Somewhere in the parallel universe Nathan rises a toast at Neil’s wedding:

“Once in the bar someone told me — I think Neil might be gay. And I say — Well, he always be a happy kid. And he says — No, I mean I think he plays for the other team. And I say — when he was growing up, I never made him play for just one team. Now he’s on a dream team.”

Neil: Andrew, Kevin thinks making out is something we should do more.

When Neil and Andrew decided what they are going to tell the Foxes what they are to each other, Neil says — partners — thinking of all this stuff. Neil likes this particular word with all its shades and understatements.

Are we fucking?

Are we pursuing the activity of solicitors?

Are we burying a body in the woods?

Are we detectives?

Who knows!

Early in March Foxes made Neil to send them his wish list for his birthday. And he obeyed. Everyone got the link to Lesterwish except Andrew. He got a sticky note.

Long winter evenings Neil and Andrew are playing chess. Neil is cheating. Andrew knows that and does nothing. And every time Neil wins, he giggles. And Andrew can’t take his eyes off Neil, smiling at such a little thing.

When Andrew has a bad day, he barely could stand someone touches. Even Neil’s. But he found out, that Neil’s presence makes things a little bit easier. So he keeps Neil close during the day and Neil’s pillow for night, to feel his scent and know he’s not alone anymore.

The importance of inclusive books is immense. All my life, I considered myself strange because I wasn’t interested in sexual intimacy, didn’t understand flirting, and couldn’t judge a person based on how “hot” they were. Then I met Neil Josten and learned that I’m demisexual — that I’m real, not alone, and not broken. Demisexuality is not a myth. I’m proud to know who I am.
