Where The Seams Split

An original poem . . . { by @voidverses }
The threshold of mortality sparks a current through my veins—
Weaving the sacred mundane into the fabric of my soul,
until the seams split like cheap silk.
Those I cherish sip from the overflow,
remnants of gold-tinted joy dripping sweet from the fray.
A newborn plane awakens beneath my skin;
the tongue of my predecessors calls me home
to pen and page.
Summer’s heat rouses the chalice of becoming
from a long-forgotten cupboard,
pleading to fill the hollow
before the season of death makes her solar return.
Liberty scorches my senses by divine fire.
With reverent hands, I shape meaning—
the holiest rite of creation.
Through the illusion of loss
I came to see:
I was always the maker,
never the broken thing.

Smoke and Seed

An original poem . . . { by @voidverses }
Bonds of the past—
now veils of smoke,
ghost-touch and ember,
both healing and choke.
The foul breath of ash
rose sharp, unrelenting—
a death made hollow
by hearts still lamenting.
But time, like a tide,
brought season anew:
a name carved in blossom—
rebirth breaking through.
So gaze through the cinders,
and vow from the start:
to honor the journey,
and soften the heart.
To rise with the dawn,
and whisper in grace—
forgiveness not bought,
but chosen in place.
