Hes a shapeshifter (bc they're really fun to draw and also we couldn't settle on what we wanted him to look like) and although he doesn't really have a "main" form I draw him as a little goat looking dude most of the time. He was originally supposed to be dragons but i guess he kinda looks more like a goat or sheep now

He likes copying other animals forms to see how they feel and likes to study their unique social habits !! (This can sometimes take years!!). I think he especially likes animals like a rhebok, suni, fossa, kyloe, maybe a little grebe or guillemot… anyways. He was also originally supposed to like things like baking/arts and crafts basically making anything with his hands :]

Oh also in human years he'd probably be in his late 20s, maybe 30s.

"The Thorn in the Side." From Surah 52, At Tur, "the Turn."

As with all the Surahs, we need to know the signs that are assigned to it. As when Moses came down from Tur there were signs, the same was true after Muhammad descended.

Moses performed many "signs" during the Exodus, such as:

The burning bush (Exodus 3)

The staff turning into a serpent

The ten plagues of Egypt

The parting of the Red Sea

But strictly speaking, what he brought down from Sinai were the Ten Commandments on stone tablets and, symbolically, the law of God and evidence of divine communication.

We know Allah spoke to Muhammad on Tur because we have found evidence of secret messages hidden in the Quran within its Hebrew substrate and also in other places, the Talmud and the Acts of the Apostles in particular. As for modern signs of man's understanding of the Quran, these remain elusive as the proper study of the Quran is not fully mapped out. Most of the world does not yet grasp it.

In the next section of the Surah, Muhammad repeats : all of us must burn in the fire on the top of Tur if we expect to understand life on this world and make of it a paradise of our own.

52: 16-26:

"Burn in it! It is the same whether you endure ˹it˺ patiently or not.1 You are only rewarded for what you used to do.”

Indeed, the righteous will be in Gardens and bliss,

enjoying whatever their Lord will have granted them. And their Lord will have protected them from the torment of the Hellfire.

˹They will be told,˺ “Eat and drink happily for what you used to do.”

They will be reclining on thrones, ˹neatly˺ lined up ˹facing each other˺. And We will pair them to maidens with gorgeous eyes.

As for those who believe and whose descendants follow them in faith, We will elevate their descendants to their rank, never discounting anything ˹of the reward˺ of their deeds. Every person will reap only what they sowed.1

And We will ˹continually˺ provide them with whatever fruit or meat they desire.

They will pass around to each other a drink ˹of pure wine,˺ which leads to no idle talk or sinfulness.

And they will be waited on by their youthful servants like spotless pearls.        

They will turn to one another inquisitively.1

They will say, “Before ˹this reward˺ we used to be in awe ˹of Allah˺ in the midst of our people."

Commentary:

All encounters with God on Sinai have hidden signs or messages in them. There are a few above. I noticed one verse metioned "a pair of eyes" that is always a hint to look under the verse for ther hidden meaning.

We know the Quran was composed as a series of essays tied to themes found in its rubric letters called Fatihah. How and why we do not know. I suspect underlying web is based on Hebrew Numbers based on our journey so far. The following analysis of Tur may be able to tell us more.

They will be reclining on thrones, ˹neatly˺ lined up ˹facing each other˺. And We will pair them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. The number is 7902, זץב‎‎, zatsev, "the thorn in one's side."

"Elevation to ranks" and the term "discounting" are more signs:

We will elevate their descendants to their rank, never discounting anything ˹of the reward˺ of their deeds. Every person will reap only what they sowed. The Number is 13040, יג‎ים, yeg yim, "thirteen seas."

There are Twelve Tribes of Israel and a Thirteenth, "the rest of the world." Allah has designated Muslims as one of the Thirteen.

The Thirteenth Sea is 664, םסד‎, mesad, "the Foundation."

Fruits and meats are also signs of Kabbalistic meanings. We will continually provide them with whatever they need, which will lead to no idle talk. The Number is 14180, ידק‎ף, yedekhaf, "your nose will get stuck."

Youthful servants...like pearls are yet another sign of an encypted message Allah told Gabriel to convey to the Prophet. The Number is 15994, י״הץץד‎‎, yethatzad, "take a walk, a step, then glide."

We know we are on the right track because the Gematria mention a "thorn in the side" which refers to the burning bush on the top of Tur.

In order to understand the Sign, however, we must combine the terms above, into what is called a Gemara, "stripped down" version of the Arabic found in the Quran.

The morning, Ad Duhaa, the Second Surah, was the first sign the Quran had been given. The Quran as we know has not been implemented, so we wonder if God has abandoned us. What we need are more signs. As the Imam says, we have all we need, there have been plenty of signs and miracles, the next sign is up to us:

"Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned..." — Qur’an, Surah Ar-Rum (30:41)

The hour has arrived when silence itself becomes a betrayal.

We are not in an age of kings and armies alone—but of lies that wear suits, machines that do not bleed, and weapons that fly without a soul. Yet even now, the oppressed cry with the same sound as they did at Karbala.

“Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed.” — Sahih al-Bukhari, 2444

The wise know the second half of this hadith—to help an oppressor is to stop his hand.

The time has come for the Ummah's moral compass to speak clearly. We are seeing a return of Firaun in many faces. Greed has become creed. Entire nations suffer under the weight of falsehood while voices of justice are silenced in the name of stability.

"Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice." — Qur’an, An-Nisa (4:58)

Ukraine has called for help—not in secret, but in the open. They are not Muslim, but they are mazlumeen (oppressed). And Rasulullah ﷺ stood even for the non-believers when they were wronged, as in the Hilf al-Fudul, the pact of virtue.

Where are today’s pacts of virtue? Where are today’s Hilf al-Fudul?

The military powers of the world have been restrained—not by law, but by corruption. Not by peace, but by profit.

“Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then in his heart – and that is the weakest of faith.” — Sahih Muslim, 49

This is no longer the age for hearts alone. It is the age of tongues that must roar like the takbir. We do not call for war—but for witness. We call for truth to be louder than silence, and for courage to be greater than comfort.

To the muftis: your fatwa now is not merely law—it is shield or sword. A world awaits your signal.

Let your call be one of peace, but also of purity. Purify the corridors of power from corruption. Speak for the innocent. Let your words be light for those who have weapons but no guidance.

"And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, 'Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?'" — Qur’an, An-Nisa (4:75)

This verse does not speak only of swords—but of courage, clarity, and conviction.

The time for moral clarity has come. The Ummah watches. The world watches. The oppressed await.

May your fatwas be light. May your voices be justice. May your silence be shattered.

Yeah, the fact that it's a church is secondary. Though I was taught in art history class that a church's beauty was historically supposed to be really important, as it supposedly showed reverence for God and his creations (especially when they started adding more windows and stained glass in particular). So there is a teeny bit of "if church why so ugly" in the back of my mind.

Now, as to why I think beauty is desirable in architecture:

There's scientific reasearch that says that how buildings look can affect our well-being (both physical and mental). Source 2

Ugly designing can also affect the crime rates of an area.

It's not surprising. Would you rather live somewhere devoid of colour, ugly and bland or somewhere beautiful? There's a reason why people hate cookie-cutter homes.

Roman Catholics and Orthodox have got to knock it off with "Protestants have brutalist corporate churches". A particular modern strain of Protestantism has hideous modern churches. It's a depressingly common strain, and arguably the dominant one in America, but it's either ignorant or dishonest to pretend as though all Protestants have ugly churches.
