Seriously don’t get why the dark artifices isn’t talked about enough compared to the other series in tsc. The characters? Literally not a boring one. The romance? Made me giggle and kick my feet. The plotlines? So interesting. The use of the forbidden romance trope? Immaculate. The angst? The pining? The yearning? Made me swoon. The use of death of an important character (iykyk)? Sobbed for hours straight. The relationship between the blackthorns + their relationship with Emma? So adorable. The uncle-niece relationship between Emma and Jem?? I CRIED EVERY TIME HE CAME ON. Julian mf Blackthorn? No comment. Emma mf Carstairs? I’m speechless.

the dark artifices is just THAT shadowhunters series for me, like not only did it introduce and lay down some wild stuff for the wicked powers to take over, but everything happened in there. malec wedding, clace proposal, two parabatai falling in love (the literal bible verses said IN BED ahem), robert lightwood's past with michael, literally all the couples stories being fire (kieraktina, diana and that guy from the hunt, kit and ty, julian and emma ofc), jem and tessa (no explanation needed, i just love seeing them), and the whole vibe at the L.A. institute and in the seelie and unseelie courts, and THULE which was insane. if the wicked powers can't beat that, then i'm afraid nothing else comes close to it for me

I recently reread Shadowhunters and currently rereading Percy Jackson, and holy fuck man reading books isn’t even enough anymore. Got to the point where I’m genuinely sad I can’t be there fighting those demons and weird evil creatures (even though I wouldn’t last 00000.001 seconds agaisnt them). Like, why can’t a hot demigod look me in the eye and say “The rivalry ends here, I love you, wise girl” and then kiss me. This is so unfair.

*clears throat* The most requested thing in my inbox has been the extended NSFW version of the cottage scene with Emma and Julian in Lord of Shadows. I usually write romantic scenes much longer than they actually are and then cut them down (it’s just how I do it) so these are the “unedited” versions. As such they do sometimes contain typos, word repeats, etc. I’m hoping you can enjoy them anyway. ;) The first version of this scene was in Julian’s POV, so here are all his insecure, complicated, desirous thoughts. ;)
