yuri and Jin were a part of their group though, them being ghouls and all. Guess that’s another reason Yuri detests Frostheim. This just makes the relationship between Yuri and Jin sadder :(. 

Dissidents was Montkraken, which is one of the obvious ones. Yuri was probably a radical in Frostheim’s system and practically exiled. STOP THE ANGST I CAN IMAGINE BETWEEN YURI AND JIN YAYAYAY :D!!! 

“I’m a pacifist now, Jin” (Haru) Now? I mean, I assumed he was somewhat involved in the clash because of his arm… but still… Can anyone remind me if they ever said Jabberwock was a new dorm? If they didn’t mention it or they did say it, either way, we practically confirmed that Haru was from a different dorm from the last chapter, so it kinda has to be unless Towa was the only person in that dorm. Towa is… interesting. I want to believe he’s an anomaly and a ghoul, if that makes sense. Anyways, back to Haru. Haru is interesting as well. He has good ish relations with Romeo and Rui, which one is neutral… and the other? CHAT WAS IT CONFIRMED THAT ROMEO TRANSFERRED? Cause if he was in Frostheim first, then that would mean he was a sympathizer, which would explain most of his connections, especially with his trust towards Hyde. So would that mean Haru was also a sympathizer? Was he promised Jabberwock, and maybe, Towa’s freedom, cause Darkwick HAD to have offered at least several deals to get more people on their side. WAIT I FORGOT. HARU IS CLOSE FRIENDS WITH TAIGA TOO. SO ITS NOT JS ROMEO, ITS SINOSTRA. So that doesn’t necessarily mean that Haru is a sympathizer, but is more likely to be on the same sides as Sinostra was. I’ll check back in that. I’ll add on more of them later, but I want to move on. Sorry I went on a whole tangent based on one line whoops.

Edward mentions that “THAT anomaly” shouldn’t be there, meaning it’s an anomalous world, but not common for Kyklos? Does this signify anything about what Ed said on anomalies taking over and ruling over humans? I’m so confused 😭😭

A haunted mind

I sat down next to Kirk on the couch, trying to act like everything was fine, but my mind was already spiraling. He grinned at me, patting the seat beside him, clearly excited for the horror movie we had planned. But my stomach twisted with anxiety. The room was dim, the TV screen casting eerie shadows on the walls, and it felt like the shadows were growing, closing in.

He clicked play, and the opening credits rolled across the screen, the chilling music creeping into my mind. It wasn’t the movie itself that had me on edge—it was everything else. The house felt too quiet, the kind of silence that makes you aware of every little creak and groan the walls make. I kept glancing at the windows, at the hallway, at the dark corners of the room. Every inch felt too still, too empty, like something—or someone—was lurking just out of sight.

I swallowed hard, but the lump in my throat wouldn’t go away. “I think I’ll go get a drink,” I said, standing up too quickly. My heart was racing, but I didn’t want to stay here, not with all those thoughts crowding in. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen if I stayed too still for too long.

Kirk gave me a strange look. “Are you okay?”

I nodded, trying to force a smile, though it felt more like a grimace. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just thirsty.”

He didn’t seem convinced but didn’t stop me. As I walked to the kitchen, the house felt even larger in the silence. Every creak of the floorboards under my feet felt like a warning. The kitchen light was too bright, making the shadows even darker once I stepped into the living room again. The door was closed, the window was shut, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something—someone—was watching me from the other side of that glass. My chest tightened, and I quickly turned my back to the window.

I had to get away. I had to get back to Kirk. But every time I stepped further into the house, the air felt heavier. Every reflection in the windows, every shadow seemed to grow bigger, and the thought of being alone in the dark hallway made my skin crawl. My mind wouldn’t stop. What if someone was out there, just waiting for me to turn my back? What if they were already inside, watching from the shadows?

I turned back toward the living room, trying to calm my breathing, but it was hard. My hands were shaking as I grabbed a glass and filled it with water, even though I wasn’t thirsty. I just needed something to hold, something to keep my hands busy.

And then Kirk was standing in the doorway of the kitchen, watching me. His brow furrowed. “Hey, everything okay?”

I froze, my heart skipping a beat. My breath caught in my throat. I didn’t know how to explain what was happening in my head. The racing thoughts. The panic. The way the windows seemed to be closing in on me.

“Yeah,” I forced out, though it didn’t feel real. “I’m fine.”

