The atmosphere was tense in the best way.
Yoonmi kept looking out the van window, checking for the familiar figure she was waiting to see. The car shook slightly as she bounced her leg, fingers going up to tug at the ends of her hair.
“Geez,” Seokjin threw one leg over her lap and pulled her hands into one of his, “were you this jittery when I was discharged?”
She wrinkled her nose at him, “I will neither confirm nor deny.”
A chuckle escaped him, “That’s such a PR answer.”
“As a Bangtan member in this media economy…” she trailed off, making both of them laugh.
As much as her eldest member was able to distract her for a bit, her attention almost immediately faded back to the gates she had purposely asked their manager to park in view of.
Having Seokjin back has been one of the best things to happen to her in 2024, especially with him visiting her on her tour and hosting her comeback live just last month. Now that she had finished the tour, the absence of the other six members was starting to fill her senses.
“Hey,” her companion’s smile was evident in his voice while his posture shifted to grab the giant bouquet next to him, “if you stop overthinking right now, you’ll notice a little someone coming.”
Her eyes widened as she turned to look out the window. A familiar smile made its way into her view, unconsciously making the corners of her lips curl up.
Hoseok had come out of the gates.
Before anyone could even process what was happening, Yoonmi had already slammed the car door open and practically teleported to Hoseok’s arms.
There was a small grunt that came from him as he held her up, wrapping her in a hug as well.
She immediately buried her face into his chest, noting how much taller he felt due to his combat boots and her lack of platform shoes. “You’re home!”
“Almost, makdungie,” he pressed a kiss to the side of her head, “I still have to say hi to Jin hyung and talk to the media first.”
“Get back here,” a third voice joined their conversation.
The confusion was obvious in her face as Seokjin grabbed her by the back of her hoodie, pulling her off of Hoseok, only for him to hug his first discharged younger brother.
“I’ll be quick, I promise,” Hoseok laughed as he hugged Seokjin, “and what are these flowers, hyung? They’re bigger than our makdungie!”
“Obviously I was going to get you something big,” Seokjin scoffed.
“Alright, alright,” Hoseok smiled at his eldest and his youngest member, “let me address the media, then we can get out of here.”
Yoonmi watched in pride as Hoseok confidently addressed the media (and with amusement at Seokjin’s antics) before being caught off guard by the prior turning to look at her.
“Also, before I end, I need to do this.” His posture immediately straightened, Seokjin stretching his arms up further to accommodate the younger member who sharply raised his fingertips to his brow. “Sergeant Jung Ho Seok reporting the successful completion of his compulsory military enlistment to Bang Yoonmi, otherwise known as Kim Yoonmi.”
A gentle smile made its way to her face, mirroring his. “You’re home.”
He looked at her, sharply bringing his hand back down before relaxing his posture.
“I’m home.”
(there were articles the next day about jin's amusing reaction of being fake annoyed that he didn't have a similar emotional moment with hobi and his appalled face upon realizing miya was riding in hobi's car rather than with him)

Yoonmi’s Relationships with BTS
(updated as of february 2024) (mentions of hangouts are all indicating before the members’ enlistments)
JIN (Kim Seokjin)
Since Yoonmi had become an adult, Seokjin had taken to treating her like an equal and rarely using his “oppa” card, which is a stark difference from when she was younger. Yes, she still goes to him for advice, and he is the one who still helps her with adult matters such as bills and taxes and lifestyle, but he also becomes a friend that she can mess around with like she’s with other friends around her age. In his mind, she still is a baby, but he understands that she’s matured, wants to be seen as more mature, and that she’d still see him as a parental figure no matter how old she gets. He likes to think this is her finally acting out since she’s always been a good kid.
Jinmi in ARMYs’ eyes: They enjoy witnessing how Seokjin always “cries” about how she’s grown so much. The shift in their dynamic was over the pandemic, and suddenly everyone could see that Yoonmi was more comfortably roughhousing with Seokjin, and he was responding more like he would to Jungkook rather than his previous shrugging off and fond smiles. Seeing them become more like similarly-aged friends really made ARMY realize how she had grown.
Iconic Moment: It was revealed through the BTS documentary on Disney+ that Yoonmi was the one who initially started cutting his hair off. She was given the shears by her stylist, and she was so hesitant while Jin just kept encouraging her with “How will I know if I look okay bald unless you start?”. So she cut his hair, only getting distracted a small bit when Yoongi and Jungkook came, then listened attentively as their stylist carefully explained what to do with the electric razor. She, with assistance from the stylist, evened out Seokjin’s shave until she stepped back, staring at him. “It looks good.” “Of course it does, look who you’re talking to”. The video cuts there, but the next of her seen in that context has teary eyes and is gripping tightly onto Yoongi’s hand.
SUGA (Min Yoongi)
Yoongi is still very much her dad, that never changed The only thing that changed over the years is how they both actually address the fact that Yoongi is her father figure, second only to her adoptive father, and on level with her adoptive brother. Even the other members sometimes address Yoongi ad “Yoonmi’s dad” at this point. Yoongi and Yoonmi remained each other’s silent comfort person, the person who takes their side and hears them out first, and the person who they can go to when they feel overwhelmed. He’s there to hold her hand when things go wrong, and she’s there to give him a hug when things don’t go as planned.
2yoon in ARMYs’ eyes: Yoongi and Yoonmi is everyone’s comfort duo. When they’re together, there’s an air of warmth and calm, so everyone feels better after a long day when they watch 2yoon content. They find Yoongi’s care and the way Yoonmi looks up to him to the point of taking after him endearing, especially knowing Yoongi is the one Yoonmi never fought after their mysterious conflict in 2018.
Iconic Moment: Yoonmi went to all three days of the D-Day Tour finale. She, of course, did her feature on ‘Seven’ for Jungkook. During the ment where he kept them with him on stage, he thanked and praised Jungkook for ‘Burn It’ and ‘Seven’ before turning to Yoonmi. “And our princess, my daughter. She has something coming out this month and surprisingly didn’t want to spoil it—” “Surprisingly?” “— so she had a special request. As you all know, our Miya did the demo vocals of one of my previous mixtapes. I got to perform this song with our vocal line, but never with our princess. Until today.” So they performed ‘So Far Away,’ and the proud look on Yoongi’s face by the end as he looked at her made every ARMY feel like their troubles all disappeared.
J-HOPE (Jung Hoseok)
Hoseok and Yoonmi treat each other like their own personal powerbanks. They could be tired, but, once they’ve spent time together, their energy levels go up. Yoonmi says that’s why she gravitates towards Hobi when drinking, because she’s usually a sleepy drunk. They like to escape together, as well, hanging out in the practice room or either of their studios where they experiment with different styles, genres, or just mess around to fuel their creativity. Of course, Hobi never stopped seeing her as his little prodigy, teaching her old school hiphop and openstyle dancing and watching her proudly while they learned new styles together.
Homi in ARMYs’ eyes: The two sunshines, that’s what they’re known as. Hobi brings in bright energy while Yoonmi makes everyone smile, making them everyone’s favorite duo to turn to when they want to laugh and get a pick-me-up. ARMYs love seeing Hobi treat Yoonmi like the little sister he’s never had but always wanted, too! Everyone knows both Hobi and his noona see Yoonmi as their youngest sibling at this point, which is why she even got Yoonmi to sing in her wedding reception.
Iconic Moment: Yoonmi vlogged her Lollapalooza experience, so some behind the scenes were uncovered there. Hoseok got Yoonmi to rehearse Chicken Noodle Soup with him while they were waiting for Becky, and the two ended up having so much fun that the band kept vamping the song, making it longer so the two could enjoy their mini cypher. “Oh, Yoona, you haven’t forgotten your basics!” “I have the best teacher!”
