Tell me about your Hal Jordan gender headcanons.

Keep in mind I've read exactly one canon comic with Hal in it and it was the New 52 Justice League (which sucks but at least there's BatLantern) so I don't have a great grasp on his canon character but it's my headcanons and I get to decide

Anyway Hal spends a lot of time amongst alient cultures and obviously most of these cultures are going to have very different ideas of and views about gender. And a lot of them are going to have genders and pronouns that humans do not have

Hal, in the interest of "immersing himself in the culture" will double check with the relevant species it's ok, and then ask to be called by a set of their non-earth pronouns and be looked at as one of their genders for the duration of his visit/interaction with them. He claims it helps him understand them more and can improve inter-species relationships and build trust between the species and the Lantern Corps

Basically he's incredibly genderfluid and uses mirror pronouns but absolutely refuses to acknowledge that because "yeah but I still default back to he/him on Earth so I'm still a guy" as if that isn't also encomapssed by genderfluid

fuck it aftg batman au. kevin and andrew are rich famous exy people and neil is so so envious of them both, for their stable life, for the exy, for the fame, for the love, when all he has is running and running and lies. and so what does he do? lie, of course. he applies for the job as majordomo at day manor. andrew of course is so suspicious, but for the funsies, he figures why not. they pay too much too the yakuza for them to let them die. and over the years they tweeze out little bit by little bit of neil’s backstory. but no one ever talks about it, of course. until maybe andrew and kevin come upon a sad little exy orphan, or maybe aaron and kaitlyn, or riko, or someone dies, and they have to take care of their baby now. and neil has always felt like a third wheel here, of course he has, hes just the butler. until one night, when andrew and kevin take their kid out to see a movie, he gets a call. and we all know what it says. so neil rushes to the scene of the crime, and its flooded with yakuza, yakuza that neil recognizes and that recognizes neil. and so neil gets taken, maybe lightly maimed, but ichirou finally gets him and tells him that andrew and kevin have lived out their usefulness, you can only be so old in sports after all, but theyve noticed all the best exy players have deeply rooted familial and anger issues, and they can use that to their advantage, and theyre making neil raise the kid, and they have two objectives for him: make the kid the best exy player ever, and make sure he knows nothing about the yakuza. theyve had enough meddling from david wymack and jean Moreau and andrew day, god rest their souls. only the kid not knowing directly contributes to their revenge-fueled quest to becoming the batman bc they discover and dismantle so many crime orgs as they try to figure out what happened to their parents
