one of my favorite things about winx club is how the girls begin as a group of misfits from different backgrounds, each with their own unique personalities and interests, brought together not by choice, but by shared living spaces and high-stakes situations none of them were prepared for. their group dynamic isn't about perfect fits or fitting together neatly; it’s about navigating personal challenges together and learning to work as a unit. balancing clashing personalities and recognizing likeness where none was expected. building trust through vulnerability and forming friendships grounded in mutual understanding. it’s about a found family, and everything that comes after.

Winx Club Season 4 looks : Critique and Redesigns ( 1/3 )

So I actually redesigned them all the way in 2023, but I wasn't very confident with the way they looked ( I wouldn't say that my old artystyle was clapped but it was...not good ).I neglected to post them because of this and then in 2024 I decided to re-design them in the OG Winx Style but afterwards I got distracted with finishing my SOTLK rewrite and completing my S4 one and they fell to the wayside.( along with me uploading anything on this blog ).But then..I watched the new Winx trailer and lets just say it gave me the creative boost needed to finally begin completing some winx-related projects that I have left falling to the wayside.( these designs a lil outdated but i still like em <3 )

So without further ado, here's my critique of the original s4 outfits, and how I redesigned them according to my reboot !

Point of reference : Top is the s4 original look, lower half was the inicial design and the largest one is their current look ! In order to keep this...brief, Im going to split up the post into three.

Bloom ! Out of all the canon s4 designs Bloom's is my second least favorite look because of the sheer amount of pink that is present in the outfit.Ive always had mixed opinion on seeing our girl in pink...I don't like it, but when Its done right it can look really good on her ( see bloom's s3 disco, motorcycle, ballgown and even s5 look )The fully pink shirt clashes too much with Bloom's red hair and makes her looked washed out ( Not as much as Stella's look...which we will get to. ) Not only are the bubble skirt, bows and polkadots a massive fashion faux pas, but they make Bloom look extra childish which is weird seeing ash this season was supposed to focus on the Winx's YA years.( This was probably the intention, as it keeps the girls from looking TOO old for Rainbow's liking. ) Capitalism ruins art. On a more positive note, The yellow streaks and lavender heart present a good visual contrast and help ensure that the outfit dosen't look TOO uniform.Likewise, I love Bloom's hair.This redesign ensures that Bloom's hair keeps its signature style whilst presenting a new look to Bloom's look. 2/10.

In this redesign, I tried to reference her original s1 look by creating a set of dark blue pants, but instead of making them light blue, flared and with star-motifs ( those have officially been relegated to Stella ) I made them dark blue, baggy and with heart prints ( KEEP IN MIND I DREW THIS BEFORE THE FINALIZED REBOOT DESIGN CAME OUT ) Instead of a crop top, I opted to go with a frilly white dress with yellow accents and a cyan blue sweater, representing how she has matured with her fashions since her inicial enrollment at Alfea, but not too feminine as to seem as if she has lost her original sense of self--she's still the creative cinnamon roll with anger issues who DIY's her own clothes--she's just matured a little.I kept her hair like the original S4 style, but I made it more wavy, and I added a blue headband as a fun visual contrast.

PS : Kiko dosen't look like he's aged a day...which is uncanny.

Stella !

Stella's original look is...oh boy.We gave Rainbow a lot of backlash for s9's Stella's fit ( as we should ) , but apparently they've been mis-designing our girl since 2012.This look threw me off for a long time and it was only until now that I realized that this is the first time that we see Stella wearing exclusively orange in her civilian look.In s1-3, she would usually wear green/mint in her everyday look since it would naturally balance out her warm color pallet.And Its...not great.The animators were experimenting with a new style this season, ( see the charather outlines..note how their closer to the girls skin than the usual black outline that we've come to expect from the first 3 seasons ? ) Stella's hair and skin are more saturated this season, so the orange dress just blends in with her skin. Yes, the dress has white, pink and yellow details, but they don't provide enough visual contrast for the dress to stand out in a meaningful way.Moving on to the lower half of her outfit--What is going on with Stella's socks ?!. understand that there supposed to match with the patterns on Stella's dress, but why did they choose that specific shade of pinkish purple ? Shouldn't they have gone with yellow since that was what was present on the circles on the dress ? AND THOSE HEELS.Why does she have bright green shoes when seemingly her established color for this outfit is orange, pink and yellow ? It feels entirely out of left-field and dosen't really match with anything in the outfit ( No the green star on Stella's purple-pink belt dosen't count.you can barely see it ) Because of how much the bright green and purplish pink contrast from the rest of Stella's skin, the viewer's eyes are immediately attracted to Stella's feet instead of looking at her face and outfit.This feels a massive faux pas on the designer's fault.There's nothing of note to write home about Stella's hairdo.

Lastly, I don't think this is something Stella would wear.Outside of the color combo,The composition of the outfit is very basic, and dosen't fit the Queen of Fashion's already established Y2Km Mediteranean girl aesthetic.1/10.

My first thought when redesigning Stella's outfit is that I wanted it to embody the ULTIMATE beachy Y2k vibes--I like to think that even though Stella would find herself on a ( somewhat ) unfamiliar planet, the Queen of Fashion would ensure that she stayed ontop of the local trends.Stella's 20 here, so I wanted to make sure that whilst she still slayed, she would have a more mature ( and beachy, since its the summer ) look.

