Energy work tip: Work with the energy you've got.

You might have heard of doing energy work with stuff like "white light" or "love energy." And these things are fine if they're something you can call up, but sometimes you might not be feeling it. Maybe you're depressed and a little anxious, and you're in no condition to conjure these things up. So look at what you do have.

Fear is a kind of "chilly" emotion, right? Maybe try visualizing your energy as ice. Do you have frustration? Even anger? Maybe thorny vines would work. Do you feel a heavy sadness? What about trying heavy chains? Obviously these aren't the only things you could try; they're just a few examples. You can experiment and try other things you feel fit your feelings.

Once you're done doing energy work this way, you might even find yourself feeling a little better, since you've actually put all this emotional energy to use.

Prayer of Zeus

Lord and God, all powerful father, creator of the visible and invisible, king of those who rule and lord of those who are lords, give us the power of your grace, so that Zeus may be subject to us, because all is possible for you, Lord. Prayer of Aphrodite

Even if you’re not doing the full Hygromanteia ritual with the angels and demons of each planetary hour, these are very powerful prayers for anyone working astrological magic, on par with the Picatrix conjurations and Orphic hymns (I’m especially fascinated by the voces magicae, the barbarous names of power, which suggest a PGM connection). Torijano’s book is an interesting academic study on the character of Solomon and he includes a full translation of the Hygromanteia as an appendix, from which I transcribed the above selection (any errors in it are fully my fault).

Happy world book day! I’m usually reading like four books at once so it takes me awhile to get through them. Here is my current stack. ✨Hellenistic Astrology will probably take me months to finish. I just cracked it open this weekend. I have such a hard time wrapping my head around astrology. I’m slowly getting there. I read a basic introduction book but hoping this book adds more context. 👠Red Goddess is divine and one of my favorites. It lays bare the divine feminine... the demonic and sexual energy of the goddess Babalon. ⚡️I’m listening to Memories Dreams and Reflections by Jung. And the Red Book is a companion to that. I’m not reading this straight through but flipping to pages at random and enjoying it’s beautiful madness. 🌏 Starships is hard to sum up. I’m a 1/3 of the way in and I’m enjoying it. I also have taken a few of Gordon’s classes and no one can sum up the occult like him.
