I have realised the issue with me not tagging the show that inspired this is that the people who might relate to this won't see it

That's a bad message tho. You understand that right? The message shouldn't be that them not getting to experience the happy ending they've been fighting their whole life for is OK bc they were too sad and damaged to ever actually be happy.

That's just a bad message to send to people. The message people should go for is "in spite of the horrors they've went through they were still able to find a way to be happy and content".

I love how hannibal, unlike every other queerbait show which convince people who haven't watched it that the couples actually happen, manages to convince everyone that it doesn't.

I went into the show expecting supernatural where its all just subtext but hannibal is just straight up queer, no bait about it.

I feel like some people need to relearn Genre Expectations... "Man, this tragedy sucks!!! Why didn't they just do XYZ, then everything could have ended happily!!" well, then it wouldn't be a tragedy, would it. "Man, this lighthearted teen romcom is terrible, it's so sappy and unrealistic!!" Well, yeah. If it had been gritty and dark, it wouldn't have been a lighthearted romcom, would it. Is the writing actually bad or are you just trying to order a milkshake from a Home Depot

One thing about how I met your mother that isn't talked about enough, is how if Ted and Robin got back together then, while the rest of the group probably would have grew closer again, Barney would have completely lost all of his friends.

There is no way barney could have stayed friends with Ted after Ted started dating his ex-wife. So likely, Marshal and Lily would have had to either pick a side or split their time with both (which, while they might try for a while, wouldn't work long term.) If they picked, they'd likely pick Ted. Robin would obviously pick Ted since they are dating.

So their front porch test future would be Ted, Robin, Lily, and Marshall together, feeling guilty that Barney is all alone
