Digital was stressing me out, so I went back to my roots. Painted my man Jack Krauser, love him to bits ( ꈍ◡ꈍ)

The colours came out all washed on the scan, but trust it’s way more vibrant irl. Tried tweaking it, but nothing matched, so I left it

Think I’m gonna stick with my sketchy, very angular contour style btw. It’s just way more fun to work with, something about it scratches my brain just right

This redraw took forever to finish. I redesigned the fox guy from one basic look to another, I’ve improved technically, but my taste remains reliably bland. No tails this time because the background turned out way nicer than I thought it would, I wasn’t about to cover it all up

I worked off a low-quality photo, but just for this post I dug the original out of my ‘purgatory’ drawer. It was caked in dust, especially over the black marker I used for his outfit. I tried cleaning it, but it would've just damaged the piece more. Moral of the story: Take care of your art. Buy varnish. It helps.
