sometimes i wish that the clouds would part and i'll be welcomed in by the sky and its stars.
they would whisper to me the same song my mom used to sing me to sleep and they'd hug me with the same gentle strength my dad gave me when i scraped my knees.
they would smell like my mimi and papas house and taste like the huckleberries from grandma and cola from grandpa.
it would feel like coming home to see your favorite dinner on the table. like playing games with my sister and searching for bugs during summer break. it would be like hot chocolate during winter and the pool in summer.
it would feel safe and it would feel like home.