RM (Kim Namjoon)
It used to be just Namjoon sitting to absorb and analyze the way Yoonmi’s mind works when they’re together. Now, she does the same to him, curious about his inner thoughts. They spend a lot of their time together having deeper conversations, whether it be about life, work, music, or just their thoughts. On the other side of things, they’re both clumsy dorks who geek out over their recent reads or watches together, actively showing interest in each other’s preferences because Namjoon wants to stay as someone who understands her almost best and Yoonmi wants to stay someone he can be proud of. Especially with Yoonmi, she wants to make her leader proud of her.
Joonmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Though ARMY initially thought they were awkward, that image disappeared. ARMYs see Joonmi and see a little sister looking to her older brother for validation, and him happily giving her that validation. ARMYs also enjoy the fact that these two together can go from 0 to 100 real quick, on any end of the meter. From just having lunch they can either go to talking about their plans for the future to being stuck in a laughing fit on the floor over a plastic utensil they’ve broken.
Iconic Moment: During the live with just the five of them, Yoonmi was a lot quieter compared to how she usually is. Namjoon kept glancing at her and tapping her leg to get her to talk. At some point, he bent to whisper something to her, then, when Taehyung opened his mouth, Namjoon quickly pushed a piece of pizza there. In his efforts to do so, he knocked over three cups. He looked at Yoonmi, who was now laughing, and he just nodded at himself in satisfaction.
JIMIN (Park Jimin)
Yoonmi has not changed in Jimin’s eyes in the way that she’s still his youngest Busan Baby. Whenever she tells him she’s an adult now, he always pouts at her and goes on a spiel about how she’ll still be his baby even when they’re in their 80s and beyond that. He invites her over to his apartment a lot, or he just stays at her’s (partly because Jungkook and her niece are usually there as well) because he genuinely enjoys her company and being able to sit with her. He also takes every opportunity he can get to give her princess treatment because he believes she should always be treated like Bangtan’s princess (even though she’s trying to shake off the delicate image that had somehow formed over the years)
Minmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Minmi are both very very affectionate, with their habit of holding onto each other unknowingly. ARMYs have so many compilations of them sharing the tightest hugs or exchanging the softest forehead kisses, naming them the mythical siblings due to the way they treat each other. Everyone also loves how these two speak either in pout or in giggles, no in between!
Iconic Moment: Nobody thought Yoonmi would be able to make it to Jimin’s fanmeet due to her solo promotions, but, while he was going to take a photo with the attendees, the “staff” who came on stage removed her padded long coat, revealing Yoonmi. ARMY started cheering while Jimin’s jaw dropped, then he rushed up to hug her really tight. “Yah, how long have you been here?” “The past hour? I had this in my schedule, oppa. You didn’t think I would miss your documentary screening, did you?” “You’re really something else, aegi.”
V (Kim Taehyung)
Taehyung and Yoonmi both matured a lot more visible than the other members, so their dynamic shifted a little bit from overly-doting big brother and complying baby sister to a pair of siblings more along a similar wavelength. While they’re still quite playful and he still dotes on her, their age gap isn’t as prominent in their actions. It’s clear that they both see how each other have grown, and it’s something they like to just observe when they’re with each other. They’re proud of each other’s growth, but more proud of how they managed to keep their friendship completely intact despite both of them changing over the years.
Taemi in ARMYs’ eyes: Taehyung and Yoonmi started posting more content together, which everyone enjoyed since they used to keep their off-screen friendship mostly to themselves. Now ARMYs enjoy seeing their posts when they meet up to go to jazz clubs, have coffee, or just do anything together. ARMYs also love seeing how they shifted from over-excitable kids to more mature youths who support and take care of each other.
Iconic Moment: An ARMY saw them in a jazz club together. Allegedly, there were a few cocktails on the table, and the two of them seemed to be exchanging stories the entire time they were there, never once letting there be dead air. Apparently Tae also tried to play the saxophone and let out a really out of tune note, but Yoonmi just cheered him on. The ARMY was able to take a picture with them, saying that they were both happy to see her yet politely asked to not post anything while they were still there. She promised, and the two were said to have continued their night of stories and jazz music.
JUNGKOOK (Jeon Jungkook)
If anything can describe these two, it’s the phrase ‘ride or die’. Yoonmi and Jungkook would drop everything if the other called them and said they were in need. Almost thirteen years of friendship and growing up alongside each other really molded them into being two peas in a pod, especially since they both hit their twenties. They would see each other every other day and talk to each other at least once a day. Jungkook had gotten less overprotective (especially now that she has a boyfriend), and he has increased his role as the main mythbuster of Yoonmi’s delicate image. Yet, even with all their bickering and squabbling, they remain each other’s support systems and hypemen, connected in a way where they can work with and around each other without even needing to talk. Their friendship is further solidified by their matching tattoos (aside from the group’s matching 7 tatts) which they successfully kept between themselves for over a year. (The only people who saw these right after they got them were Mark and Namjoon. The tannies found out by accident)
Jungmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Ever since Bangtan first debuted, Jungkook and Yoonmi’s friendship has been something so many people, whether ARMY or not, have admired and set as a standard or wish for in their own best friends. ARMYs specifically love how they’re not afraid to roughhouse or bite back at each other but still have each other’s backs no matter what. Also Jungkook biased ARMY all have Yoonmi as a bias wrecker or vice verse because of the amount of content these two have and the amount of time they spend together. Everyone already knows when either of them get married Yoonmi would be Jungkook’s best man or Jungkook would be her Maid of Honor.
Iconic Moment: Jungkook hosted one of his early morning Weverse lives from her kitchen, cooking himself something to eat. At around four AM, the sound of a door opening and closing made him look to the side where he froze and smiled brightly. You hear her go, “Oppa, again? When did you get in my house?” and he just, “Three hours ago. Ramen?” “I’ll just grab some water and go back to sleep. Don’t wake Yoonseol.” And everyone was surprised. It was common knowledge that they went to each other’s apartments often, but they just revealed Jungkook goes to her place just whenever he wants because either he knows the code or has his fingerprint in her lock.

[8:23pm kst, 230417, wc:435]
(content warning: hobi’s enlistment)
“Yoonmi,” Hoseok poked his head into the kitchen to find her focused on cooking them dinner, “you know that this is all unnecessary, right? I would have been fine with just takeout or something.”
The younger girl looked up at him, face scrunched in a mix of mock anger and offence, “No, you’re getting a nice home cooked meal for dinner and for breakfast tomorrow, and you’re not gonna go to your camp alone tomorrow.”
“My manager is driving me.”
Upon her sharp look, Hoseok just raised his hands in surrender and chuckled. He made his way to the sink to wash the dishes he knew she wouldn’t need anymore. It was quick, since Yoonmi was efficient with the materials she used for cooking, so he set the table for the two of them as well.
Even then, he finished just as she started grilling the meat and plating the kimchi fried rice. She put her complete focus and care into fixing up food for him despite the fact that she was in the middle of her midterms.
“Oppa, please stop staring at me,” she came to the dining table to place the dish of grilled beef in front of him. “I feel like I’m under a microscope.”
He chuckled and got up to carry the—much heavier—big bowl of kimchi fried rice for her, “Just taking you in, makdungie. I finally get it when Jin hyung said his last day before entrance was a day he’ll vividly remember.”
He came back to find her giving him her own solid stare. He laughed at her and poked her forehead, just between her eyebrows, as soon as he set the fried rice down on the table. This made her huff, which led to more of his laughter in return.
“I have to,” he defended himself while sitting across from her, “because you know how we can’t really check up on people outside camp for the first few weeks.”
One of her hands slipped from the table, tugging at the ends of her hair while he scooped some rice onto her plate. He gave her a pointed glance, silently telling her to stop the habit.
“You’re coming to my graduation, though,” she moved to place meat on his plate instead to keep her hands busy, “right?”
Hoseok smiled at her. “I already got the appropriate timing and method to file a leave from Jin hyung. All seven if us will be there, makdungie. Don’t worry.”
