Tom: (Seemingly to no-one) I'm just saying! These researchers should really have more respect for my library. I get it, he's new and everything, but he could at least file stuff properly. Honestly, why would you even put that there?

[he sighs frustratedly, pausing to wonder who he was even complaining to, when footsteps approach]

Tom: (chirpily) I'm honestly surprised you don't work here, Ger. You're in my library enough.

Gerry: Yeah? Well, whether I work here or not, Gertrude likes having a young pair of legs to do the running around for her. Uses arthritis as an excuse, but-

Tom: Don't worry, she don't fool me. I've seen the old codger move faster than me on plenty of occasions. Still, s'pose we've gotta cut workplace Nan some slack. She's just a little old lady, after all.

Gerry: (exasperated) Christ, don't let her here you say that. Next thing you know she'll be up here tearin' you a new one.

Tom: She'd have to catch me first. I'm a slippery bastard when I want to be.

Gerry: (papers rustling) Don't I know it. Cheers for these, anyway. See you later?

Tom: 'course. Have fun ghost hunting

Gerry: Funny.

[Receding footsteps]

[Tom sighs, crossing the library to the of papers he had been sorting before and muttering]

Tom: I don't blame him. Wish I hadn't been so desperate to get a job, would've given myself more time to find a placement. Mainly 'cause I don't like working for a hoity toity ratbag, but... It doesn't matter.

[A moment of rustling, then silence]

This will be a role play blog for an OC of mine from the one and only

I'm going to put the basics of my OC in this pinned post paired with a picrew of them as i can't draw for shit. I've been wanting to do a second blog for an OC for a while now, so this should be fun!

Name: Thomas Stradfield, goes by Tom

Age: 28-years-old

Gender: Transgender Man

Pronouns: he/him

Height: Five foot Eleven inches

Occupation: Librarian at The Magnus Institute, London

Personality: Witty, stubborn, patient, brave, traits of Bpd but undiagnosed, hot-headed, impulsive, generous (sometimes too much so)

Appearance: tall but full-bodied, muscular arms, short and curly (3a) black hair with dark green highlights, dark skin, brown eyes, soft face, freckles

Basic background: Thomas Stradfield, afab, middle child of 3. His father left shortly after his birth, not having wanted girls. His mother resents him for this due to the poor financial and emotional situation it left her in. Once she got back on her feet, his mother purchased a house in the Leicestershire countryside. His older brother (Cameron Stradfield) is 8 years his senior and his younger brother (Adam Stradfield) is 2 years his junior. His older brother acted more like a parent towards Thomas than their mother ever had. The boys grew up close, Thomas never resenting his brother's for being favoured by their mother.

When Thomas was 13, Cameron disappeared in the wheat field behind their house. Thomas's mother never blamed him for this, but did go mad with grief. Thomas stepped up to care for Adam as their mother abandoned them as a parent, desperate to find her eldest son. Adam left to live with friends and go to college when he was 16, leaving Thomas to care for his borderline senile with grief mother until she died via heart attack in the same field Cameron disappeared in.

Thomas met Gerard Keay in a dive bar in 2008, Gerry managed to convince Thomas to get a degree of sorts - anything was better than being in non-stop self-destruct mode. He did just that, getting a degree in History and a minor in Museum Studies by 2012. To keep himself out of trouble, he took the first job he was offered; librarian position at somewhere called The Magnus Institute, London, in October, 2012.

Gerry is unaware of where Thomas works exactly, but after hearing he was having... Supernatural, issues with his mother, Thomas introduces Gerry to the Head Archivist of his work place, Gertrude Robinson, in 2013.

I'm going to begin their story from 2014, so anyone with much knowledge of TMA should have a vague idea of what that ensues. I'm thinking of doing it in the format of them just rambling about work, bitching about filing, spewing their guts about their childhood, how much they like Gerry and occasionally reference the plot of TMA, all on tape. It might change as I keep blogging here, but we'll see.