But the way he looked at me told me he didn’t believe it. “No, you’re not. What’s going on?”

I sighed, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes. “I—I just… I don’t think I can watch this.” I gestured to the living room, but I couldn’t make myself meet his eyes. “I can’t. I keep thinking someone’s going to break in, or that… that something’s watching us from outside the window, or…”

I trailed off, unable to put the rest of it into words. It felt so stupid. It felt so insane—but it was there, pressing down on my chest, a constant weight.

Kirk took a few steps toward me, his voice soft but firm. “Hey, it’s okay. You’re safe. No one’s breaking in. No one’s out there.”

But even his words didn’t feel like enough to chase the shadows away. “I can’t even go to the bathroom alone,” I whispered, my voice cracking. “I just feel like… like if I turn my back for a second, something’s going to happen.”

Kirk’s eyes softened, and before I knew it, he was pulling me into his arms. I buried my face in his chest, my breath shaky. “You’re not alone,” he said, his voice calm and steady, as though trying to anchor me to the present. “I’m right here. No one’s getting in.”

I felt his arms tighten around me, and for a moment, the racing thoughts slowed down. He pulled back slightly, just enough to look at me. “We don’t have to watch the movie. You don’t have to be alone in this. Let’s just hang out, okay?”

I nodded, still feeling fragile but somehow lighter with him there, with him reassuring me. “But the movie…” I hesitated.

“Forget the movie,” he said gently. “Your peace of mind matters more. We’ll turn on the lights, close the windows, lock the door. We’ll be safe, together.”

A breath I didn’t realize I was holding escaped me, and I allowed myself to relax, just a little. He wasn’t going anywhere. We didn’t need the movie to have a good night. “Okay,” I whispered. “Okay. Just… stay with me.”

“Always,” he replied, his arms pulling me closer as we sat back down on the couch. The TV sat idle, no movie playing, but it didn’t matter. I wasn’t alone. Not anymore.

But even as we sat together in the quiet, the fear didn’t fully disappear. It was like a shadow that followed me, lingering just beyond the edges of my mind, always there, just waiting to slip back in. But in that moment, with Kirk beside me, I felt something stronger than the fear. His warmth. His reassurance. The knowledge that no matter what, I didn’t have to face it alone.

I leaned into him, letting the silence comfort me. “Thank you,” I whispered. “For staying. For understanding.”

He kissed the top of my head softly. “There’s nothing to thank me for. I’m here, and I always will be.”

And for the first time that night, I allowed myself to believe him.

Sanders Sides theory (rant). I know im mainly a mh acc here but I have thoughts i need to get out there

(just fyi this theory is Roman centric, I know most TSS people nowadays are talking ab Orange and Logan so if Roman's not interesting then continue on 🔥🔥)

Okay so. I was scrolling through Sanders Sides theories and found that no one seems to have this theory, even though I thought the Roman angst enjoyers like me would be writing this all over the place but. Ig that means I need to talk about it.

I've had this theory for years now, since the day I first watched SVS Redux.

I think Roman is going to duck out.

I dont know if I have to explain why but. I mean, just looking at the explosive end SVS Redux had will tell you a lot.

He doesn't belive Patton when he tells him they love him. He thinks Thomas has lost all faith in him in favor of the person Roman views as the epitome of evil. He's been switching views left and right to stay on Patton's side (because Thomas prides himself on his morals), but he always ends up doing something wrong - he always ends up as an antagonist. He no longer believes that he is the one thing that being has kept him stable since "Am I Original?" - Thomas' hero. The only side he has a stable and positive relationship with is VIRGIL of all people. And tbh that could quickly be ruined too. Logan is second, though, but that's EXTREMELY fragile, as we've seen.

Roman always does something wrong and it will and has sent him over the edge. From Roman's perspective, with a very flawed view of everyone around him, he is inherently the thing that flaws Thomas.

+ Roman is really dramatic obviously, so ofc he would do this.

When you look at Virgil's reasonings for ducking out, it seems plausible after everything Roman has gone through recently, too. I mean like:

"I quit. Decided it wasn't worth it anymore"

Why would Roman keep fighting a battle he knows he will never win?

"Well, It didn’t seemed like I was wanted. You all made that pretty clear any time I showed up."

Again, from Roman's perspective, he is constantly and consistently antagonized.

