::: The Outlaw :::

been meaning to upload the full design of this, Minna's duviri outfit
she uses that hood to blend into herds of duviri deer/elk/whatever, called Falk on the outskirts of the kingdom. they like to sing, so their herds are called choirs. alternate way to escape dax patrols when she didn't want to/couldn't fight them

Hey so what if us killing that sentient was what broke the treaty?
#I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS TOO#but at the same time that would mean it was orchestrated by someone else by forcing the tenno to do it#based on what galastra was saying#warframe spoilers#the old peace

us fighting Dax in the demo makes me think of that one line from Varzia about the tenno killing dax with our amps. when I was under the impression there was one war the tenno didn't fight as themselves with their amps
was that foreshadowing this conflict allll the way back since prime resurgence? o-o
I guess us using sentient parts for amps is making a bit more sense now, too

Idk if ive asked this already, but can we have the lore of your drofter and their bird 4?
you have and I'm sorry for taking so long to answer, but the reason for that is I don't have everything figured out yet :') especially since we're always learning more lore (Isleweaver gave me lots to think about) and it's more fun for me to reveal the lore as I solidify things. but I'll give a little bit of lore
Bird's not really "Bird 4" as in a member of the Cavia. he's a duviri raven Drifter befriended while she was stuck there. she wasn't that great at naming plus she didn't plan on getting attached. She called him "Bird" because he's a bird. so "Bird" became an informal name that just stuck. Sometimes he flies off somewhere but he always comes back
some pre-timeline divide lore that also goes for operator, with some bonus details on how it affected them differently post-divide:
Minna was born on venus in a middle-of-nowhere research district dedicated to maintaining and studying the artificial ecosystem built by the first generation of venusian colonists. genesmiths and terraforming engineers, basically. Minna and her family lived in a largely cold environment, and they taught her about wilderness safety and the ecosystem's inner workings, such as the gene forges and the flora/fungi/fauna it produced and how it all worked off of each other. she learned and retained a lot of that even before the move
having not been born on earth, and never setting foot on it until much later, Minna didn't see stuff like green forests (and seasons) and non-artificially created wildlife. the greenest plant she ever saw was a frostleaf. she didn't experience stuff like rain, never saw the ocean etc etc. Operator didn't see it until after she was rescued and made to be a soldier, and Drifter didn't see it until she left Duviri. Earth was nice but also very foreign to Drifter most of all. then she got sent to 1999 and that made things extra confusing
the zariman had green plantlife, sure but it wasn't the same as seeing a lush primal forest that had been growing for millennia, not guided by humans. Drifter's duviri was heavily influenced by the Venus she knew, so it also didn't have lush green vegetation
her parents (Siv, mother/Aulis, father) gave her a pretty good home life, both on Venus and on the Zariman. They were very kind to her and tried to teach her the right lessons while being fair to her when she did wrong. the move was hard since she already saw Venus as her home, but she was able to adjust with their help. they encouraged her interests like sports and music, themselves being talented musicians. they didn't know a thing about sports, but still encouraged her as long as it made her happy. her lunaro trophies are just mementos now, though
Unfortunately Tuvul's restriction to double shifts with one meal a day directly caused a great tragedy in her family. People weren't rested or fed enough to avoid mistakes forever. Minna and Aulis were on their way to a park when he stopped to chat with a friend at the loading dock real quick. while there, someone made an error during a ship landing and crashed into the platform. maybe they fell asleep or something similar. Aulis tried protecting her but her left arm was crushed under some debris. there was no saving the limb so they just cut her out to prevent her from dying of kidney failure. Aulis didn't survive. Minna was only ten years old when all this happened
Minna had to deal with pretty bad survivor's guilt at a pretty young age because of that incident. she was awake crying for many nights wondering why that happened and why she was able to walk away from it. and unsurprisingly the whole thing planted an early seed of hatred for the orokin that would only grow with time. but she couldn't be vocal about it, so she seethed in silence until the void jump incident
The medbay gave Minna a basic prosthetic arm, but Siv was anxious of something like that accident happening again. So she tweaked the arm, adding tools and features she thought might help in case of an emergency. just no weapons cause of the Zariman's weapons restriction. Minna wasn't so sure they would be needed, but it seemed to help Siv in some way, so she let her do it. The void later used the intent of the modifications to warp it into a shapeshifting piece of metal for Operator Minna. Drifter didn't get to have this, though. Her prosthetic broke long before it could ever reach that stage. all that's left of it is a bit of warped metal on her left scapula and residual limb. she made do, though. whatever it took, she figured out how to do things with one hand

I'll leave it at that for now. I have other things worked out, but I want to finalize more of their lore before doing a big lore masterpost

thinking about the Operator's reaction to seeing Adis so heartbroken
"I'm sorry! I didn't want to! it was him or me...him or me"
almost like they've been in that kind of spot once, during a certain void jump incident :/
hmm

so not alt timeline, but Operator regaining lost memories?
still sick 10/10 hopefully we can kill the seven all over again
I want Operator to get their lost friend back :'( he made the saddest kicked puppy face I don’t WANT HIM TO BE SAD ;A;
also lotus, hug your child it won't kill you
if we are going to tau, it makes me wonder what we have to go and do there. latest teaser makes it sound like there might be some alt-timeline shenanigans going on
are we gonna find another timeline where the Zariman made it, and the colony is still under orokin rule?

in the demo they showcased during tennocon, the hand was attached by grabbing onto Drifter's forearm, rather than wrecking their hand and fusing with them. it stood out to me that they changed it for the final version, because the only thing different about that was making drifter a chimera, kinda (because in duviri their arm is now more sentient-like)
at this point the Right Hand pattern feels deliberate enough to be foreshadowing for something, but I'm not sure what yet
thinking about that last part a lot though too. what DOES IT MEAAN
is it just me or do I feel like there's a connection between Rusalka losing her arm and her prosthetic just so happens to be elongated like an orokin's arm? much like Thrax has? and we conveniently don't know how she lost it in the first place yet
I dunno if I'm reading too much into it but now that she's in duviri where the residents either have a long right arm or a missing right arm I feel like there's no coincidence there
there's also Drifter's right arm being mangled/modified by the Lotus, making them a chimera so I'm still waiting on the consequences of that. if there weren't gonna be any why change it from the hand latching onto the Drifter's wrist?
why is it always the right hand hmm
