Being Human Thoughts
So I was rewatching s3, specifically the episode where they find Herrick in the psych ward and Mitchell goes apeshit trying to kill him. In the end, it seems like it’s presented as the right decision to let Herrick live, and that Mitchell was always in the wrong, but consider for a second:
Herrick was an abuser to Mitchell. Herrick is the one who turned him, who taught him how to kill, and who tricked, manipulated and staked him in s1. That response Mitchell had to seeing Herrick was a trauma response, and the others don’t so much as acknowledge that. They don’t consider for a second that their friend might not want his literal abuser living under the same roof.
Whether or not it would’ve been right to kill Herrick is neither here nor there, I just wonder if Mitchell would’ve continued his downward spiral quite so hard if someone had at least tried to sympathise.
I will say, BH s3 does one of the best deliberate character assassinations I’ve ever seen. Watching him slip into the darkness, and use his last shred of self to end the pain is so good for my angsty little heart.

Post-season 3 of Being Human brain dump
ok so I just finished series three of Being Human and jesus christ…that was probably the best and only way to end it, but holy hell I am reeling after that. I need to talk about it.
Yeah yeah, the show released nearly twenty years ago, I don’t care. They actually had the balls to kill one of the mcs. Mitchell had already lived more than most people, and all he was capable of doing by the end was either killing or using the people he loved as a crutch to not kill, and those people deserved better than that. And he deserved to die, dammit, he deserved the peace. I think Mitchell was a lot like Sasha from s3e3, clinging on to a life that is long gone, covering to up with hole filler, lovers, etcetera. But John Mitchell died in 1917, and everything after that was a mask. Part of me wishes we saw him before he was a vampire, but that might’ve ruined the point. Heartbreaking, but inevitable. He finally came to terms with the fact that he was a bad person, and did what was probably the most human thing he’d ever done since 1917: die.
And can we talk about Annie? That amazing woman had the balls to see her boyfriend punished for the atrocities he committed, even though she loved him. That is queen shit. Her whole arc seems to have been about seeing the people in her life (particularly the men in her life) for who and what they are, finally living for her, and I am so very glad they did not just bin off all that development from s2 in s3, like, we actually got to see her being proactive, solving a murder, helping Sasha, being a friend to George and Nina, even in purgatory, she must’ve made some sort of effort to contact the gang through the TV. I hope very much that this continues through s4&5, but only time will tell, I suppose.
Another thing: I know she threw him out of their room for a night, but I kind of hate how we never fully address George basically telling Nina ‘not your body, not your choice’ over her considering an abortion. Idk, just food for thought. Do I suspect if Nina had gone through with it he would’ve come around? Yeah, but he should never had to have come around in the first place.
Anyway, rant over. I love this show. It won’t be the same w/o the original trio, but I will still watch the next seasons. I have tried watching the first two episodes of the US version, but it made me want to pull my eyes out. Something about them naming the vampire after the UK actor, or the fact the werewolf took all the neuroses of George but none of the underlying emotion that actually made him interesting. Who knows, maybe just my English sensibilities playing up.
#being human uk#being human bbc#but seriously though them calling the US vampire Aiden is a smack in the face

I THINK I FIGURED OUT THE NEW ENTITIES SYSTEM IN TMAGP.
I haven't seen any other fan theories like this, but if anyone else thought of this first, please let me know.
Anyways, alchemy obviously plays a big part in the magic system of the protocol universe. And I've seen several people bring up that Celia mentioned the three primes of alchemy. Based on my very non-expert google knowledge, the three primes are salt, mercury, and sulfur. Salt represents the body, mercury represents the mind, and sulfur represents the soul.
In other words, physical horror, psychological horror, and existential horror. There are three fear entities in this universe; Salt, which is fear relating to the body/physical harm, Mercury, which is mental/emotional fears, & Sulfur, which is existential fears. This lines up pretty well with what Colin said:
This time, the way to keep the entities from entering our world is to keep them balanced. And based on what we've seen, the way to keep the balance is probably by sacrificing people to them.
This next part is a bit of a stretch & I don't expect it to be right. Something interesting I noticed, all the Externals we've met so far seem to be Salt-coded. Maybe the OIAR is only in charge of the salt part of the balance? What if the Hilltop Center and the Magnus Institute were in charge of the other two elements? Colin didn't mention what happens when there's too much salt, but we might see that for ourselves soon.