She smiled at him, gesturing to start eating. “I’m holding you to that. I love you, don’t forget.”
“I love you more, makdungie.”

What would be the most touching things that Yoonmi has done for each of the members?
hmmmm let's go by age and just things off the top of my head
yoonmi was the one to cut and shave jin's hair (with the assistance of their stylist) despite her not wanting to accept what was happening and falling into an anxiety attack while she was doing so. yoonmi loves jin's long hair and would take every chance she could to decorate it or braid it. it meant so much to him that she did that because it gave him a sense of comfort and a reminder to keep himself healthy and strong so he can come back and grow his hair out for her to put her clips and bows in again
with yoongi it's just yoonmi acknowledging him as a dad figure. it meant that she put her trust in him like she did her adoptive father, and that she trusted him enough to know he wouldn't be like her biological sperm donor. he takes his role as her dad figure very seriously, and he'a absolutely honored that she goes with it and acts accordingly
with hobi it's maintaining their tradition. they used to go to the han river to do old school hiphop lessons or just to destress, then it changed to hanging out on the company rooftop when they were overwhelemed or stressed. she never let it die down, no matter how long it's been since the last time they did it. even now, she brought him to the rooftop once when he visited her on his leave
something that will forever stick to namjoon is how she once dropped everything just to go with him to a museum because his friend had cancelled on him. sure she always said she'd drop everything if they asked, but it didn't really hit him until it actually happened. she came, no complaints, dressed nicely, and 100% present in the situation physically, mentally, and emotionally. that's when he knew she would always have his back like he had hers
for jimin, it's something a lot more subtle. for a time when he unhealthily didn't really eat much for a diet, she would complain about being hungry and wanting to go out for streetfood. she'd always pick jimin to be the one to accompany her saying it's their "minmi time". he didn't even realize he was snacking with her while they laughed and talked and told stories about their day. he realized long after that period of time that, on those days, he'd sleep better, think better, and feel better
with taehyung, she was the one who got in touch with a trumpet and a violin teacher to help him with his want to learn them. no one else in the group knew how to, so she took it upon herself to look for someone who did know how to until she found the best instructor that she knew taehyung would get along with. it's something he's forever grateful for because she didn't have to, but she did
if you asked jungkook this question and it was on a day where he was up to answering seriously, he'd say continue being his friend. jungkook knows yoonmi could easily cut him off if he so much as did one thing to offend her seriously, but her patience with him, despite their multiple playfights and bickering, is so much compared to her usual level. never once did she let an argument get the best of them. she always made sure they talked it out, come to a compromise or solution, and continue being each other's other half. he can't explain it all too well, but her staying his friend is the most touching thing she's done for him in his point if view

For miya I would like Jack in the box listing party and Miya giving jungkook a tour of Australia in more depth.
hi bub! this took quite a while, but i'm back to writing again and slowly filling out requests! for now, here's the jitb listening party, but you can look forward to the australia tour with jungkookie soon! hope you enjoy this for now~
dialogue written in italics are spoken in english!
The sounds of the music blasting reached her ears before the elevator doors could even open.
“God,” Yoonmi muttered to herself, “I can’t believe that uni made me late for a work event for the first time ever.”
She carefully smoothed out the front of her leather romper over her black button down, an outfit Jungkook had dramatically insisted on because he helped Hoseok pick the romper out for her, and stepped out of the elevator doors right before they closed once again.
Almost immediately, her eyes spotted her members all gathered together in the photo booth, seemingly scanning the room for her. Right, she had sent them her location so they could see when she arrived.
People laughed at her rushed greetings and made way for her as soon as they could hear the heels of her boots coming in their direction. Everyone knew where she was headed, and no one would be stopping her even if they wanted to.
A set of sunglasses-covered eyes met hers, but even the tinted lenses couldn’t hide the way they lit up.
“Makdungie!” Hoseok yelled out, opening his arms for a hug. “You’re here! How was traffic?”
A laugh slipped through her lips as she walked forward to give Hoseok a hug, trying to pour everything she wanted to say into the tight squeeze. You look nice. I missed you. The listening party is doing great. Sorry I missed the actual listening part of the listening party. You’re working so hard. I’m proud of you. All these thoughts, yet only some words came out. “Sorry, I’m late. Traffic was okay, but my professor held me back.”
He pushed her sunglasses up her head and did the same to his own. “What matters is you’re here. Come on, it’s your turn to take pictures with me.”
Hoseok swung an arm around her shoulders, squishing their cheeks together for their first photo. The audible ranting of Taehyung from the side about Hoseok’s audacity to steal her before she could say hi to any of the other members made the smile on her face grow even wider out of amusement. After a few changes of poses, all of them gathered together into the frame, taking a photo altogether and being sure to send a soft copy to Yoongi immediately.
It was after the photo when the entire situation sunk in. There were so many people in the room with her, and the sheer thought of having to start up conversations began to overwhelm her. It was a long day at university, fixing up certain documents she needed for the following semester.
“Stick with me,” Jungkook handed her a champagne flute and offered his arm for her to take, “and drink this. Something to warm you from the inside might help you loosen up.”
A grateful sigh came out of her, “Thanks. Can we go close to the stage? I think Hobi oppa’s dancer friends are about to pop off.”
“Say no more.”
The two maknaes excitedly walked over to the center, pleased to find dancers taking over the floor. Pretty soon, they found themselves grooving along with their motions, Taehyung and Namjoon even joining them for a bit.
A glass of beer made its way into her hand, followed by a knowing wink from Jimin. She laughed and quickly downed its contents, settling on the floor of the stage, looking directly at Hoseok as he interacted with his guests as well as danced for a while.
She noticed a glow emanating from him. No, it wasn’t a reflection of the spotlight or the other flashing lights surrounding them. Hoseok just seemed to be glowing, whether it be in satisfaction, happiness, growth, or all of the above, she wasn’t sure. It was just a nice glow that she was happy to see given how stressed out he was in the past month specifically.
Her stares didn’t go unnoticed as the object of her thoughts turned towards her, a confused look crossing his face before he smiled and sat next to her.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
“You’re absolutely glowing,” there was no hesitation in her voice, “and it’s an amazing look on you, oppa.”
He bumped her shoulder, “Thanks, Yoonmi. And thanks for coming by even though today drained you.”
“I wouldn’t miss this for the world,” she smiled at him, pleased to see his smile change to the one she only saw him use around family.
Hoseok got up, dusting his hand on his pants and offering her the drink in his hand. “Come on. If you’re up for it, I’m pretty sure Jessi nuna and Eunwoo were looking for you. Jack-Coke, by the way.”
She laughed at his choice of drink matching his album, thankfully taking the drink and placing her free hand on his outstretched one. “I think I’ve got a bit of energy left as long as you guys stay with me.”
“Always.”
She definitely had more energy than she thought. Needless to say multiple videos of her vibing surfaced the internet, being a topic of conversation for a while.

