Hey, my name's Tobias/Toby if that wasn't obvious and this is sideblog I decided to make randomly today. I'm going to be posting stuff about books, and posting book reviews (I'll post both spoiler and non spoiler reviews)

Why did I say she's fifteen. She's thirteen. I don't even know my own child

Alma's Grave

So here's some information about the novel I am currently working on writing called Alma's Grave.

The story is about a fiftee year old girl named Alma who lives with her foster parents. There is a graveyard near where she lives and she starts visting there, and for some reason she gets drawn towards this one grave. After visiting the grave a couple times, she can hear two ghosts talking, the ghosts who the grave belongs to. There names are Helen and Jane, they are from the sixties and they had been trying to talk to Alma.

While Alma visits the graveyard, she also gets to know another ghost there named Archie from the 70s and is a Scottish alcoholic. (He's my favourite)

Trauma and angst happen throughout the story which I will not be sharing because those would be spoilers.

I currently have heaps of pages planning out all the chapters both on google docs and paper. There's going to be around 31 pages, and I am currently on the stages of planning out whats going to happen in each of those chapters. I planned out the main events and when and how they are going to happen, and now I'm planning the filler chapters.

I'm interested to know what you think of this and if you would be interested in it, if you like the idea and think its good, and if you would be interested in reading it when it comes out and knowing more about it

Hey just letting anyone whose interested know: I have a side blog for short original stories. This blog is for original stories but its more about my books I want to write or are currently writing like Alma's Grave. (By the way if you want to hear more about that or want updates just send me an ask)

My side blog is @here-have-some-stories. I have about three stories on there, two of them complete and one of them still in progress, but chapters come out like chapters on A03.

The first one is Silent Laughter. Silent Laughter is a short horror about a sleep paralysis demon and a boy named Jimmy I think. I forgot my own characters name. He's pretty much alone in the town and is slowly being hunted and tormented by the demon. A lot of it is cliches but I'm actually kind of proud on how it turned out. That one is complete so if it sounds interesting and you wanna go check it out, you can read the full thing right now.

The next one is Massacre Masquerade. This ones my favourite. I actually care about the story and I love the characters. This one is about a kind of alternate universe where there are modern day knights. The new knights who are just about to start their jobs are having a masked ball as a celebration. The disasters that are not accidents start to happen and people get murdered. The building gets put on lockdown and no one can leave until they find a clue of who did it. The murderer planned multiple "accidents" though, and while everyone is locked inside, more murders occur. The main characters are Deacon, Leon and Bailey. The entire thing is a murder mystery, and I'm proud of this one as well, even though this is the other one that isn't complete. I've already planned everything about this story and I'm excited for when I get it finished. Also it is a gay romance as well, but that's not the main point its just a bit on the side which is how I like my romance

My other story is a two parter called Paper Love. Paper Love is heavily inspired by that one queer animation about those drawings who are in love and try to be together, I can't remember what it's called. Paper Love is about two drawings, one a fairy and the other a steampunk elf and they could see each other from across the room since they are hung up on different walls, and even though they don't know each other, they're pretty much already in love. And yes, this is also queers. They're my pretty little lesbians. Go read it if you want.

I also have two short stories I wrote in English that I felt like posting:

Just Need Time - Something about depression and getting help with that

Just an update on Alma's Grave that absolutely no one fucking asked for.

I have done the main part of Alma's character profile and I have figured her out a lot better and understand my daughter a lot better than I did before. I am now in the process of figuring out all the information about her that is relevant to the story and when I'll be using it, and then I will design her character again and draw her hopefully better than the shitty thing before.

So yay.

Happy Birthday Alma

It's Alma's birthday today. I decided that last night. I was filling out a character profile last night for her and figuring out more of her character and it came to me figuring out her birthday so I randomly generated five from a generator, and then used random number generator to pick one of those five and it just so happened to give me today. It's also John Deacon's birthday today so happy birthday Deacy.

I figure out Alma's last name last night as well. It's Moore. Alma Moore. That's her name. Woo hoo.

I currently have questions I stole from Tumblr answered for her. I have mentioned this before but I answered them as if she was answering them so the answers are all in first person. If you would like to hear some of the questions feel free to send an ask and specify what question you would like.

