There are forests of tridax kissing concrete encroachment. There are realms of anthills and rubbles of broken mountains that would tell their story if we asked.

There is the flat glaring sun, gleaming gold against the stark blue of the sky. There are no humans for miles, it's stupid that we would leave this beautiful landscape to meet them and their trivial needs.

I could stay on the road forever, going but not going anywhere, chasing gravel and silt buried earth, plucking armfuls of tridax and watching the life in the anthills.