Hi! I was wondering how would each of the BTS members describe Yoonmi’s impact on them and how she has grown over the years in an a documentary/interview?
hi! okay i love this question! im gonna touch up on this without too much detail for now though bc i think i might do something with this type of content~
jin would say yoonmi is probably the person who taught him that you get to choose the people you keep close in your life. he saw how she carefully picked her trusted friends, and those she decided to keep close stayed. even her biological birth givers were never heard from again because she chose to cut them off, and he admired her for the courage and strength she had to do that. he'd say she grew from an scared uncertain little girl to one so sure in herself and her friends that she's become very confident
yoongi realized he was capable of taking care of people as well as not judging people by their appearance at first because of yoonmi. she showed him that people are capable of whatever they want to do, like how a little girl like she was when he first met her was capable of writing and producing music and just needed a little more guidance due to age and inexperience. that's why he took her under his wing. she has been and always will be his kid, and he's just proud to say that she grew to be more sure of herself and confident while maintaining a genuinely humble mindset
yoonmi's impact on hobi is a lot more subtle, but he'd say she was like a power source for him, making him believe in his name even further. on rougher days when he wanted to just throw the towel in and go home, she would take him to the han river or to the company's rooftop and just hang out, talk, or freestyle until the spark lights up in him again, and it worked vice versa he watched her in pain for years until she bloomed and thrived. that's where he says she is now, her thriving era
with namjoon, he'd say yoonmi helped him get more in touch with the world outside himself. war of hormone was probably a big part of that, where she kinda explained to him why people may think it off and why she wrote her verse the way she did to balance it out. now he'd say he's proud to see their baby standing out when all she did when she was younger was try to blend into the background wherever she was
it's common knowledge that jimin and yoonmi helped each other with their images of themselves as well as their relationship with food (although different). he'd name her as a guardian angel, making sure he's okay. he'd not that she had a period of reflection about who she was, especially while she went on semi-hiatus to focus on her senior year, and that she was finally doing what she encouraged him to do: explore different sides of herself
taehyung would say yoonmi kinda grounded him for a time being. when things got too much or started to feel unreal, yoonmi brought him back to reality. she's like his reminder of what's going on around him. he thinks she grew more mature and comfortable with embracing different sides of maturity, something he likes to say they have in common
THE ride or die, each other's halves duo jungmi! jungkook and yoonmi grew up together, so they're already pretty similar, but he'd say that yoonmi pushed him to work harder and grow more as a person. they helped each other out a lot, and they became a source of motivation and strength for each other. he'd say that she did get more confident and mature, but he would say she's more or less the same yoonmi that he's always known similar to how he's still the same jungkook as always just a bit more mature, and that's that

It’s been weeks.
Everyone in Bangtan was tiptoeing around Yoonmi and Yoongi for weeks since the two would not speak to each other at all. It was painful, to say the least. No one was used to Yoonmi flat out ignoring Yoongi. She’s never done that, not even when she was ignoring the rest of the band for forgetting about her elementary graduation. It also made everyone upset to see Yoongi’s hesitant yet guilty looks at their makdungie, but it was his fault. He panicked a little then dealt with it in a bad way. Who were they to blame for Yoonmi’s current actions when Yoongi did it first anyway?
At first, it terrified Yoonmi. She had never gone this long without speaking to any of her members, much less Yoongi. She didn’t even talk to him about work. It bothered her, and it was eating her out from the inside, not being able to talk to him, but it couldn’t be helped. Honestly, the busy preparations for their comeback helped a lot. She barely had any time for herself, much less for worrying about when she could resolve this conflict.
Speaking of their comeback, she had to stop getting lost in her thoughts. The track had been sitting in front of her ever since she finished recording background vocals, now she needed to actually blend it into the song.
And just as she started, the sound of her studio’s lock beeping made her turn around.
“Hey, makdungie,” Hoseok grinned as he walked in. He placed a box of what looked like pastries on her shelf and handed her the flowers that were in his hand. “I bought us snacks, and I guess someone dropped off some flowers before I got back. Again. Looks like he’s doing the boyfriend thing, right.”
The note on the card made her smile. It was from Mark, indeed. He never failed to send her flowers every two weeks since they’ve gotten together. Though it was sweet, she probably needed to talk him out of spending so much money on her.
“He is.” Her voice sounded lighter, even to herself. Upon seeing Hoseok sit on her beanbag, she decided to join him. “I never thought I’d be in a relationship. Much less with someone I’ve known since we were little.”
Hoseok opened the box of pastries with a chuckle. “But you liked him for the longest time.”
“Yeah…”
“This must feel sudden to you, huh?” The question caught her off guard.
Sudden? That wasn’t the case. Well, at first it was, but it didn’t seem like it now that she had time to process everything.
It was gradual. On her end, she had liked him after a year of their friendship. She thought it would fade away like the crush she had on Jimin when she was way younger, but it didn’t. Next thing she knew, Mark was telling her that he liked her, too. But he didn’t force anything. He waited. If anything, he courted her. He didn’t force his feelings onto her, but he did take her out every now and then and did little things that made her happy. When he did ask her, she was ready. Nothing felt rushed. Not at all.
“No,” she smiled, “it wasn't sudden. Everything fell into place at a good time.”
“So, when will things fall into place with Yoongi hyung?”
Yoonmi froze. That was the first time one of the others even mentioned his name to her. She lifted her gaze to meet Hoseok’s. His eyes were serious, and she knew there was no escape from the conversation.
That didn’t mean she couldn’t try.
As fast as she could, she grabbed a piece of chocolate bread and made a break for it. It seemed like Hoseok anticipated it, though, because he was able to grab her by the sleeve of her cardigan before she could reach her studio door.
“You’re not going anywhere, Yoonmi,” he lightly tugged her back to the beanbag next to him. “Not on my watch. You need to talk about this with someone, and I’m taking the initiative here.”
“Do I have to?”
“You do.”
She huffed but sank down into her seat. “He crossed the line. I’m mad. There, happy?”
Her face was hiding behind one of her sleeves, hanging over her features while her other hand carefully kept her bread from touching the couch. Hoseok’s less than amused chuckle filled the room. She didn’t like it. It sounded close to disappointment, and the last thing she wanted to do was disappoint her family.
“You’re not that mad.” Hoseok’s words made her move her sleeve the slightest bit off her face. “You’re upset. And hurt. You were mad then, but I know you, Yoonmi. You’re hurt now, and you want to at least talk it out with Yoongi hyung, don’t you?”
She kept quiet as Hoseok placed a hand on her knee. It’s not like he was completely wrong. Her anger had dissipated a while back the more she thought things through, and she mostly felt upset to think that the person who understood her the most and was almost always on her side would just assume she’d do something she so obviously wouldn’t. But talking to him? She still wasn’t sure if she would be able to talk to him without breaking down…
“I just need more time,” she told the older. “I don’t know if he’s still frustrated with me, and I don’t know if I can talk to him without feeling… betrayed? Yeah. Not yet. I’m sorry.”
She glanced at him, his sympathetic smile making her feel a little more nervous about her topic. He shook his head lightly. “Hey, it’s alright. Nothing to apologize for. We all get it. Yoongi hyung was in the wrong this time around, and I’m certain he realizes that. He’s probably beating himself up over it.”
“I don’t know, he was pretty firm when he said that.” She took an upset bite out of her chocolate bread. It probably looked funny considering Hoseok chuckled as soon as she did so.
She really wanted to believe that Yoongi at least felt bad about what he said, but she felt she was wrong. Yoongi was stubborn and would stand by his opinion without getting swayed easily. If that’s what he really thought of her, that she’d up and leave just like that even after spending almost 8 years growing with each other, then who was she to try and convince him otherwise?
Hoseok’s hand pulled her from her thoughts. The older had gently removed her free hand from the ends of her hair where she was tugging a little harshly. She didn’t even notice the fact that she had been doing that.
Silence took over them while she watched Hoseok lay his hand out with his palm up for her hand to rest in. It was something Yoongi would always do for her in meetings or interviews so she wouldn’t fumble with anything else due to nerves. So he had noticed it, then. She shook her head, a sad smile gracing her face while she began to play with his fingers.
“I’m not Yoongi hyung, but this will do,” he shrugged. “But he regrets saying that. I’m completely sure. I won’t explain anything for him because he needs to talk things out with you himself, but I reassure you he had good intentions with… bad methods of expressing it.”
She just nodded and stood up. She didn’t want to talk about this anymore. A vase made its way into her hands. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom real quick. The flowers need water, you know?”
“Hurry back,” Hoseok waved her off, “we have snacks to finish. I promise no more serious talk when you get back.”