Even though I complained about the orange in Stella's outfit critique, I thought that a sudden departure from our fav fashion diva's usual color palette was still an interesting idea--I turned Stella's outfit into a two piece and I added in lighter orange and yellow elements to her top, and darkened Stella's skin and top outline so they wouldn't blend with her tan skin.Stella's jean mini-skirt is colored blue, the cool color providing a strong ( and aesthetically pleasing ) visual contrast.To add more visual interest, I colored her belt, bag and wedged sandals white, adding onto the beach vibes.

Stella's accessories ( earrings, buckles, nail-polish,nail-polish and bracelets ) are either blue or gold, symbolizing her status as fairy of the Sun and Moon.At this point in the story, Stella is unlearning her prejudices against moon magic and therefore feels more comfortable wearing moon-themed jewelery.Her ring of Solaria is still there, but its hidden behind her long, straight blonde hair.Since this fit is more relaxed, I didn't feel the need to do too much with her hair, so I just straightened it and callled it a day.Her S4 hair is much longer than her s3 look.

Finally, on a self-indulgent whim I gave her a pair of star sunglasses because a part of me wanted to see Stella with the " popular girl " sunglasses look. ( KEEP IN MIND I DREW THIS BEFORE THE REBOOT LOOK CAME OUT ).Initially I drew these Ironically but I found myself really grooving with them.Stella totally rocks this look :D

Ironically,This re-design is my favorite one out of all of the ones I have done so far.

Flora !

Okay, now were starting to get somewhere.Although I do like this outfitFlora's has always sported a boho or slightly academia aesthetic--Her style's always been distinctive from the other girls since she's always incorporated more natural elements into her look.This dress overdoes the flower motifs and the cut just feels...generic.It feels like it would belong more on Bloom or even Stella.I have nothing much to say about the colors ( the contrast between the bright pink, bright green and white looks great !...but Flora's greens are usually much darker.Love the heels though.She would definitively wear that.Flora has no significant other accessories for me to comment on.As I write this, I realize that the " Big Three " looks are very plain, which is kind of strange because wouldn't Rainbow want is more " marketable " charathers to look their very best ? Overall impression : cute, but nothing impressive. 5/10

For Flora's redesign, I scrapped her initial look ( bottom left ) because although I thought it was cute, s4 is set during the summer and I think that she would absolutely get ROASTED in that outfit.I gave her an airy, off-shoulder dark green and pink top with a fully green mid sized skirt to match.To honor her original look, I made sure to keep the flower patterns present, but I downgraded the amount so the outfit wouldn't be visually overwhelming.The skirt is off-sized with a brown belt with a pink buckle, matching her sandals which are colored the same color.To complete the look, I gave her pink nails and some pink, brown and green jewelery.While I was drawing the jewelery, I realized that she and Stella often sported the same earrings and necklaces--I imagine that that might be something that they bond over :).I wanted to do something new with Flora's hair, so I pulled it up in a loose braid. ( This is my first time braiding on this scale and although it might not look as good at it should of, I think I did an okay job.)

A detail I noticed was The Handler did the hand thing completely different than what it usually is, because when Owen does it, he steps back, knees bent, cautious and careful as to not suddenly provoke the animal or seem like a threat. The Handler does the exact opposite, and steps forward TOWARDS the Carnotaurus, even kinda shoving her hand in his face almost like she’s intentionally trying to provoke him. Her stance is big, not submissive or passive, like she was egging the Carnotaurus on, daring him and trying to get him to attack her.

Why does no one design a form for the Trix that is so wowsh, aweeeee, queenie, like the Enchantix or Bloomix felt in the Winx??

You don't have to go all leather either. Something mystical and legendary. Like people when they draw the Moirai/Fates/Norns!!! Or the Earth Fairies... idk. Maybe with some trinket or metal, or tattooes, cape, hoodies or hat idk.

Despite the exhaustion that weighs down his frail body, he carries the food mixed with his tears and returns with a fake smile, hiding behind it the burdens of his struggles. 🍞🥀

At night, when everyone else is asleep, I remain seated at the entrance of my tent, gazing at the dark sky, reminiscing about days gone by… about my home that was once filled with warmth. 👀 your thoughts on arcane so far?

I've only watched until season 1 but I can already tell the next season is going to be depressing, if not more.

I really don't know how to write about EVERYTHING in one post 😭 so I'll just write my thoughts on current characters and relationships.

1. Jinx and Vi's relationship is genuinely so emotionally heart wrenching that I don't know how I'm going to manage the second season. It's so..strange and sad watching Jinx sort of go into the deep end because all she wanted was her sisters love, but suddenly, she only wants her sister and ONLY her sister to love her. It's killing me gang. I'm really curious to how Vi is going to...move on with the fact that her sister's gone batshit crazy in the next season. 💔

2. I'm honestly still rather suspicious of Councillor Meldarda. 😭 I have this really ominous feeling telling me she's going to do something bad and I really hope I'm wrong. Her and Jayce and really cute but they're TOO good to be true. This show is rather allergic to happiness.

3. Maybe not as deep but Cait and Vi are SO gay for each other. It makes me GIGGLY. Like I can tell they're going to be the absolute cutest little muffins ever. I just LOVE their relationship and GAH, they're just adorable.

4. I also just really want to talk about Jinx and Silco's relationship because omfg, it is not only HEARTWRENCHING but also HEARTWARMING.
