The Marazhai x Rogue Trader x Heinrix dynamic that exists in my mind is insane because my Iconoclast Rogue Trader and Marazhai are engaged in a semi sexual BDSM relationship where Marazhai absolutely gets off on my Rogue Trader torturing him while she treats him like a living, breathing, screaming stress ball to work out all her anger and aggression on because she would never take her frustrations out on her subordinates but the horrible xenos scum that tortured her and her companions is fair fucking game.

And then there's Heinrix sitting in what would be the cuck chair in any other situation consumed with lust while watching his usually kind and gentle (to him) love absolutely annihilate Marazhai until she's worked out all her aggravation before sweeping her off her feet to go fuck nasty in the other room as they proceed to completely ignore Marazhai lying bloody and bleeding on the floor

Rogue Trader - Companions relevant etudes/flags/different outcomes

I found on Reddit a post where someone linked a google document where etudes and flags are listed and as far as known explained (to get certain outcomes).

This is not only for toybox users interesting but for everyone as well as the different dialog options that affect these flags/etudes are written in the document so you can see what you need to pick to push a companion into a certain direction.

It might not be totally up to date and e.g. regarding Heinrix some information is missing but I found it quite helpful especially for the other companions.

honestly i think the real reason i can't vibe with the drukhari/aeldari companions in Rogue Trader is my visceral hatred of the word Mon-Keigh. its very much my 'quirky terminally online redditor hates the word Moist' trait.

Like legit owlcat needs to fix that lock marazhai in the cargo hold route stuff cause it actually resolves the issues I (personallly) have with dom!RT and sub!mara, because it's not about squeamishness, it's about control, and controlling every little aspect of this delusional elf that has for whatever reason decided to crawl into the beasts den and stay there instead of booking it the moment they left commoragh. Like it's not the feasting/hunting that gets me, it's the fact that for how possessive/controlling full dom!RT seems to be at times, letting marazhai hunt free his corner of the decks as he pleases seems to be not that.

So this got kind of long sooo

It feels like it was supposed to be

- marazhai has full reign of ship = sub!RT

- marazhai has feasting area = nuetral, heretic RT who is not romancing him, it's a compromise between sustaining him and also keeping him contained and also chaos and heresy

- keep him locked up and control his diet/feed him/make him beg for it = dom!RT

And like lowkey there's precedent for this with the bed scene where there's just not sub version of it no matter what. And so I choose to believe that there's alternate sub route for how to handle the locked up Marazhai route that we were denied. (Or I could just be projecting my own desires/interpretations onto marzipan lol, toybox archeology and its consequences)

Sub!marazhai is interesting in the sense that he's always creating openings for you to assert your dominance and I'm thinking that a fully realized dom!RT shouldn't be waiting or watching for those openings, fun and salacious as they are, instead creating/opening them as they desire.

There seems to be this sense of dignified 😈 around this elf, which yeah he's trueborn and that's sort of a big deal for the drukhari, even if this one is a loser.

He has this dark grace and I want dom!RT to have noneee of that.

I want their dynamic to be a mix of, RT still has an axe to grind with marazhai, but they also find the flashes of submission from this ruinous creature unexpectedly appetizing and want more, much much more.

And marzipan existing in a state of assuming he'd be introducing RT to his culture and the drukari condition and slowly testing and teaching them and then finding the carpet pulled out from under him when RT ends up being much more experienced than he was prepared for and much more demanding in ways he wasn't prepared for.

Oh, Marzipan needs to feed on suffering to not wither away? Well instead of that being something he gets to take for granted that he will be fed, that it will be conditional, a reward. I want to him to squirm for it. To question whether RT will actually seriously give him up to slaneesh just like that. I wish you could do that btw, you can offer him to the inquisition, you should certainly be able to- oh wait you can yeah, with the daemonettes.

But it's not a proper equivalent though, a proper equivalent would be drawing a straight up ritual circle, parking his betrayed and terrified self in it and kissing him goodbye. Better if after the brand because sure, he thought it meant something but you've tossed out/thrashed much more expensive property than one drukhari.