Yoonmi gave him a grateful smile and left the studio. What she didn’t see was Hoseok pulling out his phone.
“I talked to her, hyung,” he spoke to the person on the other end if the call. “You heard her. She needs a bit more time. But you’re on your own now with patching things up.”
“Thanks, Hobi.”
Hoseok sighed as he hung up on the elder Daegu boy. He hated being serious with Yoonmi, but he did owe Yoongi this favor.
It was a few days before the recording of their showcase that Yoonmi felt like everyone disappeared.
She stood in the bathroom for a while just looking at her black hair. She already missed the purple that it used to be. Upon halfway through putting her hair in french braided pigtails, it occurred to her that there was something missing. There was a lack of knocking on the door from Jimin who would usually be the one after her. She couldn’t hear chattering from the living room, either. That was strange. The only thing that seemed normal was the sound of pans and utensils coming from the kitchen. Her phone told her that it was nine in the morning, so it wasn’t that early.
She shrugged it off and finished her braids. She had a long day in the practice room to worry about. The others were probably just ahead of her already seeing as they were close to their comeback and Jungkook had to physically take her to bed that morning the previous night. Namjoon must have let her sleep in again and left Seokjin to go with her to the company.
Or maybe not.
“Oppa, I’ve got my bag. Let’s— oh.” The sight of Yoongi standing by the living room made her freeze in her tracks.
“You don’t want to wear leggings instead of shorts?” He asked her while pointing to the end of her oversized sweater. “Spring is still pretty cold.”
All she did was blink at him. This visibly made Yoongi shifted his weight and pointed towards the table where they usually ate. “I made breakfast. Namjoon said we don’t have to be there until eleven. Eat with me?”
There was a debate going on inside her head. Half of her brain was yelling at her to run out the door and straight to the company building. The other half was crying to talk to Yoongi again and get things straight. Both choices had a sense of fear lining them. It was either risk prolonging the situation or face the truth that the person she looked up to thought badly of her.
But their eyes met, and the silent plea in his for her to sit down with him was too much for her to say no.
She set her bag on the couch and followed Yoongi to their table. It was mostly quiet while the older spooned some of the soup into her bowl. A familiar scent filled her senses and brought a small smile to her face. It was one of her favorite Filipino dishes, and it smelled exactly the way her grandmother made it. From the looks of it, Yoongi had gotten the recipe from her brother. Why would he do that, though?
“Eat up,” he instructed as he set her bowl in front of her. “I hope I got it right.”
It felt weird to just eat while the person she had been avoiding for weeks sat in front of her and watched her. No words were spoken at first. To her, it seemed like Yoongi was waiting for her to finish, which wouldn’t actually take that long considering it was comeback season, and she usually ate less than usual during comeback season.
She was right. As soon as she set her spoon down, a deep sigh caught her attention.
“Yoonmi, I’m sorry.” Yoongi met her eyes once before looking back down. “I was immature, and it led to me saying things I really shouldn’t have said. Things I didn’t think about, and things I definitely didn’t mean.”
She looked down, hands moving up to tug at her braids. “It felt really bad. Everything that’s happened to me with… those people, it was like you just made it seem like it was just another slight inconvenience. And you thought I’d do what they did… I felt bad. Betrayed. I don’t know, I’m being overdramatic, aren’t I?”
“No, you aren’t!” There was a sudden alert in Yoongi’s voice as he finally brought his eyes to settle on the girl in front of him. “I acted on my own nerves, and I’m sorry for that. I know how everything affected you, and I know you wouldn’t do that.”
“So why’d you say it?” The way Yoongi faltered a little when she looked up and met his eyes didn’t go unnoticed. “It’s not a small matter, so what made you throw it around like it was nothing?”
The Daegu-born man closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It seemed as if he were choking up a little on his words. This was the one thing she wanted to know most. Why? Why did he ignore her then disregard her feelings like that?
“Honestly, I was scared.” Each word came out of his mouth slowly. “It’s just that you got a boyfriend, and I realized you were growing up. I was so used to having you, well, you know, the way you’ve always been. Only looking towards us to take care of you, but then you got a boyfriend, someone else who you’d eventually end up turning to. I guess I realized you wouldn’t need us anymore. I know it’s not a valid reason, so I’m sorry. I did wrong.”
He was scared. That was almost funny to her. Min Yoongi? Scared? Of not being needed?
“That makes no sense.” She shook her head at him. “What, you think I won’t pester you guys with my problematic self anymore?”
“You’re not problematic.”
“Anyway,” she steered him away from that, “you practically signed a life-long contract the moment we began to dorm together. Sorry oppa, but you can’t escape me easily.”
Yoongi cracked a smile and looked at her. “You’re taking this pretty well.”
“Don’t get me wrong, oppa,” she began, “I’m still very much upset with you. I’m just tired of crying. I’ve been crying and holding grudges for practically half a year, now. I don’t want to do that anymore. That doesn’t mean you’re completely off the hook. You went too far.”
The older nodded at her. “I know. I completely understand. And I’m gonna try my best to make things up to you, I swear.”
“Well,” she brought out her phone, “you can start by bonding with Mark oppa. You’re both obviously important to me, and I want you to get along.”
Yoongi gave her a look but sighed and nodded. Yoonmi immediately sqeualed in excitement and began messaging her boyfriend. This brought a smile to Yoongi’s face.
There was no hug yet, but he was patching things up with her. Seeing her smile because of him again made anything and everything he needed to do worth it.

Yoonmi walked onto the set cautiously. She didn’t want to disturb anyone, especially since it looked like they were starting a new take when they walked in. She also didn’t know if Hoseok wanted her there. Sure, they were all pretty much good after resolving the whole four or so months of conflict, but she wasn’t sure if Hoseok would like that Jungkook brought her along with him to the set without permission.
Jungkook tightened his hold on her hand when he felt her falling behind him.“Come on. You know Hobi hyung loves you and would be ecstatic once he realizes you’re here.”
“I don’t know…”
“Hyung!”
Yoonmi jumped at Jungkook’s sudden yell. Her eyes widened when she realized Hoseok had seen them. She nearly froze in her spot, but Jungkook tugged her forward. A shy smile reached her face when they reached the older members.
“My maknaes!” Hoseok brought the two into a hug. “When did you two get here?”
Jungkook shrugged and gravitated towards Yoongi who commented about him looking like staff. Hoseok kept his hold on her, though. She felt him rest his chin on top of her head. He was still so… welcoming. He was so warm, and the hug held absolutely no spite at all. Her eyes shut, and her fingers curled into his shirt.
“Thanks for coming, Yoon-ah.” He gently stroked her hair.
She wanted to hug him tighter, but she didn’t out of fear of annoying him. “I didn’t know if you’d want me here. I mean, I didn’t tell you in advance, and, well…”
“No, I like that you’re here.” He leaned back and squished her cheeks together. “I mean, your support means a lot, and you did help me with some of the tracks on my mixtape.”
Not knowing what to say, she just smiled and held up the drinks she was carrying. She handed one to Hoseok, keeping the other to herself.
“Oh? What’s this for?”
“It’s not much,” she looked down and shrugged, “but I want to make it up to you. I would have gotten some for Tae oppa and Yoongi oppa, but I didn’t know that they’d be here, too.”
Hoseok scrunched his eyebrows together while sipping the drink before poking her cheek. “How many times do we have to tell you that it’s fine. You don’t have to apologize for anything. It’s behind us, and we’ve all forgiven each other, haven’t we?”
Trapping her bottom lip between her teeth, she nodded. She still wasn’t fully convinced that she was off the hook yet. She wished Hoseok a good luck and offered to hold his drink for him while he filmed. She couldn’t stop herself from smiling when Hoseok pressed a light kiss to the top of her head before returning her to Jungkook’s side.
“Thanks for coming. Enjoy yourself. Look, Taehyung’s making a cameo!”
