Just a few Johnny angst head canons

Sleeps with one arm over his stomach: Even if it hurts, it’s a habit from when he used to try to soothe the bruises on his ribs himself.

Jumps at loud voices or when someone raises their hand too fast around him: Even if he knows you wouldn’t hit him, his body doesn’t always remember that.

He talks to himself when he’s alone, pep talks, sometimes. Like: "You’re okay, Johnny. You're alright. You're still here. You’re okay."

Wants love but doesn’t think he deserves it: He’s scared to get close but craves affection.

Always asks, “Are you mad at me?” even over little things: He’s not trying to be annoying, he just grew up thinking love disappears when you make a mistake.

Sleeps with his back to the wall: Johnny has a habit of positioning himself this way, even if it's uncomfortable, because it feels safer and it's like he’s always ready to protect himself.

Talks to animals like they’re his best friends: It’s easier than talking to people, and they never make him feel small.

Every time Tim and Angela hear "Dos Oruguitas" they remember how happy their mom was before she got with Curly's dad and had Curly. They remember seeing how bright her eyes were and full of love she was with her kids. Now she barely gives them the attention she used to, started picking up dr!nking and drvg habits. Always yelling, throwing things, and never home. They don't blame Curly of course. It isn't his fault that their mom changed. It's the man she chose to date.

I can definitely see johnny having a lisp, not a super noticeable one, but he has a lisp. And he hates saying certain words like "specific", "system", and letters with multi-syllable words, and some "sh" sounding words. Some words he'll completely avoid trying to say because when he was younger, which is when it was most noticeable, he always got called cute for it and he doesn't want to be called cute. He wants to be called tough like Dallas, or strong like Darrel.

Would it be controversial if I said I didn't like the outsiders musical because they changed/added stuff? I already know people are probably are gonna be like, "Well Mary, the characters in the book aren't real people so why does it matter if they add new characters" And tbh it really doesn't but for me in a way it does because who is Ace, Chet, and Bev? I also don't like how Dallas's death was changed, he commited sewer slide by police not running into a on coming train. Again it might be controversial but I'm tired of acting like I enjoyed it when I didn't.

How I think the gang dies (and the order)

Johnny: fire burns (canon)

Dally: suicide by cop (canon)

Steve: I feel like Steve dies as a result of his dad. His dad kicks him out again and Steve finally says no, this is my home, I'm not leaving. In anger, his dad starts beating him... Until Steve lays motionless, blood pooling around him as he takes his final breaths

Sodapop: I feel like once Steve dies, Soda starts to lose it. He doesn't actually die by suicide, his death was a car accident. But they do find a suicide note in his bedroom because he was planning on/considering killing himself.

Ponyboy: Pony was already having a hard time with Dally and Johnny die, and despite not liking him much, he's devastated by Steve's death. But it's Soda's death that throws him over the edge. He starts spending more time with Curly, who is very concerned because, suddenly, Pony starts doing more than smoking, he becomes addicted to weed and harder drugs. Until he ODs on purpose, and Two-Bit finds his body in the bathroom, a letter clutched tightly in his fist

Darry: Darry is obviously broken about losing three friends, but he is so devastated his brothers die. He blames himself, they were his responsibility and he feels like he failed them. He stops being careful at work, stops staying out of trouble. His youth was cut short and now he's reliving it recklessly. He dies in a roofing accident, when he falls off the roof

Two-Bit: Two has always had an alcohol problem, but when every single one of his friends die - the friends he considered family - he starts drinking even more. He dies of alcohol poisoning a few months after Darry's funeral

love this deleted scene in general because i love dally and his two little brothers dynamic but what always makes me laugh is johnny trying his best to back them up 😭😭😭😭

him looking over at dally at the beginning like "here we go with this routine again" and then his halfhearted "more seltzer.. needs more seltzer 😕" and getting cut off by dally i can't stop laughing

also pony is so into it like "the health people are gonna CONDEMN this place 🤬" i know once they walked out dally was like "a little heavy on the theatrics this time pony"

Guys please tell me I'm not crazy for this. But in "The Outsiders" we all know that Steve R is 17 and Johnny C is 16. But if you look at their birthdays, Steve is born 04/15/49 and Johnny is born 03/01/49. So wouldn't that also mean Steve is 16 AND younger then Johnny only by like three weeks?