Anyways.

This is making me realise that what I actually want is the heretic rt ending but like the diet coke version and only marazhai drinks it. Kind iconoclast RT for everyone else. And occasionally for marzipan but like to torture him by denying him torture. And that to be loved is to be changed slideshow and it's just marazhai before and after. Would this RT still adore marazhai after cooking him like this? Who knows.

Rogue Trader - Act 3 - Heinrix, Yrilet and Marazhai versions (anat. opera)

I was playing through Commoragh again and noticed a change now after the recent patches compared to earlier.

They did correct the issue with having the companion selection popping up in the middle of Heinrix dialog

They also corrected the issue with missing portrait and wrong name for Heinrix that occured when you had both Yrilet and Marazhai present when he is freed

But, I am not sure if it is a bug or intended, there is dialog missing when you have both Yrilet and Marazhai present now.

I have put both the old and new version in a video, together with the current versions of only Marazhai or only Yrilet present.

The current versions for only Marazhai and only Yrilet present seem to be identical to the older versions, just with the bugs I mentioned above being fixed.

The old version basically goes like this:

Heinrix being freed -> recognizes Marazhai

Rogue Trader can say something (e.g. "I can explain")

Heinrix response

The new version goes like this:

Heinrix being freed -> Remark that he forces his gaze away from the Drukhari (Marazhai I suppose but without further information that he looked or recognized him to begin with) and notices Yrilet "You must be joking..."

Rogue trader dialog options (same as before for Yrilet)

Heinrix response + end

Only Marazhai:

Heinrix being freed -> recognizes Marazhai

Rogue Trader dialog options (like the old version e.g. "I can explain...")

So basically in the new version it seems he had recognized Marazhai but it isn't really mentioned and Marazhai has no dialog anymore.

I am trying to play Rogue Trader, and keep finding old people barriers to entry:

I don't often play gold box-style CRPGs, and have no clue how stats or battles or leveling up works. I had to take a big fucking hit to my pride and play on easy, because I hate the fights that much and, 15 hours in, have only just figured out the movement and turn system. Builds and equipment are out of reach ATM. Abilities and weapons are barely on the table.

I couldn't figure out the mouse and keyboard controls, and Win11 is garbage/didn't work with my old hori USB controllers, so I now own an XBox controller. This is heinous, but I play a lot of Nintendo, so the cancel/confirm buttons are also backwards to me.

I have been playing for at least 15 hours and haven't reached the end of the first chapter. Though, this is because I'm taking to everyone and picking everything up, and I do like that.

It's definitely not because I have trouble navigating big maps and get lost easily.

I usually play sims, and FORGOT THAT PARTY MEMBERS AREN'T PLAYERSEXUAL. Oh my god. This game also has several that aren't romanceable at all, which... makes sense...

I guess it was on me for flirting with one of the Daughters of the Emperor, I definitely knew better... and, like, intellectually, I know that the same is true of the Magos, but FOR REAL. You should be able to date Pasqual. He flashes you almost as soon as you meet him. It's great.

I accidentally slept with Jocasta immediately, which is what made me so upset when I finally figured out you couldn't romance everyone. I'm not entirely sure you can romance Jocasta. Perhaps she just sometimes offers to dom you.

I would have spent the whole game trying to sleep with Argenta (which seemed like a good fit for batshit insane dogmatic lady), so I had to look this up. Currently torn between Kibellah (alas, kinda my type) and possibly Yrilet, who I have not met yet. Solomorne is kind of tempting too - it sounds like he has a good plot, but I think his route is newer and possibly in the DLC I don't have.

I like sitting down and playing this All Day, but I have like an hour in the evening most days after work, and I am getting No Where with this game and I am dying to play it. ;_;

I really want to try the DLCs, but I would need to clear the main game first, and alas, after a month, I am still in chapter 1.