She laughed lightly, hand coming up to play with a strand of her hair. Hoseok gently pushed her hand back down to her side and patted her cheek before returning to set. She felt someone fix the bits of hair she had been messing with.
“You good?” Yoongi looked at her with slight worry.
She nodded at him. “I am, yeah. What take is this?”
“Oh, you stayed?”
Yoonmi looked up from where she was sitting and smiled at Hoseok. “Are you up for the Han river?”
“We haven’t done that in ages.” A soft smile graced his face.
When they were still trainees, Hoseok used to take Yoonmi to the Han river where he’d treat her to food, then he’d teach her how to freestyle or how to do old school hiphop dances. That’s why she was so attached to the Han river. Whenever she and Hobi went, it would remind her of when her brother used to take her to the underground scene when they were younger. After they debuted, though, they haven’t gone. There wasn’t much time for them to go off on their old shenanigans.
“Only if you’re not tired.”
“Are you kidding me? It’s been five years! Let me just grab my stuff and change my clothes before we go.”
Fifteen minutes later, they’re on a picnic blanket with Yoonmi pulling some stuff out of her backpack. There was a laptop she borrowed from the company, a large container, and a 1.5 liter bottle of cola. She wrinkled her nose a little when Hoseok opened the bottle, the smell of carbonated soda entering her nose.
Hoseok let out a little laugh and booped her nose. “Why’d you bring cola when you can barely drink it?”
“You like cola when we learn dances.”
“How about we just put on some music, eat whatever you’ve got in here, and just hang out? It’s been a long day.”
“Right,” she opened the container revealing salted caramel popcorn, “I got it. Music video filming is tiring.”
She curled her jacket up and put it on the ground creating a makeshift pillow. She heard rustling beside her before she felt something drape over her body. It was Hoseok’s coat. She turned to see him with his bag under his head the same way her jacket was under hers. The only thing blocking him from the winter-turning-spring breeze was his sweater.
“This is nice.” He turned his head towards her and gave a satisfied smile before turning back towards the sky. “It’s not our usual Han river time, but it’s relaxing. Is this the beginning of a new tradition?”
“Maybe, but I don’t think we’ll have time to go to the Han river to do this.”
“Then we can do this on the roof of the dorm. Or the company rooftop. Take your pick.”
A silence took over the two of them, Harry Styles’s voice playing in the background. She turned to look at the older. He had his eyes closed with a relaxed look on his face. As per usual, he was enjoying the music, head swaying slightly. She smiled and turned back to the sky in question.
Hoseok was the sweetest from the very beginning. He’s the one who never got upset with her, not even once. Ever since she first came to the company in the last quarter of 2010, Hoseok was the one who was always patient with her, never with any sign of annoyance.
So how is it she found herself having the audacity to yell at him multiple times?
She closed her eyes in frustration with herself. She hated that she acted that way towards someone who had been nothing but kind to her. Yet, even after all that, he’s still taking care of her. He’s still happy to have her support. He’s still making sure she’s warm, more than himself.
A chuckle brought her out of her thoughts.
“If you tug on your hair any harder, you might start losing hair faster than Yoongi hyung.”
She snapped up into a sitting position, startling Hoseok into doing the same.
“I’m sorry.” She sighed when he gave her a confused look. “I know you said I don’t need to apologize, but I just had to. You’ve been nothing but nice to me for years, yet I still blew my top off at you when you were just checking up on me.”
“It’s okay,” he reassured her, resting a hand on her back. “It was bound to happen someday. The only other time I’ve ever seen you get angry is your elementary school graduation. It’s about time you learned that bottling everything up forever isn’t going to do you any good.”
“But I hurt you!” Her voice came out choked almost as if another word would have made her break.
“Maybe a little, yeah,” he chuckled, “but I’m a big boy. I can handle it. Besides, you apologized, and I already forgave you. There’s nothing to feel so bad about, okay? Come here.”
She let him gather her up into his lap. Warmth spread throughout her, and she felt her chest get lighter after melting into the older’s hug. She tried her best to swallow the lump in her throat, but her tears slipped out.
“Aigoo,” he wiped her cheeks dry, “look at you. Has this been eating you up this whole time?”
She nodded and hid her face in the crevice where his neck met his shoulder.
“No more.” He patted her head. “Next time something weighs you down like this, just ask me to look at the sky, and we can do that, okay?”
She was amazed. Here he was again, kind-hearted Hoseok who always took care of her. “You’d do that?”
“I’m not Jungkookie or Yoongie hyung, but I’m still your older brother. Now we can have our own tradition.”
“A new tradition…”
“Mhmm.”
She looked up at him, finally a look of ease on her face. “I might just take you up on that offer, so long as you do the same.”
“It’s a deal.”

Hiiiiiiiiii! I hope you’re having a good dayyy! Could we see the time when Yoonmi first gets her period? (I think she’d approach Jimin first about it because he’s a caring hyung to his dongsaeng irl?) and like everyone else is like, they’re usually close but she’s being extra close with Jimin and Kook gets a little pouty about it but then Yoonmi eventually just says it’s bc she got her period and she wasn’t sure if the others would be comfortable knowing about it. (I would assume she’s thinking this way bc she was young?) Hmmmm or I guess she could also go to Jin bc he’s the eldest? Idk jghghjaka but if you’re not busy, could we see this scenario?
i’m doing pretty okay, thank you, hun 🥰 i actually wrote about yoonmi’s first period over here, so i’ll try to work around this if that’s okay?
“Oppa,” she poked her head in, “can I ask for a favor?”
“Come in, makdungie,” he smiled and patted the bed, “what do you need?”
She walked into the room and hesitated before deciding to just stand in front of him. She pulled the long cardigan tighter around herself, nervous about what she was about to ask him.
“You have a noona, right?” She asked him.
“Yeah, you know this.” He laughed a little. “You guys bond a lot. Why aren’t you sitting?”
“I don’t think you’d want me to sit on your bed.” She tugged at the ends of her hair. “You don’t have to do this, but Eunhae unnie is busy... Is it possible that you could, maybe, uh...”
Her hesitance made Hoseok smile at her. It could only mean one thing.
“You need me to go get you pads?” He was already getting up and grabbing his wallet.
“I’ll pay for it!” She pulled out her own wallet and gave Hoseok some of her savings. “If it isn’t too weird or a bother?”
Hoseok smiled at her and patted her head. “No bother at all, Yoonmi. Go and get washed up. You had a long day today. I’ll be back by the time you finish washing up.”
She pressed her lips in a tight line and nodded before backing out of the room. She paused before closing the door.
“Could you not tell the others? I know they all know what’s going on, but it’s still weird to me.”
Yoonmi smiled when she saw Hoseok mime zipping his mouth shut. She waved and closed the door before rushing to the bathroom.
Jungkook comes home to find Hoseok passing something off into the bathroom and immediately shutting the door. The pink bandana on the handle told him that Yoonmi was the one in the bathroom. He tilted his head in curiosity. Yoonmi never opened the door when she was in the bathroom, not even if she needed a new bottle of shampoo or soap.
“Hyung,” he called out, “what are you doing?”
“Yoonmi just forgot her towel in your room.” Hoseok smiled and headed off to the kitchen, a plastic bag in his hand.
Jungkook’s eyebrows furrowed. He was sure he saw her towel hanging there on the rack next to the sink before they left the dorm that morning.
He walked towards the kitchen to grab a quick snack and saw Hoseok standing by the microwave. The older was humming a song while putting on oven mitts.
“Oh, hey, Kookie,” Hoseok waved at the younger, “I was just heating stuff. What’s up?”
“I’m a little hungry,” the younger came closer, “so, can I have some of that?”
“What? This?” Hoseok pointed to the microwave. “This is for Yoonmi. You can’t eat this.”
