Update
After the unity price change, we had to make the tough decision to switch over to Godot. We are slowly rebuilding the game, but it will take some time. Please understand that we are only a two-person team and progress will be slow. I’m sorry for the delay, we’ll hopefully come back with something worth showing off.

Rivers are finally completed! Also, we extended the beaches out to build more of a shoreline. All that’s left is to build the caves and add water meshes so we can finally get this place to look like an livable island.

The coding for the rivers have been ironed out and now’s its full steam ahead, hopefully we are able to get the rivers done by the end of the month so stay tuned!

Happy New Year! – 12/31/2022
Were still not done yet with the rivers! But we did want to reflect on where we are, it’s amazing how we can go from something so basic as a couple of trees and some flat surfaces to something that feels unique to the player.


Hopefully by next year we can make even more progress, and maybe make a demo or something for world generation, but until then there’s a sneak peek on more things to come in the read more!

Update 12/13/22
We’re not dead, rivers have just been a real pain. We’ve had to recode a lot of water generation but were slowly making it through. We hope to have a more presentable version by the end of the year, so stay tuned!

Update – 9/20/20222
Lakes are finally here! The lakes are similar to how we do cliffs in which there are three types of lengths, low medium and high. With these multiples tiles it would be hard to find the same lake shape twice (Hopefully). Other than that, we are beginning to work on the rivers tiles so stay tuned!

Update - 9/5/2022
Lakes for the most part are done, all we need to do is fix the transition pieces on them and they should be fully ready. The main note is that even though weekly updates are nice there really isn’t much progress to make them interesting. So, from now on we will be trying to post every other week, so stay tuned.

The first tests of lake scripting haven’t been going smoothly, were still working on it. Other than that we have more models to showoff to hopefully tide you over for now.

We were able to implement ponds into world generation, but still need a little more time on lakes. Other than that progress is going swimmingly.

Great News! We were able to finish up the ocean tiles by finally fixing a longtime bug, next on the to-do list is lakes and ponds. So, stay tuned!

Update - Sorry about not having an update last week, there just wasn’t much to show and there’s only so many times you can say the same thing. Other than that, we got valleys connecting to the ocean, beach’s that hit a strange corner and some sneak peak at some models. Sadly, were still not done with ocean blocks but thankfully were almost there!

Have some new coding tools under are belt to help with arranging tiles, other than that nothing new this week.