Ok everyone here’s my current tmagp theory:
FR3-D1 is the TMA eye. They take on Martin/Jon’s voices bc that is what the eye used to transmit itself across realities in Mag200. So the eye can very easily feed on the OIAR cases by just living in the computer. Maybe all the other TMA entities are with it in the computer. I’m undecided.
I’m still very much of the opinion the TMA/TMagP universe entities are different. I previously thought we might end up w/ a cosmic horror battle between the two, but I don’t think so anymore. So, the TMA entities are currently living in a TMagP computer subsisting off of the TMagP entities’ scraps.
I feel my idea is supported by today’s episode, where FR3-D1 basically requests more Bonzo cases, which reminded me of how some statements were more or less ‘filling’ for Jon. The computer wants the tastiest cases. Perhaps that W score thing stands for Wdelicious.
Anyway, I love reading everyone’s crazy red string conspiracies ab tmagp, so I’m contributing my own.
May your Bonzo be on his way (he wants to stay he wants to play) and your computers be man-eating. Good night everyone.
#tmagp#the magnus protocol#tmagp theory#mr bonzo#I’m far too deep into this lol#I have A levels and this is how I’m spending my time

Seriously, where are all the science gays? Istg I’m the only one here, and I love physics, I really do, but sometimes I just want to talk to another queer person about photons goddammit.
Like guys, have you heard of neutrino oscillation? It’s where neutrinos change flavour just randomly, and if than isn’t the quantum version of genderfluidity then I’ll eat my hat. Or quantum entanglement, where 2 particles can be separated over billions of light years and still be linked by some parameter. That’s some gay long distance pining if I ever did see it.
And if that’s not enough, there’s the fact that physics allows you to come face to face with the universe through funky symbols on whiteboards or pieces of paper. And if there’s one thing I know, staring at the universe and accepting your ultimately tiny place in it is just…super fucking cool. Also, Brian May has a PhD in astrophysics, an actual one, not one of those honorary ones they give celebrities. Brian May as in the guitarist for Queen.
Anyway, my point is, ik we’re known for being into classics and drama and humanities, but I promise science (especially physics, imo) is very cool and you should totally go for it, bc just like in any subject, queer people provide a unique perspective that is completely invaluable to scientific advancement.
Sincerely, a transgender 17 y/o aspiring to be an full time academic in physics
#physics#lgbtq#lgbtq community#science#I just want everyone to know that my personal life goal is mad scientist#is there anything camper than a mad scientist? Come on#ALSO I recently got into the physics course at Oxford uni and I want to brag bcos like…it was super hard work and I’m very excited

idk about reblogging etiquette on tumblr (like, is it weird to reblog a post from 6 months ago?) but I have never agreed with a post more, so screw reblogging etiquette. I finished Atlantis for the first time this weekend and boy is it slept on. Well put OP.
stumbled across bbc atlantis on iplayer and holy shit. this show was something. they crammed it so full of recogniseable figures from greek mythology like medusa, hercules, the minotaur and then said "oh yeah and pythagoras is here too. the guy with the triangle theory. he is also here. and he's traumatised and autistic". then in the second season they said "oh, he's gay and his boyfriend is icarus btw"
they made a highly famous mathematician into an overly anxious gay loser and then, to quote that one post about dead boy detectives, they tossed him at tumblr like a wedding bouquet

The doorknob on my mini distortion fell off :( (normally the rubber band would hold the door closed by it, so now it’s sorta just hanging half open). But I thought this would be a good opportunity to share my super cool mini distortion! Complete with portraits of both the wonderful faces it used. Idk, we’re never given any real description of Helen that I can remember, but I think we all collectively decided she’s purple, right?

This new ep has got me back on my red string bullshit so here we go…
I think the tape recorders are following Alice in a similar way to how they followed Jon, which is why there was a tape when she found that woman, and why she has been feeling watched/possibly being stalked.
I think Lady Mowbray is linked to the tma entities rather than tmp ones, I have an older post explaining my theories about there being 2 sets of entities if anyone cares to read it-bc that’s pure hunt vibes.
I think she was trying to recruit that caterer as an avatar for the tma entities (at least to begin with), again if anyone wants more context go look at my older post.
On the drowning victim…her speech kind of reminds me of the case where ink5oul breaks into an excavation w/ the whole ‘all consuming sea’ vibes. But honestly that’s all I got.
If anyone sees this, thank you for reading my ramblings, feel free to point out any glaring errors and I hope my theories made sense!