Just then, the microwave dinged to tell them it was done. Just then, the bathroom dorm opened followed by the sound of a bedroom door opening and closing again. Hoseok opened the microwave door and pulled out something pink and carried over in the direction of Yoonmi’s and Jungkook’s room.
Jungkook silently followed and peeked through the door. He could see Yoonmi pouting while Hoseok placed something on top of what he assumed was her stomach.
Oh.
Jungkook got what was happening. Well, somewhat. He knew she was on her period, but she told them not to fuss about her. Yet there she was letting Hoseok coo at her and baby her. He felt his face fall into a grimace. Why didn’t she let him? Sure, it was weird to him, but he was her best friend!
Jungkook moved back to the kitchen. He sulkily ate his dinner while waiting for their main dancer to leave the room. He took some time to heat up some milk and stir in some chocolate syrup for her. He sprinkled in some cinnamon and went into their room. Namjoon’s snoring filled the air as he walked over and sat on the edge of her bed.
“Hey,” he poked her back, “you had a rough day. I got you hot chocolate. It’s not like you make it, but close enough.”
Yoonmi sat up and gave him a smile while accepting the mug. “You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” He sat quietly watching her take little sips for a while before speaking. “So, Hobi hyung’s helping you out with your... yeah?”
“He told you? I asked him not to tell you guys.”
“Why don’t you want our help?”
Jungkook looked at her, his slightly hurt tone coming through. He watched her eyes go from surprised to slightly hesitant.
“Oppa,” she began, “I asked for Hobi oppa’s help because he’s really close to his noona. I didn’t want to bother you guys.”
“It wouldn’t be a bother!” Jungkook just frowned when she giggled at that. “What?”
“Oppa, you can’t even say period,” she let out, “and you don’t have a sister. This is awkward for you, isn’t it?”
He leaned back a little as he processed that. She was right. He did feel awkward about it. Still, though. She was uncomfortable and in pain, so he wanted to help her.
“I’m your best friend,” he stubbornly took her empty mug from her hand and placed it on the desk before slipping under the covers with her. “I’m gonna be awkward, but I’m gonna get used to it. Watch. I’ll be an expert on this in no time.”
She just shook her head and closed her eyes. “You don’t have to.”
“I want to. Deal with it.”

Hiiii!!! Could I please request protective hobi and yoonmi? Maybe something involving her fainting? Thank you! Happy new year 🥰❤️
i gotchu hun 🥰 some more homi coming up! and happy new year to you, too!
WARNINGS: fainting, self-neglect, overworking
Hoseok wasn’t one to dote on Yoonmi.
Okay, that’s a lie, he dotes on her often. Just not as much as Seokjin or the 95s. But, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t notice things.
Ever since she first came, he was the first person who fully accepted the fact that she would train and dorm with them. He stayed behind with her and helped her practice dance, so he knew her tells when she was doing okay or feeling off.
That’s how he found himself visiting the 19-year-old girl while she practiced for her solo comeback.
He had noticed her skipping breakfast that day, and he was almost positive she stayed behind in the practice room during lunch. She had another break scheduled at 3pm, so he decided he’d buy her a big burger and a lot of fries just to fuel her up.
The first thing he noticed when he walked into the practice room was how focused everyone was. They were starting the choreography off when he walked in, and there was no sign of slacking off. Everyone was going 110%, but he took one look at Yoonmi and immediately approached Sungdeuk.
“Hyung, they need to take a break,” Hoseok said in all seriousness. “Now.”
“Nonsense,” the choreographer waved his hand. “They just started this run, and they had a break two runs ago.”
Hoseok looked at Yoonmi again, noticing the change in her manner of blinking. The main warning sign was there. Sometimes, he forgot that only the members could actually see these warning signs.
“Hyung, now,” Hoseok practically demanded. “Yoonmi’s about to collapse.”
“Hoseok, she’s literally giving her all without a struggle, and—“
He didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence. Hoseok had been watching Yoonmi, and he saw the moment her eyes roll upwards, eyes shutting. He dropped his backpack and raced forward to catch her. The dancers all stopped and stared in worry while Hoseok held her up and did his best to keep her head elevated.
He pried one of her eyes open to look for any sign of consciousness and cursed under his breath when he found none. She was out. He immediately picked her up bridal style, making sure to rest her head on his shoulder, then looked towards Sungdeuk, who was gaping at her.
“I told you she needed to stop,” Hoseok’s eyes slightly narrowed. “Why didn’t you listen to me?”
“But she was doing so well,” he stuttered, “and she had so much energy, too!”
“Hyung,” Hoseok sighed. “I can assure you that the eight of us know each other inside out. Just trust us when it comes to each other.”
With that, Hoseok picked up his backpack with the help of one of the dancers and left the room.
He brought her straight to her studio and settled her on the one of the beanbag chairs she had. He dragged her computer chair over and rested her feet on them so they were elevated. With a sigh and a mental note to remind her not to train in denim shorts, he carefully unbuttoned her shorts, keeping sure to keep her shirt over it, though.
He rummaged through one of the cubbies on her wall until he found one of her tumblers with a straw. While rummaging through his backpack for the water bottle he got, he heard a little sound come out of her.
“Hey,” he said as quietly as he could, “is your head okay?”
“Yeah,” she tried sitting up. Hoseok had to help her up. “My head’s good. You don’t have to whisper. When did you get here?”
“Came in on your last run. Sungdeuk hyung didn’t listen to me when I told him you needed a break. I got you food, by the way, but drink some water first.”
She accepted the drink and let the straw rest in her mouth a bit before sipping. Hoseok watched her in silence, hand on the back of her head as if trying to prevent her from falling back down again. When she finished, he took the cup from her.
“How many times have we told you?” Hoseok scolded lightly while handing her the burger and making sure she started to eat it. “You can’t skip breakfast and lunch on an intense practice day. You can’t keep practicing in denim shorts, they don’t let you breathe well enough. You also can’t keep overworking yourself like this.”
“It’s in my nature,” she mumbled, food muffling her voice a little.
“And we’ll work together so it isn’t,” he smiled at her. “At least two meals a day, okay? and at least one member supervising your practice just in case you try to keep your own exhaustion under wraps.”
“Okay.”
“Little steps, princess. I’ll be with you on every step of the way.”

could you write angst 11&14 with yoonmi and hobi?? i don’t want makdungie or sunshine hurt but i need some angst lol
angst with homi? something rare but hereyago luv 🥰 i felt kinda sad writing this bc of them being each other’s rays of sunshine aksjdhfh but fighting with your friends and family is inevitable 🤧
this is kinda like in the same timeline as that joon drabble i posted, just a few days after
prompts: “Nobody’s seen you in days.”, “Can you shut up for once in your life?”
“Yoonmi, open the door,” Hoseok called through the studio door.
Yoonmi unplugged her headphones and played her music louder. She didn’t want to talk to anyone at that moment. She had been staying at her brother’s place for the past few days, and the boys would only catch glimpses of her when she walked to her studio. All seven of them wished rehearsals would come by faster so they could see their makdungie again.
“Yoonmi-ah. Please let me in. Nobody’s seen you in days. I just need to make sure you’re okay. We all want to know how you’re doing from you and not from Yoonsung hyung.”
“Can you shut up for once in your life?”
Yoonmi had slammed her hand on the pause button, leaving her in silence. She didn’t mean to shout that at Hoseok. She sighed and buried her face in her hands. That was until she heard beeping from her locks. She turned and saw Hoseok got in. There was a tall figure who walked past the door, one she easily recognized. Manager Sejin helped Hoseok get into her studio. She narrowed her eyes at him.
“Why are you here?”
“I told you,” Hoseok began while closing the door behind him, “I just want to check on you and actually hear from you. I know you’re mad, but—“
“Mad?” Yoonmi let out a tired laugh. “While Namjoon oppa was discussing the whole thing, you didn’t say anything. It was almost like you agreed with it!”
