I've recently been hit by this renewed realisation about this passage from chapter 34 (The Forest Again) from Deathly Hallows and what is says about James Potter:

I'll repeat it again, when Harry meets James, Sirius, Remus and Lily in the Forest on the way to his death, James is wearing the same clothes in which he had died. Whenever I'd read this passage before, I thought that the significance was that we could see that Sirius and Remus had found their peace. But do you know what this also implies? When you first read about James wearing the same clothes in which he died, it's logical to assume that Harry is meeting the versions of his loved ones and protectors just before their death. But then there's Sirius and Remus, both younger and happier looking, both at peace. Not the Sirius and Remus just before they died. So then the next logical conclusion is that we're seeing the versions of them when they were at their happiest. And you know what this means?? James wasn't at his happiest when he was at Hogwarts and the world was his oyster. It wasn't when he got together with Lily or even on their wedding day. He was at his happiest and most at peace on that day in Godric's Hollow and probably others similar to it. Despite Voldemort lurking over them, despite the isolation and the fear and the frustration he must have felt, he was at his happiest when he had his little family, making puffs of coloured smoke for his small son, maybe looking forward to some alone time with Lily later on.

So I counted how many fics were on one page of my history (20) and then checked how many pages there were (533) and multiplied them. I haven’t EVER cleared my history to my knowledge (it might have been forced cleared at one point due to a cache crash or something) but apparently I’ve read 10,660 fics.

This is my main account that I’ve been reading on since (march or November americas and their dates, idk which way around I should read this) 2021 so that’s like 2665 fics a year which is less then I was expecting but that is 7.3 fics a day which okay- yeah that tracks (some days none some days like 40 so)

The Wading in Waist-High Water dustjacket!

This was my favourite part to make for the WIWHW bind I made with Laura. The dust jacket!

I had a blast working on this. It was the perfect excuse to create a rom-com inspired book cover, like those contemporary romance novels we've all seen on the shelves, with the cartoony characters (and the absolute filth between the covers, which is ironic, and slightly problematic, but that's a whole other topic.)

I really love the back of the dust jacket. It's got that cosy baking feel, and I thought the little hearts drawn into the flour dust was a fun little indulgence :)