"If I wanted to stand around being insulted, I would've shown up I would've shown up in person like I usually do."

Roman fears that he is becoming the villain (as we see in SVS, SVS Redux and DWIT).

Anyway, I think the episode where Roman does this will be centered around depression. Without Roman, Thomas is depressed. Let me explain this further.

Roman is Thomas' creativity, imagination, ego, passion, love, wills and wants, hopes and dreams, aspirations and enthusiasm.

Without any of that, what is left? A guy who can't even will himself out of bed, but can still feel the nagging voice of reason and logic telling him how unreasonable he's being. A guy who cant will himself to talk to friends, family and loved ones, but can still feel sorrow for letting them down and worrying them. A guy who can't will himself to pursue creative content that he relies on for a living but can still feel anxious about letting millions of people down and never being able to create again. Furthermore, I think the sides might be SEVERELY impacted.

It has been said many times over the series that the sides are purely figments of Thomas' IMAGINATION. so. Without Roman, I doubt anything would be left. Obviously, if Roman does duck out, I don’t think they'd all immediately just cease to exist because an episode still needs to occur, but I find it likely that they'd all start slowly fading or maybe even "malfunctioning", glitching, putting them on a timer to get back Roman and making it far more tense.

Is this theory weird?????? I feel like it's the natural progression TO ME but I've seen no one even getting near this and im just confused ghfhfhfh. Maybe it is kind of weird and im just too much of a Roman enthusiast. SORRY I LOVE ANNOYING WEIRDO FREAKS!!!! AND IF I WAS HIM ID DUCK OUT TOO BECAUSE NO ONE IS APPRECIATING HIM ☹️☹️☹️ EVEN THOUGH HE'S LITERALLY WHAT MAKES THOMAS DO THINGS. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

The only difference in these two is obviously that Virgil just silently ducks out, while Roman has the entire "You make us better" speech, probably effectivly saving Virgil and Thomas, because it seems like Virgil was going to insist.

(Also another sidenote that I think everyone will agree with: WE NEED A "YOU MAKE US BETTER" SPEECH BY VIRGIL FOR ROMAN that is all)

My Thoughts on Tales of the Empire; mostly Barriss (spoilers ahead!)

Ah hello all, i have had some days or so to think since watching the show and to say it has completely wiped me of my life force would be... pretty accurate tbh. BUT I HAVE FINALLY DECIDED TO POST MY THOUGHTS. will this cover my entire though process that im sTill working through? PROBABLY NOT! my thoughts are very unorganized and very unstable! ANYWAAAAYS.

Now I just gotta say overall, the show itself definitely passed the test. To be completely honest, i wasn't really paying attention to the Morgan parts as i was the Barriss parts, since it was literally what I was looking forward to this entire time.

Though I will say that the first Morgan episode was pretty neat! it was crazy seeing that perspective of the Nightsisters again and god did they make Grievous fucking terrifying. Honestly, bravo to them, it was amazing. I diiiiid end up just.. kinda spacing out the rest of it tho unfortunately cuz i just wanted to see barriss..

Visuals 10000/10. stunning, amazing, phenomenal, gahdamn. the animation was so smooth and fluid and uGHH it was amazing throughout the entire show. Acting amazing as always. BUT GOD I CANT GET OVER HOW AMAZING THE ANIMATION WAS.

NOW.

In my opinion, they got her character pretty on the dot. I am SO glad they did. I was rlly rlly worried they were totally butcher her character and make her unrecognizable to all of us but oml they didn't completely disappoint us, she has her morals, SHES STILL A HEALER! Im so happy from that.

Now although i did enjoy it, i do have my own little complaints.

Now okay one i noticed since the trailer and has REALLY been bugging me; where are her hand tattoos??? idk i guess i just wasn't expecting them to just be gone?? they couldn't have just forgotten them.. right? I dunno, but unless someone has a genuine answer for that, imma just keep drawing them on her in the future.

Alright another thing i've been seeing ppl post about is how come she looked so old at the end? I am also confused on that and i've seen multiple theories. She should only be like 30-35 max right?? Because i'm assuming the last episode took place a the time in Rebels where the inquisitors were after the force sensitive children, and Ahsoka was around that age a the time, so why is Barriss any different?