“I didn’t agree or disagree,” Hoseok explained to her. “I needed to think about it.”
“Again with the thinking about it,” Yoonmi groaned. “We are in this together. All eight of us. For most of my life that I can remember, it’s been me and my seven oppas, but now it feels like that’s getting taken away from me, too!”
Yoonmi could feel her tears welling uo in her eyes, but she didn’t let them fall. She had shed enough tears over being left behind before. She wasn’t about to do it again. If Hoseok noticed her about to cry, he didn’t say anything.
“You know we’d never leave you,” Hoseok gave her a sympathetic look.
“You say that now,” she began, “but watch if this actually pushes through. One by one, you’re all going to just—“
She cut herself off with a frustrated groan. She looked back at the music she was working on. Her next solo comeback. She frowned at it then put on her shoes, grabbed her bag, and stormed out the door.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m cancelling my comeback,” she spat out. “I’m not doing solo promotions. Not while this is happening. Don’t bother waiting for me here. I’m going back to Yoonsung oppa after this.”
She slammed her studio door behind her leaving Hoseok in her studio. He glanced at her open computer before sighing and saving her progress for her then turning it off. The meeting really messed up their dynamics as a team. He needed to talk to Yoongi about this before they get to Namjoon.

can i request a yoonmi and hobi angst 9 pls? i haven’t seen many hobi and yoonmi drabbles here ☹️☹️ ty and stay safe c !!!!
awwww i really haven’t written about them much :(( i should really change that aksjdhf but of course, hun! here it is! hope you stay safe as well! 🥰
WARNING: mentions of not eating or sleeping
prompt: “Please don’t lie to me again, I can’t take it.”
Hoseok lightly knocked on the studio door. Yoonmi had shut herself in there to make final adjustments to her solo comeback, and the boys had genuinely not seen her in three days. The boys knew not to bother her when she was like this, but they were all worried for her.
The door surprisingly opened, pulling Hoseok out of his line of thought. He put a huge grin on his face while Yoonmi opened the door for him. His smile almost fell at what he saw.
Yoonmi gave him a small tired smile. Her eyes looked sunken, and she moved in such a fragile way that Hoseok was worried she couldn’t hold herself up.
“Hi, oppa,” she spoke, voice a little shaky. “I didn’t expect you here. Come in.”
“I messaged you,” he told her. “Have you been checking your phone?”
“I have,” she confirmed while sitting down on her work chair, “I just haven’t checked it this morning.”
That was the first lie.
“How was your sleep?” Hoseok moved to hover next to her while watching her edit.
“It was great!”
That was the second lie.
Hoseok could see it all so clearly. Sure, she was a great actress, but that didn’t change the fact that he knew her, and her physical appearance gave her away as well. He turned his chair to face him and squatted down in front of her. He needed to ask her one more question, the one he worried about most since she never really had a big appetite.
“When was the last time you ate? Please don’t lie to me again, I can’t take it.”
Yoonmi looked down into her lap and mumbled, “Yesterday morning, I think?”
“Saturday morning?”
“Yeah, It’s only been a day.”
Hoseok’s worry only grew.
“It’s Monday today.”
Yoonmi’s eyes grew wide, and that was all Hoseok needed to confirm that she hasn’t slept since she arrived at the studio. He was surprised when Yoonmi shot out of her chair and started fixing her things.
“I need to get to school,” she said, frantically rushing around the studio and placing the papers that were on her desk into her bag. Hoseok gently place his hands on her shoulders and stopped her.
“Relax,” he soothed. “Jungkook called Hannah and told her to tell Haechan that you’re sick today.”
“I’m not sick!”
“You might as well be,” Hoseok shook his head. He took her hand in his. “We’re going to go and get you something big to eat, then we’re going straight home and making sure you sleep until dinner.”
“Oppa, I’m fine,” she protested. “I need to get to school and submit my—“
She didn’t finish. She felt her knees buckle, and she would have fallen if it weren’t for Hoseok keeping her upright.
“If you’re fine, then I’m the shortest member of Bangtan,” Hoseok countered. Yoonmi cracked a smile at that.
“Okay, I guess I’m a little dizzy.”
“A little?”
“... A lot.”
“That’s why you’re sleeping until dinner.”

fluff 10 with yoonmi and hobi 💜
here we are luv 🥰
i don’t really write much of hobi with yoonmi so this was nice :3 thanks for the request!
set in 2017 when yoonmi graduates from middle school and goes into high school (sopa bc jungkook went there ✊🏻)
prompt: “i would give up everything for the chance to see your laugh again”
“Hi, princess,” Hoseok called out when her heard the front door of their dorm open and close. She was the only one out, so that meant that she probably came home just then.
“Hi.”
It was a quiet mumble. The way Yoonmi walked straight past both him and Namjoon before going right to her room made Hoseok worry. He exchanged looks with Namjoon for a second before standing up.
“I’ll go check on her.”
Hoseok approached her room and knocked on the door. He heard her quietly let him in, so he slipped through the door and closed it behind him. The look on her face was one Hoseok did not enjoy at all. His little sunshine was upset.
“Princess,” Hoseok called her attention while sitting at the foot of her bed. “How was school? Did you see Haechan, Hannah, or Daehwi today?”
Yoonmi’s bottom lip quivered, which wasn’t a good sign. She threw the blanket over her head to hide herself, but Hoseok could hear her little sniffles.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have accepted the acceleration,” she mumbled through the blanket. “Hwi was absent, and Hannah unnie was in another department. I was with Hyuckie oppa.”
Hoseok looked at her worriedly. He was there when the school’s representative told her that her performance in her middle school as well as her talent would allow her to accelerate by one year. She was so excited about it, but now she looked like she was regretting it. He moved to sit directly next to her before wrapping an arm around the bundle of blanket she was under.
Hoseok sighed before speaking again. “What happened today?”
“There was this girl,” Yoonmi began silently. “She was telling me that I shouldn’t have been there. Her friends were, too.”
“Did they stop on their own?”
“No. Hyuckie oppa walked into the classroom and saw what was happening. He told them to back off. But, oppa, they were being mean. They were insulting me, too. I know I handle hate pretty well now, but it’s different having those words said to your face.”
Hoseok brought her into a hug. He hated it when she was upset, but it was also usually Yoongi who handled her when she was upset, so Hoseok was at a bit of a loss. He peeled the blanket off of her and smoothed her hair down.
“Do you want to move?” He asked her. Yoonmi shook her head before burying her face in his shoulder. He patted her back for a bit before suddenly remembering something.
“When I was in high school,” he began, “the other kids called me ugly. They made fun of me for being into dancing, but they mainly made fun of me by saying I looked like a horse.”
“But you’re not ugly,” Yoonmi looked up at him. “You literally have thousands of girls falling for you.”
“They wouldn’t have known that would happen,” Hoseok chuckled while wiping her tears away. “I didn’t like what they were saying, so do you know what I did? I threw away my dignity and decided to make horse noises and gallop around every time they called me a horse.”
A smile reached Hoseok’s face when he heard Yoonmi laugh. He squeezed her a little tighter.
“They got tired of it eventually and stopped. Actually, I’ve been thinking about doing it again to spite all the people who say I look like a horse now. The temptation is bigger now that I know it makes you laugh.”
“Oppa, you don’t have to give up your dignity again for something as trivial as people who don’t know you or making me laugh.”
“You should understand when I say this, princess,” Hoseok told her while looking her straight in the eye. “I would give up everything for the chance to see your laugh again. Especially when you’ve had bad days and come home with a frown.”
Yoonmi stared up at Hoseok for a little before throwing her arms around him. “Oppa, you wouldn’t have to try that hard to make me laugh. To me and to the oppas and ARMY, you’re a big ball of sunshine!”
“Well, you’re my little sunshine, so I have to make sure that brightness never disappears from you.”
