lee seokmin was the sweetest, most innocent boyfriend you think you could ever ask for.

he knew all the right things to say and what time to say them, and couldn't help but be a shining example of a perfect boyfriend. his caramel-brown eyes sparkled with adoration for you no matter what time of day it was, and his hands were careful with your body as he loved you day after day.

that's why moments like these always surprised you.

seungkwan said that the two of you sometimes undressed each other with your eyes, to which seokmin laughed and you flushed a deep red at. seokmin had played it cool, saying that he preferred to undress you with his actual hands (which made the whole conversation ten times more unbearable to sit through without kissing seokmin silly).

now, though, anyone could see what seungkwan meant.

now, seokmin was staring at you as if he could imagine what was underneath that oversized hoodie of his. his eyes were as sharp as a jaguar's, stare piercing he watched you walk over to the couch.

it made your skin prickle, seeing seokmin's usual soft stare replaced with one more predatory—as if he'd take you from where you stand and show you how much he loved who you were.

"what?" you question with a stunned look on your face. seokmin faintly smiles, dark eyes still glued to your figure as he shakes his head once. "nothing, lovie. you just look so pretty in my hoodie."

that causes a laugh to spill out of you, to which seokmin's eyes soften just a little bit. "pretty? seok, i just got out from the shower. i look like a wet dog."

"my wet dog," seokmin pats his thigh, and you giggle, making your way over to where he sits before sliding into his lap like its second nature. you smell like seokmin, and it drives him crazy, being able to smell himself on you.

"and you smell like my cologne too? you're out to ruin me," seokmin groans dramatically, sharp nose tickling your neck as he nips at your collarbone. warmth spreads throughout your body faster than you can react, and you're sure seokmin can feel it, because he's pulling away to look at your eyes just seconds later.

"maybe i am." you reply, matching the teasing fire in seokmin's tone. the look in his eyes never changes, and he runs his thumbs over your cheeks, cupping your face in his hands as he whispers a soft, tender "god, i love you."

"you're my favorite, you know that? there's no one else i'd rather do this with." seokmin's flirtatious tone softens for a second, stone gaze softening as his hands flutter over your body. his nose is pressed to yours, and his eyes close as he lets out a small exhale.

"me too, seok. there's no one else's lap i'd sit in with sopping wet hair other than you." you chuckle, and seokmin giggles happily, smiling as you peck his lips one more time before he lets out a soft, tender "seriously, though...i love you."

and in that moment, you know he truly does.

The funniest part of this new event is the fact I can't find out what's going on it from spoilers. All context is lost in the wave of Hot Eel Mom. I love her, all hail Georgina, mother of This and That, but where is the context? What *is* the event?

to be fair, we're still in the intro part, so not much has actually happened yet! Jade and Floyd were supposed to go to their mom's friend's wedding to help with the ancient merfolk marriage custom of

as a proud member of "ppl" here I could respond that Jay uses his powers to fly in the *same season, 5 episodes apart* where he falls from a plane and never bothers to *try* to use his powers to fly (I think he wouldn't be able to sustain it personally so it wouldn't change the material outcome). but I won't say that bc you're obviously right that the show used to (and continues) to work off rule of cool and it's not particularly lazy or bad writing.

my policy is that as long as pedantic nitpicking doesn't detract from or pretend to be genuine analysis (e.g. CinemaSins) it's harmless - and it can be fun to notice slight inconsistencies, details, etc

ppl will be like "one time in ninjago season 2 episode 14 jay used his powers to fly and then he never used them again the writers just forgot!!!" I can promise you the writers probably remember but you must understand this show used to work off rule of cool and if a cool power they added as a one-off example would kill the tension of a scene in another season they'd just pretend it didn't happen. You can call that lazy or bad writing but I think after a certain point you just have to accept that the show plays fast and loose with its own canon on purpose.