I suppose the one i think makes the most sense is the force healing? I guess it could take a toll on her over the years causing her to look more aged, but still, i'd really prefer an explanation. Also what happened to her hair coverings?? Is that not her culture?? I dunno, again, i really need an explanation. I suppose that maybe her perspective has changed since trying to come to terms with her new life, and her ditching the coverings is a way to free herself from her past? Honestly i have no clue but i just need a lot of things answered.

That's mostly my complaints on it! I just felt things weren't explained enough but to be fair, they only gave her like 3 15-ish min episodes?? I really think they got some explaining to do. Which brings me to my next points.

I'm like... 98% sure that the "old friend" is Ahsoka that she was talking about. Who else would it be?? Like cmon. And if it is Ahsoka, why did we not get to see anything about the moment of confrontation? or at least more of a mention? I guess they wouldn't rlly wanna rush that scene, and tbh, im glad they didn't. It's not some "we talk for 5 min and everything is fine" type of situation. it'll take time. time to rebuild that trust. time to discuss. YEAH. I've heard many people state how it would be more likely and realistic to see a novelization of that and i agree. I would want it to take time, showing the build of the relationship over time, going on further into the story as we watch their strong bond mend from the trauma it's faced. I'm not saying this as a crazed Barrissoka shipper, i mean it that I would genuinely want to see how that confrontation is handled, as do many others and not just as a ship!! It's been a decade! the fans wanna know!

And my last point.

I.believe.Barriss.is.alive.

The more i rewatch it, the more i believe it. the first time around i had my doubts, but something tells me they are NOT done with her character. At least before the stabbing scene anyway. There's too much stuff that's left unanswered for it to just end that way! I dunno man, but Lyn's "i'm going to get you out of here" sounded way too determined for a "im going to move your body out of here" type of thing yk? maybe she could sense she was still alive, just barely hanging in there? I don't think they are done with Barriss Offee, and I wont think so unless we see her corpse being fucking BURIED. Not to mention the UNGODLY amount of parallels of that scene along with them exiting the cave. I've already seen so many point it out. Post-Vader and Ahsoka fight on Malachor?? Back when we all thought Ahsoka may or may not be dead?? sounds familiar hello?? Also a parallel from earlier in the show itself when Barriss saves that unnamed jedi! she HEALS them when they were going to be left there. Something tells me the same fate may happen to Barriss. Idk call me crazy but i will say it again, i don't think they are done with her story.

i do :eyes: okay disclaimer this is my insane au . and i ramble.

tldr uhhh in this au estrangeiro is less of a Being and more of a Title. and you know how it can put grubs into people and make them into different types of aliens well. WELL. the original estrangeiro we meet realizes dara is actually a perfect little mentee for the modern age. as things get more digital, its getting harder and harder to maintain a cover and estrangeiro works best in the shadows where it cant be seen.

dara is just some sweet looking girl that people don’t suspect much of. what better vessel to have heading most of the shit it has to do than that? plus she’s got a chip on her shoulder that grows worse as time goes on and her friends don’t find her. she knows as much as her mind can handle, she’s probably got a high ass paranormal exposure, and hey there’s always time to get more people into tenebris right???

so basically estrangeiro goes (“hey dont you wanna go apeshit”) into her mind while she’s in front of the door alone and sort of. i guess not Asks. but offers an alternative path for her.

work with it and secure a place in tenebris LATER. look at what happened to you. look at how people treat you. shes been treated like shit a lot (i mean shes gay and a woman and this is like the 90s and literally in the series she’s harassed by some guy) and now her friends have forgotten her, are laughing and having fun without her, and are taking their sweet time finding her again.

she feels so disconnected from everyone. you know what would fix that? tenebris :) when everyone is One, then they are all connected. no chains. no rules. no one could ignore her then. no one could forget her then. no one would be mean to her then if she just made them all one.

problem is; everyone needs to be in tenebris then.

so yeah she basically takes it up on that. because fuck that shes tired of being so far away and disconnected from everyone. confrontation in front of the door goes a little different idk how but guizo still ends up going instead.

and now dara goes around basically furthering it’s plans WITH the powers of estrangeiro. she can kinda keep it together to look human enough to go places for short periods of time, but the second she loses focus she looks more like it, paler skin, sunken green eyes, etc. she’s also still very apathetic and uncaring.

but! cool part is that she has its powers, so people forget her, she can delve into peoples minds and command them to do things, she can plant grubs in people etc. id imagine her coat looks like estrangieros in this as well, longer and more padded in the shoulder.

