On the pasta topic again but whenever English speakers use the word "pastas" (plural) it's incredibly funny to me because the plural "paste" in Italian is either about drugs or about breakfast, no in between. So the post I just saw - "my partner combined two pastas [...]" - your partner either mixed pills or is an experimental baker, congrats!!!???

I'm sorry I can't contain myself-

If you really wanna be literal about it, noodles are a type of pasta but not all pasta is noodles. Pasta comes in more than 500 different shapes, each with its name, and the same can be said about the dishes from the Asian tradition (but I'm definitely more ignorant on the subject); "noodles" as term is applicable only to the long and thin ones like spaghetti or lamian, you wouldn't call gnocchi or tteokbokki noodles, would you? (And if you do: never speak to me). That said, culturally speaking they're definitely perceived as two different entities, especially in the countries they come from, and idk about you but if I'm handling a foreign dish I want to go with the population that has made it... Just saying.
