Submissions Wanted!

Hi! A year ago I made a guide zine called Ragged that featured diy pieces found on the internet, and gave a bit of a 101 on the process of making simple patched punk garments.

I'm working on this follow up called Scraps that will expand the scope a bit this time to feature anything that is made or modified by hand and themed around the Punk/Alt scene. (This includes any battlejackets/vests, accessories, pants, skirts, whatever!)

This time around it'll be less a guidebook and more a showcase.

If you want to be featured in this zine you can send images of your creations to zinesbylennon@gmail.com with "Scraps Submisson" as the subject line. Please include the name you wish to be credited as.

If I do end up including your work I'll reach out to you and send you a physical copy of both zines (complete with safety pin binding!) (if you so wish) and digital copies for you to distribute as you so please.

If I end up getting a large amount of submissions I may not be able to include them all in the zine, but l'll keep them on file for any zines I make in a similar vein in the future. (And I'll reach out and ask again before I do include those in any future project of course)

I'll be keeping submissions opened until the end of November!

I really like how the lettering looks on my most recent zine. I sorta wanted to keep it simple but still fun and I feel like that was achieved! Here’s the rest of the zine if you’re interested. I made it with a bunch of magazine scraps and lino-cut stamps made by myself.

Y’ALL WE DID IT! My ‘A Rose By Any Other Name’ zine is finally complete and available to read. HUGE thank you to everyone who submitted and contributed work. Your stories and differing perspectives have made putting this together an absolute joy. Reading through submissions was simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking. 

You can download free pdfs of the zine here on itch.io! Physical copies will be sold on my depop and possibly more places in the future!

another lil poetry zine just kinda sprouted outta me over the last few days - 'dragonslayer' - it's a quixotic romp through the weird west.

sort of an abstract, surreal journal entry more than anything ~ set deep within the lonely nowheres endlessly dotting the dusty road between phoenix & faerie.

hopefully this will make some sense to folk who do not currently reside in my head..

I LOVE handmade gifts. They're so much more special in my opinion. Anyway, I knew right when I opened it that I would want to highlight it on here sometime. The only issue was I didn't feel like I had anything profound to share about it with you guys other than the fact I love it so much and after some consideration, I feel like that's a perfectly valid reason to highlight this zine! Mo’s art is so cool and is generally pretty cute and cozy with an autumn color palette. Looking at their art is as good as snuggling up in a big blanket with a nice book and a hot cup of tea. But about the zine! This zine is actually their very first one (Literally who would have thought!) and it’s essentially a mini version of their sketchbook pages, all scanned and assembled into this little zine. They even made a little bookmark for me too! (#custommade). The pictures I’m posting are my two favorite pages. The veggie page because come on and the collage page is so fun. Obviously, I love collage art and it’s always really cool to see how someone else can do the same thing in an entirely different way. I love the attention to detail on every page and it's honestly hard to pick out things I like the most because of it. If you wanna check out their work be sure to follow them! Selling at Auckland Zinefest yesterday was incredible!!! It was my first time selling at anything ever, so I was a bit nervous, but everyone was so nice and it was so fun!!!! I'm so glad people liked my art :) definitely a confidence boost!!! Here's a photo of my half-table I had there :)