most of the time chico and lírio do NOT remember she even exists. sometimes she gets bored and goes to check on them, makes them remember her, and just makes them forget again. its hard to explain but i think This dara would consider that like. the best option for now. she doesn’t like herself, she doesn’t like the world, and they wanted her gone so she IS gone. for now.

tips on drawing/how you choose yours colors?

im not really good at giving tips nor explaining how i do certain things but ill try my best >:)

this is prolly gonna be a long post so... yeah (i get passionate about these things so i might add a cut here..)

for the tips part, here are some things that i followed to get better!!

try not to focus on too many things at once when you want to practice! it may be different for other people but for me it kind of burnt me out at certain points, so i like to focus on improving minimal amounts of things in my art!!

another thing is to be proud of what you draw, sure looking back to my old art is a certain negative feeling i cant explain but i just remember its those drawing that pushed me further into improving my art :3

you shouldnt feel like your being forced to create, another thing i struggled with!! now im starting to draw for myself more, and if i feel like drawing for others willingly i will do that!!

and for the last bits, dont be afraid to reference your favorite artists!!! and with references in general :3 i got inspired by alot of artists i like!

FIND THE STYLE UR COMFORTABLE WITH ive only recently found my style and ive loved it since (lasso fill tool my beloved), dont be afraid to be unique🔥🔥🔥🔥

now for color picking! if i want a certain look for my art, whether itd be saturated or desaturated, light or dark, and warm or cold and so on...

i usually take a color on the lighter side for my whites!! something like a light grey, a warm light yellow and a light blue!!!

as seen below here are the colors for the light parts of my art!! (ralseis fur is kinda white right idk AUUGGHGH)

with the color codes and swatches right there you can see the difference in tone!!

the ralsei drawing is more warm, the spamton one is supposed to be more saturated i think, and the kris one is more grey!! (and looks colder!!)

those single off white colors help me think of the feeling i want in my drawings!!!

it works for black colors too!! you can maybe see that the black i used in the drawings arent straight up pitch black!!

kinda a hot take but i dont hate tsoa i dislike it more but i have a big ass beef with some fans (unfortunately which is what i see/interact with the most).

On the book itself, it accomplishes what its job was, write a heart-wrenching story and tell part of the story of the trojan war and not have ppl confused (or so ive heard). Miller tells us what led up to the trojan war simply and gives us enough info bc tsoa isnt abt the war—its obviously abt achilles and patroclus. I think thats why it shouldn’t be cast into the depths or tartarus, tsoa has its strengths. however, i definitely dont like how the women are written. Thetis and Deidemia are villainized but then again this is from patroclus’ pov and an adaptation so I wont bash Miller too much but still—dont like it. Briseis was ???? idk how i feel abt her. I just think her liking patroclus was iffy?? it gave main character privilege too much for me? does this even make sense?? phyrrus, well hes supposed to mirror achilles but yeah Miller didnt have too much leeway so i can forgive her on that but..my boy phyrrus…your nuance…

yeah ill give tsoa 3/5 i think its strength is that its accessible but nothing too special to elevate it up further. one big bonus it got ppl (me) it get back into greek mythology after forgetting abt it for a while so yeah and smth abt help queer teens feel better abt their sexuality which is great.

okay so the fans, acting like youre an expert on thr iliad after reading an adaptation is just. pls dont. adaptations have change. look if you watched epic the musical but havent read the odyssey i wont trust you bc jorge has made changes and so has miller. thr most notorious for me is that achilles and patroclus arent 1st cousins once removed (one of thr things that was in Troy 2004 funnily enough). i wont explain plot differences bc ✨ you probably read ot alr✨and its sanatized if that wasnt abundantly clear. theres naturally added scenes, some for the better and some for the worse (*cough* any scene with deidemia)

i am not too upset abt medic patroclus its an interesting change. i personally like a mix of warrior and medic patroclus but eh

i really wishes deidrmia wasnt a total bitch like jealous yet supportive patroclus?? i wanma see this internal conflict?? assuming patroclus has feelings for achilles atp. also i wouldve loved to see their friendship too like their not only lovers but best friends. and antilochus but alas a girl can only dream. this was a delusional hope paragraph

in conclusion, i cant tell how i feel abt this book and its impact. its ???? theres lost nuance but its a single book and them again most patrochilles stuff is thr iliad and unfinished or fragmented texts so..