There are 148. Just say what number you want and I will tell you what the question was and the answer, if it doesn't give away too many things for the story. You will not know the questions until I tell you so just pick random numbers between 1 and 148. Also ask as many as you want.

I also think it's worth noting that the answers for the questions have been answered as if she was given a questionnaire, and it happened before the events of the book.

Okay so random thing, but I saw a post on Tumblr a while ago about like "100 questions, give me a number and I'll answer one of the questions" or something like that and whenever I see something like that I usually take a screenshot of the questions so then I can answer them for my characters.

And I have officially done planning the basics of whats going to happen in each chapter for Alma's Grave so now I'm doing character profiles and using those questions to figure out their characters more.

I basically have answered those 100 questions for Alma, as if she was the one answering them so it's how she would answer and they're all in first person.

If you would like to hear some of the answers and get to know her character you can send me some numbers from 1-100 and I'll tell you what the question was and share Alma's answers if I don't think it'll give too much away.

Just something I felt like saying, there are going to be more questions I'm gonna get her to answer.

This is from my main blog, and I don't usually post on here that's not my writing, but it's fucking Brian May so he's here

It's Sir Dr Brian Harold May's birthday today and I absolutely love and adore him, and I have been posting stuff on my Queen sideblog @rogers-maraccas, but I felt like posting this long rant on here because I FEEL LIKE IT AND NOBODY CAN STOP ME AND I WANT ALL YOU FUCKERS TO HERE ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL AMAZING MAN!

Out of all four members of Queen, I do not have a favourite, I love them all equally, not just for their music, but for them, because they are all great. But today is Brian's day, so we must discuss him. Next week will be Rogers birthday.

Firstly, Brian's talent is absolutely incredible and playing guitar like his is one of the things that keep me from quitting guitar. I watch him play guitar solos and I see the way his fingers move and how they can just, how the fuck do I say this without it sounding weird, finger the strings and he can move them up and down and jesus Christ this sounds weird but I don't fucking care because it's fucking Brian May.

I will admit that he is not THE best guitar player in the world, there are definitely some, specifically Jimi Hendrix that tops Brian, but to me, in my opinion, he is still one of the best. HE IS SO FUCKING TALENTED. And its not just guitar, he can write songs, he can sing really good, his voice is amazing and so gentle and soft and I love it. He has solo albums that are really good and I definitely recommend listening to them. My fav solo album of his is Back to the Light, and even though I don't have an absolute favourite, I'm Scared and Resurrection are definitely some of my favourites, and Let Your Heart Rule Your Head gives me the same sort of vibes as '39 which is just one of the amazing Queen songs Brian wrote.

Speaking of songs, Brian has written so many hits for Queen, as has the rest of them, but this post is focusing on Brian:

Some great songs he's written that I can think of just at the top of my head:

Fat Bottomed Girls, We Will Rock You (y'know, StOmP stOmP cLaP), '39, Now I'm here, Stone Cold Crazy, Sweet Lady, Tie Your Mother Down, Teo Torriate (Let Us Cling Together), Who Wants To Live Forever and Headlong.

Plus the, in my opinion, very underrated songs that are fucking great that he wrote:

White Queen (As it Began), the story behind the song is both very sweet and sad on its own, Father to Son, Brighton Rock, It's Late, Mother Love, Dead on Time, Dreamers Ball (absolutely fucking love this song. It's so good), Dancer, Dragon Attack, Sail Away Sweet Sister, Save Me, Tear It Up and Is This the World We Created.

That's not even all of them.

And his lyrics are so fucking great as well, as are the rest of the bands songs, but just look at some of these beautiful lyrics.

"Take me to the room where the green's all green" and "Take me to the room where the reds all red" from Dragon Attack

All of '39

"You call me sweet like I'm some kind of cheese" from Sweet Lady

"She used to be a woman with a hotdog stand" from Headlong.

Lyrics master right there.

I am aware that all the band chipped in to write The Show Must Go On, which is in my opinion the best Queen song and I could go on and entire different rant about that, but the lyrics and meaning behind it is amazing, and you get beautiful gems from those lyrics like "my wings are painted like the wings of butterflies, fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die. I can fly my friends"

AAAAAAAA HE IS SO FUCKING AMAZING

Oh my gosh and we can't forget that he is incredibly smart. He has a fucking PhD in astrophysics for fucks sake, he's a doctor. I remember reading somewhere that his IQ is 180, which is just seven IQ point thingys lower than Sheldon Cooper. If he wasnt a very famous guitarist then he most likely would have been a very successful astrophysicist.