I don’t think Gwen can quit now. There was obviously a big emphasis on how you can quit the OIAR unlike The Magnus Institute bc it was literally the first thing in ep1, but Teddy just had a low level data entry job. Gwen’s ‘externals liason’ now. She’s in too deep. Bc it seems to me she’s pretty upset after realising her job led to that monstrosity of a stag do, and obviously in that situation, you quit, or ask for a demotion back to creepy data entry.
But that just won’t do. This is a horror, we can’t just have nice things. So naturally, the means Gwen can no longer quit, and the static behind Lena when she gave Gwen the job was indicative of some kind of supernaturally binding contract.

Everyone, I would like to bring to your attention there was a medical person called David this ep (ep 11).
Like Dr David?? THE Dr David, the only doctor on staff at Wonderland House, no his face does not change, no you are not depressed Dr David????
This is most certainly a coincidence but I love the idea it is Wonderland House Dr David and he’s just gaslighting all these workers into thinking they can’t resume the dig bc of this cadaver.

Chemistry and TmagP
So, idk if the algorithms of all the various social medias have just not been keeping me up to date, but I have so far seen no one connecting the fact that alchemical symbols are popping up everywhere (ink5soul, the ARG, literally the logo etc.) and the fact that the artefact classification system we heard in ep 9 was ‘subject, object, catalyst’. Not so much the first two, but catalyst is definitely a chemistry thing (for those not in the know, a substance that speeds up a reaction w/o being used up), and alchemy is what ended up becoming chemistry in the modern day-which all kind of links to the fact the whole institute was a messed up science experiment.
Not that I understand the implications of this, but I think it’s worth filing away for later that the institute was classifying (using?) artefacts like chemists use chemicals.
#the magnus protocol#tmagp theory#tmagp#tmagp spoilers#As someone who does a level chemistry my instinct is to learn what all the symbols mean and work out possible reactions#I don’t think that’ll help with the mystery tho

While the fandom is up in arms about GERRY and GERTRUDE and GEORGIE WTFFFF I would like to take this opportunity to comment on something completely unrelated and nothing to do with the plot.
I love how we went from tma’s creepy violins like duh, duh dueeeeeh duh duh de deh deeeeeeeee…deeeuuuuh…
to WOB WOB WOB in tmp. You best believe I sing along to the WOB WOB WOBs when a new episode drops.
I hope ppl know what I’m talking about, but given the high concentration of autistics (myself included) in this fandom I think I’ll be fine??

This is my first post ever, but I have theories and want to talk about it.
So, Alice says they started getting chatter cases about a year ago, so it stands to reason that the events of mag 200 in tma about line up with around late 2022 in the tmp universe, and along with it the entities as we from tma know them.
BUT we know there have been cases from well before then, however these case have been somewhat muddled. For example, in ep 4, we get obvious slaughter references, but the man who gives the narrator the violin just kind of got the narrator to tell him his life story for no reason, which is serious eyes vibes, but I also picked up web elements, like how this guy feel bound by the violin; it’s playing him instead of him playing it. Ep 7 has a bunch of Strangers, but also spiral-adjacent pottery and laughing, flesh style pickled hands and medical tool, desolation fire and slaughter gunfire. Ep 3 has the sickness of corruption, the amnesia of the lonely, the Vastness and inescapablity of the garden etc.
I’ve seen a couple people say they think the tmp entities instead represent desires, but needles’ whole monologue in ep 6 kinda nullifies that argument (for me at least-if u disagree I’m open to being proven wrong). But my theory is that the entities ‘native’ to the tmp universe aren’t separate from each other like tma’s are. We know the tma ones started together and were separated from mag200, and this is where I think tmp is.
BUT tma’s entities entered this world in 2022. So, my prediction is we’re going to get cosmic survival of the fittest where these two sets of entities basically compete for fear, meaning they’ll get more aggressive in their manifestations as the seasons progress.
I didn’t rly keep up with the ARG and maybe there’s something in there that says something to the contrary, but this is my theory would love to hear thoughts if anyone has some.
(Also I fully believe at some point OIAR Celia will meet another version of herself but that’s less important)