Plus he's fucking knighted.

He has also accomplished so much outside of Queen and his solo stuff. He loves animals is an animal rights activist, publicly speaking against fox hunting and culling of badgers. He fucking loves badgers. And lots of different animals. I have multiple photos of Brian with animals.

He helped open the Mercury Phoenix Trust charity which was opened in honour of Freddie Mercury to help fight AIDS.

He bought a bunch of land where trees were going to get cut down to build houses and saved those trees and is now called May's Wood.

He would go on TV after Freddie died and stand up for Freddie and speak up against the press and all the negative very untrue things people were saying about Freddie. (Just pointing out he is not the only one that did this, Roger also did an amazing job on speaking out)

There is a lot more things than I mentioned but you get the point and my brain is blanking.

OH YEAH, he played live at the top of Buckingham palace.

Also when asked by someone if we would ever hear what happened inside of the legendary Queen parties. His response was just a couple seconds of silence and then...

"no."

And of course we can't have a Brian appreciation post without mentioning the Red Special. The Red Special is Brian's guitar that he's had ever since he was a kid, and he's used it at most shows (I find the fact that he didn't have it during Live Aid is a fucking crime). He made the guitar with his dad when he was a kid. I can never remember how old he was if he was 12 or 15 or something. Him and his dad made it out of some old furniture or something like that where the wood was really old and pretty much rotting. It's fucking amazing.

And he improvised and experimented and used a six pence coin as a pick and it gives it a unique sound. One time my sister and I was in a car and I was listening to my own music and my sister told me Queen was on the radio so I listened and she had never heard that song before and she heard the bit with the guitar solo and I asked her how she knew it was Queen and she said she recognised the sound of Bri's guitar. If his guitar broke I would cry for him and the Red Special.

And I know this is talking about Brian, but I just feel the need to point how good of an actor Gwilym Lee is. He played Brian in the movie, and he was the most accurate out of the entire cast in my opinion. When Brian showed Bohemian Rhapsody to his kids they thought that his voice was the actual Brian's voice just overlapping and Gwilym was lip sinking. He wasn't, he's just that good.

I've been watching Bohemian Rhapsody while writing this, and I started this towards the start of the movie and now I'm up to the bit where Freddie finally ditches Paul so I'm gonna stop here.

Just remember that Brian May is an amazing man who is extremely talented and kind and has done extraordinary things, even more than on here. If I ever met him I would tell him that and tell him I love him more than I can say and maybe even more than some of my friends and that he has changed my life in ways I can't even understand.

What a man.

Alma's Grave charcaters

Here's a list the characters in my book, Alma's Grave and some information about them that doesn't give much spoilers.

Alma - Main character. Young teenage girl living with foster parents and can talk to ghosts

Jane - A ghost from the sixties. Alma talks to her and they are friends. Married to Helen.

Helen - Another ghost from the sixties. Alma also talks to her and they are friends. Married to Jane.

Archie - A scottish ghost. His grave is next to Helen and Jane's and they talk. Talks to Alma as well and is good friends with her.

Miss Byrne - Alma's nice art teacher

Lucas - Alma's friend

Joseph - One of Alma's bullies

Cameron - Another one of Alma's bullies

Jonathan - Alma's foster parent

Courtney - Alma's other foster parent

Melissa - Miss Bryne's sister

Mrs Lucas - Lucas's mum. Her name is not actually Mrs Lucas I just don't have a last name for most people yet

The brothers - Two brothers that share a grave behind Archie's. Friends with Archie. Alma cannot talk to them. Don't have their names or barely anything about them yet.

Alastair - Another ghost Alma hasn't met but has heard about

Taylor - Alma's friend

Rory - A person Alma has heard about through Archie

Freddie - Some other person Alma knows about through Archie.

These are not all the characters, but they are the main important ones that are worth mentioning. All the others are very unimportant side characters that are just there. Being honest some of these are very minor side characters as well.
